Abstrakt | The study is devoted to the diagnosis of entrepreneurship development in rural areas.The aim of the work is to analyze and evaluate the dynamics and directions ofentrepreneurship development in rural areas of the Podkarpackie province as well as toidentify changes and trends as well to present the strengths and weaknesses of rural areas inthe studied area. On the basis of the conducted research, it can be concluded that the numberof business entities in rural areas is systematically growing, and forecasts indicate furtherdevelopment. Assessment of directions and dynamics of entrepreneurship development basedon the number of entities by selected NACE sections in 2009-2017 showed no significantvariation in trends in all counties the trends are similar. The largest growth dynamics relat tocommunication and information services on, the real estate market as well as rental servicesfor buildings, machines or devices, job market mediation, tourist services, detective orsecurity services, maintenance of cleanliness and order, development of green areas, andoffice administration. In turn, industries such as agriculture, forestry, hunting and fishing,wholesale and retail trade, vehicle repairs, financial and insurance activities werecharacterized by a reverse tendency - a systematic decline in the number of business entitiesoccurred. The remaining sections of PKD maintained a stable, unchanging level. |

Abstrakt | Produktem turystycznym są wszystkie dobra i usługi nabywane przez turystów, jak i walory turystyczne, z których korzystają, a które są dla nich szczególnym przedmiotem zainteresowania. Celem opracowania było dokonanie charakterystyki i oceny produktów turystycznych powstałych oraz zarządzanych przy współpracy z lokalnymi grupami działania. W opracowaniu wykorzystano źródła wtórne. W części empirycznej dokonano analizy stron internetowych lokalnych grup działania, na których podstawie wytypowano trzy przykłady produktów turystycznych powstałych przy wsparciu lokalnych grup działania. Uzyskane wyniki badań, jednoznacznie wskazują na zaangażowanie lokalnych grup działania w rozwój turystyki na obszarach ich działalności, a opisane produkty mogą stanowić przykład na stworzenie marki danego regionu, przy jednoczesnym wykorzystaniu zasobów przyrodniczych, krajobrazowych oraz kulturowych i zaangażowaniu lokalnej społeczności. |
Abstract | A tourist product is all goods and services purchased by tourists, as well as tourist values that they use and which are of particular interest to them. The purpose of the study was to characterize and evaluate tourism products created and managed in cooperation with Local Action Groups. Secondary sources were used in the study. In the empirical part, the websites of local action groups were analyzed, based on which three examples of tourist products created with the support of Local Action Groups were selected.Obtained research results clearly indicate the involvement of Local Action Groups in the development of tourism in their areas of activity, and the described products can be an example of creating a brand of a given region, while using natural, landscape and cultural resources, and the involvement of the local community. |

Abstrakt | W opracowaniu przedstawiono najważniejsze ekonomiczno-społeczne uwarunkowania rozwoju usług turystyczno-rekreacyjnych na obszarach wiejskich powiatu krakowskiego według przedstawicieli wybranych samorządów gminnych. Materiał badawczy obejmował wyniki badań przeprowadzonych w sześciu z 17 gmin powiatu, posiadających najlepiej rozwiniętą infrastrukturę turystyczną oraz najatrakcyjniejsze walory przyrodnicze i kulturowe. Do badań wykorzystano kwestionariusz ankiety. Zawierał on pytania dotyczące czynników rozwoju usług turystyczno-rekreacyjnych w danej gminie oraz pytania związane z rolą władz lokalnych w tym procesie. Ankietę wypełnili specjaliści z samorządów, którzy zajmowali się promocją gminy oraz turystyką. |
Abstract | In the article the most important economic and social determinants of tourism and recreational services in rural areas in Krakow District were presented according to representatives of selected municipal self-governments. The research material included the results of survey carried out in six from seventeen communes of the county, possessing the best developed tourist infrastructure as well as the most attractive natural and cultural values. The survey questionnaire was used for the research. It contained questions about the factors for the development of tourist and recreational services in a given commune and questions connected with the role of local authorities in this process. The survey was completed by specialists from local governments who dealt with the promotion of the commune and tourism. |

Abstrakt | The importance of modern information and communication technologies in the economic and social life has steadily increased. The Internet creates new opportunities to provide services and meet needs. Tourism enterprises are interested in making a big profit from their sales and want the customers to give their preferences to them. The article deals with the peculiarities of Internet use by the tourism services consumers. Determined that the compared to traditional advertising technologies, Internet makes it possible to provide a dialogue with the consumer, to establish feedback and, in terms of investment, it is much cheape. The data representing the social characteristics of the sphere of Ukrainian Internet consumers are generalized. The main reasons and motives for making online purchases by tourism services consumers are indicated. The barriers that hinder the further development of Internet commerce and the promotion of online tourism services have been identified. Quantitative and qualitative research on the use of tourism Internet services in Ukraine has been carried out. |

Abstrakt | Jednym z cenionych i znanych agroturystycznych regionów Polski jest województwo wielkopolskie. Warunki przyrodnicze, bogata tradycja i kultura oraz obyczaje ludowe funkcjonujące na tym terenie powodują, że świadczenie usług agroturystycznych jest popularne wśród właścicieli gospodarstw. Chcąc być konkurencyjnym na rynku, usługodawcy korzystają z nowoczesnych technologii w zakresie promowania swojej oferty. Stosowanie działań marketingowych przy prowadzeniu gospodarstw agroturystycznych to bardzo ważny temat, gdyż świadczy on po pierwsze o przedsiębiorczości właścicieli, a po drugie stanowi doskonałą promocję gospodarstwa czy regionu. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie możliwości finansowania działań marketingowych oraz kosztów poniesionych przez właścicieli gospodarstw agroturystycznych z tytułu wykorzystywanych narzędzi marketingowych. Na podstawie przeprowadzonego badania można stwierdzić, że gospodarstwa korzystają z narzędzi marketingowych, jednakże właściciele deklarują, że przeznaczają niewielką kwotę na tego typu działanie. |
Abstract | Agritourism is one of the most popular forms of rural tourism. The Wielkopolskie region is a valued and well known agritourism region of Poland. Natural conditions, rich tradition and culture as well as folk customs functioning in this area make the provision of agritourism services popular among farm owners. In order to be competitive on the market, hosts use modern technologies to promote their products and services. The application of marketing activities while running agritourism farms is a very important subject, as it proves, first of all, the entrepreneurship of the owners and, secondly, it is an excellent promotion of the farm or the region. The aim of this article is to indicate the possibility of financing marketing activities and costs incurred by the owners of agritourism farms due to the marketing tools used. The article attempts to present the financing of marketing activities in agritourism and the costs incurred by the owner of the used marketing tools in Poland. The research was carried out among agritourism farms located in the Wielkopolskie region. On the basis of the conducted research it can be stated that the farms use marketing tools, however, the owners declare that they allocate a small amount of money to this type of activity. |

Abstrakt | The purpose of the research was to identify the volatilities of daily quotes of banks and financial services companies listed on Warsaw Stock Exchange in the six-year period ie 2011-2016. It was found that the volatility of the stock price of the eCard was the strongest correlated with BPH stock price volatility, while the volatility of KREDYTIN stock prices was strongly correlated with the volatility of BZ WBK shares, ING and PKO BP. The strongest correlation between the stock prices of banks and the surveyed financial services companies was on the day of their listing. Unlike banks, financial services companies are highly diversified. |
Abstract | Celem badań było rozpoznanie zmienności dziennych notowań cen akcji banków oraz spółek z sektora usług finansowych notowanych na GPW w Warszawie w sześcioletnim okresie badawczym tj. w latach 2011-2016. Ustalono m.in., że zmienność notowań cen akcji spółki eCard najsilniej była skorelowana ze zmiennością cen akcji BPH, zmienność zaś cen akcji KREDYTIN najsilniej była skorelowana ze zmiennością cenami akcji BZ WBK, ING i PKO BP. Najsilniejsza związek między notowaniami cen akcji banków i badanych spółek usług finansowych występowała w dniu ich notowania. W przeciwieństwie do banków, przedsiębiorstwa sektora usług finansowych są silnie zróżnicowane. |

Abstrakt | Twitter oferuje bogaty zestaw narzędzi do budowy dialogu i interakcji z interesariuszem organizacji. Głównym celem badań była identyfikacja skali wykorzystania Twittera przez organizacje pożytku publicznego oraz ustalenie związku między wybranymi cechami organizacji pożytku publicznego, a częstotliwością wykorzystania w działalności tego serwisu mediów społecznościowych. Uzyskane rezultaty wskazują, że Twitter w polskich organizacjach pożytku publicznego ma znaczenie niewielkie. Badane organizacje cechuje duże zróżnicowanie pod względem aktywności publikacyjnej na Twitterze. Jednocześnie, organizacje aktywnie publikujące treści na Twitterze, również dużą aktywność przejawiają w wykorzystaniu innych serwisów social media. W celu identyfikacji związków pomiędzy analizowanymi zmiennymi wykorzystano analizę opartą na standardowych parametrach oraz badanie zależności wybranych zmiennych (test niezależności chi-kwadrat oraz współczynnik kontyngencji C). |
Abstract | Twitter offers a opulent set of tools for building dialogue and interacting with an organization's stakeholder. The main objective of the research was to identify the scale of Twitter use by public benefit organizations and to establish a connection between selected features of public benefit organizations and the frequency of using social media in the operation of this service. The results indicate low importance of Twitter in Polish public benefit organizations. Nevertheless the surveyed organizations are characterized by large diversity in terms of their Twitter activity. At the same time, organizations actively publishing content on Twitter, also show great activity in the use of other social media services. In order to identify the relationships between the analyzed variables, an analysis based on standard parameters were used and also a study of the dependence of selected variables (chi-square independence test and coefficient of contingency C). |

Abstrakt | Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie regulacji prawnych, w których ujęto problematykę ochrony konsumentów na rynku wybranych usług oraz sposoby dochodzenia roszczeń przez konsumentów w przypadku naruszenia ich praw. W ramach badań dokonano analizy danych wtórnych, tj. aktów prawnych, sprawozdań wybranych podmiotów sektorowych (publicznych i niepublicznych) w zakresie pozasądowego rozwiązywania sporów między konsumentem a przedsiębiorcą, wynikających z zawartej z konsumentem umowy. Dokonane analizy wskazują, że nie zawsze przestrzegane są prawa konsumentów na rynku usług. Ponadto, pomimo zwiększającego się zainteresowania polubownym sposobem rozwiązywania sporów, nadal istnieje konieczność prowadzenia przez różne instytucje i organizacje działań informacyjno-edukacyjnych w tym zakresie. Przyczyni się to do wzrostu świadomości istnienia możliwości wykorzystania tego sposobu rozwiązywania sporów, zarówno wśród przedsiębiorców, jak i konsumentów. |
Abstract | The purpose of this article is to present legal regulations which included the issues of consumer protection on the market of selected services and ways of pursuing claims by consumers in case of rights violation. The research consist of secondary data analysis i.e. legal acts, reports of selected sector entities (public and non-public) in terms of out-of-court dispute resolution between the consumer and the entrepreneur resulting from the contract concluded with the consumer. The results of the data analysis show that consumers’ rights are not always respected on the services market. Moreover, despite the growing interest in the amicable way of disputes resolving, there is still a need to carry out information and education activities in this area provided by various institutions and organizations. This will increase the awareness of existence the possibility of using this method of dispute resolution both among entrepreneurs and consumers. |

Abstrakt | Agritourism plays an important role for sustainable development, acting as integrator for other economic sectors, like agriculture, transport, services, preserving the traditions and historical heritage. This study presents the analysis of the evolution of the agritourism infrastructure and of the main tourism indicators for Romania as agritourism travel destination, emphasizing the importance of this sector in the development of the tourism industry. Quantitative and comparative analyses were carried out regarding the total number and the existing accommodation capacity for tourist boarding houses and agritourist boarding houses and the numerical evolution for domestic arrivals and international arrivals throughout the period between 2006 and 2016. In conclusion, Romania is an important agritourism destination, well known at national and international level for its natural and anthropic resources in rural areas. |

Abstrakt | The objective of this paper is to evaluate the customer service quality at the cooperative banks in Poland and to test the extent of the customer oriented approach of selling banking services based on the relational model. The customer service level at the cooperative banks was evaluated as low in comparison with the results achieved by the commercial banks. The principles of the relational model and the customer-oriented sales model were fulfilled in 36%. The analysis of the needs, using the feedback about the customer, the customer commitment and the effective sales were the least implemented. The highest level of implementation concerned the principles of comfortable customer service, the greeting and presentation of the offer. The selling efficiency is highly correlated with upholding the principles of a customer-oriented sales model. The study used the Mystery Shopper method. |

Abstrakt | The purpose of this paper is to assess the use of agricultural services in European Union countries in the context of selected features of agriculture. The Ward’s Method was used to isolate six typological clusters of European Union countries. It may be noticed that clusters with a high levels of fixed capital consumption and total intermediate consumption are characterized by a higher use of services than other clusters. The absence of a noticeable relation between the share of crop output in the structure of agricultural output, or between the labour input and the use of agricultural services can be explained by differences in natural conditions, traditional farming models and preferences in choosing between developing the farm’s own machinery or using services. |

Abstrakt | Municipalities are responsible for the condition of technical infrastructure installations, shaping the conditions of functioning of companies at the local level. The operation of municipal infrastructure generates costs that need to be financed by budgetary revenue. The aim of this paper is to identify the interdependencies between the level of municipal infrastructure provision and the level of fiscalism in property tax. The Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method was used for the synthetic assessment of the development of the municipal infrastructure. The analyses conducted confirmed the correlation between the condition of technical infrastructure and the level of fiscalism of municipalities. Municipalities with higher standard of public services related with technical infrastructure had higher property tax rates. A higher fiscalism level of municipalities is accepted if the installations allowing for a better standard of living and conducting business is provided. |

Abstrakt | The aim of the article is to analyse the scale of use and to assess the services related to modern information and communication technologies at food processing enterprises and to identify the dependencies between the obtained indices and the features characterising the entities surveyed. The grounds for considerations are findings of the surveys with 201 managers of enterprises of this sector, differentiated in terms of size. The analysis comprised the three areas of ICT services: telecommunications services, services related to software and consultancy in the IT area, and information-related services. The results indicate a wide scope of the use of ICT services – telecommunication services are used by all the entities surveyed, those related to software and consultancy – by three quarters, while information-related services – by almost 60%. In case of all entities there are noted growing outlays on their application, justified, on the one side, by the demand, and, on the other side, by high appraisals of their quality and up-to-datedness (more than 70% of indications) as well as their impact on competitiveness of the entities using them (percentages at the level of more than 60%). It must be said that there occur quite big differences in the indices obtained, due to the features of the enterprises in question. Most often statistically significant dependencies appear in case of information-related services – they are determined by the size of enterprises and the origin of their capital. In case of the services related to software and IT consultancy, the said dependencies also concern the enterprises’ size and, additionally, the range of their activities. Definitely most seldom the statistically significant dependencies occur in case of telecommunication services. |

Abstrakt | The aim of this paper is to determine the farm typology in Elbasan region and orient policy maker’s agriculture support scheme. Albania is divided into 12 regions and 61 municipality. Region of Elbasan is one of the intermediate ones4 and consists of 4 districts (district of Elbasan, Gramsh, Librazhd and Peqin). Elbasan ranked third by the availability of agricultural land in the country after Fier and Korca (72,872 ha or 10.4% of the agricultural land area at country level). Despite the size of the agricultural land area, it should be considered that a good part of it lies in hilly and mountainous part especially in Librazhd and Gramsh districts. Besides construction and development services, there is observed a growing trend of agricultural activity especially in terms of olive and vegetables cultivation in open field and greenhouses. In this region operate about 32,439 farms. The average farm family size is 4.9 persons, while the national average farm size is 4.5 persons (MAFCP, 2012). The farm typology was determined using nine indicators. Based on these indicators are identified the following type of cluster/typology for Elbasani district: poly-culture for market; livestock; leisure farms; fruit trees; arable crop farm; self-sufficiency. The farm performance was determined using factors productivity which reveals that farms that belong to the poly-culture for market, livestock and self-sufficient clusters are performing better than other clusters. |

Abstrakt | The scientific objective of the study was to identify consumption patterns in one-person households of never- married women and men, living independently. Ward’s grouping method make possible to establish the number of households’ clusters. The final stage of household grouping procedure, regarding consumption expenditures was accomplished with k-means clustering method. It can be concluded that distinguishing the consumption patterns for one-person households of never married is possible on the basis of diversification both level and structure of incomes in these households as well as socio-demographic differences between them. Depending on economic and socio-demographic variables, disparate consumption patterns for these types of households can be observed. In addition, it’s worth stressing that household having different level of income (although coming from similar source) but similar demographic structure show greater similarity than households having similar financial situation. |

Abstrakt | The aim of the paper is to present a decomposition of unemployment in the rural population into the structural and cyclical components in groups distinguished based on their main source of household income. This study was conducted using the method estimating the level of natural unemployment (equilibrium unemployment) proposed by the Centre for Economic Policy Research (1995). The analysis was based on individual, unweighted, quarterly raw data provided by the Polish LFS (BAEL) from the years 2002–2009 and 2016. The professional situation of the rural population in the analysed period improved, which was manifested in an increase in the employment rate and a reduction of the actual unemployment rate. Between the periods of 2002–2005 and 2006–2009 actual unemployment ‘followed’ the lower values of equilibrium unemployment. In 2016 the actual unemployment rate was lower than in previous periods; however, an adverse change was observed for its relation to the natural unemployment rate. If we assume that it will – as previously – strive to attain the equilibrium level, in the case of a downturn on the market for goods and services the actual unemployment among the rural population may considerably increase, particularly in the group of individuals whose main source of income is provided by unemployment benefits and the family farm. |

Abstrakt | The aim of this paper is to present changes in the role of EU countries, the USA and BRICS countries in international trade of goods and services and selected macroeconomic determinants of trade exchange in the analysed countries in the years 1960–2015 together with the projection of potential development of the situation until 2070. Investigated macroeconomic trade conditions included population size, GDP, GDP per capita and the inflation rate. Naive forecasting methods were used to estimate selected characteristics, as well as export and import volumes, considering their development trends. The analyses showed that currently, the largest global trade centres, i.e. the EU and the USA, are losing their share in global GDP. Their share in global exports and imports is decreasing to the advantage of BRICS countries. The simulation up to 2070 showed that the trends observed in previous years may be increasing, while the position of the EU and the USA in world trade may be weakening. |

The results of the research at WULS-SGGW and other studies were quite similar. |

Abstrakt | A health care is characterised of creating an individual, specific relation between representatives of health care units and patients, which means that not only medical staff professionalism but also an empathetic attitude towards patients are important questions. Literature regarding the issue of communication with patients is growing, there are as well workshops in an effective communication, nevertheless the topic is still of minor importance. Meanwhile, relations between medical personnel and patients may put a major impact on the quality of health care as well as patients satisfaction with medical services, what is important from a management point of view. A proper way of patients’ treatment by medical personnel may result not only in better attitude towards therapy, but also it may influence a more efficient management of health care facilities, as patient satisfied with medical services may recommend an organisation, which may have a positive impact on an institution’s image, allowing a manager to focus on more important aspects of an institution management. For the above reasons it is important to get to know medical personnel’s attitude to developing as well as improving communication skills in order to provide a holistic patients care, what can significantly influence a health care units management. Medical staff communication skills are important not only from a treatment perspective, but they can also be significant from the perspective of health care organisations management. The study material was gathered in the first quarter of 2014. In the final analysis questionnaires from 113 representatives of various medical professions were taken into consideration. The study results show that in the process of medical professionals education there is only a little attention paid to acquiring communication skills regarding communication between a patient and medical personnel. Also, the hypothesis according to which medical personnel is satisfied with communication with patients was confirmed. Furthermore, medical staff agree in stating that they care for a proper communication with patients. Conclusions coming from the study results may define a specific way of health care units management, which should comprise, among others, financial resources for trainings in medical personnel soft skills improvement. |
