Abstrakt	The aim of the work was to present a support mechanism for bee products market implemented after Poland's accession to the European Union, including within the framework of national beekeeping support programs. The elaboration included information contained in legal acts of the European Commission, MRiRW and KOWR. Support for the beekeeping sector in Poland and the EU is related to the policy of sustainable development of agriculture and rural areas. The amount of funds addressed to individual beneficiaries depends on the size of the sector in a given Member State. Spain, France, Greece, Romania and Italy, and Poland received the highest amounts of support under the EU budget.

Abstrakt	W artykule opisano zmiany w polskim pszczelarstwie w latach 2004-2015 z uwzględnieniem regional­nego zróżnicowania. Przedstawiono produkcję miodu, specyfikę sprzedaży, ceny miodów odmianowych w sprzedaży bezpośredniej i pośredniej – w skupie hurtowym i sprzedaży detalicznej. Ponadto scharak­teryzowano handel zagraniczny w ujęciu wartościowym i ilościowym oraz konsumpcję miodu na osobę i w gospodarstwach domowych.
Abstract	Changes in the beekeeping sector in Poland in the years 2004 to 2015 with particular focus on regional differences are discussed. The article inform about the production and specifics of sale, prices of honey in purchasing centers and on retail and wholesale markets is discussed. The foreign trade of honey in respect of its value and volume is reviewed, and honey consumption per household and per capita is characterized.

Abstrakt
Abstract	Changes in the beekeeping sector in Poland in the years 2010 to 2015 with particular focus on regional differences are discussed. The situation of amateur and professional beekeepers in terms of their socioeconomic statuses with regard to number of bee colonies, productivity, number of hives per 1 km sq., losses in the bee colonies is presented. The main sources of information, including the Central Statistical Office (CSO), FAOSTAT 2016, the reports and studies of S. Pieniążek Research Institute of Pomology and Floriculture in Skierniewice Division of Apiculture in Puławy, the materials of the Polish Association of Beekeepers. The comparative and descriptive methods have been applied in the analysis of the research problem. The article shows who is the beekeepers, how is the situation in the number and structure of bee colonies by province, inform about average size of an apiary, and density of honeybee colonies (number of colonies per 2 km sq.). The fragmentation of apiaries in Poland is a factor that has direct impact on the low profitability of production, while the associated high costs, small scale of production, and lack of investment capital, significantly reduce the economic results and hinder further development.
