Abstrakt | |
Abstract | The paper is dedicated a problems concern with development of information society at the Polish rural areas. Based on statistical data (prepared by GUS) one can state, that from 2004 to 2006 the situation on village areas was slowly improving (in 2006, 46% households used computer and 25% had access to Internet), but goals of using Internet is still dissatisfied (especially in cases of: contact with public institution, e-banking). As an example of good working programs dedicated to village society are selected e-VITA program and Rzeczpospolita Internetowa program. Especially interesting is the “e-VITA” program, which is cofinancing by The Polish - American Foundation “Freedom”, The Support Village Foundation and company CISCO Systems Poland. The results of the program are following: 11 noncommercial computers nets on rural areas, many various workshops and information meetings, 400 persons participated in e- courses. In the future (2007–2013 year) local governments will have possibilities to receive financial support in frame of Regional Operating Programs |

Abstract | The aim of this article is to analyse level of human capital and its use in Mazowieckie province in 2006 or 2007 (depending on data availability) and to compare the level of human capital and its use between Mazowieckie and other provinces. To this end, the so called Human Resources Index has been calculated, based on education, employment, enterprise and professional activity indexes. The level of human resources in Mazowieckie province has been measured mainly using the level of education of the population. The levels of lifelong learning of people aged 25–64 and presence of computers and Internet access in households are also presented. The Mazowieckie province is characterised by the highest level of the human resources in Poland, which results mainly from the province localisation, roles played by Warsaw, and the fact that numerous universities and research institutes are situated in the Capital |

Abstract | The paper is an attempt at evaluating the degree of accuracy of realization of the project: distance learning centres in rural areas financed from the European Social Fund in the frame of the priority II: Development of knowledge-based society, action 2.1.: Broadening the access to education – promotion of lifelong learning, scheme a: decreasing educational inequalities between urban and rural areas. The aims of the project in question include: 1. Creation and equipment with computers and internet connection, of at least 250 distance learning centres in rural areas (in order to enable the final beneficiaries to use the available distance learning programs) 2. Employment in the centres of qualified staff whose task would be to help using the centre’s resources. 3. Creation by the draughtsman, of a countrywide network of distance learning centres using the existing IT infrastructure with units running distance learning. 4. Enabling the final beneficiaries to complement or increase the level of education in the form of distance learning especially at the post-gymnasium level. |

Abstrakt | W pracy podjęto próbę wyjaśnienia przyczyn wysokiego udziału ocen negatywnych uzyskanych z egzaminu z ekonometrii na Międzywydziałowym Studium Informatyki i Ekonometrii SGGW. W celu określenia wielkości wpływu czynników objaśniających wynik egzaminu zastosowano model logitowy. Model ten stanowi jeden z rodzajów modeli dwumianowych, w których zmienna objaśniana jest zmienną zerojedynkową. Przedstawiono metody estymacji i weryfikacji modelu logitowego. Podano sposób interpretacji otrzymanych wyników. Na podstawie oszacowanego modelu stwierdzono, że systematyczna praca w ciągu semestru oraz dobry wypoczynek bezpośrednio przed pisaniem pracy egzaminacyjnej zwiększały prawdopodobieństwo zdania otrzymania oceny pozytywnej |
Abstract | The aim of this paper is application of logit model to explanation of examination results in econometrics on Interfaculty Studies in Computer Sciences and Econometrics. Logit model is the type of the binary choice models, where explained variable is dummy. Methods of estimation and measurement of goodness of fit are presented in the paper. Moreover interpretation of the estimated logit model is described. On the basis of estimated model it is found that systematic learning during semester and good rest immediately before writing examination paper increased probability of passing the examination |
