Abstrakt | An intensive competition in the sector of food processing industry sets forth the requirement of improving the processes of operating in the market. One of them is cooperation with the entities rendering business services. The aim of the paper is to analyse the level of making use of business services by the enterprises operating in the food processing industry as well as to assess the cooperation between the companies rendering such services. The authors used for this purpose the results of quantitative research carried out among the enterprises operating in the polish market. In result of thereof they have ascertained that, in general, along with the growth of the size of an enterprise there grows the scale of the use of business services, and it must be said that greater propensity to use business services is displayed by the enterprises with the share of foreign capital. At the same time, the assessment of cooperation with the companies rendering business services is not determined either by the size of an enterprise or by the share of foreign capital. |

Abstrakt | Celem opracowania jest diagnoza i ocena wybranych uwarunkowań rozwoju przedsiębiorczości na wsi. Podstawowym materiałem źródłowym były wyniki badań społecznych wykonanych w 2014 r. wśród 570 przedsiębiorców wiejskich. Przeprowadzone badania wykazały, że przedsiębiorcy działający na polskiej wsi mają słabo rozpoznany system instytucjonalnego wsparcia ich działalności. Za najbardziej uciążliwe elementy prowadzenia firmy uznano: skomplikowany system podatkowy, dochodzenie należności kontraktowych, uzyskiwanie licencji i pozwoleń oraz pozyskiwanie kapitału. Rezultatem dominacji branż tradycyjnych, niekorzystnej lokalizacji przestrzennej i niskiej jakości kapitału społecznego jest niski poziom konkurencyjności firm działających na wsi. Podobnie można ocenić poziom współpracy firm, który ma na ogół charakter nieformalny i dotyczy przede wszystkim skali lokalnej. |
Abstract | The aim of the study is the analysis and evaluation of selected determinants of entrepreneurship development in the countryside. The primary source material are the results of research carried out in 2014 among 570 rural entrepreneurs in all Poland`s regions. The research focuses on four issues: institutional background, regulatory background, financial support, competitiveness and cooperation of enterprises. The study showed that entrepreneurs operating in the countryside are poorly recognized system of institutional support for their activities. Business owners have identified the four most burdensome regulatory factors: a complicated tax system, debt recovery contract, obtaining licenses and permits and raising capital. The result of the dominance of traditional sectors, unfavorable spatial location and low quality of social capital is the low level of competitiveness of companies operating in the countryside. Similar evaluation is the level of cooperation of companies, which is generally informal and focuses on a local scale. |
