Tytuł | Changes in Demand and Expenses for Food in Households in Poland |
Title | Changes in Demand and Expenses for Food in Households in Poland |
Słowa kluczowe | consumption, expenses, households, foodstuffs |
Key words | consumption, expenses, households, foodstuffs |
Abstrakt | The aim of the work is to assess the demand for food among households in Poland and the changes that occurred in this demand in the years 2000-2016. In addition, changes in the consumption of selected food products over a period of 10 years depending on the socio-economic group of the household have been evaluated. The research material consists of secondary data obtained from the publication of the Central Statistical Office in the years 2000-2016. The study uses descriptive statistics methods. The income situation of households in Poland during the period under review significantly improved. In the analysed years, monthly expenses on food products per one person grew slower than total expenditure and disposable income. The analysis of the research material showed a decrease in consumption of the majority of discussed food products. The increase in demand occurred in the case of yoghurts as well as cheese and curd. The analysis divided into socio-economic groups of the households showed significant variation in the consumption of sugar, fish and seafood as well as oils and fats. |

Title | The Consumption of Fats in Poland and the European Union |
Słowa kluczowe | spożycie, tłuszcze, Polska, Unia Europejska |
Key words | consumption, fats, Poland, European Union |
Abstract | The article presents trends in fat consumption patterns in Poland between 1990-2015. The analysis is based on macro-economic data and data from household budget analysis conducted by CSO. The comparison between models of fat consumption in Poland and other European Union countries was based on FAO data. It was shown that after Polish accession to the European Union, previous trends in fat consumption were continued and a fat consumption model similar to that of developed EU countries become more widespread. Vegetable oils continued to grow as a proportion of all consumed fats. In comparison to other EU countries, Poland is characterized by a relatively high proportion of animal fats in consumption, especially butter. Despite high growth of vegetable oil consumption, it is still lower than in most EU countries. |

Bórawski P. Tendencje w handlu zagranicznym polskiego sektora mleczarskiego
Autor | Piotr Bórawski |
Tytuł | Tendencje w handlu zagranicznym polskiego sektora mleczarskiego |
Title | Tendencies in International Trade of the Polish Dairy Sector |
Słowa kluczowe | mleko, produkty mleczne, eksport, import, saldo |
Key words | milk, milk product, imports, exports, balance |
Abstrakt | W pracy analizie poddano handel zagraniczny mlekiem i produktami mleczarskimi. Wstąpienie Polski do Unii Europejskiej miało korzystny wpływ na handel mlekiem i artykułami mleczarskimi z powodu otwarcia rynków oraz eliminacji barier w handlu zagranicznym miedzy krajami członkowskimi. Wartość eksportu serów i twarogów wzrosła od 27,2 mln EUR w 2005 roku do 691,8 mln EUR w roku 2013. Podobne tendencje wzrostowe zaobserwowano w przypadku mleka i serwatki w proszku, mleka płynnego i śmietany, jogurtu i napojów mlecznych, masła i tłuszczów mlecznych oraz lodów. Wskazano główne kraje, do których Polska eksportuje mleko i przetwory mleczne oraz importerów. W analizie danych posłużono się metodami opisowymi i graficznymi. Materiał źródłowy stanowiły dane Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego, Instytutu Ekonomiki Rolnictwa i Gospodarki Żywnościowej - PIB w Warszawie oraz Ministerstwa Rolnictwa i Rozwoju Wsi. Natomiast zmienne objaśniane tworzyły kolejno salda obrotów handlowych: Y1 (saldo handlu zagranicznego artykułów mleczarskich), Y2 (saldo handlu zagranicznego serów i twarogów), Y3 (saldo handlu zagranicznego mleka i serwatki w proszku), Y4 (saldo handlu zagranicznego mleka płynnego i śmietany) oraz Y5 (saldo handlu zagranicznego jogurtami i napojami mlecznymi). Przeprowadzona analiza statystyczna wykazała, że do grupy czynników kształtujących saldo eksportu artykułami mleczarskimi zaliczyć należy kurs euro oraz ceny płacone rolnikom za mleko w UE. |
Abstract | The international trade of milk and dairy products was analyzed in the paper. Polish accession to the European Union had a positive impact on trade of milk and dairy products due to the opening of markets and the elimination of barriers to foreign trade between Member States. The value of exports of cheese and curd increased from 27.2 million in 2005 to 691.8 million in 2013. Similar growth trends were observed in the case of milk and whey powder, liquid milk and cream, yogurt and milk drinks, butter and milk fats and ice cream. The countries where we export milk and dairy products were pointed out, as were the importers. Descriptive and graphical methods were used in the data analysis. The source material was data from the Central Statistical Office, the Institute of Agricultural Economics and Food Economy-PIB in Warsaw and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. In order to analyze the factors influencing the balance of trade in dairy products the author used a multiple regression model. The following explanatory variables were adopted X1 (euro exchange rate), X2 (prices paid to farmers for milk in Poland), X3 (prices paid to farmers for milk in the EU), X4 (FAO food price index-dairy) and X5 (sold production of the food industry). The response variables which sequentially formed trade balance were: Y1 (balance of foreign trade of dairy products), Y2 (foreign trade balance of cheese and curd), Y3 (foreign trade balance of milk and whey powder), Y4 (foreign trade balance of liquid milk and cream) and Y5 (foreign trade of yogurt and milk drinks). Statistical analysis showed that the factors influencing the balance of export of dairy products should include: X1 (euro exchange rate) and X3 (prices paid to farmers for milk in the EU). |
