Abstrakt	W opracowaniu określono kierunki rozwoju polskiej bankowości spółdzielczej w opiniach zarządzających bankami spółdzielczymi. Badaniami objęto banki spółdzielcze należące do Zrzeszenia Mazowieckiego Banku Regionalnego S.A. (MR Bank S.A.). Wyniki badań przedstawiają poglądy prezesów banków spółdzielczych na koniec 2009 r. Badania przeprowadzono z wykorzystaniem kwestionariusza wywiadu w 40 bankach spółdzielczych, w których zarządzający wyrazili zgodę. Opinie pogrupowano według kryterium uczestnictwa lub nie w konsolidacji oraz kryterium wartości kapitału własnego. Do grupowania banków wykorzystano metodę kwartyli. Banki uporządkowano według kryterium wartości kapitału własnego na trzy grupy: I grupa (25%) to podmioty o najniższym kapitale własnym, II grupa (50%) – środkowy kwartyl odpowiadający przeciętnej wartości kapitału własnego i III grupa (25%) – banki spółdzielcze o najwyższym kapitale własnym.
Abstract	The paper presents the opinions of managers of cooperative banks on the directions of development of Polish cooperative banking and banks association surveyed MR Bank S.A. Tests using a questionnaire interview were conducted in 2009 in 40 locations. Products and services offered by banks are adapted to local socio-economic as well as to the expectations of potential customers. The part of companies surveyed increased the share of credits. Nextly, the key factor was friendly and professional service. It is necessary to employ highly qualified staff and maintain a continuous retraining. Activity conducted by the affiliated cooperative banks is important for the development of Polish cooperative banking.

Abstract	Risk is often understood as an adverse event. It has to be remembered however, that despite of common understanding and use, the risk may also refer to positive phenomenon. Resignation of risk could mean a potential loss of benefits that arise from project implementation (subjected to high risk). Implementation of innovations is connected with a high degree of risk, mainly because of high implementation costs and its long time horizon. The risk connected with innovations is perceived as a product of probability of an occurrence of event and its results (loss). In order to minimise negative effects of the undertaking, a classification of its sources and interrelation has to be made. It is also important to set the level of accepted risk and evaluation of related financial consequences. Furthermore, it is vital to define a preventive action and choice of funding sources for risky enterprises. The study presents a hypothetical risk analysis process of innovation implemented by agricultural enterprise, using a technical-manufacturing risk map. Risk mapping is a method that enables to illustrate the probability of occurrence of an event and its consequences in order to determine priority actions leading to reduction of the negative effects of a given event. As far as the creation of the balance sheet is concerned, a given undertaking and sources of its risk are divided into three fields: high risk, medium risk and low risk. The procedure of risk management should aim to eliminate factors located in a high risk area and move towards the area of low risk (in accordance with the assumption that a total elimination of risk is impossible).

Abstract	Based on the survey conducted among the group of weekends students it can be concluded that the most important motivating factor was an amount of remuneration. At the same time there was a clear difference between students expectations and the degree of their satisfaction in this area. It indicates that possibility of getting a higher salary could still motivate people and could be used as a factor increasing workers performance and productivity. Cultural changes in a society and employment policy points a shift from external motivators culture to a high tolerance of uncertainty and risk culture. The subsidies for capital have been allocated to finance investment, acquisition of biological and breeding material, research and implementation projects and cover balance losses. Abstract	The article discusses the problem of evaluation of the effectiveness of the links between scientific sector units and enterprises. The authoress emphasizes its importance to the evaluation of domestic innovation policy and improvement in its effectiveness. The analysis of effectiveness of the links between those units is hindered because of occurrence of many impediments and limitations, presented elaborately in the article. Proper methodology of evaluation of the effectiveness of the connections between the participants of innovation process and the system of accumulation of data about their course, expenses and effects are due to be created. Modern methods of evaluation of the innovativeness are due to be used. The possession of proper and the most up to date information about the results of actions of innovation policy allows directing its future actions and improving the innovativeness of Polish economy.

Abstract	The article presents the changes that took place in the European system of designations for the regional and traditional food products. The schemes were established in the early 90s of the twentieth century. Changes of the regulations were based on current needs, so no wonder that during their further development, some problems began to appear. The most important are: inefficient communication and promotion, lack of programs consistency, too high complexity of the system. In order to improve the European quality policy and to gain its potential profits, the European Commission carried out a series of consultations and prepared the agenda for the reform. The most important change is the introduction of the new Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on agricultural product quality schemes. The new legislation is expected to come into force next year.

Abstract	Tourism, also in reference to rural areas, makes up an important component of the policy implemented at any level of the administrative division of the country. For that reason this article aims at the specification of the criterion which would indicate the rank of the tourist functions in the rural areas. The article has assumed the hypothesis that the ratio between the selected expenses of the commune, understood as outlay, to the effects, understood as the tourist functions index of the place, may serve as such criterion (following Baretje and Defert). To verify the assumed hypothesis, Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) was used. The analysis was carried out in 67 rural communes in kujawsko-pomorskie province. Following the carried out analysis, it was found that the technical effectiveness may be deemed as a criterion which determines the rank of the tourist functions in the area of a rural commune. For those rural communes which put a priority to the development of the tourist functions the relative performance ratio should amount to 1, while in the case of rural communes focused on multi-functional development, including the development of tourist services but not mainly, the analyzed ratio should exceed the average value obtained in the communes under the analysis

Abstract	The paper describes how important it becomes to create appropriate standards that are applicable to the operations of socially responsible companies and their stakeholders. Introduction of those standards becomes necessary for adequate presentation and verifi cation of reported data. Portions of interesting information can be acquired from separate social reports and it is often proposed by investors that elements of sustainable development should appear in fi nancial reports. Not all procedures however are formalized and unifi ed while range of presented data is vastly increasing making forms of corporate social responsibility more and more differentiated depending on assumed research paradigm. It is important however to take actions in order to unify presentation and interpretation methods of published data.

Abstract	Integration with the European Union was a source of signifi cant changes in the Polish insurance sector. The period 2002–2008 was characterized with the increase of foreign capital investments and the increase of competition from domestic and foreign insurers. One of the most important consequences of that process was the broadening of the range of products and changing of the structure of distribution channels. The goal of the analysis is the examination of the directions and scale of changes in the structure of insurance products and the structure of distribution channels in the years 2002–2008. The research based on data form KNF. PIU i CEA indicate that insurance companies starting to offer more life insurance as an investment vehicle for households’ savings and reducing the share of communication insurance and increasing fi nancial and property insurance. Insurers transformed the distribution structure and signifi cantly increased the sales through the banking network and reduced the sales through their own facilities and insurance agents and brokers. Such trend brings closer the distribution structure of the Polish insurance sector to the structure of insurance sectors in Austria, Belgium, France and Italy, it means countries with the bankoriented fi nancial systems.

Period 2007–2010, however, highlighted the signifi cant systemic barriers to development that have limited the positive trends for cooperative banks. As a result of the end of the consolidation of cooperative banks and reduce the possibility of further lowering interest margin cooperative banks began to lose market share due to more rapid development of commercial banks. Systemic barriers to the development of cooperative banks require an integrated, systemic and coherent action. Taken the initiative like the possibility of bond issues by cooperative banks, merger of two associations represent an important opportunity to overcome some barriers to development

Both the debt and the defi cit of the respective local governments’ budgets are under limitations, but when we analyze the economic activities of some JST, its important role in building economy in Poland, we should permit them to take more credits than other units. On the other hand, we must remember that we can not allow loans to each JST for it, because it may lead to the threat of its insolvency.
