Abstrakt | The aim of the article is to analyse the scale of use and to assess the services related to modern information and communication technologies at food processing enterprises and to identify the dependencies between the obtained indices and the features characterising the entities surveyed. The grounds for considerations are findings of the surveys with 201 managers of enterprises of this sector, differentiated in terms of size. The analysis comprised the three areas of ICT services: telecommunications services, services related to software and consultancy in the IT area, and information-related services. The results indicate a wide scope of the use of ICT services – telecommunication services are used by all the entities surveyed, those related to software and consultancy – by three quarters, while information-related services – by almost 60%. In case of all entities there are noted growing outlays on their application, justified, on the one side, by the demand, and, on the other side, by high appraisals of their quality and up-to-datedness (more than 70% of indications) as well as their impact on competitiveness of the entities using them (percentages at the level of more than 60%). It must be said that there occur quite big differences in the indices obtained, due to the features of the enterprises in question. Most often statistically significant dependencies appear in case of information-related services – they are determined by the size of enterprises and the origin of their capital. In case of the services related to software and IT consultancy, the said dependencies also concern the enterprises’ size and, additionally, the range of their activities. Definitely most seldom the statistically significant dependencies occur in case of telecommunication services. |

Abstrakt | Nowadays, the digital economy plays a significant role in economic life. It is determined by the intensive development of modern ICT (Information and Communication Technology). Thus, the importance of the information society using techniques of information communication and processing that arose from the connection of other households is increasing. These households participate and form the basis for the process of creating social capital. Therefore, it seems interesting to examine the socio-economic space of Polish households due to the existence of disproportions in ICT development. The article presents the results of the classification of Polish voivodeships in terms of the degree of digital exclusion understood as lack of access or the ability to use ICT in households in 2017. The research used the ELECTRE TRI method, which is an example of a multicriteria decision support method used to classify decision variants based on a relationship of exceedance. The obtained results allowed for the identification of regions that are characterized by the highest degree of exclusion of digital households (the lowest use of ICT). This group includes the following provinces: Podlasie, Lublin and Lubusz. Into the analyses carried out additionally and deliberately introduced the region of Masovia Province without the capital city and separately the region of Warsaw (the capital city), which clearly different from other units. Thus, it served as a reference point in the study, which represents highly urbanized areas of voivodeships characterized by a low degree of digital exclusion. |

Abstract | The article examines the influence of the Operational Programme Innovative Economy on individuals whose participation in the electronic economy is threatened by the digital divide. The aim was to diagnose the digital divide in the context of the Information Society and to assess the level of digital divide. The empirical material was a survey on a sample of 1,487 questionnaires, 1,402 of which were ultimately accepted and analysed. The sample consisted of individuals benefiting from the Operational Programme Innovative Economy – Measure 8.3, Counteracting Digital divide – eInclusion. The article presents the essence of the information society by looking at the ideas of A. Toffler, D. Bell, M. Castells, M. Bangemann and T. Goban-Class, as well as the nature of the digital divide and e-Inclusion. It was found that, after joining the programme, beneficiaries significantly increased their use of Internet encyclopedias (from 52 to 75.1%), as well as participation in online courses. Respondents also showed an increase in the use of electronic banking (the number of respondents who opened up an online bank account rose from 31.8 to 49.9%). |

Abstrakt | W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badania przeprowadzonego wśród uczniów 45 ponadgimnazjalnych szkół rolniczych nadzorowanych przez Ministra Rolnictwa i Rozwoju Wsi. Wyniki te umożliwiły określenie rozwoju społeczeństwa zamieszkującego obszary wiejskie i miejskie w zakresie uczestnictwa młodzieży w budowaniu i rozwoju społeczeństwa informacyjnego kraju w obszarze rolnictwa oraz wdrażania i wykorzystania nowych technologii i internetu w prowadzeniu gospodarstw rolnych. Badana młodzież może stanowić potencjalną grupę przyszłych producentów rolnych, a także może przyczynić się do wdrażania i wzrostu wykorzystywania nowych technologii w prowadzeniu gospodarstwa. Pomimo dużej dostępności technologii informacyjnych, zarówno na obszarach miejskich, jak i wiejskich, nadal można zauważyć stosunkowo małe zainteresowanie producentów rolnych programami komputerowymi przeznaczonymi dla rolnictwa. |
Abstract | The paper presents the results of research conducted among students 45 post-secondary agricultural schools supervised by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. The results to determine the development of the society residing in rural areas and urban youth participation in the construction and development of the information society of the country in the field of the agriculture and the implementation and use of new technologies, as well as the internet in running farms. Young people living in rural areas, a potential group of future agricultural producers and may also contribute to the implementation and growth of the use of new technologies in the conduct farm. Despite the large availability of information technologies, in both urban and rural areas, which may indicate a high level of computerization, still can be seen relatively little interest farmers of computer programs designed for agriculture. |

Abstract | The aim of this article is to identify new directions of marketing - knowledge marketing, what connected modern of directions marketing (social marketing, virtual (Internet) marketing and relations marketing). The first part of the article has been devoted to the essence of the contemporary information society as an important set of functioning rules obligatory for enterprises. In the next part there is also a reference to the Bell’s concept of a society’s division which has been extended to one more category – knowledge society as well as some spheres that still need answers to different questions have been specified. Further some premises concerning the fundamentals of the knowledge based society have been formulated. Also the role of enterprises in the relationship with other ones and households has been underlined. |

Abstract | The paper is dedicated a problems concern with development of information society at the Polish rural areas. Based on statistical data (prepared by GUS) one can state, that from 2004 to 2006 the situation on village areas was slowly improving (in 2006, 46% households used computer and 25% had access to Internet), but goals of using Internet is still dissatisfied (especially in cases of: contact with public institution, e-banking). As an example of good working programs dedicated to village society are selected e-VITA program and Rzeczpospolita Internetowa program. Especially interesting is the “e-VITA” program, which is cofinancing by The Polish - American Foundation “Freedom”, The Support Village Foundation and company CISCO Systems Poland. The results of the program are following: 11 noncommercial computers nets on rural areas, many various workshops and information meetings, 400 persons participated in e- courses. In the future (2007–2013 year) local governments will have possibilities to receive financial support in frame of Regional Operating Programs |

Abstrakt | Wraz z rozwojem nowoczesnych technologii informacyjnych zrodziły się koncepcje społeczeństwa informacyjnego. Mimo, że nie jest to pojęcie jednoznaczne, wiele krajów, także Unia Europejska, uznały budowę społeczeństwa informacyjnego za priorytetowy cel. Zwiększona podaż informacji i wzrost możliwości wzajemnego komunikowania się w społeczeństwie i w gospodarce doprowadziły do znaczących zmian w zasadach prowadzenia biznesu. Banki znakomicie wykorzystały możliwości związane z rozwojem Internetu i gospodarki sieciowej. Inwestując duże środki i dostosowując swoje strategie marketingowe do nowych realiów zaoferowały klientom usługi bankowości elektronicznej, w tym bankowości internetowej, umożliwiając im zarządzanie swoimi finansami przez całą dobę, siedem dni w tygodniu z dowolnego miejsca na świecie.
