Abstrakt | The article substantiates that entrepreneurship is the basis of the country’s economy, a prerequisite for the revival of rural areas. It represents environmental factors that impede the formation of a competitive business environment in the Ukraine, and, accordingly, the achievement of indicators of efficiency of entrepreneurial activity. The essence of competence of the entrepreneur and its components is also considered. Different points of view of scientists are generalized and a list of competencies, which should be owned and developed by an entrepreneur in the course of his/her activity in order to harmoniously grow as a socially responsible person is also presented in the paper. The expediency of forming entrepreneurial competence in the process of vocational training of young people to life in society, their future activity in new market conditions, as well as the logical sequence of using the skills and abilities of an entrepreneur through the implementation of key competencies is substantiated. The methodical aspects of assessing the level of competence of the entrepreneur are provided. The results of this will allow to develop directions and measures for improving the process of forming the entrepreneurial competence of employees, increasing the quality of the work force, and providing competitive advantages through the use of human resources in the agricultural sector of the economy. |

Abstrakt | The article substantiates that the contemporary labour market with its flexibility, volatility, high innovation dynamics, as its main features, introduces new requirements for employees. The study analyses the Ukrainian population’s employment, in the rural areas, forestry and fishing, in particular. The study determines the problems of the insufficient level of satisfaction of the employers’ need in employees. The research sums up different scientific approaches to the expectation that employers have to professional specialists. It establishes that employers' requirements for future employees differ regarding their professional experience. The article explains the findings of the research assisting specialists to focus on the core knowledge concerning the practical aspect. The article provides analysis that refers to the set of personal qualities and abilities acting as factors of managers’ compliance with the demands of the contemporary labour market. The findings of the article single out the role and significance of logical thinking as a component of forming successful managers. |

Abstrakt | Postępująca globalizacja, rozwój technologii, wahania koniunktury rynkowej to tylko niektóre trendy mające wpływ na tworzenie specyficznych wymagań kompetencyjnych wobec menedżerów. Spółdzielnie są ważnymi podmiotami na całym świecie, szczególnie w rolnictwie, a zwłaszcza w przetwórstwie mleka. Warto zatem zastanowić się, jakimi kompetencjami powinna wyróżniać się zatrudniona w nich kadra kierownicza, aby zapewniać im stabilny i długotrwały rozwój. Celem opracowania jest zaprezentowanie zestawu pożądanych kompetencji dla kadry kierowniczej w spółdzielniach mleczarskich. Do realizacji przyjętego celu oraz weryfikacji postawionych tez zastosowano analizę literatury krajowej i zagranicznej oraz badania eksperckie. Wśród kompetencji menedżerskich w spółdzielniach mleczarskich wyodrębniono: kompetencje osobiste wyznaczone cechami osobowymi, kompetencje społeczne związane ze stosunkiem do drugiego człowieka i kompetencje menedżerskie polegające na sposobie realizacji roli kierowników. Menedżerowie spółdzielni mleczarskich powinni posiadać szereg typowych kompetencji menedżerskich, takich jak: motywowanie, myślenie analityczne i strategiczne, orientacja w biznesie i orientacja na klienta oraz przywództwo. |
Abstract | Increasing globalization, technological development, and market fluctuations are just some of the trends that influence the formation of specific competence requirements for managers. Cooperatives are important players in the world, particularly in agriculture, and especially in the processing of milk. It is therefore worth considering what competencies should be developed by managers employed in this industry, in order to provide them with stable and long-term opportunities. The aim of this article is to develop a set of desired competencies for executives in dairy cooperatives. The research included analysis of domestic and foreign literature and of research experts. Among the managerial competencies needed for dairy cooperatives were: personal competencies designated by personal qualities, social competencies related to inter-personal relationships and managerial competencies in the methods used by managers. Dairy cooperative managers should also have a number of typical managerial competencies such as motivation, analytical and strategic thinking, business orientation, customer orientation and leadership. |

Abstrakt | This paper assesses the position of the cooperative sector in Polish national economy in the years 2001–2011. The study is based mainly on publicly available information such as scientific publications and databases of the Central Statistical Office (GUS) and the National Council for Cooperative. The article used comparative analysis. The analysis showed that in recent years the share of the cooperative sector in the national economy declined. The number of cooperatives has steadily decreased, having different causes and effects depending on the industry. Financial and economic crisis has shown that cooperative banking plays an important role in the stabilization of the financial market. |

Abstract | The paper includes an attempt to present the most important competences of managers. It provides an answer for a question: who is an efficient manager? It has been more and more difficult to cope with speed of life and face increasing requirements of changing environment. It concerns especially expectations towards managers. This situation raises a question, which competences of a manager will get particular importance in the nearest future. The main aim is to present intellectual entrepreneurship as a competence of an essential role in manager’s work in the market economy. There were used sources from the literature as well as own reflections. Analyzed competences do not exhaust a topic although according to the author – they are the most important ones in manager’s work. Of course, they can be not whole necessary in different workplaces, however they can be considered as a starting point for evaluation of a potential and state of art within manager’s knowledge, skills and attitude. There were presented the most important competences of managers, which prove that managerial work is responsible and has many aspects. It was noticed that intellectual entrepreneurship is a competence of a significant role in the market economy. It was stressed that manager’s knowledge and skills are a part of important, strategic resources of particular company, which gives an advantage over other entities. The paper ends with conclusions. |
