Abstract

The measurement of poverty depends on the definition, way of understanding and method of identifying the poor. The purpose of this article is to present the impact on the incidence and intensity of poverty in selected monetary poverty lines. The analysis was based on the data from Polish household budgets study carried out by Central Statistical Office of Poland in 2010. The analysis showed that the highest risk of poverty was related to households living on unearned sources of income, households in rural areas and households where household head had at most lower secondary education level.
