Abstrakt	Genetically Modified (GM) crops are crops modified through genetic engineering to improve their quality. Although safety concerns about genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are still being debated, the food security benefits have led to adoption by many counties. In Nigeria, where most farmers are uneducated and likely unaware of the agricultural technology, the government approved its first biotechnology crop for commercialization in 2018. Level of farmers’ awareness is crucial to acceptance of GM crops, although; this has not been fully explored in the literature. Therefore, this study aimed to assess farmers’ awareness for GM crops and the factors that determine their awareness in Oyo state, Nigeria, using primary data collected in 2018 with the aid of well-structured questionnaires from 242 smallholder farmers. Principal component analysis and Tobit regression model were used for data analysis. Results showed that farmers were aged 43 years with farm size of 3.57 ha, farming experience of 14 years and 11 years of education. Most farmers were male (71.90%), married (67.36%), not members of farmer groups (64.46%) and sourced their seeds from non-credible sources (85.12%). Most farmers (52.07%) had either not heard of or did not know of any benefits/costs of GM crops, hence; were not aware of GM crops. Factors that influenced awareness of GM crops were being a male farmer, years of education and source of seeds. The study concluded that increasing years of education and ensuring use of credible seed sources will increase awareness of the costs and benefits of GM crops among farmers.

NGOsy wychowują, pomagają rozwijać i samorealizować się obywatelom. Artykuł przedstawia rolę jaką odgrywają organizacje pozarządowe oraz w jaki sposób są finansowanie. W artykule wykorzystano metodę desk research - przedstawiono i omówiono wyniki badań wtórnych, przeprowadzonych przez Stowarzyszenie Klon/Jawor oraz Główny Urząd Statystyczny.

Abstrakt	Zaprezentowane w artykule wynik badań własnych bazują na danych wtórnych pozyskanych z europejskiej bazy – Eurostat. Treści przedstawione w opracowaniu dotyczą problematyki szeroko rozumianej produktywności sektora usług, stanowiącej część badań, które w pełnym podejściu badawczym poszerzone są jeszcze o aspekt innowacyjności ww. sektora. W nawiązaniu do poruszanej w badaniach tematyki, za problem badawczy przyjęto rolę i znaczenie sektora usług w gospodarkach państw Unii Europejskiej w XXI w. W tej perspektywie jednym z celów prowadzonych badań była m.in. identyfikacja potencjału produkcyjnego charakteryzującego sektor usług państw członkowskich Unii Europejskiej. Do realizacji ww. celu wykorzystano wspomnianą metodę analizy danych wtórnych, przegląd literatury krajowej i zagranicznej z zakresu omawianej tematyki, a także metody statystyczne w postaci statystyki podstawowej (średnia arytmetyczna, odchylenie standardowe), które szczególne zastosowanie miały podczas agregowania państw do grup o określonym potencjale produkcyjnym sektorów usług. Rozpatrując wszystkie wskaźniki potencjału produkcyjnego analizowane w artykule (liczba przedsiębiorstw, liczba zatrudnionych, wartość produkcji) wśród krajów UE, sektorem usług o najwyższym potencjale produkcyjnym charakteryzowały się: Francja, Wielka Brytania, Niemcy, Włochy, Niemcy oraz Hiszpania – z wyjątkiem wartości produkcji. Polska zaklasyfikowana została do państw o średnim potencjale z wyjątkiem wskaźnika określającego wartość produkcji – poziom niski.
Abstract	This study addresses widely understood issues regarding productivity in the service sector and also extends to aspects of innovativeness within the sector. Results of the research presented in the article are based on secondary data gathered from the European base of statistical knowledge – Eurostat. The research also aims to evaluate the role and meaning of the service sector in national economies of EU countries in the 21st century. From this perspective, one of the goals was to identify the production potential within the service sectors of EU members. Methods used to achieve this goal included secondary data analysis, a review of domestic and foreign literature on the subject and basic statistical methods (standard deviation, arithmetic average), especially when aggregating countries into groups by specific production potential of service sectors. Taking into consideration all the indicators of production potential, which were analysed in the study (number of enterprises, number of people hired, value of production) for EU countries, the service sectors which had the highest production potential were found within: France, Great Britain, Germany, Italy and Spain – with the exception of production value. Poland was classified into the group of countries with average potential, except for the indicator identifying the value of production, which had a low level.

Abstrakt	W artykule zostały zaprezentowane wybrane modele regresji logistycznej, które służą do analizy przedsiębiorstw w zakresie zagrożenia bankructwem jak i zmiany w sytuacji finansowej. Jak wynika z literatury z zakresu finansów do oceny kondycji finansowej przedsiębiorstwa należy zastosować odpowiednie metody. Błędna ocena może przynieść przykre konsekwencje dla przedsiębiorstwa, w postaci podjęcia nietrafionych decyzji przez zarządzających, odmowy udzielenia kredytu bankowego lub niepodjęcia współpracy przez dostawców i odbiorców. Celem artykułu była weryfikacja skuteczności predykcji 12 modeli regresji logistycznej, które pozwalają na dokonanie oceny zagrożenia bankructwem przedsiębiorstwa a także zajęcia stanowiska odnośnie przyszłej kondycji finansowej. Próba badawcza wynosiła 40 przedsiębiorstw, w tym 8 przedsiębiorstw, dla których został złożony wniosek o upadłość. Jak wynika z przeprowadzonych badań, poszczególne modele odznaczają się różną sprawnością ogólną, która wyniosła od 54% do 98%. Ponadto wykazano, że wraz ze wzrostem wskaźników analizy finansowej użytych w konstrukcji funkcji nie zwiększa się sprawność poszczególnych modeli. Autor podsumowuje, że w celu uniknięcia ryzyka przeprowadzenia niewiarygodnej oceny kondycji finansowej przedsiębiorstwa, należy zastosować co najmniej kilka modeli logitowych.
Abstract	The article presents selected logistic regression models that are used to analyze enterprises in terms of their risk of bankruptcy and changes in their financial situation. As it appears from the literature on finance, it is necessary to apply appropriate methods to assess the financial condition of an enterprise. Incorrect assessment may cause unpleasant consequences for the company, in the form of taking wrong decisions by managers, refusal to be granted a bank loan or failure to undertake cooperation with suppliers and customers. The aim of the article was to verify the effectiveness of the prediction of 12 logistic regression models, that allow for the assessment of an enterprise’s bankruptcy risk and its future financial condition. The research sample was 40 companies, including 8 enterprises for which a bankruptcy petition had been filed. As results from the conducted research, individual models have different general efficiency, which ranged from 54% to 98%. In addition, it was seen that the efficiency of particular models does not increase with an increase of the financial analysis indicators used in the construction of the function. The author concludes that in order to avoid the risk of making an unreliable assessment of the financial condition of a company, at least 10 logistic models should be used.

Abstrakt	This article deals with the problem of a new way of reporting corporate information – the Core & More concept. Its aim is to evaluate the Core & More concept as it relates to the increasing transparency of corporate reporting as well as to the transparency of information provided to stakeholders. On the basis of a critical review of the subject literature, reports of sector institutions and interviews with representatives of business practices, the research hypothesis was verified positively. Corporate reports that conform to the standards of the Core & More concept are more transparent and the information given to stakeholders is structured. The Core & More concept allows to derogate from the silo approach of reporting. It structures information, makes it more readable and more logical to understand. The implementation of this concept, however, requires reporting persons to use abstract thinking. Additionally, while creating reports, one should have both IT skills and IT support because this concept involves, to a large extent, the use of IT tools.
Abstract	W niniejszym artykule poruszono problematykę nowego sposobu sprawozdawczości informacji korporacyjnej – koncepcji Core & More. Celem artykułu jest ocena koncepcji Core & More pod kątem zwiększenia transparentności raportu korporacyjnego oraz przejrzystości przekazywanej interesariuszom informacji. Na podstawie krytycznej analizy literatury przedmiotu, raportów instytucji branżowych oraz wywiadów z przedstawicielami praktyki gospodarczej pozytywnie zweryfikowano hipotezę badawczą. Raport korporacyjny sporządzone zgodnie z koncepcją Core & More jest bardziej transparentny a informacja przekazywana interesariuszom ustrukturyzowana. Koncepcja Core & More pozwala odejść od silosowego podejścia do sprawozdawczości. Strukturyzuje informacje, sprawia, że jest ona czytelniejsza w odbiorze i bardziej logiczna. Jednak wdrożenie tej koncepcji wymusza na raportujących abstrakcyjnego myślenia. Dodatkowo tworząc raport zgodnie z Core & More konieczne jest posiadanie umiejętności i zaplecza informatycznego, ponieważ koncepcja ta zakłada w dużej mierze wykorzystanie narzędzi informatycznych.

Abstrakt	Artykuł podejmuje problematykę szarej strefy. W pierwszej części została ujęta definicja szarej strefy w kontekście oszustw podatkowych oraz skala zjawiska w Polsce. W kolejnych przedstawione zostały negatywne i pozytywne skutki szarej strefy wymieniane w literaturze przedmiotu. W trzecim punkcie zaprezentowano fragmenty badań ankietowych dotyczących opisywanego problemu badawczego. W ostatniej części publikacji wskazano działania instytucjonalne oddziałujące na rozmiary szarej strefy w Polsce. Podstawowym celem niniejszej publikacji jest prezentacja pozytywnych i negatywnych konsekwencji występowania szarej strefy rozumianej jako oszustwo podatkowe i wskazania, które z nich przeważają w ocenie subiektywnej badanych podmiotów gospodarczych i gospodarstw domowych. W ramach artykułu zostały także zasygnalizowane rozwiązania instytucjonalne mające na celu ograniczyć badane zjawisko. Realizacja celu wymagała wykorzystania metod opisowo-statystycznych, a w szczególności analizy kształtowania się zakresu gospodarki nieobserwowalnej w Polsce i wybranych krajach. W artykule posłużono się badaniami ankietowymi z lat 2010-2019, w celu dokonania próby jakościowej oceny skutków zjawiska szarej strefy.
Abstract	The article addresses the issue of the gray economy. In the first part the definition of the shadow economy in the context of tax evasion and the scale of the phenomenon in Poland are included. The following shows the negative and positive effects of the gray economy listed in the literature on the subject. In the third part fragments of a questionnaire survey were described concerning the problem. In the last part of the article, institutional activities affecting the size of the shadow economy in Poland are presented. The main purpose of this publication is to present the positive and negative consequences of the shadow economy, understood as tax evasion, and indicate which consequences prevail in the subjective assessment of the surveyed business entities and households. The article also indicates actions aimed at limiting the studied phenomenon. The implementation of the objective required the use of descriptive and statistical methods, in particular analysis of the shape and scope of the unobservable economy in Poland and selected countries. The direct-questionnaire method was also used. The article uses fragments of author-conducted study from 2010-2019 in order to make a qualitative attempt to assess the effects of the gray zone phenomenon.

Abstrakt	In our paper, we analyse the impact of funding structure on banking sector stability in EU countries. Our findings show that after the global financial crisis (GFC) there are four main funding models in the EU banking sectors. We document that funding structure is an important factor influencing the banking sector stability. We report that there are also some other banking business model characteristics as well as macroeconomic indicators which have impact on banking sector risk.

Abstrakt	Polityka makroostrożnościowa wprowadzona regulacjami bazylejskimi po globalnym kryzysie finansowym ma charakter prewencyjny, chociaż obejmuje swym zakresem szereg rozwiązań instytucjonalnych i instrumentalnych, służących zapobieganiu materializacji ryzyka systemowego. Analiza tych rozwiązań została powiązana w opracowaniu z ich ukierunkowaniem na finansowe instytucje ważne systemowo (SIFIs), działające w Unii Europejskiej. Wskazuje się w nim, że wprowadzone do polityki makroostrożnościowej rozwiązania instytucjonalne i instrumentalne zwiększają znacznie dyscyplinę regulacyjną w systemie finansowym współczesnej gospodarki, nie zawsze natomiast są przejrzyste, a ich skuteczność ograniczona, z uwagi na właściwości ryzyka systemowego. Rozproszenie regulacyjne obserwuje sie również w Unii Europejskiej w odniesieniu do finansowych instytucji ważnych systemowo. Wzmacnia ono argumenty na rzecz tezy o niskiej skuteczności polityki makroostrożnościowej w dyscyplinowaniu stabilizującej roli SIFIs w systemie finansowym gospodarki globalnej.
Abstract	The macroprudential policy implemented due to the Basel regulations after the global financial crisis has a preventive nature, although it covers a number of institutional and instrumental solutions aimed at preventing the materialisation of systemic risk. The analysis of these solutions has been linked in the article with their orientation on financial systemically important institutions (SIFIs), operating in the European Union. It is indicated that institutional and instrumental solutions, implemented through the macroprudential policy, significantly increase regulatory discipline in the financial system of the modern economy; however they are not always transparent and their effectiveness is limited, due to the nature of systemic risk. Regulatory dispersion in the European Union is also observed in relation to systemically important financial institutions. It strengthens the arguments in favor of the idea that macroprudential policy has low effectiveness in disciplining the stabilizing role of SIFIs in the financial system of the global economy.

Poprzedzone badaniem pilotażowym zrealizowanym w styczniu 2018 r. Wynik – Określono zachowania Polaków zaliczanych do generacji 65+ na rynku usług bankowych. Oszacowano poziom zainteresowania produktami bankowymi i poziom aktywności w korzystania tych produktów oraz ustalono preferowane sposoby realizacji usług bankowych. Dokonano analiza portfela produktów bankowych tego segmentu klientów. Oryginalność/Wartość – Wyniki badań stanowią poszerzenie stanu wiedzy na temat zachowań klientów zaliczanych do generacji 65+ na polskim rynku usług bankowych.
Abstract	Objective - To determine the preferences of Polish representatives included in the group of those aged 65+ in using the basic types of products on the banking market. Test method - Survey conducted on a group of 569 respondents belonging to the generation of those aged 65+; made with the use of a questionnaire from March to May 2018. Preceded by a pilot study carried out in January 2018. Result - The behavior of Poles belonging to the generation of those aged 65+ on the banking services market was defined. The level of interest in banking products and the level of activity in using these products was estimated, as well as the preferred ways to implement banking services. An analysis of the banking products portfolio of this customer segment was made. Originality / Value - The results of the research are an extension of the state of knowledge about the behavior of clients belonging to those aged 65+ on the Polish banking services market.

The analysis was conducted using a survey of the opinions of socially excluded people registered at the Municipal Labor Office in the city of Plock. The analysis included the results of surveys received from 350 respondents, including 195 people surveyed using paper questionnaires and 155 people surveyed using a questionnaire posted on the Internet in 2018. The analyses included the distribution of answers to survey question within the entire sample together with verification of the statistical significance between the answers and such variables as: sex, age, education and period of being registered in the Municipal Employment Office.
Abstract	Praca nierejestrowana jest wykonywana bez nawiązania oficjalnego stosunku pracy. Celem badania jest przedstawienie opinii respondentów na lokalnym rynku pracy na temat pracy wykonywanej poza faktycznym kontraktem przez osoby wykluczone społecznie. Analiza została przeprowadzona za pomocą badania opinii osób wykluczonych społecznie zarejestrowanych w Miejskim Urzędzie Pracy w Płocku. W analizie uwzględniono wyniki ankiet otrzymanych od 350 respondentów, w tym 195 osób ankietowanych za pomocą kwestionariuszy papierowych oraz 155 osób ankietowanych za pomocą kwestionariusza zamieszczonego w Internecie w 2018 r. Analizy obejmowały rozkład odpowiedzi na pytania ankietowe w całej próbie wraz z weryfikacją istotności statystycznej między odpowiedziami, a takimi zmiennymi jak: płeć, wiek, wykształcenie I okres rejestracji w Miejskim Urzędzie Pracy.

Abstrakt	With the globalisation process, economic, social and political structures have become more and more intertwined. Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, it has been observed that epidemics such as Covid-19 are globalising and that they turn into pandemics on a global scale. In this study, it is suggested that, along with Covid-19’s distinctive abilities such as spreading rapidly, the fact that the world has become more mobile and integrated due to globalisation is considered to have an impact on the pandemic; thus, the effect of globalisation on Covid-19 cases in European countries was investigated through spatial analysis methods. The results of Moran’s I test carried out on Covid-19 cases in European countries suggest that there is positive autocorrelation. According to the LISA analysis results, it was found that the UK, the Netherlands, France, and Belgium not only have a higher number of Covid-19 cases, but also have been affected by the countries with a number of cases above the European mean. According to the results of Spatial Error Model designed to examine the effect of globalisation, it was found that globalisation had a slight but positive effect on Covid-19 cases in Europe.
Abstract	Wraz z procesem globalizacji struktury gospodarcze, społeczne i polityczne stają się coraz bardziej ze sobą powiązane. Ze względu na obecną pandemię Covid-19 zaobserwowano, że epidemie takie jak Covid-19 zglobalizują się i przekształcają się w pandemie na skalę globalną. W badaniu tym sugeruje się, że wraz z charakterystycznymi zdolnościami Covid-19, takimi jak szybkie rozprzestrzenianie się, fakt, że świat stał się bardziej mobilny i zintegrowany z powodu globalizacji, jest uważany za mający wpływ na pandemię; w związku z tym wpływ globalizacji na przypadki Covid-19 w krajach europejskich badano za pomocą metod analizy przestrzennej. Wyniki testu I Morana przeprowadzonego na temat przypadków Covid-19 w krajach europejskich sugerują, że istnieje pozytywna autokorelacja Zgodnie z wynikami analizy LISA stwierdzono, że Zjednoczone Królestwo, Niderlandy, Francja i Belgia mają nie tylko większą liczbę spraw dotyczących covid-19, ale także zostały dotknięte przez kraje, w których wiele przypadków jest powyżej średniej europejskiej. Zgodnie z wynikami modelu błędu przestrzennego mającego na celu zbadanie wpływu globalizacji stwierdzono, że globalizacja miała niewielki, ale pozytywny wpływ na przypadki Covid-19 w Europie.

Abstrakt	In this study, for the 2012M1-2020M1 period, the relationship between Poland’s real effective exchange rate and its food and animal exports were examined by the bounds test. The stationary analyses of variables were examined by the ADF and PP tests. According to the results of a cointegration test, a cointegration relation among the real effective exchange rate, food and live animal exports, as well as industrial production was determined. It was also concluded that the real effective exchange rate has a long-term negative impact on Poland's food and live animal exports. This research also established that a 1% increase in the real effective exchange rate in the long-term would decrease Poland's food and animal exports by 3.091%. Also, industrial production has a positive impact on Poland’s food and animal exports, as expected. It was determined that a 1% increase in industrial production would increase Poland’s food and animal exports by 2.803%. On the other hand, the error correction term coefficient was found to be -0.119, indicating that 11% of the imbalance in the short-term will be recovered in the next period.

Abstrakt	The aim of this study is to determine the essence of blockchain technology and its capabilities to be utilized in business operations. The paper discusses the importance of blockchain technology and practical possibilities of its application. Based on industry reports, statistics on investments of enterprises in blockchain technology and attitudes of their senior executives towards this technology, as well as the validity of its implementation, have been presented. In addition, the most important advantages of blockchain technology in relation to existing information technology (IT) systems have been specified. The article describes organizational barriers hindering investments in blockchain technology and its actual applications in companies. Performed analyses show that companies around the world are actively investing in blockchain technology. This technology has been found to be positively recognized in business by executives, however companies, while planning its implementation, face numerous barriers which mainly arise from a lack of legal regulations, and technical problems. On the other hand, blockchain technology can be used in many areas of company activities, especially in the supply chain.
Abstract	Celem opracowania jest określenie istoty technologii blockchain oraz możliwości jej wykorzystania w działalności przedsiębiorstw. W opracowaniu omówiono znaczenie technologii blockchain i możliwości praktycznego jej zastosowania. Opierając się o raporty branżowe przedstawiono statystyki dotyczące inwestycji dokonywanych w przedsiębiorstwach w technologię blockchain, jak również stosunku kadry kierowniczej spółek do tej technologii oraz zasadności jej wdrażania. Sprecyzowano ponadto najważniejsze zalety technologii blockchain w stosunku do istniejących systemów informatycznych. Wskazano bariery organizacyjne, utrudniające inwestycje w tę technologię oraz wykorzystywane w spółkach rzeczywiste jej zastosowania. Z przeprowadzonych analiz wynika, że spółki na świecie aktywnie inwestują w technologię blockchain. Stwierdzono, że technologia ta jest pozytywnie postrzegana w biznesie przez zarządzających, jednak spółki planując ją wdrożyć napotykają na liczne bariery, które w dużej mierze wynikają z braku uregulowań prawnych, jak również problemów technicznych związanych z implementacją. Jednocześnie technologia blockchain może być wykorzystywana w wielu obszarach działalności przedsiębiorstw, zwłaszcza w łańcuchu dostaw.

Abstrakt	The deepening of the dualization of Ukraine's agriculture into "large" and "small" producers force the latters to search opportunities for competitive opposition to the firsts by intensive development of niche agriculture. The purpose of the study is to present the efficiency of niche agriculture in Ukraine, describing the main features of this branch and anticipating prospects and barriers to stable development. There are few scientific publications on this topic so far, so their use in the study was quite limited. Materials of specialized scientific conferences and publications of materials of practitioners are more widely used. The research methodology includes general methods (monographic, induction and deduction, analysis and synthesis, scientific generalization and abstraction) as well as economic research methods (comparisons, indexes). The results show, that niche agriculture in Ukraine is especially relevant for small farms, which can increase profitability not because of the number of products, but because of its niche character. Niche agriculture has advantages and disadvantages, so there is no reason to absolutize it as a panacea for all the problems of the small producers. The barriers to develop niche agriculture in Ukraine: the lack of the culture of consumption, of technology and of knowledge of niche products marketing.

Abstrakt	Logistics accounts for 14% of total GDP in the European Union countries, which shows the importance of the logistics service and performance of the European Union countries. Logistics market of EU-15 countries is well developed while most of EU-13 countries need to address poor railway infrastructure and other political issues related to corruption and lack of competitiveness. However, EU-13 economies are growing fast and can benefit even more from the improvements in logistics market. Therefor this paper aims to analyze logistics performance in the European Union, distinguishing between EU-15 and EU-13 countries. For our analysis we use Worlds Bank Logistics Performance Index (LPI) which is a tool that measures the quality, velocity, accuracy and simplicity of the logistics processes. The analysis covers the period from 2010 to 2018. The results of our analysis show that some EU-13 countries are lagging behind EU-15 countries in terms of logistics performance, while countries like Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary are the best logistics performers among all EU-13 countries. Results also shows us correlation between logistics performance and economic growth which imply that EU-13 countries must take step forward in their logistics performance in order to integrate in regional and global supply chain and thus enhance their economic position and competitiveness.
Abstract	Logistyka stanowi 14% całkowitego PKB krajów Unii Europejskiej, co wskazuje na duże znaczenie tego sektora dla wyników ekonomicznych krajów członkowskich Unii Europejskiej. Rynek logistyczny krajów UE-15 jest dobrze rozwinięty, podczas gdy większość krajów UE-13 powinno podjąć działania dla rozwoju słabej infrastruktury kolejowej oraz pochylić się nad kwestiami politycznymi związanymi z korupcją, czy brakiem konkurencyjności. Szybko rozwijające się gospodarki UE-13 mogą jednak skorzystać na poprawie rynku usług sektora logistycznego. Celem artykułu było określenie wydajności sektora logistyki w Unii Europejskiej z podziałem na kraje UE-15 i UE-13. W pracy wykorzystano wskaźnik wydajności logistyki według Banku Światowego (Logistics Performance Index – LPI), który jest narzędziem określającym jakość, szybkość, dokładność i prostotę procesów logistycznych. Analiza objęła okres od 2010 do 2018 roku. Wyniki wskazują, że niektóre kraje UE-13 pozostają w tyle za członkami UE-15 pod względem wyników logistycznych, podczas gdy kraje takie jak Polska, Czechy i Węgry osiągają najlepsze wyniki logistyczne wśród krajów UE-13. Wyniki wskazują również na korelację między wynikami logistyki a wzrostem gospodarczym. To oznacza, że kraje UE-13 muszą zrobić krok naprzód w swoich wynikach logistycznych, aby zintegrować się z regionalnym i globalnym łańcuchem dostaw, a tym samym poprawić swoją pozycję gospodarczą i konkurencyjność.

Abstrakt	As the energy sector worldwide is largely based on fossil fuel consumption, the amount of global-scale carbon emissions continues to increase over the years. One of the most important reasons for the increase in emissions, the transportation sector, continues to develop with globalization. The development of land, sea, and air transport together with international trade brings environmental problems in parallel with the increase in energy consumption. Accordingly, it is estimated that one fourth of total carbon emissions today originate from the transportation sector. In this context, in order to combat environmental problems such as global warming and climate change on an international scale, initiatives such as the Paris Climate Agreement are being implemented and environmental policies to reduce the amount of emissions are being recommended. The aim of this study is to examine environmental policies, which have been discussed extensively in the literature, in terms of fiscal policy. In this context, fiscal policy tools such as taxes, subsidies, incentives, and regulations specific to the transport sector were discussed. This study, in which the descriptive method is used, argues that fiscal policy practices can be an effective method in reducing the amount of carbon emissions.
Abstract	Sektor energetyczny na całym świecie w dużej mierze opiera się na paliwach kopalnych, co skutkuje ciągłym wzrostem emisji dwutlenku węgla na skalę światową. Jedną z najważniejszych przyczyn wzrostu emisji jest sektor transportu, którego rozwój jest powiązany z procesami globalizacji. Rozwój transportu lądowego, morskiego i lotniczego wraz z handlem międzynarodowym i zwiększonym zużyciem energii powoduje problemy środowiskowe. W związku z tym szacuje się, że jedna czwarta całkowitej emisji dwutlenku węgla pochodzi obecnie z sektora transportu. W tym kontekście, w celu zwalczania problemów środowiskowych, takich jak globalne ocieplenie i zmiany klimatyczne w skali międzynarodowej, wdrażane są takie inicjatywy, jak porozumienie klimatyczne z Paryża, a także zalecana jest polityka środowiskowa mająca na celu zmniejszenie ilości emisji. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest analiza polityki środowiskowej, która była szeroko omawiana w literaturze, pod kątem polityki fiskalnej. W tym kontekście omówiono narzędzia polityki fiskalnej, takie jak podatki, dotacje, zachęty i przepisy specyficzne dla sektora transportu. Niniejsze badanie, w którym zastosowano metodę opisową, dowodzi, że praktyki polityki fiskalnej mogą być skuteczną metodą zmniejszania ilości emisji dwutlenku węgla.

Abstrakt	The article analyses spatial concentration of marginal, localized and restricted activities creating local food systems in Poland regarded as short supply chains. Local food systems in Poland can take the forms of direct sale, direct deliveries, agricultural retail as well as marginal, localized and restricted activities. Short food supply chains play crucial role in case of local economy, environment and society. Thus, article rises issue connected with sustainability, alternatives for mass produced and distributed food, spatial diversity of local activities. Empirical part of the article focus on marginal, localized and restricted activities. The first part of the article contains a characteristic of the analyzed activities and their spatial distribution. The second part identifies factors that have the strongest influence on the formation of marginal, localized and restricted activities with the application of nonparametric models of regression trees. It is reported that spatial and environmental factors occur most frequently in the process of recurrent division of the data set and, thus, constitute the strongest determinant of marginal, localized and restricted activities.
Abstract	W artykule analizie poddano koncentrację przestrzenną podmiotów marginalnych, lokalnych i ograniczonych tworzących lokalne systemy żywnościowe w Polsce i utożsamianych z krótkimi łańcuchami dostaw. Lokalne systemy żywnościowe w Polsce mogą przybierać formy organizacyjno-prawne takie jak: sprzedaż bezpośrednia, dostawy bezpośrednie, rolniczy handel detaliczny oraz działalności marginalną, lokalną i ograniczoną. Krótkie łańcuchy dostaw żywności odgrywają kluczową rolę w lokalnej gospodarce, środowisku i społeczeństwie. W artykule poruszono zatem problematykę związaną ze zrównoważonym rozwojem, alternatywami dla masowo produkowanej i dystrybuowanej żywności, przestrzennym zróżnicowaniem lokalnych podmiotów. Część empiryczna artykułu oparta jest na analizie podmiotów marginalnych, lokalnych i ograniczonych. W pierwszej kolejności dokonano charakterystyki analizowanych podmiotów i ich rozmieszczenia przestrzennego. Następnie, wykorzystując nieparametryczne modele drzew regresji, zidentyfikowano czynniki, które najsilniej wpływają na powstawanie podmiotów marginalnych, lokalnych i ograniczonych. Dostrzeżono, że czynniki przestrzenno- środowiskowe występują najczęściej w procesie rekurencyjnego podziału zbioru danych, a tym samym stanowią najsilniejszą determinantę działalności marginalnej, lokalnej i ograniczonej.

Taking into account the analysed indicators of food security, reserves have been identified for improving the growth of food security in the strategy of sustainable development of Ukraine and the world. A cumulative interrelated analysis of pandemic and post-pandemic poverty growth, declining profitability, and price differentiation in food security has been conducted. The assessment of divergent changes in the food sector of Ukraine and other countries is carried out taking into account the challenges of the environmental environment. The results of the study on food security can be used in the management of the economy and the agro-industrial sector as one of the goals of sustainable development.

Abstrakt	The research presents the analysis of relations between financial sustainability and value of joint-stock companies from food industry in Central and Eastern Europe. Increase of volume of assets, shareholders’ equity and revenues demonstrated an improvement of financial sustainability and resulted in growing valuations of companies in the study period. Sample business entities achieved relatively high liquidity and profitability that proved their financial sustainability in terms of risk and return. At the same time rising operating profit margins and liquidity ratios determined higher enterprise value of joint-stock companies. This emphasized a positive relation between enterprise value and financial sustainability. Joint-stock companies demonstrated a robust capital structure with a minor decrease of corporate debt in 2011-2015. However changes in sources of financing could provoke a trade-off between financial sustainability and enterprise value. According to a regression model factors positively influencing enterprise value included revenue, cash and cash equivalents, operating profit, current liabilities and shareholder’s equity. Stimulating revenue and increasing operating profit as well as maintaining higher cash balances improves financial sustainability while debt extension can significantly deteriorate continuity of business.

Sample business entities achieved relatively high liquidity and profitability that proved their financial sustainability in terms of risk and return. At the same time rising operating profit margins and liquidity ratios determined higher enterprise value of joint-stock companies. This emphasized a positive relation between enterprise value and financial sustainability. Joint-stock companies demonstrated a robust capital structure with a minor decrease of corporate debt in 2011-2015. However changes in sources of financing could provoke a trade-off between financial sustainability and enterprise value. According to a regression model factors positively influencing enterprise value included revenue, cash and cash equivalents, operating profit, current liabilities and shareholder’s equity. Stimulating revenue and increasing operating profit as well as maintaining higher cash balances improves financial sustainability while debt extension can significantly deteriorate continuity of business.

Abstrakt	This paper aims to provide preliminary evidence about the existence of horizontal integration between the rapeseed markets in Ukraine (UA) and the European Union (EU). To this end, both a trade analysis and a price analysis were carried out. In particular, the trade analysis was performed using yearly trade flows between the UA and EU, whereas price co-movement was assessed by means of linear vector error correction model (VECM) applied to weekly prices for rapeseed from 2008 to 2018. Our findings provide evidence of strong integration between the UA and EU markets in terms of the trade of rapeseeds, rape cake, and rape oil, as well as high horizontal rapeseed price transmission between the two economies.
