Abstrakt | W pracy dokonano oceny zmian organizacyjnych i produkcyjności w polskim rolnictwie w kontekście wybranych oddziaływań środowiskowych, tj. salda bilansu azotu brutto. Dla wskazania zachodzących tendencji porównywano zmiany pomiędzy okresem lat 2002-2004 a latami 2014-2016. Badania wykazały, że mimo różnokierunkowych zmian m.in. powierzchni poszczególnych roślin uprawnych i pogłowia gatunków zwierząt inwentarskich, kształtowanych głównie przez uwarunkowania ekonomiczne, presja środowiskowa ze strony prowadzonej produkcji rolniczej w Polsce uległa zmniejszeniu. Nastąpiło to, w procesie intensyfikowania produkcji rolniczej przeciętnie w skali kraju. Zjawisko to świadczy o poprawie efektywności gospodarowania azotem w Polsce. |
Abstract | The paper presents the assessment of organizational and productivity changes in Polish agriculture in the context of selected environmental impacts, i.e. the gross nitrogen balance. To indicate trends, changes between research from 2002-2004 and 2014-2016 were compared. Studies have shown that despite multi-directional changes in the area of particular crop plants and livestock husbandry animals, which have been shaped mainly by economic conditions, environmental pressure from agricultural production has decreased. This occurred despite the process of intensifying average agricultural production on a national scale. This phenomenon shows the improvement of nitrogen efficiency in Poland. |

Abstrakt | Celem artykułu była ocena konstrukcji stosowanego wskaźnika stabilizacji rynków rolnych w Polsce podlegających interwencji rynkowej, który oparto na zmianach średniorocznych krajowych cen skupu podstawowych produktów rolnych, a także obliczenie i analiza wartości tego wskaźnika w latach 2004–2017. Analiza wykazała, że z powodu znacznej zależności krajowych cen skupu od cen w innych krajach Unii Europejskiej wskaźnik ten może być wykorzystywany do oceny działalności instytucji interwencyjnej w Polsce po uwzględnieniu wpływu cen unijnych na rynek krajowy. |
Abstract | The aim of the article was to assess the structure of the applied stabilisation index of agricultural markets in Poland subject to market intervention, which was based on changes in average annual domestic procurement prices of basic agricultural products, as well as the calculation and analysis of the value of this indicator in 2004–2017. The analysis showed that due to the significant dependence of domestic procurement prices on prices in other European Union countries, this ratio can be used to assess operations of the intervention institution in Poland after considering the impact of EU prices on the domestic market. |

Abstrakt | In the world renewable energy sector, including large hydropower, employed 10.3 million people, directly and indirectly, in 2017. This represents an increase of 5.3% over the number reported the previous year. The aim of the executed research is to determine the influence of harvesting renewable energy on the labour market in EU. Eurostat databases provided a source of empirical data concerning the amount of produced energy. The following sectors were considered: solid biofuels, biogas, liquid biofuels, geothermal, hydropower, municipal waste, solar photovoltaic, solar thermal, wind power and heat pumps. The research concerned 28 Member States of the EU between 2009 and 2016. Panel estimation was used as means of empirical indication of relations between the variables. The obtained models are adjusted to the empirical data, the rectified coefficient of determination equalled, depending on the sector, 0.828 (liquid biofuels) to 0.981 (solid biofuels). The analysed models show that throughout the examined period, the solar and wind power sectors were the ones that consumed the larger amount of work. As it was indicated above, these sectors are considered the most innovative and technologically advanced ones and thus, the employment rates seem to decreased in the shorter time. |

Abstrakt | Celem badań było określenie wpływu prognozowanej zmiany cen środków do produkcji rolnej, plonów oraz cen sprzedaży produktów na opłacalność uprawy pszenicy ozimej, żyta ozimego i jęczmienia jarego w 2022 roku. Rezultaty badań wskazują na poprawę wyników produkcyjnych i cenowych badanych zbóż. Stwierdzono, że najsilniejszy wzrost przychodów odnotują producenci żyta. Zbadano również zakres odchyleń od wyników projekcji zbóż, ze względu na jednostkowe zmiany plonu, ceny i kosztów uprawy. Wyniki wskazują, że żyto i jęczmień jary charakteryzuje dość duża wrażliwość na każdy z czynników dochodotwórczych, natomiast w przypadku pszenicy ozimej siła ich oddziaływania jest słabsza. Postępujące procesy integracji powodują, że tego typu rozważania należy prowadzić z uwzględnieniem przewidywanych zmian na rynku unijnym. W związku z tym wyniki zaprezentowano na tle zmian jakie do 2030 roku przewiduje Komisja Europejska. |
Abstract | The aim of the research was to determine the impact of the forecasted change in the prices of agricultural production, yield and product sales prices on the profitability of winter wheat, winter rye and spring barley in 2022. Research results indicate an improvement in the production and price results of the examined cereals. We calculate that the strongest forecasted revenue increase is observed in the case of rye producers. The range of deviations from cereal projection due to unit changes in yield, price and cultivation costs were also examined. The results indicate that rye and spring barley are characterized by quite high sensitivity to each of the income-generating factors, while in the case of winter wheat the strength of their impact is weaker. The progressive integration processes indicate that our considerations should take into account the anticipated changes on the EU market. Thus the results are presented in the light of predicted changes in the European Commission 2030 forecast. |

Abstrakt | The idea of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) represents the voluntary effort that companies invest in social life. Companies incorporate the concept of CSR strategy in their businesses, knowing its importance to the benefit of the public at large and to sustainable development. Any activity of any major company is exposed to public opinion, which plays a key role in shaping the image of the company. Companies compete to win social trust and acceptance of their activity. The aim of the article was to present the value and significance of CSR activities undertaken by companies, using the example of two businesses, i.e. Polski Koncern Naftowy (PKN) Orlen and Kompania Piwowarska in reference to sustainable development. The article compares the CSR measurement matrix that allows assessing whether a given company is socially responsible, to what extent CSR activities affect the company's stakeholders and to what extent they are consistent with sustainable development (assigning particular CSR development tools by Stakeholders applying the weights from 1 to 3). ISO 26000 standards define the principles of social and environmental responsibility as a guide for organizations and in the analysed companies are a tool that exerts one of the greatest impacts on stakeholders. For both companies, the most important stakeholders are Shareholders and Managers, and they are the ones who, to the largest extent, conduct a socially responsible dialogue for which all CSR development tools are important. Both companies conduct key activities, PKN Orlen used 91% and Kompania Piwowarska 73% of all CSR development tools considered in this study. |

Abstrakt | This paper discusses the issues related to the implementation of the land reform in Ukraine. The purpose of the research is to work out a system of measures aimed at developing land relations, in particular, the introduction of the land market in Ukraine, as well as determining the economic impact of the effective turnover of land plots. The analysis of the economic situation in Ukraine over the past 10 years has been carried out. Issues related to land legislation, in particular land valuation, are briefly identified. The institutions without functioning of which the introduction of the land market is impossible, are established. The conducted analysis gave basis to the proposal of preconditions of economic, legal and institutional character, necessary for the successful development of land relations. The article also proposes mortgage refinancing mechanism through the issue of mortgage land securities. |

Abstrakt | It is established that the Ukrainian agrarian sector in recent years suffered quite serious reformational impacts on the institutional environment of the functioning of economic actors, in particular the influence of regulators on the transformation of agricultural development. It is substantiated that under institutional transformations it is appropriate to understand the changes that occur as part of the creation of new rules of conduct of participants, containing a specific mechanism for ensuring compliance with these rules, as well as improving organizational and economic regulators within the existing set of rules for all participants It is determined that the institutional system is a structured set of interrelated informal rules that determine, on the one hand, a system of incentives for increasing the efficiency of interaction between subjects of the agrarian economy, and, on the other hand, restricts the activities of economic agents, which create a certain framework for implementation their target functions in accordance with the law and public interests. |

Abstrakt | A systematic analysis of trends in the development of organic products in Ukraine and Poland was carried out, which showed that the total area of certified ecological lands for the study period from 2006-2016 in Ukraine increased by 1.7 times, and in Poland from 2004-2014 it increased by 12 times. It has been established that the most significant impact on qualitative structural changes in the economic sector is adjustment to European standards that establish a favorable system of agricultural production regulation, marking and inspection of organic products. This is why Poland, while being in the European Union, has a significant advantage over Ukraine. The system of control and certification by the authorized bodies is generalized, as well as the mechanism of financial support for organic agricultural production. The necessity of using the experience of Poland with the purpose of greening agriculture and development of organic agricultural production in Ukraine is emphasized. |

By also taking the dynamic increase in sales profitability into account, one can draw some positive conclusions about the intensive management seen within the dairy sector. Abstrakt | Tendencies in national actions against foreign products currently observed in the European Union indicate protectionism or at least discrimination. The aim of this article is describe economic mechanisms of applying selected import-related policy instruments of Member States and to identify some potential directions of their impact on the functioning of the EU agri-food internal market. The presented mechanisms are related to three situations: (a) hindering the market entry through retargeting of consumer demand; (b) promotion of own products contrary to the fair rules of competition; (c) limiting economic activity of foreign companies. The analyses carried out allowed to identify economic activity areas, where negative effects could reveal and to state that the potential result of these activities may be selective reduction of trade or change of its directions. |

Abstrakt | W artykule scharakteryzowano upodobania konsumentów z gmin wiejskich woj. podkarpackiego, dotyczące rodzaju i odbioru reklam, a także ich wpływ na realizację zakupu towarów. W interpretacji empirycznych wyników badania, przeprowadzonego wśród 500 konsumentów, wykazano zainteresowanie rodzajami form i elementów reklam, najskuteczniejsze przekazy reklamowe decydujące o zakupie towarów, rodzaj dóbr i usług nabywanych pod wpływem reklam, jak również stosunek do reklamowanych nowych produktów wchodzących na rynek. W kontekście przeprowadzonej analizy należy stwierdzić, że najważniejsze znaczenie dla mieszkańców obszarów wiejskich woj. podkarpackiego miały reklamy telewizyjne i internetowe, reklamy cechujące się oryginalnością oraz walorami estetycznymi, w tym zwłaszcza muzyką. W podejmowaniu decyzji zakupu towarów reklamy miały wpływ w przypadku 46% badanych. Bardziej pozytywne nastawienie do reklam i podatne na nie były kobiety. |
Abstract | The article describes the preferences of consumers from rural communities of the Podkarpackie Province, regarding the type and reception of advertisements, as well as their impact on the purchase of goods. In the empirical interpretation of research results, conducted among 500 consumers, interest in various types and elements of advertising was pointed out, along with the most effective advertising messages determining the purchase of goods, type of goods and services purchased under the influence of advertising, as well as the approach to advertised new products being launched in the market. In the context of the analysis, it should be stated that the most important for the inhabitants of rural areas of the Podkarpackie Province were TV and internet advertisements, and advertisements characterized by originality and aesthetic values, especially music. The decisions to buy goods were influenced by advertisements according to 46% of respondents. Women were more positively-oriented towards advertisements and more susceptible to ads. |

The social capital affects the creation of the unique value of an enterprise, mainly through the structures of the connections network, social and cultural norms as well as trust (Dziura, 2016). The present paper is an attempt to analyse and describe the impact of social capital on development of selected enterprises in the Podkarpackie province. Authors of the article, due to the conducted surveys, application of statistical methods and analysis of financial reports, aim at presenting the effects of investing in social capital. |

Abstrakt | Celem artykułu jest ocena postrzegania i percepcji reklamy artykułów żywnościowych w społeczeństwie polskim oraz jej wpływu na decyzje zakupowe konsumentów. Podstawą artykułu są wyniki badań ankietowych przeprowadzonych w 2014 roku wśród populacji powyżej 15 roku życia. Z badań wynika, że reklamy artykułów żywnościowych dość często oceniane są jako atrakcyjne i wiarygodne, a podatność na oddziaływanie reklamy artykułów żywnościowych deklaruje niespełna połowa badanych. Występuje przy tym duże zróżnicowanie ocen z punktu widzenia zarówno cech demograficznych respondentów, jak i poszczególnych kategorii produktowych. |
Abstract | The aim of the article is to assess perception of advertising of food products in the Polish society and its impact on consumer purchasing decisions. The grounds for the article are findings of the surveys conducted in 2014 among the population aged above 15 years. The findings show that advertisements of food products are quite often assessed as attractive and reliable, while the susceptibility to the impact of advertising of food products is declared by less than half of the population surveyed. There is also great diversification of assessments from the point of view of both respondents’ demographic traits and individual product categories. |

Abstrakt | The aim of the article is to analyse the scale of use and to assess the services related to modern information and communication technologies at food processing enterprises and to identify the dependencies between the obtained indices and the features characterising the entities surveyed. The grounds for considerations are findings of the surveys with 201 managers of enterprises of this sector, differentiated in terms of size. The analysis comprised the three areas of ICT services: telecommunications services, services related to software and consultancy in the IT area, and information-related services. The results indicate a wide scope of the use of ICT services – telecommunication services are used by all the entities surveyed, those related to software and consultancy – by three quarters, while information-related services – by almost 60%. In case of all entities there are noted growing outlays on their application, justified, on the one side, by the demand, and, on the other side, by high appraisals of their quality and up-to-datedness (more than 70% of indications) as well as their impact on competitiveness of the entities using them (percentages at the level of more than 60%). It must be said that there occur quite big differences in the indices obtained, due to the features of the enterprises in question. Most often statistically significant dependencies appear in case of information-related services – they are determined by the size of enterprises and the origin of their capital. In case of the services related to software and IT consultancy, the said dependencies also concern the enterprises’ size and, additionally, the range of their activities. Definitely most seldom the statistically significant dependencies occur in case of telecommunication services. |

Abstrakt | The Polish rural population is highly differentiated in terms of occupational situation, mainly because of the rural population’s involvement in individual farming. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the occupational situation of the rural farming and landless population in 2002, 2016 and 2017 in the context of non-farming job opportunities and unemployment risks. The study consists of two parts; the first one analyses the changes to the occupational situation of the rural population in the labour market; the second one identifies the risk of unemployment in selected groups of rural population. Aggregated weighted data and non-aggregated, non-published non-weighted BAEL (Polish LFS) data was used as source material. The study period witnessed a considerable improvement of the rural population’s occupational situation. However, if there is a slowdown in economic growth, the occupational situation of the rural population may deteriorate. In the short and medium term, people involved in individual farming and landless woman, i.e. the group where the real unemployment rate is much lower than equilibrium unemployment, will be particularly severely affected. In the longer term, the adverse impact of business cycles may also deteriorate the situation of landless men if their equilibrium unemployment level “follows” the real unemployment rate. |

Abstrakt | Celem artykułu było zaprezentowanie przeglądu badań na temat pomiaru mnożnika w rozwoju rolnictwa. Na początku, na podstawie literatury przedmiotu, przedstawiono kilka wybranych wyników analiz oraz wnioski, jakie z nich wypływają. Następnie szerzej omówiono dwie metody. Pierwsza z nich to macierz rachunkowości społecznej (SAM), dzięki której można obliczyć wartości mnożników dla poszczególnych krajów. Natomiast druga omówiona metoda to model input-output (przepływów międzygałęziowych), do której zalicza się model IMPLAN. Metoda ta pozwala oszacować regionalne tabele przepływów międzygałęziowych, obliczyć mnożniki oraz dokonać analizy wpływu przemysłu. Zaprezentowane wyniki badań pozwalają stwierdzić, że w gospodarkach mniejszych, które są bardziej otwarte, wielkość mnożnika jest niższa niż w gospodarkach większych. Można również zauważyć, że wśród badaczy nie ma zgodności co do wielkości mnożników. |
Abstract | The aim of this article was to present a review of research on measuring the multiplier in agricultural development. Firstly, based on the literature of the subject, several selected results of the analyses and the conclusions that emerge from this research are presented. Two methods are further discussed. The first is a social accounting matrix (SAM), which enables calculating the value of multipliers for each country. The second method discussed is the input-output model, which includes the IMPLAN model. This method allows estimating regional input-output tables, calculating multipliers, and analysing the impact of industry. The presented results indicate that in smaller and more open economies the value of the multiplier is lower than in larger economies. It can also be noted that among researchers there is no agreement concerning the size of the multiplier. |

A leading EVA is a sign that the company has a greater value. The goal of this study is to identify if SMEs' actions carried out on a daily basis are able to generate economic value added for their business. The study is based on a comparative study between Hungary and 28 EU countries. The study is carried out in Hungary’s region of Somogy county. First, the variables for research were created and research was carried out at ground level. The research used the Expletory Factor analysis method to find EVA determinants. The results showed that determinants work together to reshape the regional industrial growth. The research demonstrated that finance and sluggish production are the major determinants in Somogy county. Entrepreneurs' skills and finance have the major impact, which means that to achieve a high growth in SMEs, policy makers have to solve these two problems and make the policy concentric toward finance and high skill development problem. |

Abstrakt | W XXI wieku konkurencyjna gospodarka regionu jest gospodarką opartą na wiedzy i nowych technologiach. Przedsiębiorstwa typu startup wraz z ekosystemem startupowym stały się wyznacznikiem innowacyjności regionu. Artykuł ma na celu ukazanie zależności pomiędzy rozwojem krakowskiego środowiska startupowego a wzrostem konkurencyjności województwa małopolskiego. Za podstawowe czynniki oddziałujące na konkurencyjność Małopolski uznano liczbę udzielonych patentów na wynalazki krajowe przez Urząd Patentowy RP, dynamikę zatrudnienia w B+R, nakłady inwestycyjne na B+R, liczbę przedsiębiorstw z kapitałem zagranicznym oraz PKB per capita w cenach bieżących. Po przeprowadzonej analizie korelacji wykazano, że najsilniejsze zależności zachodzą pomiędzy PKB per capita w cenach bieżących a liczbą przedsiębiorstw z kapitałem zagranicznym oraz nakładami inwestycyjnymi na B+R. Główny ośrodek miejski, jakim jest w analizowanym obszarze Kraków, stał się magnesem skupiającym wokół siebie osoby zakładające startupy, budujące innowacyjną gospodarkę oraz całe zaplecze biznesowe. Krakowski ekosystem startupowy ma pozytywny wpływ na konkurencyjność regionu małopolskiego z uwagi na gromadzenie wysoko wykwalifikowanego kapitału społecznego, krajowych i zagranicznych inwestorów, fundacji i instytucji wspierających pomysłodawców w zmaterializowaniu idei, działalności instytucji i administracji publicznej w kierunku współpracy z obszarem nauki i biznesu. |
Abstract | In the 21st century, a region's competitive economy is an economy based on knowledge and new technologies. Startups with the startup ecosystem have become a determinant of a region's innovation. The article aims to show the dependence between the development of the Krakow startup environment and the increase in the competitiveness of the Malopolska region. The number of patents granted for national inventions by the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland, the dynamics of employment in R&D, capital expenditures on R&D, the number of enterprises with foreign capital and GDP per capita in current prices were considered the basic factors affecting the competitiveness of Malopolska. After the analysis of the correlation, it was shown that the strongest relationships occur between GDP per capita in current prices and the number of enterprises with foreign capital and investment outlays for R&D. The main city center, which is in the analyzed area of Krakow, has become a magnet for gathering people, creating startups, building an innovative economy and all business facilities. The Krakow startup ecosystem has a positive impact on the competitiveness of the Malopolska region due to the accumulation of highly qualified social capital, domestic and foreign investors, foundations and institutions supporting originators in materializing the idea, activities of institutions and public administration towards cooperation with the science and business area. |
