Abstrakt	The aim of the study is to present the pro-ecological (i.e. favourable for ecology, acting in favour of environment)attitudes of people who study at the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the Warsaw University of LifeSciences – SGGW. The theoretical part discusses the concept and the essence of ecology and ecologicalawareness, as well as the elements and significance of ecological education. In the practical part, the attitudeof the group of students of the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the WULS-SGGW to the necessity of pro-ecologicalbehaviours and their expectations regarding the ways of propagating knowledge and activities in thefield of environmental education is presented. It turned out that more than 90% of the respondents considersuch behaviours as a necessary one, while around 60% believe that the entities responsible for promotingit among the society – in the form of obligatory education – should be schools and universities. Finally, thestudy contains original conclusions and findings regarding the observations made during the research.

Abstrakt	The article presents a brief outline of the evolution in pro-ecological attitudes both in macro- and microeconomic terms. As a result, two major business models of a modern enterprise that recognise ecological responsibility as a priority for business activity are identified. The discussion also contains the synthetic analysis of the “Global Green Ranking 2016” and the presentation of its leaders.
Abstract	W artykule przedstawiono krótki zarys ewolucji w postawach proekologicznych, zarówno w ujęciu makro-, jaki i mikroekonomicznym. Wskazano dwa główne modele biznesu współczesnego przedsiębiorstwa, które uznają odpowiedzialność ekologiczną za jeden z priorytetów działania na rynku. Uzupełnieniem tych rozważań jest syntetyczna analiza i ocena liderów „Global Green Ranking 2016”.

Abstract	The text contains selected results of empirical studies diagnosing environmental awareness and attitudes of rural residents in the area of the (so-called) Polish Green Lungs of the European Ecological Network Natura 2000. Among the formal and informal sources of information and incentives to foster pro-environmental attitudes – one focuses on education, which is particularly difficult. In order to deepen and disseminate the environmental attitudes there is a need of an increased effort and a variety of stimuli, supporting factors and fixatives. Coherent administrative, economic, legal and educational stimuli are needed: coupled in time and organized in the way, which ensures synergies in the form of the desired pro-ecological attitudes of residents – one of the pillars of sustainable development
