Abstrakt	Celem artykułu jest wskazanie problemów budowy rynku żywnościowych produktów tradycyjnych. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na słabość wynikającą, z jednej strony, z jego małej pojemności, na co składa się słaba znajomość produktów tradycyjnych wśród polskich konsumentów. Z drugiej strony przyczynia się do tego jego niszowość, słaba dystrybucja oraz cały system powiązań i wspólnych działań.
Abstract	The aim of this article is to indicate problems connected with the process of building a traditional food products market. Special attention is paid to its weakness ensuing from its small capacity caused by poor knowledge of traditional products among Polish consumers. On the other hand the paper points out to a niche like character, a poor distribution network and a whole system of connections and common activities in this market.

Abstrakt	Przystąpienie Polski do UE okazało się korzystne dla polskiego rolnictwa i zakładówprzetwórstwa rolno-spożywczego. Wbrew wcześniejszym obawom nie zalała nas żywność z państwEuropy Zachodniej oraz nie było masowej upadłości firm z sektora żywnościowego. Rosnący eksportpolskiej żywności na wspólny unijny rynek oraz dodatnie saldo w handlu artykułami rolnospożywczymiświadczy o konkurencyjności polskiego sektora rolnego oraz przetwórstwa. Głównymelementem przewag komparatywnych obu tych sektorów w Polsce w odniesieniu zwłaszcza dorozwiniętych krajów UE, są niższe ceny produktów wynikające z niższej opłaty pracy ludzkiej iniższe koszty innych czynników produkcji. Wraz ze wzrostem płac przewagi te będą maleć, stądpowinna rosnąć m.in. wydajność pracy oraz nastąpić poprawa jakości produkowanych produktów.
Abstract	The accession of Poland to the European Union turned out to be beneficial for the Polishagriculture as well as for Polish food processing plants. On the contrary to the previous anxiety, thePolish market was not flooded with the merchandise from the European Union countries. Similarly, amass bankruptcy of the agri-food companies did not take place. The increase of exports of Polish foodinto the Common European Market as well as the positive trade balance of agricultural and foodproducts both prove that Polish agricultural and food processing sectors are competitive. The keyfactor of comparative advantages of the above mentioned sectors in Poland compared with, inparticular, the developed countries of the European Union is a lower prices especially resulting fromlower remuneration of labour as well as from lower costs of other production factors. However, alongwith the increase of salaries, the advantages of Polish producers will be diminished. Consequently, thelabour productivity as well as the quality of products shall become higher

Abstrakt	Reforma WPR z 2003 r. redukująca premie do produkcji zwierzęcej oraz zmiany w polskimsystemie płatności bezpośrednich (od 2007 r. płatności uzupełniające do powierzchni użytkówzielonych oraz powierzchni paszowych uzależnione od obsady zwierząt żywionych systememwypasowym większej niż 0,3 SD/ha) mogą przyczynić się do zmian struktury produkcji zwierzęcej.Istnieją przesłanki by przypuszczać, że wzrośnie chów bydła mięsnego. W gospodarstwachekstensywnych, realizujących programy rolnośrodowiskowe, oraz w gospodarstwachagroturystycznych może wzrosnąć zainteresowanie chowem koni i owiec (szczególnie lokalnych raszagrożonych wyginięciem) oraz kóz. Na rynkach europejskich istnieją praktycznie nieograniczonemożliwości zbytu koniny, zarówno żywca, jak i mięsa. Z ekonomicznego punktu widzenia hodowlakoni może być zatem szansą dla ekstensywnych gospodarstw rolnych.
Abstract	CAP reform in 2003 including the reduction in subsidies to animal production and theessential changes in the Polish system of direct payments (payments attached to the surface ofgrasslands and fodder crops, depending on the livestock density in terms feed units per hectare ofagricultural land > 0.3) in 2007 can contribute to changes in the structure of the animal production.There are reasons for expecting a growth of meat cattle breeding. In extensive farms participating inthe agri-environmental programs and farms specializing in agri-tourism an interest in breeding horses,sheep (particularly races threatened with extinction) and goats can grow. Practically limitlesspossibilities of selling the horse products exist in the European markets, both live animals and meat.From an economic point of view horse breeding can become a chance for extensive farms

Abstrakt	Pod wpływem przyjęcia przez Polskę przepisów Unii Europejskiej wzrosły wymagania, które należy spełnić aby wprowadzić środek ochrony roślin do obrotu i stosowania. W długim okresie będzie to miało zapewne pozytywny wpływ na stan środowiska naturalnego w Polsce, jednak obecnie najbardziej dostrzegalny jest spadek liczby dostępnych środków ochrony roślin oraz ich substancji aktywnych. Zjawisku temu towarzyszy ograniczanie zakresu stosowania preparatów ponownie rejestrowanych.
Abstract	The EU accession caused an increase of requirements regarding placing plant protection products in the market. In the long run it will probably influence positively the state of natural environment in Poland. At present however the most visible effect is a decline in number of registered plant protection products and their active substances. This is accompanied by reduction of approved use of re-registered plant protection products.

W Polsce warunki do produkcji metodami ekologicznymi są sprzyjające. Integracja z Unią Europejską stworzyła możliwości wzrostu tego sektora gospodarki żywnościowej.
Abstract	Presentation of the current state of organic agriculture in Poland is the aim of this article, its changes as well as prognoses for the farms using organic methods of production. The analysis was conducted using studies by GUS, IJHARS as well as statistical data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, relating to farms using organic methods in Poland. Conditions for organic production are favourable in Poland. The integration with the European Union created a possibility of growth of this sector of food economy

Abstract	The article presents the results of public opinion poll about purchase habit. The data covering the period from 1998 to 2004, showing the changes of a liking for shopping. Consumer’s behavior is close to be European standard. The dissertation shows main economic factor of shopping decision. The shopping preferences are linked to household income, which influence also the food consumption level. Inadequate financial means cause the changes of consumer’s habits. Customers show most interest in those shops which compete with others via attractive prices. The main reasons of the choice of main shopping outlet are: low prices, high quality of products, proximity to home, pleasant staff, attractiveness of offered goods, habit, business hours, plus promotions and sales.

Abstrakt
Abstract	Food safety and quality are main issues in food economics. The first part of this paper deals with food quality in Poland before and after the process of integration with the EU. The conducted analysis have confirmed the improvement of Polish food quality. The sanitary conditions of Polish processing plants have also improved. But the concentration of nitrates is still very high in some vegetable products. The second part contains an analysis of the Polish exports and imports and their changes in the economic transition process. Wheat imports were higher than exports. In addition to this, the survey proved that Poland is self-sufficient in food production and food safety has improved in the transition period

Abstract	The paper aims to evaluate whether or not the last EU enlargement to the new 10 member states (EUN-10) has influenced the intra EU trade of agricultural products. In particular, the analysis focuses on the effects on trade between two groups of countries EU-15 and EUN-8 (i.e. the Central-Eastern Europe new members countries) of the EU-accession process. The import-export flows show a noticeable increase in trade between the two areas over the last decade. This increase surely stems from the opening up process, but according to second best theory in international trade which applies to Customs Unions – it not necessarily favours efficiency as far as social welfare is concerned. The analysis shows also that the comparative advantages in certain products, which ten years ago fuelled trade, do not appear to have altered the position of the two groups of countries. Focusing on agricultural products the integration process, which was already underway during the pre-accession period, has maintained and not reduced their specific specialization.

Abstrakt
Abstract	Stockbreeding is a fast growing branch of agriculture. But in modern economic conditions Republic of Belarus has many problems with it. On the contrary the countries of Europe achieved big results in meat production. In most of them branch is export oriented. The authors analyze situation in meat production in the Republic of Belarus and give their opinion thereupon. The present conditions are unfavourable and the volume of meat production is falling. It is necessary for the government to assist meat producers.

Abstrakt
Abstract	The GATT agreement was the first to include agriculture and to cover both border protection and domestic and export subsidies for agricultural products. The round completed successfully in 1994. The subsequent Doha or Development round aimed at furthering progress launched in GATT has not been so successful. This paper explores why the Doha round has been difficult and why it now appears there will not be a meaningful agreement. Developing countries are much more numerous today in WTO, and they insist on an agreement to better their situation. Agricultural subsidies are still a major impasse between rich and poor countries. The absence of the industrial sector to balance agriculture also is an impediment. Furthermore, bilateral and regional agreements have made much more progress and provide many of the gains that might eventually come from a multilateral agreement. Recent work has concluded that domestic reforms are key to achieving the gains of any trade agreement, and they will be essential for Poland to capture the gains from EU membership
