Abstract | For national income accounting, policy decision-makers need information about state “country economy” of national economy. In this paper the economic fundamentals of African selected countries are explained in order to place these countries’ economies in perspective before continuing to examine the GDP settings of the countries in order to similarly place their agricultural sectors in perspective. Secondary economic data is sourced from different informal bodies as United Nations World Development Indicators, the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) websites, with the most consistent recently available data used. Some examples on GDP are given, GDP is a crucial measure of the size and health of an economy and the economic measurements are defined. The difference between GDP and GNP as well as GDP components are explained. Differences between microeconomics and macroeconomics are also illustrated. |

Abstract | The restrictions of African agricultural production are possible to overcome. The future prospects are favorable. A special role is there social and economic policy. To exploit the potential created by the means, is a need for political stability, economy and social and economic rights applicable conducive to private investors. The actions taken must support an agricultural producers, and a good policy for rural development. The most important factor in the development is an agricultural research and education. There is urgent need to improve the level of agricultural sciences. In the distant future you will need to develop effective programs, research and teaching in the ASS. |

Abstrakt | |
Abstract | The paper reviews the institutional structure or strategic framework, the Wine Industry Transformation Charter and Scorecard, adopted on 31 July 2007, through which good governance and social responsibility programmes are fostered, implemented and monitored in the South African wine industry. In other words, the paper outlines how the wine industry seeks to foster social change through integrated socioeconomic support structures, as based on the Wine Industry Plan (WIP). The wine charter and scorecard components are a representation of good governance in the industry, whereas the social capital development approach is the focus of social responsibility programmes in the wine industry. The seven components of the wine transformation charter are: (i) ownership, (ii) management/control, (iii) employment equity, (iv) skills development, (v) enterprise development, (vi) preferential procurement, and (vii) rural development, land reform and poverty alleviation. Five areas that constitute the programmes of social responsibility are: (i) the responsible alcohol use, (ii) rural development and poverty alleviation, (iii) security of tenure, (iv) land, and (v) sectoral determination. The implications for the agri-food sector and conclusions are provided. |

Następnie zaprezentowano wyniki badań empirycznych nad problemami marketingowymi wysokotowarowych producentów rolnych gospodarujących na terenie Prowincji Free State w RPA, które pozwoliły na identyfikację kluczowych ograniczeń marketingowych i potwierdziły istotność tego problemu. Na koniec zarekomendowano przedsięwzięcie systemu kroków w celu wsparcia farmerów w kwestiach związanych z marketingiem wytwarzanych przez nich produktów rolniczych. |
Abstract | In the article there were suggested sources of literature referring to theoretical aspects of agricultural products’ marketing and providing a historical background and showing complexity of land reform issue being run in Republic of South Africa until these days. Moreover, the outcomes of conducted empirical research on commercial farmers’ (operating in the Free State Province) marketing problems, which enabled the identification of key marketing constraints and confirmed significance of the problem, were presented and discussed. Finally, the article gives a number of practical recommendations on how to support commercial farmers in facing key constraints in marketing their products bothering them on a daily basis. |
