Autor | Mykola Orlykovskyi, Ludwik Wicki |
Tytuł | Znaczenie sektora agrobiznesu w Polsce i na Ukrainie |
Title | Agribusiness Sector in Poland and Ukraine |
Słowa kluczowe | agrobiznes, handel zagraniczny, wydajność pracy, struktura agrobiznesu, Ukraina |
Key words | agribusiness, foreign trade, labor productivity, agribusiness structure, Ukraine |
Abstract | The article attempts to compare the importance of agribusiness in the economy in Ukraine and Poland. The analysis covered the years 2001-2015. The data came from official statistical sources. It was found that the importance of agribusiness to the Polish economy decreased over the entire period considered, its share in GVA in whole economy in 2015 was 6%, while in Ukraine it was as much as 15% and in recent years has been increasing. Agrobusiness also had a high share in exports. In Poland, it was 15, and in Ukraine as much as 38% in 2015. The employment structure in agribusiness was dominated by employment in agriculture with a share of about 80% in both countries. The internal structure of agribusiness was more modern in Poland, where as much as 58% of gross value added of agribusiness was generated in the food processing sector. In Ukraine, it was only 24%. The importance of agribusiness in the Ukrainian economy was higher than in Poland, it also has there a more raw character. The bigger potential for further development of agribusiness is in Ukraine, due to the large agricultural land resources and the large potential for increased production and processing of food and its exports. |

Słowa kluczowe | organic production, agricultural production, quality, agriculture, control, certification, financial support |
Key words | organic production, agricultural production, quality, agriculture, control, certification, financial support |
Abstrakt | A systematic analysis of trends in the development of organic products in Ukraine and Poland was carried out, which showed that the total area of certified ecological lands for the study period from 2006-2016 in Ukraine increased by 1.7 times, and in Poland from 2004-2014 it increased by 12 times. It has been established that the most significant impact on qualitative structural changes in the economic sector is adjustment to European standards that establish a favorable system of agricultural production regulation, marking and inspection of organic products. This is why Poland, while being in the European Union, has a significant advantage over Ukraine. The system of control and certification by the authorized bodies is generalized, as well as the mechanism of financial support for organic agricultural production. The necessity of using the experience of Poland with the purpose of greening agriculture and development of organic agricultural production in Ukraine is emphasized. |

Słowa kluczowe | productivity gap, agriculture efficiency, production factors, agriculture development |
Key words | |
Abstrakt | The article attempts to compare the importance of agriculture and the dynamics of its development in Ukraine and Poland. The most important constraints on the development of Ukrainian agriculture were identified, including the unregulated land market, lack of coherent support programs for agriculture and rural areas, poorly developed infrastructure of the agricultural environment and lack of capital for development. It was found that agriculture in Ukraine is characterized by a high growth rate of productivity and production. The observed output gap in relation to agriculture in Poland is about 10 years. The agricultural sector in Ukraine has about 10% share in generating GDP and as much as 40% share in exports. Such high importance can be maintained even in the conditions of economic development, as there are large reserves in the development of agribusiness. The most important development factors include the introduction of a coherent program for the development of the agribusiness sector, including production of goods with high added value and increasing the availability of capital for the development of agriculture. A great opportunity is the development of trade in the conditions of affiliation with the EU. |

Słowa kluczowe | biogospodarka oparta na wiedzy, dyfuzja innowacji, model poczwórnej helisy, Ukraina |
Key words | knowledge based bioeconomy, innovation diffusion, quadruple helix model, Ukraine |
Abstract | The paper is an attempts to assess the state of development of the knowledge based bioeconomy in Ukraine. It also aims to evaluate how the current development complies in line with the concept of innovation diffusion model based on quadruple helix, and through, identify the most important factors strengthening and limiting this development. It was found that Ukraine has significant potential of production factors, in particular biomass, which so far is in limited scale used for the needs of a knowledge-based bioeconomy that is in infancy. The main reason is the low level of diffusion of innovation, mainly in the field of biotechnology. The current development in a low degree is based on the concept of quadruple helix, which on other hands also represents a high potential of growth for the coming years. Adequately oriented economic policies would greatly affect the development of a knowledge-based bioeconomy in Ukraine. |

Abstract | The article deals with the methodological principles of determining the indicators of the economic development of agricultural production, which are based on the requirements of the EU Common Agricultural Policy and which will identify the possibility of crises both in agriculture and its sub-sectors, as well as the national economy as a whole. The system which is reacting to the crisis indicators and allows assessment of the stability of economic development of agricultural production was proposed. Analytical approaches to diagnosis prehistory development and identify indicators – reacting to the crisis indicators by analyzing and evaluating indexes of dynamics in periods of stability (relatively stable path of development) and the crisis (sharp kink economic dynamics) and graphically analytical method of determination. For sectors show synthetic indicators (agricultural production, the level of monetization of the economy, import-export ratio) that serve as functional criteria for identify in previous periods of force majeure or crisis as precursor’s crisis. |
