Abstract

The aim of the paper is to present the current dilemmas of regional policy in Poland (the model of equalization vs. the model based on competitiveness and cohesion) in a context of the good governance rule. Realization of this aim was possible through a review of literature and documents connected with regional policy as well as issues of good governance. There were presented examples of good practices in implementation of rules of good governance in the phase of programming of the Polish regional policy on the base of works on and content of the National Strategy of Regional Development 2010–2020: Regions, Towns, Rural areas. However, presentation of such examples does not allow the confirmation of implementation of the good governance rule in the Polish regional policy because of continuous and permanent character of the rule and necessity of assessment of its implementation in the phases of realization and evaluation of the Strategy
