Abstract

The subject matter of the present publication is the diagnosis of entrepreneurial potential of commercial microenterprises, understood here as a relatively stable ability of a given subject to exhibit entrepreneurial behaviour. A significant supplement is the diagnosis of marketing activity of those companies, as well as of the marketing activity of business-related institutions functioning in the environment of the companies. The study involved over 400 companies – commercial microenterprises functioning in two regions of Poland: region A – in the west of the country, and region B – in the east. In both regions, the sample was similar in terms of number – about 200 companies in each of them. Entrepreneurial behaviour of commercial microenterprises in the studied regions of Poland present rather a pessimistic image of the condition of the entrepreneurial potential of those companies. The diagnosis of the entrepreneurial potential and marketing activity and making use of the institutions of business-related support create a coherent image of the entrepreneurship of SME sector companies
