Abstract	In this paper investigate the relationship between working capital management strategies, and financial situation of industrial companies. Autor used sample of 65 companies listed in the Polish Stock Exchange for the period of 2004–2008. The empirical findings show a relationship between working capital management strategies, and profitability and financial liquidity. A moderate strategy in the scope usually allowed to gain the highest level of effectiveness. Opposite approaches to working capital management usually do not ensure the optimal level of profitability and financial liquidity

Abstract	In this paper presented the financial situation of industrial enterprises according to the phases of the life cycle. The studies included 65 companies listed on the Stock Exchange in Warsaw. The period of research covered the years 2004–2008. All group of companies in 2008. have achieved lowest profitability. With foreign capital to the greatest extent benefited the companies in the growth phase. The companies in the growth phase characterized the highest level of financial liquidity.

Abstract	The elaboration presents chosen results of conducted research in dairy cooperatives in the 2000–2008 in aspect of efficiency of financial strategies. It evidenced the increased progression of improvements in cooperatives profitability. The strongest influence of these ratios was noticed in dairies which had had the highest equity and shareholders funds. Furthermore in these group noted also weaker relation between these funds and financial liquidity, whereas this financial indicator recorded stability and favorable level comparing to remain groups. The cooperative dairies which noticed higher profits and equity capital, decided to enlarge shareholders funds. It had resulted in secure of further development conducted activity. The application of net profit in cooperatives was useful in effectiveness’ of financial situation assessment

Abstract	Good governance principles are considered by the European Union to be a basic indicator serving in the assessment of the quality of the Community’s public management. Therefore, these principles should be treated as a reference point in the process of building all the necessary elements of the system of implementation of the EU tasks and activities. The same applies to the Common Agricultural Policy and to supporting within it the development of agriculture and rural areas. Following this the evaluation system should respect the good governance principles in most complex way that is possible and achievable. However, up to now, the development of the EU evaluation culture has not reached the level of comprehensive actual fulfillment of these principles and for the evaluation process to lead to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the CAP. Moreover, if the EU involvement in supporting the development of social responsibility of the agriculture is worth underlining it should be conducted via the introduction of different rules and regulations applicable in this sector, which combined with the competition typical of this part of the economy should lead to development of socially responsible agriculture.

Abstract	Process of integration of cooperative banks within the European banking system was associated with the need to raise their own capital and the consolidation of cooperative banking in early 2000. and increased competition, as well. Transfer of large amounts of EU funds to the banking accounts of farers and local governments contributed to the increase in the amount of deposits, and provided a cheap source of funding for banks. In this period banks were characterized by good profitability and efficiency. The scale of positive yield depended on the share of interest income in total income and the volume of lending. Additionally, for improvement in profitability contributed a higher proportion of deposits non-financial sector, as well as higher interest rates in the banking sector and decline in stock market indices, associated with higher interest rates and interest income.

Abstract	This article presents the problem of evolution of agri-business sector and its ability to function in the era of globalization and European integration. Describing the successive stages of development of Polish food the author wonders how they influenced the international cooperation of Polish enterprises and the opportunities arising from their positioning in the global economy. Special regard was given to privatization of enterprises in transition, subjected to the transformation and included in agri – food industry in the EU structures. The author argues that the mere inclusion of our country to the countries of market economy was a move to allow to join the globalized economic structures and legitimated active participation in international economic cooperation. It is considered that six years of operation in the EU structures changed our country both economically and politically. The EU membership has changed the structure of the economy and has continued transformation of privatization and modernization of most companies. Subsequent market-oriented transformation of corporate behavior forced the agribusiness sector and the high positioning of our economy to the international arena. Operation in the EU structures has opened a great opportunity for the Polish agri-business, for all its divisions, and only from wealth in the form of human and physical capital depends its development on a global scale

Abstract	After 15 years since beginning of the economic system transformation in 1989, substantial share of the polish sugar enterprises was characterised by domination of the state capital. In the research there were compared the strategies of operation in private sugar enterprises owned by chosen foreign investors and sugar processing companies grouped in the sugar holdings, possessed by the State. For that purpose operations of the research enterprises were decomposed into four function areas: production, human capital, marketing and finances. In result of undertaken analyses and comparisons of operation courses among groups of the sugar enterprises according to the above-mentioned areas, operation strategies realised by sugar enterprises grouped according to the differential ownership form were identified, described and evaluated.

The paper argues that the CAP increasingly covers issues of environment conservation and protection. The basic tool for that are public goods, which importance is growing, especially with regard to agri-environmental measures.

Abstract	This article presents the basic concepts of creativity-based economy (GOT) by R. Florida and its method of measurement. The economy of creativity was shown in the context of a knowledge economy (GOW) showing their common and different issues. Measurement of GOT were related to three areas, namely talent, technology and tolerance. Place of Poland in the ranking of European countries, America and Asia in terms of ratio GOT and GOW was also presented. By showing the measurement procedure GOT one has also referred to the research of the conditions and quality of life of the Poles, in which, inter alia, the level of human capital, professed values or tolerance of the population were determined.

Abstract	The paper presents analysis of financial situation of communes/municipalities in Poland in the period 2005–2009. A ratio analysis was used for the evaluation of the budget economy of communes. The communes were assessed according to the following criteria: independent profits, self-financing of expenditures, capacity to make loans and borrow as well as value of operating surplus and value of financial result. As a result of the survey a persistence of significant diversities of the financial situation of communes was stated in the regional diameter and its deterioration in the years 2008 and 2009.

Abstract	This paper aims at identifying the position of France in the field of possible evolution of the system of cross compliance and modulation of the direct payments. It is based on the arguments used by the French ministry of agriculture, representatives of farmers’ unions and organizations as well as agricultural policy experts from leading research institutes in France. France still applies the system of direct payments based on historical values and minimally decoupled. It favours a simplification of cross compliance rules and obligations. Moreover, it proposes to strengthen the sanitary and ecological requirements for the importers of animals, plants, and food into the European Union so as to create a level playing field for all competitors. Though reluctant to increase the modulation rate, France would support reconstructing it on the basis of not only farm size but also labour employed on farm. Finally, France proposes to extend the rules applied within pillar I of the CAP to pillar II instruments.

Title	The capital structure in pigs holdings of different economic size

Abstract	The paper aims to present the capital structure in pigs holdings of different economic size. A research was made in the holdings which produced 100 and more porkers per year and accordingly participated in Farm Data Accountancy Network in years 2004–2006. Holdings were divided into the two groups in accordance to the economic size (large and very large). It results from the research that holdings of different economic size differed in their efficiency of land, labor, capital and level of net debt. In the first group share of loan capital amounted to 17.0% but in second one– to 23.0%. As for the structure of loans, the majority of them were long and medium- term ones. These loans were fully secured with fixed assets. Loan capital led to the efficiency of own capital, especially in case of larger holdings. This group was characterized with higher labor efficiency and fixed assets, and more financial means was invested

Abstract	The process of funding in enterprise joins two inseparable and mutually related problems in enterprise – the investments assets delimitation and identifying possible sources of financing, which from the managers point of view, should also includes the costs of gaining additional capital. The correct utilization of capital in enterprise requires continuous monitoring of the financial effects of its performance in aspect of possessed assets. It leads to formulating the establish definitions in relation to economic quantities which helps to identify the major efficient financing sources in company activity. The methods and analysis tools should asses the most profitable level of loan capital and assure possibility to create the early warning system before financial losses appear in enterprise.
