Abstrakt	Najważniejszym etapem przy wycenie opcji jest właściwe oszacowanie zmienności instrumentu finansowego. W przypadku występowania w zbiorze danych finansowych obserwacji odstających oraz grubych ogonów w rozkładzie danych zastosowanie znajdują odporne estymatory. W pracy przedstawione zostały odporne estymatory zmienności: t-estymatory oraz Aestymatory pozwalające na dokładniejsze wyznaczenie parametru zmienności. Dokonaliśmy analizy porównawczej wartości opcji na indeks WIG20 WGPW biorąc pod uwagę klasyczne odchylenie standardowe, odchylenie medianowe MAD, Aestymator oraz t-estymator. Wartości opcji zostały wyznaczone za pomocą powszechnie stosowanego przez inwestorów modelu wyceny europejskiej opcji kupna Blacka-Scholesa. Ponadto, w pracy przedstawiliśmy narzędzia modelowania odpornego do wykrywania obserwacji wpływowych i nietypowych oraz do analizy wpływu odporności estymatorów na pewne odstępstwa od założonego modelu
Abstract	Correct estimation of volatility of financial asset is the most important stage in option pricing. Financial time series have two features which prevent use of conventional estimators of volatilities such as outliers and leptokurtotic tails of data distributions. In this paper, we presented robust estimators of volatility testimators and A-estimators, which are required to achieve stable and accurate results. We made comparative analysis of option’s values on index WIG20 in Warsaw Stock Exchange taking into consideration following volatility parameters: standard deviation, median absolute deviation, t-estimator and A-estimator. The values of options were estimated by generally known the Black-Scholes option pricing model. Besides, we presented three most popular robustness measures and powerful tools of robust statistic for outlying observations identification

Abstrakt	przeprowadzono badanie, którego celem było wykrycie zmian w spożyciu żywności w grupie 37 krajów europejskich. Wykorzystano dane FAO z lat 1993 i 2003 dotyczące spożycia produktów w 14 podstawowych grupach żywnościowych. Do klasyfikacji państw zastosowano aglomeracyjną metodę Warda. W odróżnieni od innych podobnych badań, analizę taksonomiczną przeprowadzono na wspólnym zbiorze obiektów klasyfikacji dla badanych lat. Badanie wykazało istnienie trwałych wzorców konsumpcji w większości krajów europejskich
Abstract	The studies were carried out to discover changes in profile of consumption for 37 European countries. Data of FAO for years 1993 and 2003, containing consumption of products in 14 basic group of food were used. The classification was made using the Ward method. The taxonomical analysis was performed on the one set of objects, for years 1993 and 2003 merged together as opposite to other similar studies. The analysis showed the existence in majority of European countries the stable patterns of consumption

Abstrakt	Rynek wyrobów tytoniowych w Polsce będąc znaczącym źródłem dochodów budżetowych państwa (7-7,5%) jest jedną z najważniejszych gałęzi gospodarki. Polski rynek wyrobów tytoniowych to przede wszystkim rynek papierosów stanowiących około 90% produkcji. W drugiej połowie lat 90-tych ubiegłego wieku przeprowadzono w Polsce prywatyzację praktycznie całości przemysłu tytoniowego, wskutek czego w chwili obecnej 95-98% udziału w rynku wyrobów tytoniowych posiada sześć zagranicznych koncernów tytoniowych. Systematyczny wzrost wysokości akcyzy na wyroby tytoniowe związany z koniecznością dostosowania się do minimalnych stawek obowiązujących w Unii Europejskiej spowodował w ostatnich latach znaczący wzrost cen papierosów, szczególnie w porównaniu ze wschodnimi sąsiadami Polski. Jest to główna przyczyna przemytu papierosów, którego szacowana wielkość stanowi od 13 do 16% udziału w rynku [Ratajczak 2006].Analiza zmian wysokości produkcji i spożycia papierosów w Polsce w ostatnich latach na tle danych z lat 1970-2004 wskazuje na wyraźną tendencję spadkową produkcji papierosów w okresie prywatyzacji i zmiany struktury udziałów polskiego przemysłu tytoniowego w latach 1995-2002. W kolejnych latach daje się zaobserwować niewielka, lecz systematyczna tendencja wzrostowa produkcji papierosów, natomiast tendencja spadkowa wysokości spożycia papierosów, chociaż słabsza niż w poprzednich latach, nie uległa zmianie. W całym rozpatrywanym okresie lat 1970-2004 zarówno wysokość produkcji jak i spożycia papierosów wykazuje częste zmiany trendu. Wyznaczone przez autorów prognozy produkcji i spożycia papierosów w Polsce w latach 2005-2008 zdają się potwierdzać tendencje wzrostową produkcji i spadkową spożycia papierosów zaobserwowane w ostatnich latach. Przyczyn takiego stanu rzeczy można upatrywać z jednej strony w przenoszeniu w ostatnich latach dużej części produkcji zagranicznych koncernów tytoniowych do Polski z uwagi na niższe jej koszty, a z drugiej strony w stałym wzroście cen papierosów
Abstract	One of the most important branches in Poland is the tobacco industry, which brings about 7-7.5% of Polish budget incomes. The cigarettes are the main part of its production (about 90%). In the second half of 90’s, almost the whole Polish tobacco industry was privatized. Nowadays, the six biggest foreign concerns control about 95-98% of production of cigarettes in Poland. In the last years, the excise on the tobacco products has been growing systematically in consequence of necessity to fit its rate to excise levels in the rest of the EU countries. This is the reason of fast increase in cigarettes prices, particularly in comparison to eastern neighbour states of Poland. One of the consequences of this process is smuggling cigarettes out of eastern borders. At present from 13 to 16% of cigarettes smoked in Poland are of illegal origin. Analysis of changes in production and consumption of cigarettes in Poland in the last years shows the distinctly descendent trend of production in the years 1995-2002, during the privatization of Polish tobacco industry. In the next years, production of cigarettes has been systematically growing. Consumption of cigarettes in Poland has been diminishing systematically from the first half of 90’s. In the whole analyzed period 1970-2004 production and consumption have not exerted a distinct trend, and the trends have been changing very often. Prepared prognosis of production and consumption of cigarettes in Poland for the years 2005-2008 confirms ascendent trend of production, and descendent trend of consumption observed in the last years. On the one hand the most important reason of this processes might be transfer of huge part of production of foreign tobacco concerns to Poland, and on the other hand constant appreciation of cigarette prices in Poland side in last years.

Abstrakt	Wprowadzenie nowej jednostki monetarnej euro na znacznym obszarze Unii Europejskiej może powodować, że kursy walut tych krajów europejskich, których waluty narodowe nie zostały zastąpione przez euro, mogą być uzależnione kursu EUR/USD. Analiza przeprowadzona w niniejszej pracy, przy pomocy modelu VAR, wykazała, iż taka sytuacja w znacznym stopniu dotyczy złotego.
Abstract	In the era of increasing global economic interdependence, the transmission of movements in international financial markets constitutes a significant issue for economic policy, especially in transient periods when the markets are heavily agitated. The literature on the transmission of movements between financial markets has focused the possible impact of Euro as a new world currency. The VAR model with current and lagged currency data was employed to investigate the exchange rate dependence between the Polish Zloty and two of the world major currencies, i.e. US Dollar and Euro. The analysis has shown that the EURO/UESD exchange rate determines to a large extend the Polish Zloty exchange rate to USD. This suggests that Polish Zloty is in informal monetary union with euro

Abstract	The article presents the results of public opinion poll about purchase habit. The data covering the period from 1998 to 2004, showing the changes of a liking for shopping. Consumer’s behavior is close to be European standard. The dissertation shows main economic factor of shopping decision. The shopping preferences are linked to household income, which influence also the food consumption level. Inadequate financial means cause the changes of consumer’s habits. Customers show most interest in those shops which compete with others via attractive prices. The main reasons of the choice of main shopping outlet are: low prices, high quality of products, proximity to home, pleasant staff, attractiveness of offered goods, habit, business hours, plus promotions and sales.

Abstract	In Central and Eastern Europe societies had problems in self-organising and creating civil virtues during transformation period. Polish citizens are still reluctant to join organisations, it is observed especially in rural areas. However it is people inhabiting rural areas who organize informally most often. This paper presents case studies of four villages in Podlasie region, in which citizens organized protests against closing their children’s primary schools. The analysis concerns group activeness before these protests, forms of the protests themselves, and activeness of the citizens after the decisions concerning the schools were taken by local authorities. It is concluded that willingness to associate and taking proper measures by citizens results among others from earlier experience in self-organising. Sometimes developing social activeness of local communities requires external help (such as mediation) or support of local authorities

Abstract	Food safety and quality are main issues in food economics. The first part of this paper deals with food quality in Poland before and after the process of integration with the EU. The conducted analysis have confirmed the improvement of Polish food quality. The sanitary conditions of Polish processing plants have also improved. But the concentration of nitrates is still very high in some vegetable products. The second part contains an analysis of the Polish exports and imports and their changes in the economic transition process. Wheat imports were higher than exports. In addition to this, the survey proved that Poland is self-sufficient in food production and food safety has improved in the transition period

Abstrakt
Abstract	The paper aims to evaluate whether or not the last EU enlargement to the new 10 member states (EUN-10) has influenced the intra EU trade of agricultural products. In particular, the analysis focuses on the effects on trade between two groups of countries EU-15 and EUN-8 (i.e. the Central-Eastern Europe new members countries) of the EU-accession process. The import-export flows show a noticeable increase in trade between the two areas over the last decade. This increase surely stems from the opening up process, but according to second best theory in international trade which applies to Customs Unions – it not necessarily favours efficiency as far as social welfare is concerned. The analysis shows also that the comparative advantages in certain products, which ten years ago fuelled trade, do not appear to have altered the position of the two groups of countries. Focusing on agricultural products the integration process, which was already underway during the pre-accession period, has maintained and not reduced their specific specialization.

The authors analyze situation in meat production in the Republic of Belarus and give their opinion thereupon. The present conditions are unfavourable and the volume of meat production is falling. It is necessary for the government to assist meat producers.

Abstract	The reform of the European Union sugar market will be very unfavourable for the Polish sugar industry and growers. Only the best and most productive factories with the lowest costs of production will remain in business. Also, only the most efficient growers will be interested in sugar beet production (high sugar yields, low production costs).

Abstrakt
Abstract	Poland is the largest producer of apples in Europe. Statistical analysis of data concerning harvests, yields, age and varieties of apple trees shows the Polish leader position. Visible changes in the new apple orchards are responding to the preferences of modern consumers. Russia and the European Union are main recipients of Polish apples. Though consumer apples are dominating in the structure of sales, also industrial apples and apple concentrate will be supplementing Polish exports abroad in the near future.

Abstrakt
Abstract	The aim of this paper was to analyse the changes in apple production and apple growing area in Poland and in the other big producing countries in the EU. Furthermore, future prospects for apple production in Poland were presented. Apple production and orchard area in Poland have increased for the last 10 years in contrast to the EU main producers. There are changes in the selection of apple varieties produced in Poland and an increase of production of the varieties popular in the EU. The growth of apple production in Poland is connected with establishing producer organizations.

Abstrakt	W Polsce, w porównaniu do innych krajów Unii Europejskiej, notuje się małą liczbę gospodarstw ekologicznych, a istnieją większe możliwości rozwoju produkcji ekologicznej. Polska posiada sprzyjające warunki naturalne do rozwoju rolnictwa ekologicznego. Integracja Polski z UE stwarza możliwości wykorzystania naturalnych uwarunkowań do rozwoju produkcji ekologicznej poprzez powszechnie wdrażane programy pomocy rolnikom prowadzącym produkcję ekologiczną.
Abstract	In comparison with other countries of the European Union, there is a very small number of organic farms in Poland, even though there are many possibillities for development of organic production. Poland has very good natural conditions for development of organic agriculture. The accession of Poland to the European Union is creating some new possibilities and conditions for development of organic production. This can be achieved by creating aid programmes for farmers. These programmes are targeted at those farmers who follow organic production methods.
