Abstrakt	The main goal of this article was to determine the probability of real investments in individual farms. Apart from that, the article is an attempt to make a typology of farms according to the real investments criterion. As results from the investigations, the following factors are decisive to the decision about investments in a farm: the farm area, the production level, the farmer’s age and the assessment of the financial situation of the farm. Investments are (and probably will be) made in large-area farms, with intensive production, managed by young and well educated farmers, who see their future in the farming activity. Apart from that, these farmers use subsidies from the European Union to make considerable investments. On the other hand, older and worse educated farmers, who manage smaller-area farms and have less intensive production, tend to be less likely to make investments in farms.

Abstrakt	The article presents the aspect of investment tax relief usage in agriculture holding in case of income tax introduction. The article deals also with the fiscal tax burden in farms. The presented research was surveyed in years 2006–2009. The tax burden of farms has been characterized by two groups of analysis: average for whole population and for farms with cropland area above 50 ha. The income tax was calculated in case of revenue and expense ledger, according to two tax models: with progressive tax scale and flat tax. The fiscal burden was lower in case of progressive tax scale, because of relatively low income of farms. Farmers are not investing high values each year but income tax would gave them possibility to decrease current tax burden thanks to tax investment relief. It could be beneficial for further development in agriculture.

Abstrakt	The main goal of this study was to present and assess the volume of capital expenditure in the Polish food industry from 2000 to 2011. The study was prepared on the basis of reference publications and unpublished statistics of the Central Statistical Office concerning investments and fixed assets according to the branches of the food industry. The analysis was based on measures of the dynamics of phenomena. In order to assess the investment activity a simple investment rate was used. As results from the research, capital expenditure increased in the Polish food industry from 2000 to 2011. Integration with the European Union considerably influenced the investment growth. In the period under analysis the highest mean investment rate was observed in the fishing, meat processing and dairy sectors. The investment activity was limited in 2009, which was a consequence of the world crisis.

Abstrakt	The paper presented the impact of direct payments on the structure of agricultural land area in the agricultural holdings. The research included individual agricultural holdings (located in Silesian Voivodeship), participating in the EU- -FADN. The research period covered the years 2005–2008. It was shown that the largest holdings both in terms of the area and economic size received the highest funds from direct payments. Farmers with the largest holdings in terms of the area enlarges the area of their farms by purchasing agricultural land and lease of farmland since the beginning of the introduction of the direct payment system. The direct payment system contributed to the increase of the area of land used by the farmers, mainly by cultivation of arable land.

Abstrakt	Waste management differs in terms of investments’ objectives, motives and circumstances from other industries because of its dependence on the state’s environmental policy. In years 2006–2011 total investment outlays in waste management exhibit higher growth than average in the Polish industry. It was resulted mainly from the level of public spending. Investments in this sector is important from a macroeconomic point of view. They increase social welfare due to the improvement of the natural environment. Moreover they cause growth of public spending on infrastructure which weakens the negative effects of the economic slowdown. In the short term return on investments in this industry depends on the general economic situation and price formation of certain secondary raw-materials.

Abstrakt	For purposes of the work the analysis of changes of the credit-activity of cooperative banks in Poland and in Europe in years 2007–2011 was conducted. Cooperative banks in Poland in years 2007–2011 systematically increased the range of granting of credits, similar to other countries of EU. It was noticed the decrease of share of credits granted for households and the growth of share of credits for enterprises. Banks more actively began to support the business sector, mainly the sector of SME, such as cooperative banks from other countries of Europe. These banks credited households mainly on investments, operations and commercial property (so called remaining credits). Cooperative banks by financing other subjects of the nonfinancial sector first of all helped municipal institutions. The accomplished analysis of the credit-activity of cooperative banks in Poland confirmed that a mission of these subjects was the support of local development by financing activities.

Abstrakt	The article aims at presenting factors that determine the effectiveness of managing production resources in ecological farms of different size. Within the examined groups of diverse sized ecological farms, the technical infrastructure of land resources and the saturation of land with materials as well as the input of human labour per agricultural land acreage were clearly showing a decrease proportional to the increase in farm size, which was connected with the organization of production in the farms under examination. The organization of production in those groups of farms, the effectiveness of their production and the prices of organic products in the analysed years were reflected in the structure of the value of production of particular farm groups. Fruit and vegetables had a clearly higher and preponderant share in the value of plant production in 20-hectare farms, which mainly determined higher productivity of land and capital resources as well as profitability of smaller farms’ land resources.

Abstrakt	This paper identifies and examines the regional differentiation of investment input in Polish agriculture within 2004–2011. By making cluster analysis there were selected two groups of regions with similar level of investment activity. The group with the greatest investment input includes the following regions: Pomorskie, Opolskie, Warmińsko-Mazurskie, Wielkopolskie, Zachodniopomorskie, and Lubuskie. Above mentioned investment regards input both per 1ha of rural area, per 1 farm as well as per 1 person employed in agriculture. In other 10 regions making second concentration, an investment activity was weaker what was connected with lesser average farm area, lesser market production as well as lower labor productivity.

Abstrakt	The debt of the polish municipalities in 2007–2011 grew steadily. The especially high increase in debt of the local government sector has occurred after 2008. Among the different types of local governments municipalities and cities with county rights generated local government debt by most. The especially high increase in debt has occurred in 2009–2011. With the increase in the debt of municipalities in the period 2007–2010, the share of investment expenditures in total expenditure was increasing too. However performed municipal investments were stopped in 2011. The reasons for reducing investment expenditures by local governments are associated with the deterioration of macroeconomic conditions and changes in the legal conditions of functioning of municipalities.

Abstrakt	W pracy przedstawiono na podstawie danych GUS zmiany w produkcji buraka cukrowego w województwie kujawsko-pomorskim w latach 2002–2011. W tym okresie powierzchnia uprawy buraka cukrowego zmniejszyła się o 30,3%, plony zwiększyły się o 7,5%, a zbiory zmalały o16,2%. Od 2002 roku do 2010 roku areał buraka cukrowego najbardziej został ograniczony w powiatach: świeckim (o 57,4%) i żnińskim (o 44,9%). W 2002 roku w 25 gminach o największej powierzchni uprawy buraka cukrowego roślina ta zajmowała 26,4 tys. ha (48,8% areału w województwie). Do 2010 roku powierzchnia uprawy w analizowanych gminach zmniejszyła się o 25,2% (do 19,7 tys. ha ) w stosunku do 2002 roku (51,3% areału buraka cukrowego w całym województwie). Głównym powodem ograniczenia produkcji buraka cukrowego była reforma rynku cukru w Unii Europejskiej w latach 2006–2009.
Abstract	The paper presents the CSO data changes in sugar beet production in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodeship in 2002-2011. During this period the growing area under sugar beet decreased by 30.3%, yields increased by 7.5%, and decreased harvest o16.2%. From 2002 to 2010 sugar beet area has been reduced in most district: swiecki (by 57.4%) and zninski (by 44.9%). In 2002, the 25 communes with the largest area under sugar beet was occupied 26.4 thousand ha (48.8% of the area in the voivodeship). By 2010, the area of sugar beet in the analyzed communes decreased by 25.2% (19,7 thousand ha) compared to 2002 (51.3% of the area of sugar beet in the entire voivodeship). The main reason for limiting the production of sugar beet was the reform of the sugar market in the European Union in 2006-2009.

Abstrakt	Celem artykułu jest ocena wpływu integracji na poziom dochodów rolniczych w nowych krajach członkowskich Unii Europejskiej. Badania przeprowadzono w oparciu o Rachunki Ekonomiczne dla Rolnictwa. Analizie poddano również wybrane czynniki kreacji dochodów rolniczych takich jak realna wartość produkcji rolnej i zużycia pośredniego oraz poziomu dotacji. Jak wykazała przeprowadzona analiza akcesja pozytywnie wpłynęła na sytuację dochodową w większości państw UE-12. Widoczne jest to zwłaszcza w rolnictwie polskim, wyróżniającym się największą dynamiką zmian w tym zakresie. Pogorszenie wyników ekonomicznych odnotowano natomiast w krajach, które najpóźniej przystąpiły do UE jak również w Czechach. W analizowanym okresie widoczny jest powolny proces zmniejszania dysproporcji między krajami UE-12 i UE-15 pod względem dochodów przypadających na 1 AWU jak i na 1 gospodarstwo co jest również efektem (oprócz wzrostu dochodów) przemian w strukturze agrarnej. Analiza determinantów wzrostu dochodów wykazała, że kluczową rolę w ich kształtowaniu odgrywa polityka bezpośredniego wsparcia producentów rolnych. Udział pozostałych analizowanych czynników determinujących dochody był znacznie mniejszy. Ponadto wykazano, że rolnictwo polskie wyróżniało się pod względem największej efektywności wykorzystania dopłat ogółem.
Abstract	The objective of the article was to assess the impact of integration on the level of agricultural income in the new member countries of the European Union. The analysis was held on the basis of Economic Accounts for Agriculture. The selected determinants of agricultural income such as the real value of agricultural output, intermediate consumption and the level of subsidy were analyzed in the paper. The analysis proved that the accession to the EU had a positive impact on agricultural incomes in the majority of EU-12 countries. Positive influence was especially visible in Polish agriculture, where the dynamics of changes of income indices were the highest. The deterioration of income indexes was seen in the Czech Republic and the countries, which the latest accessed the EU. Moreover, it can be noticed that the disparities in terms of agricultural incomes per AWU and farm have been slowly diminishing among EU-12 and EU-15 countries. It results from the income increase and the changes in agricultural structures of EU-12. The analysis showed that the direct payments were the main factor determining agricultural income increase. Moreover, Polish agriculture was leading in the effectiveness of direct payments use.
