Abstract	The aim of the paper was to show some basic information about partial equilibrium models and their use for the agricultural sector modeling. As an example the AGMEMOD model was chosen and described. The pig and the pig meat markets modeling were described with a market projection up to 2020 in scenarios assuming different Euro/PLN exchange rates.

Abstrakt	Polityka ekologiczna Unii Europejskiej, oparta w znacznej mierze o zasady zrównoważonego rozwoju, określa główne kierunki działań przedsiębiorstw produkcyjnych, w tym przedsiębiorstw sektora rolno-spożywczego. Przedsiębiorstwa mleczarskie w toku produkcji obciążają środowisko naturalne zanieczyszczając zarówno atmosferę, wody, jak i gleby. Jednostki poddane ankietyzacji wykazywały największy stopień zaangażowania w zakresie gospodarki wodnej i ściekowej, a najmniej odnotowano działań pro środowiskowych w ochronie atmosfery. Główną barierą wprowadzania procesów ekologizacji w przedsiębiorstwach mleczarskich były wysokie koszty takich działań, zwłaszcza w przypadku zmian w zakresie ochrony powietrza atmosferycznego. Pozytywnymi efektami wdrażania przedsięwzięć proekologicznych, oprócz poprawy parametrów środowiskowych, są również wzrost konkurencyjności oraz poprawa wizerunku firmy.
Abstract	The European Union environmental policy is based on the principles of sustainable development. It defines the primary trends in production companies activities inclusive of companies in the agri-food sector. The dairy companies have an impact on the natural environment with their atmospheric, water and earth surface pollutant emissions. The domestic companies have to make an effort towards the ecologisation of their production processes, i.e. to initiate widely comprehensive proenvironmental activities. This behaviour is connected with the necessity of adaptation to the EU directives requirements. These procedures, besides adjustment to regulations, may give also other profitable effects, for example an improvement of the company competitiveness.

Abstrakt	W opracowaniu przedstawiono zmiany liczby i odsetka badanych wiejskich gospodarstw domowych, których członkowie w przeszłości mieli doświadczenia w prowadzeniu własnej działalności gospodarczej, będą też nie byli aktywni w tym zakresie, w okresie przed sytuacją zastaną w trakcie przeprowadzenia badania. Wzięto pod uwagę zróżnicowanie regionalne oraz posiadanie gospodarstwa indywidualnego, jako czynniki różnicujące skalę aktywności przedsiębiorczej i jej zmiany oraz ewentualne plany rozpoczęcia takiej działalności. Rozważania na podstawie badań własnych rozszerzono o szerszy kontekst badań przeprowadzonych przez innych autorów.
Abstract	The aim of the paper was to present numbers and proportions of researched rural households which members had run own firm in the past or had not had experience in that field in before the moment of the research. Regional diversification and ownership of a farm were also taken into account as factors influencing the rural inhabitants’ entrepreneurial activity. The paper includes also plans of establishment of an own firm in the future by the researched households members. Conclusions made on the basis of own research were embedded within a wider context of other researchers’ results.

Abstract	The paper is dedicated a problems concern with development of information society at the Polish rural areas. Based on statistical data (prepared by GUS) one can state, that from 2004 to 2006 the situation on village areas was slowly improving (in 2006, 46% households used computer and 25% had access to Internet), but goals of using Internet is still dissatisfied (especially in cases of: contact with public institution, e-banking). As an example of good working programs dedicated to village society are selected e-VITA program and Rzeczpospolita Internetowa program. Especially interesting is the “e-VITA” program, which is cofinancing by The Polish - American Foundation “Freedom”, The Support Village Foundation and company CISCO Systems Poland. The results of the program are following: 11 noncommercial computers nets on rural areas, many various workshops and information meetings, 400 persons participated in e- courses. In the future (2007–2013 year) local governments will have possibilities to receive financial support in frame of Regional Operating Programs

As the analysis of the budget of the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture has exerted, all this caused changes in the size and structure of the mentioned expenses.

Abstract	The aim of his article is to present the situation of the dairy market in China and India in relation to the European Union and particularly Poland. The analysis has been based on the data provided by International Farm Comparison Network (IFCN). Milk production in China and India is developing very dynamically. In 1981–2004 milk production in India increased over three times whereas in China more than eight times. Dairy production is stimulated by the domestic demand. In China in 2000–2005 milk consumption increased from 9.7 to 22.6 kg per capita per year. It has been estimated that in the following 4 years milk demand in China will double. Increasing demand along with not sufficient production capacity in China may trigger the increase in milk import. The estimated deficiency of milk products in next 4 years may amount from 13 up to 23 million tons. This situation creates new opportunities for the exporters of dairy products (the UE, Poland)

Abstract	In presented paper changes in the sugar production and in the nursery of the sugar beet in the EU brought about were described with implementing the reform of the market of the sugar. An too small interest in limiting the sugar production in 2007 caused the yr the European Commission modified principles of the reform and a possibility of the resignation led farmers from the right into the cultivation of the sugar beet in exchange for high bonuses in the framework of the so-called farmer’s initiative. At the same time they enabled sugar factories to assume this initiative under the condition of limiting the sugar production, in case of Poland, by the 13.5%. All sugar concerns took advantage of this possibility. However it turned out, that considerable part of farmers, on account of the low profitability of the cultivation of the sugar beet, doesn’t want to plant this plant. In April 2008 yr, sugar concerns had a problem with contracting the essential amount of the raw material. Therefore they persuaded farmers which relinquished their right to the cultivation to produce the raw material in frames of the limit of the sugar factory. However such a situation can cause, that Poland will become the net importer of the sugar, or else the domestic production in 2008 will be shorter than the demand

Abstract	The paper presents analysis of directions of services development in rural areas in areas of West Pomeranian region in years 2000–2006. In this region there was research, by which author wanted to compare status of services from 2000 with status of services at the end of 2006. Analysis consists mostly of comparison of amount of employees in particular services (general in West Pomeranian and in rural areas). Next step was to present notes to service receivers, meaning owners of farms that were using or still use the services delivered in their place of living. Research was done on random probe in amount of 2500 farmers. There was also used data from Main Statistical Office of Szczecin (Wojewódzki Urząd Statystyczny w Szczecinie). Development of services in rural areas in eyes of farmers is definitely different from level of service development in towns and cities

Abstract	In the paper agricultural tax burden on individual holdings type “dairy cattle” and “granivores”, situated in the regions of FADN Wielkopolska and Śląsk as well as Mazowsze and Podlasie is presented. The greatest amount of agrarian tax is charged on households with area above 25 hectares of the farming type “granivores” from the region of Wielkopolska and Śląsk. The higher relationship between agrarian tax and general level of costs, the financial costs and the incomes from the family agricultural household confirm the greater charging of the smallest-surface agricultural farms with the agrarian tax, within the both farming types

Abstract	The paper attempts to analyze repayment amounts of bank loan and leasing instalments. In both cases various interest rates have been applied. Additionally for the bank loan various repayment versions have been used. The paper argues that bank loan and leasing are popular alternative forms of financing investments. The conducted analysis show that applying the same repayment rates leasing is less costly form of investments’ financing than bank loan. The computing show that decreasing interest rate of bank loan by a few percentage points causes that total amount of repayment is the same as in case of leasing. Thus the costs of gaining capital will become similar too. The obtained results could be used in a decision process of investments. However it should be also pointed out that there are many alternative forms of financing investments

Abstract	In the paper we present the results of the research regarding relationship among euro/dollar exchange rate and other variables from financial and good markets. The analyzed time series are observed daily. In the first stage we investigate selected variables from financial and good markets that influence the euro/dollar exchange rate applying the Granger causality test. Our investigation shows that futures contract influences the euro/dollar exchange rate the most. In the second stage we construct the econometric models (ARMA-DL and ARMADL with GARCH) and artificial neural networks (Multilayer Perceptron) that are used to modelling and forecasting of the euro/dollar exchange rate. In the last stage we compare different models using goodness-of-fi t measures, Theil inequality statistic and its decomposition

Abstract	The ongoing changes in modern societies and constant build-up of information have caused that compared to colourful and screaming commercial advertisements present everywhere you can see social advertisements and campaigns appearing more and more frequently. Social advertisement focuses on the most important problems in society and there are a lot of difficulties between good understanding and appropriate reactions on this kind of advertisements. Because of this fact, we can say that social advertisement is trying to override barriers of public debate on difficult, shy and taboo themes such as illnesses, addictions or social help. But social advertisement’s biggest challenge is to provoke attitudes and behaviours socially desired. Social advertisement efficiency surveys shows that there aren’t many social advertisements that cause a change or provoke attitudes and behaviours socially desired
