Abstrakt	Zaprezentowano rozważania dotyczące grupy największych gospodarstw rolnych o powierzchni 100 i więcej ha użytków rolnych. Autorzy udowadniają, że należy uznać te gospodarstwa za wysokotowarowe przedsiębiorstwa rolne, ściśle powiązane z przetwórstwem rolno-spożywczym, podlegające identycznym regułom zarządzania jak przedsiębiorstwa z innych sektorów gospodarki. Zwrócono również uwagę na nowe elementy w zarządzaniu, dotyczące przedsiębiorstw rolnych. Przeanalizowano ponadto spodziewane kierunki badań w naukach o zarządzaniu oraz możliwe scenariusze i kierunki rozwoju gospodarstw wielkoobszarowych w przyszłości.
Abstract	The paper presents the considerations concerning group of biggest farms about surface 100 and more ha of utilized agricultural area. The authors argue that these farms should be treated as high productive market enterprises, which are strictly coherent with processing industry and under the same rules as enterprises from other sectors of economy. The paper pays the attention on new elements in management of rural enterprises. Besides, the study is presenting new directions of research in management sciences, possible scenarios and directions of big farms development in the future.

Abstrakt
Abstract	The problem of effective using of gated out budgetary funds in agrarian sector is discussed. An offer of development of a procedure which should consider potential productivity of each region and agricultural organization and promote a decrease of differences between enterprises and territories on a level of economic development is presented. Besides it is necessary to consider the future membership of Belarus in the World Trade Organization (WTO). Entering condition in this organization for the agrarian sector is a removal of budget assignments on financing exports and a limitation of level of the state support for agriculture.

Abstract	The EU membership requires introduction of significant changes in the agricultural sector. Such changes will not be possible without investments in human capital. The aim of the paper is to make an attempt at presenting the coincidence of three factors conducive to the development of lifelong learning process in rural areas: 1) EU and Polish legislation concerning the cross-compliance rule enforcement, 2) EU financial support for human capital development in the EU second programming period, 3) new banking product connected with financing adult education (Individual Learning Accounts, ILA).

Abstrakt
Abstract	This paper addresses the question of distribution of support from the EU budget and the national budget to agricultural holders in Mazovia region in comparison with Poland as a whole. In the first main section, the characteristics of the agricultural sector in the region, using main sectoral indicators, is presented. The second section illustrates the agricultural and rural support under the Rural Development Program and the Sectoral Operational Program “Restructuring and modernization of agriculture and rural development” provided to Mazovian beneficiaries with reference to this support at whole country level. Empirical analyses are based on Eurostat statistics as well as on data obtained from the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Results of the study show that the Mazovian province, which is a region that can be placed in front of agricultural development, was awarded over the period 2004-2007 a relatively high level of support and ranked first or second among all 16 provinces according to selected measures

Abstrakt	Rozwój przedsiębiorstw w sektorze żywnościowym w Polsce związany jest z tworzeniem przewagi konkurencyjnej w oparciu o markę. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest zaprezentowanie wybranych aspektów związanych z rozwojem marki, z wykorzystaniem wyników badan przeprowadzanych wśród 155 przedsiębiorstw sektora żywnościowego. Rozwój marek w sektorze żywnościowym następuje przez różnicowanie architektury marek, strategii pozycjonowania i identyfikatorów wizualnych, jak również przez działania zwiększające kapitał marki oraz przez modyfikacje produktów istniejących i wprowadzanie rozwiązań lateralnych.
Abstract	Development of companies in the food sector in Poland is related to creation of a brandbased competitive advantage. The aim of this study is a presentation of selected aspects of brand development basing on results of an investigation in 155 food companies. Brand development in the food sector is related to a differentiation of brand architecture, positioning strategies and visual identifiers as well as to activities increasing brand equity. A special attention was given to such directions of brand development as modification of current products and development of lateral innovations.

Abstrakt	Celem podjętych badań była analiza wpływu zmiany przeznaczenia gruntu w miejscowym planie zagospodarowania przestrzennego na jego wartość. Badania przeprowadzono na terenie gminy Piaseczno. Zakres czasowy badań obejmował lata 2003–2007. Wyniki badań wskazały na wzrost wartości nieruchomości gruntowych z tytułu zmian planistycznych w badanym okresie średnio o 36%.
Abstract	The article includes an attempt at analysis of the influence of the local spatial management plan on the real estate value in the Piaseczno commune in years between 2003 and 2007. The research results have indicated an appreciation by about 36% of land value by title of change in the local land development plans in the investigated period.

Abstrakt	Wsparcie finansowe rozwoju rolnictwa i obszarów wiejskich w ramach programów pomocowych Unii Europejskiej ma ogromne znaczenie ze względu na potrzeby inwestycyjne w tym sektorze. Analiza zgromadzonego materiału badawczego wykazała, że do najważniejszych korzyści dla sektora rolno-żywnościowego z racji akcesji Polski do Unii Europejskiej należy zaliczył wejście do grupy państw o najwyższym na świecie poziomie wsparcia rolnictwa, objęcie systemem dopłat bezpośrednich oraz wsparcie procesu przekształceń gospodarstw rolnych. Szczególnie cenna okazała się pomoc finansowa w realizacji inwestycji w gospodarstwach rolnych, przyczyniając się do poprawy dochodu rolniczego, warunków produkcji, poprawy jakości produkcji, ochrony środowiska naturalnego oraz stworzenia właściwych warunków utrzymania zwierząt. Począwszy od 2004 roku polscy rolnicy mieli możliwość skorzystania z unijnej pomocy finansowej w ramach trzech form wsparcia. Były to płatności bezpośrednie w ramach Wspólnej Polityki Rolnej, środki finansowe w ramach Planu Rozwoju Obszarów Wiejskich, absorpcja środków SPO „Restrukturyzacja i modernizacja sektora żywnościowego i rozwój obszarów wiejskich”.
Abstract	Financial support of development of agriculture and rural areas within the framework of aid instruments of the European Union has enormous importance because of needs for investments in this sector. To the most important benefits of agricultural-food sector from the Polish accession to the European Union the following can be counted: entering into the group of states with the highest in the world level of support for agriculture, entering a system of direct payments and a system of support for the process of transformation of agricultural holdings. Particularly valuable has turned out the financial support for the investments in agricultural holdings contributing to improvements in agricultural income, conditions of production, quality of production, environmental protection and to creation of proper conditions of maintenance of animals. Beginning from 2004 Polish farmers had a chance to use the European Union financial support within the framework of three forms of support: direct payments within the common agricultural policy, financial support within the plan of development of rural areas, absorption of means from SPO Restructuring and modernization of the food sector and development of rural areas.

The aim of this article is to display and evaluate the spatial differentiation of production of raw material for food products coming from organic farms as well as of processing of these products in Poland. A comparative analysis was conducted using the GUS statistical data, the IJHARS data as well as those from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, related to organic farming as well as to food processing plants producing the organic food in Poland

Abstract	European Union can support the afforestation of private and municipal land. The money comes from the Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. The payment calculation is based on the country average real costs of tree plating, protection and land cultivation. The result of payment calculations for four various forest plantations are presented in the paper.

Abstract	The aim of the work was to investigate how the Polish integration with the EU structures effected on the development of foreign trade, in particular in agricultural products. According to the analysis, Poland’s participation in trade agreements triggered agricultural trade creation and diversion effects. Moreover, the development of trade was caused also by the growing competitiveness of Polish agricultural products in the world market.

Abstrakt	W opracowaniu przedstawiono trzy kwestie: predyspozycje regionu do produkcji mleka, charakterystykę skupu i przetwórstwa oraz przemiany organizacyjno-produkcyjne w gospodarstwach rolnych w związku z przystąpieniem Polski do UE i wprowadzeniem systemu kwot mlecznych. Pomimo predyspozycji regionu dolnośląskiego do produkcji mleka oraz dużej chłonności aglomeracji wrocławskiej, przetwórstwo mleka upadło. Przyczyny tkwią w dużym rozdrobnieniu gospodarstw, dla których produkcja mleka stała się nieopłacalna, za. duzi producenci woleli podjąć współpracę z przetwórcami prywatnymi i dużymi spółdzielniami spoza regionu. Pod względem produkcji i przetwórstwa mleka Dolny Śląsk został zepchnięty na dalekie pozycje w kraju. W dużej mierze do takich przemian w regionie przyczynił się również system kwotowania mleka.
Abstract	The paper describes the purchase and processing of milk in the province of Lower Silesia it aims to analyze the organization and production transformations that took place at dairy farms following the introduction of the milk quota system. Despite Lower Silesia potential for milk production and localization nearly the city of Wrocław, milk processing in the region collapsed. It was brought about, among others, by small sizes of the milk producing farms. The system of milk quota forced a lot of farmers to specialize in a given area of production, as only big amounts of sold milk ensure the profitability of its production. Thus small suppliers had to give up milk production. The number of suppliers fell and those who have left had to transport their milk to big cooperatives and private processing companies from outside the region. That is why Lower Silesia region occupies the last positions in the country with regard to the size of production and processing of milk.

Abstrakt	Artykuł przedstawia analizę sytuacji ekonomicznej gospodarstw zajmujących się produkcją mleka po wdrożeniu czterech scenariuszy kształtowania się cen uzyskiwanych przez producentów rolnych oraz scenariusza zmian kosztów produkcji w latach 2007-2009. Otrzymane wyniki wskazują, że w momencie obowiązywania cen światowych dochodowość gospodarstw gwałtownie się pogorszy, przy jednoczesnym ponoszeniu strat z działalności rolniczej. Wszystkie scenariusze wdrożone w gospodarstwach, w których wysoki poziom udziału w przychodach stanowią przychody z produkcji mleka, spowodowały spadek dochodu rolniczego netto w latach 2007-2009.
Abstract	Polish dairy farms after EU accession faced many changes in technical farm organization as well as in economic situation. Introduction of four producer prices scenario and one producer cost scenario shows development of returns and incomes in analyzed farms in the period 2007-2009. Scenario which basis on world prices shows that very high decrease of farm income and agricultural activity will be unprofitable. All dairy farms with high share of dairy production in farms returns after implementing all prices scenario have a decline of farm profit in 2007-2009.

Abstrakt	W opracowaniu przedstawiono główne czynniki zewnętrzne wpływające na przyjmowanie strategii postępowania rolników zajmujących się produkcją mleka. Dokonano analizy produkcji i spożycia mleka na świecie, zmian w polityce rolnej UE, oczekiwań przetwórców wobec rolników, zmian w liczbie i sile ekonomicznej gospodarstw mlecznych w Europie. Produkcja mleka ciągle jest mniejsza w stosunku do potencjalnych możliwości spożycia przetworów mlecznych, co stwarza szansę rozwoju efektywnych ekonomicznie gospodarstw mlecznych w Polsce.
Abstract	The main purpose of the study was to determine the main external factors influencing strategies of dairy farmers. Production, consumption, changes of EU regulations, dairy purchasers requirements concerning farms, changes in the number of farms and their economic power were analyzed in the paper. Presented results suggest that milk production is lower in relation to the consumption potential. Therefore, economically efficient dairy farms in Poland have still large development opportunities.

Abstrakt
Abstract	Article is devoted to studying of unemployment as a negative social and economic phenomenon in the life of a society. As the growth of the given parameter conducts to the shortage of produce. The structure of the unemployed according to the sex both in Grodno region, and across Belarus specifies prevalence of ‘female’ unemployment. A problem there is employment of youth. The disturbing tendency is traced at studying the structure of the age of the unemployed: the greatest share of the unemployed falls at the most productive age of 20-29 and 30-49 years. In the small regional centers the rate of unemployment is higher than in the large cities. This is connected with an absence of workplaces, backwardness of the real sector of economy, a weak level of development of social services. Therefore the state policy of employment aspires to provide equal opportunities to all physically fit citizens of Belarus, gives social guarantees and indemnifications to the unemployed, etc.

Abstrakt
Abstract	The paper examines the impact of development of agricultural sector on performance of the cooperative banks in Poland in years 1997-2004. The levels of the agricultural development and the economic/financial situation of the banks were assessed by using country-level and regional-level aggregate indicators based on the factor analysis. The research results show that the type of region (i.e. voivodeship and macro-region) has a statistically significant impact both on the aggregate indicator of agricultural development and the aggregate indicator of banks’ performance. As for the relationship between the agricultural development level and the economic/financial situation of banks, statistically significant correlations were found only for four out of sixteen voivodeships.

Abstrakt
Abstract	A comparison of environmental sustainability in Belarus, Poland and Ukraine using the Environmental Sustainability Index calculated by the Centre for Environmental Law and Policy of Yale University shows a significant advantage of Belarus over Poland and Ukraine while a slight advantage of Poland over Ukraine. Belarus with ESI score of 52.8 points ranked 47, Ukraine with 44.7 points ranked 108 while Poland with 45.0 points ranked 102 among the 146 classified countries of the world. The state of natural environment in Belarus and Ukraine seems to be much better, while Poland has a distictive advantage with respect to the institutional issues in environmental management. All three countries have roughly similar impact on global environment, of a predominantly negative nature, with Belarus qualifying somewhat better in this respect.
