Abstract	Production and economic results according to economic sixe ESU in Pomorze and Mazury region were presented in the paper. The number of farms has incresed in all farms groups in the analyzed period. The value of production has decresed in following farms: very small, average-small, average-large and large in 2004–2006 years. But, the production has incresed in very large farms in 2004–2006 years. The economic results has increased in almost all types of farms. The decrese of economic results was observed in large farms. During to survey it was observed the increse of production calculated per farm anf 1 ha farmland. It was the result of production efficiency improvement and increse of animals. The income calculated per 1 employed person has incresed as the results of work hire in the farms

Abstract	The paper is dedicated a problems concern with development of information society at the Polish rural areas. Based on statistical data (prepared by GUS) one can state, that from 2004 to 2006 the situation on village areas was slowly improving (in 2006, 46% households used computer and 25% had access to Internet), but goals of using Internet is still dissatisfied (especially in cases of: contact with public institution, e-banking). As an example of good working programs dedicated to village society are selected e-VITA program and Rzeczpospolita Internetowa program. Especially interesting is the “e-VITA” program, which is cofinancing by The Polish - American Foundation “Freedom”, The Support Village Foundation and company CISCO Systems Poland. The results of the program are following: 11 noncommercial computers nets on rural areas, many various workshops and information meetings, 400 persons participated in e- courses. In the future (2007–2013 year) local governments will have possibilities to receive financial support in frame of Regional Operating Programs

Abstract	The paper presents analysis of directions of services development in rural areas in areas of West Pomeranian region in years 2000–2006. In this region there was research, by which author wanted to compare status of services from 2000 with status of services at the end of 2006. Analysis consists mostly of comparison of amount of employees in particular services (general in West Pomeranian and in rural areas). Next step was to present notes to service receivers, meaning owners of farms that were using or still use the services delivered in their place of living. Research was done on random probe in amount of 2500 farmers. There was also used data from Main Statistical Office of Szczecin (Wojewódzki Urząd Statystyczny w Szczecinie). Development of services in rural areas in eyes of farmers is definitely different from level of service development in towns and cities

The greatest amount of agrarian tax is charged on households with area above 25 hectares of the farming type “granivores” from the region of Wielkopolska and Śląsk. The higher relationship between agrarian tax and general level of costs, the financial costs and the incomes from the family agricultural household confirm the greater charging of the smallest-surface agricultural farms with the agrarian tax, within the both farming types

Abstract	Huge surplus of labour force and the lack of satisfactory incomes cause rural population to searching for earnings in foreign countries. The dynamics of international economic migrations of rural population is significant and became the form of income diversity. The scale, structure and impacts of that complex and regionally diverse phenomenon are very hard to catch, which is probably the reason of weak interest of economists. On the basis of sociological research conducted in three villages from the regions of the highest intensity of international migration the author states that international migrations from the village situated in Opolskie are more often the choice and fixed strategy of rural families, migrations from the village situated in Podlasie are more often necessity caused by weakness of local labour market and worse human capital of villagers and worse material situation of families. People from villages of Podkarpackie, who work abroad, with regard to non-agricultural qualifications and increase of chances of getting better paid jobs can choose return and reverse tendency of migrations from that region

Abstract	The article attempts to present situation and consumer’s opinion about traditional and regional food market in Poland. It describes past and future potential threats resulting from the initial phase of creation of niche food alimentation market in Poland. The article presents fragmentary results of research conducted within a grant-research project implemented with the financial support of Foundation Cooperation Fund, Agro-Smak 2 Programme concerning the opinions of consumers and their attitudes, i.e. inclinations to purchase traditional/regional products in Poland. The research was conducted with the technical help of PENTOR Research International S.A. This review was prepared based on the primary empirical material collected during two rounds of research – round 1 conducted between September 20–25, 2007 (research stage 1) and between October 4–9, 2007 (research stage 2). The research was based on a representative sample of 1028 and 1032 Polish nationals of at least 15 years of age. The researchers re159 lied on Omnibus type of research using direct interview technique (face-to-face interviews at respondents’ homes) aided by state-of-the art recording and data processing technique – computer record. The aim of the research was to determine the respondents’ level of declarative knowledge of Polish traditional/regional food products and to define a potential group of purchasers of these products, as well as to find out whether the products, which apply for official EU registration, are purchased by consumers, at least from time to time. Questions were grouped in thematic groups. The goal was to collect feedback from respondents concerning their awareness and frequency of purchase of traditional/regional food products as chosen from among the range of different products of the same category available in the market. The questionnaire was also expected to reveal the respondents’ determination to purchase the products in question in the future as well as to unveil possible assumptions behind not purchasing the products concerned and behind the consumers’ attempts to seek for information on the products under analysis.

An offer of development of a procedure which should consider potential productivity of each region and agricultural organization and promote a decrease of differences between enterprises and territories on a level of economic development is presented. Besides it is necessary to consider the future membership of Belarus in the World Trade Organization (WTO). Entering condition in this organization for the agrarian sector is a removal of budget assignments on financing exports and a limitation of level of the state support for agriculture.

Abstrakt
Abstract	This paper addresses the question of distribution of support from the EU budget and the national budget to agricultural holders in Mazovia region in comparison with Poland as a whole. In the first main section, the characteristics of the agricultural sector in the region, using main sectoral indicators, is presented. The second section illustrates the agricultural and rural support under the Rural Development Program and the Sectoral Operational Program “Restructuring and modernization of agriculture and rural development” provided to Mazovian beneficiaries with reference to this support at whole country level. Empirical analyses are based on Eurostat statistics as well as on data obtained from the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Results of the study show that the Mazovian province, which is a region that can be placed in front of agricultural development, was awarded over the period 2004-2007 a relatively high level of support and ranked first or second among all 16 provinces according to selected measures

Abstrakt	Podstawowym celem artykułu była analiza znaczenia rolnictwa w gospodarce narodowej w Polsce w ujęciu makroekonomicznym i regionalnym, w zakresie potencjału wytwórczego (zasobów pracy, wartości brutto środków trwałych i nakładów inwestycyjnych) oraz wyników produkcyjnych i dochodowych. Przeprowadzona analiza wykazała, że rolnictwo w Polsce pozostaje nadal znaczącym sektorem gospodarki narodowej, a po integracji z UE sytuacja w ujęciu sektorowym stabilizuje się. W dalszym ciągu znaczenie gospodarcze rolnictwa jest dość mocno zróżnicowane regionalnie
Abstract	The main objective of the article was to analyze the importance of agriculture in the national economy in Poland at the macroeconomic and regional level, concerning its production potential (labour, capital and investments) as well as its production output and income. The results of the analysis show that agriculture still remains in Poland an important sector of the national economy. After the accession to the EU the situation in the sector is being stabilized, however the importance of the agriculture in Poland is still strongly regionally differentiated.

Abstract	European Union can support the afforestation of private and municipal land. The money comes from the Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. The payment calculation is based on the country average real costs of tree plating, protection and land cultivation. The result of payment calculations for four various forest plantations are presented in the paper.

Abstrakt	W artykule przedstawiono charakterystykę oraz zmiany wybranych elementów sytuacji społeczno-gospodarczej Polski w latach 2000-2007. Wskazano również na występowanie dużego zróżnicowania regionalnego tejże sytuacji, na poziomie województw, sygnalizując jednocześnie powody owego zróżnicowania. Wskazano też regionalną różnorodność zachodzących zmian w tym względzie oraz potrzebę wsparcia regionów najsłabszych.
Abstract	The article presents a characterization of changes in the social and economic situation in Poland in years 2000-2007 from selected aspects. Regional differentiation of Poland as well as factors affecting the regional diversification of Poland are pointed at. Regional nature of changes and necessity of supporting the poorest regions are indicated.

Abstrakt	Celem prezentowanych badań była analiza funkcjonowania rynku świeżych owoców w Polsce na przykładzie rejonu grójeckiego, będącego głównym w Polsce obszarem produkcji owoców, zwłaszcza jabłek. Badania wykazały, że najbardziej popularnym kanałem zbytu owoców jest sprzedaż przez pośrednika, zarówno do przetwórni, jak i na eksport. Dominacja tych kanałów sprzedały wynika z niskiego stopnia integracji poziomej wśród producentów owoców. Konieczne jest stymulowanie rozwoju form współpracy między sadownikami jako czynnika wzrostu ich siły przetargowej na rynku oraz warunku dostępu do mechanizmów wspólnej polityki rolnej na rynku owoców, która oferuje m.in. środki finansowe na potrzeby nowo powstających grup producentów.
Abstract	The purpose of the research was to analyse functioning of the fresh fruit market in Poland on the example of Grojec region, which is the main area of fruit production in the country, especially in the case of apple. The collected data showed that the sale of fresh fruit through intermediaries is most popular, both to processing industry and for export. Domination of these distribution channels is the result of low degree of horizontal integration among fruit producers. In this situation a stimulation of cooperation linkages development between fruit growers is desired, in order to improve both their bargaining position in the market and to enable an access to the Common Agricultural Policy mechanisms referring to fruit production and trade, e.g. the financial support for producer organisations.

Abstrakt	W pracy badano wskaźniki finansowe indywidualnych gospodarstw rolnych integrowanych w systemie FADN. Gospodarstwa pochodziły z regionu FADN Mazowsze i Podlasie. Szczególną uwagę zwrócona na płynność finansową i zadłużenie. Wskaźniki płynności finansowej osiągnięć najwyższe wartości w gospodarstwach małych, średnio-małych i średnio-dużych. Wskaźniki płynności były wyższe od tych proponowanych w literaturze. Natomiast wskaźniki zadłużenia były najwyższe w gospodarstwach bardzo małych i bardzo dużych. Gospodarstwa rolne nie wykorzystują w pełni posiadanych zasobów finansowych
Abstract	Financial ratios in farms integrated in FADN system were analyzed in the paper. The farms were situated in the Mazowsze and Podlasie regions. A particular attention was paid to liquidity and debt ratios. The liquidity ratios achieved the highest value in small, average-small and average-big farms. The liquidity ratios were higher than proposed in literaure. But, the debt ratios were the highest in very small and very large farms. Farms do not use in full their financial resources.

Abstrakt	W opracowaniu podjęto próbę ukazania istotnych czynników, jak również perspektyw rozwoju powiązań integracyjnych zachodzących pomiędzy rolnictwem a przemysłem spożywczym w województwie podkarpackim. W opracowaniu zaprezentowano wpływ informacji, kwalifikacji i doradztwa na ograniczanie barier rozwoju tych procesów. Przedmiotem badań były źródła informacji, posiadane kwalifikacje oraz potrzeby informacyjne i doradcze w zakresie rozwoju więzi integracyjnych, jak również opinie producentów rolnych i przedstawicieli podmiotów przetwórczych odnośnie praktycznego wykorzystania uzyskanych porad. Determinanty te stanowić mogą istotną przesłankę sprzyjającą ograniczaniu barier, jak również stwarzaniu możliwości rozwoju związków integracyjnych w gospodarce żywnościowej
Abstract	Integrating processes between agriculture and food processing industry have been assessed basing on a study of information, qualifications, extension services in disposition of farmers in the Podkarpacie region in a mountainous southern part of Poland. Surveys of farmers and industrialists have been done with this respect.

Abstrakt	Celem pracy było określenie zakresu i poziomu korzystania przez gospodarstwa sadownicze na Lubelszczyźnie ze wsparcia finansowego z funduszy unijnych przed i po akcesji Polski do Unii Europejskiej. Badania przeprowadzono w 65 gospodarstwach położonych w województwie lubelskim. Zastosowano metodę wywiadu bezpośredniego na podstawie kwestionariusza ankiety. Stwierdzono, że wykorzystanie środków z programów pomocowych było bardzo niskie. Najczęściej producenci korzystali z płatności bezpośrednich, a pozostałe programy były wykorzystywane w niewielkim stopniu. środki pieniężne przeznaczano m.in. na powiększanie areału upraw, poprawę zaplecza przechowalniczego i infrastruktury oraz zakup maszyn i sprzętu rolniczego. Głównymi powodami niskiego korzystania z pomocy unijnej były brak informacji, zbyt dużo formalności, brak własnych środków finansowych na pokrycie kosztów inwestycji oraz obawa przed zaciąganiem kredytów. Wykorzystanie wsparcia będzie się zwiększało pod warunkiem zwrócenia większej uwagi na edukację potencjalnych beneficjentów oraz uproszczenia procedur związanych z pozyskiwaniem środków pomocowych
Abstract	The aim of the research was to determine the scope and the level of financial support from the EU funds to the orchard farms in the Lubelszczyzna region before and after Polish accession to the European Union. 65 orchard farmers in the Lubelskie province were interviewed by using standard questionnaires. It was stated that the level of use of means from the European programmes was very low. Producers most often took advantage of direct payments and other programmes were used to a small degree. Financial means were used for increasing the cropped area, improvement of fruit storage facilities and farm infrastructure as well as for purchase of machinery and other agricultural equipment. Lack of information, too much of formality, lack of own financial means for covering the own costs of investments and also a fear of taking bank credits were the main reasons of low popularity of the European Union support. The avail of financial support will be increased on condition that more attention is paid to the potential beneficiaries education and to simplification of procedures relevant to application for support.
