Abstrakt	Rola banków spółdzielczych w rozwoju obszarów wiejskich jest analizowana na przykładzie Banku Spółdzielczego w Łącku. Działalność depozytowa bardzo wzrosła od czasu przystąpienia Polski do UE, ponieważ warunkiem otrzymania dopłat bezpośrednich jest posiadanie konta bankowego.
Abstract	The aim of the paper was to present an analysis of influence of activity of co-operative banks on the development of agriculture and rural areas. The analysis concerned the activity of Co-operative Bank in Łącko in years 2003-2005. Co-operative Bank in Łącko is the oldest bank in Małopolska. The majority of its operations are located in the rural areas. The main clients of the Bank are inhabitants of Łącko region, farmers and small and medium size enterprises. Bank offered a wide selection of services. The most popular products were consumer credits and current accounts. In years 2003-2005 Bank opened 2021 accounts for farmers. Most of accounts were opened in 2004 because it was one of the conditions to receive financing from the EU funds. Bank offered also preferential credits.

Abstrakt
Abstract	The purpose of this study is to provide evidence on the relationships between prices of some agricultural products in Poland, Germany and France. The study is based on monthly price series of wheat, barley and milk. Findings show an existence of causal relationships between investigated markets, especially wheat markets. Results for the period 1995-2000 generally tend to show a lower degree of price transmission compared to the period 2001-2005, as might be expected.

Abstrakt
Abstract	The macroeconomic efficiency of a public library in a small town near Warsaw has been calculated in the form of benefit/cost ratio. The benefits have been estimated by the method of contingent valuation of the library services and by the revealed preferences expressed by the costs of travel to and from the library as well as the costs of library deposit fees. The macroeconomic costs have been assumed equal to the microeconomic costs, except for labour costs which have been estimated as social opportunity costs of labour and therefore corrected downwards because of the persistent unemployment in town. The BCR ratio turned to be far below zero (depending on assumptions varied between 0.37 and 0.76). However only the direct benefits accruing to the library customers have been included.

Abstract	The objective of this paper is to show that economic and political freedom is recognized as one of key determinants of the country’s economic growth. In its theoretical part, the definition, origins, and main ideas of neoliberalism were presented. Next section deals with the concept of economic freedom and its link with economic growth and development. Economic freedom indexes from both the Fraser Institute and the Heritage Foundation databases, as well as political freedom index from the Polity IV database were applied to assess the relationship between rate of economic growth and GDP per capita in Poland over the period 1990–2005. The results indicate that greater economic and political freedom contributes to higher GDP per capita values. However, opposite to political freedom, economic freedom did not serve as stimulus to higher rate of economic growth.

Abstract	In the 1995-2002 period, the Bank Guarantee Fund ensured safety of deposits held by customers at banks, up to the zloty equivalent of euro 22,250 in the case of banks' bankruptcy. Moreover, the Bank Guarantee Fund was providing financial assistance to banks for their restructuring and consolidation. Due to this help, the number of bank branches and customer service offices remained at a stable level, the reduction in employment was haltered, quality of bank services was increased and banks operational performance was improved.
