Streszczenie
Production of fruits and vegetables in Poland is characterized by a high degree of fragmentation. Manufacturers have poor technical background and little use of modern technologies. In conjunction with the lack of use of marketing opportunities, Polish fruit and vegetable producers cannot compete on the global market. Taking joint cooperation through producer groups and organizations can be the solution to the problem. EU accession in 2004 was a accelerator for development of producer groups and organizations in Poland. Financial support from the Community, national funds and the evolution of EU and national legislation had a positive impact on cooperating manufacturers on Polish market during the analysed period. Data show the development of fruit and vegetable producer groups and organizations in Poland in the years 2004–2010, focusing on their legal form, size, cultivation area, volume and value of production.
