Abstract | Major foodservice trends have been changing over time in Poland, especially within the last years. The purpose of the paper was an analysis of situation in the foodservice market of Poland at the beginning of XXI century. Nowadays many different factors affect eating out. The most important are: economic growth, demographic and cultural trends, structure of households and their incomes, changes of eating habits, and finally development of foodservice market. The appearance of different new trends and functions in foodservice sector is observed. It is hypothesized further development of foodservice market in Poland as an important segment of Polish economy. |

Abstract | In the last few years, a dynamic development of the service sector has been observed in Poland. An increase in the importance of services is a result of a civilisation development, and it is getting more and more meaningful due to an increasing number of employees and the value of provided services. The main aim of this study was to analyze the preferences of consumers from big cities (on the example of Warsaw) on choosing the place and the frequency of dining in restaurants. I have tried to find the relations between the chosen demographic indicators (age, sex, place of stay) and dining habits. It was noticed that dining in restaurants, for almost all taking part in the survey, is rather occasional than common. However, for some of the respondents, it is an everyday (or almost everyday) way of dining. It was also noticed that dining out is common for young people at the ages between 25 and 29. |

Abstract | This study focuses on characteristics of behaviour of polish consumers in shopping malls in Warsaw. Malls have become more than just a particular type of retail outlet, but they are also places providing recreation and community facilities for satisfying many needs and preferences. According to own observations and statistical data, the authors state, that more and more people visit shopping malls with many goals and objectives, not just shopping. The survey also identifyes goals of visiting of modern shopping malls, factors which influence on visiting shopping malls and visiting eating and drinking places in shopping malls. |
