Streszczenie

A delayed succession is a relatively new phenomenon involving formal (usually, in the form of a notarial deed) transfer of a farm to a successor who, upon the transfer, does not want or is unable to take over all functions of the existing owner. The disturbance of the generational life cycle of farms leads to the disclosure of their declining stage which very often results in losing a major portion of the farm’s production potential. The research conducted confirmed that the processes of destruction on the surveyed farms were significantly advanced. The signs of the deterioration of farms were particularly visible on the farms used by persons of advanced age and on the farms owned by farmers engaged in outside-farm gainful activities.
