Abstract	In the paper the synthetic analysis of changes in the economic activity structure was presented with classification into agricultural rural population and landless rural population. The measures of structure changes intensity and measures of average structure changes in the depiction of fixed base index and chain index were used. The use of synthetic measures of the structure dynamism is an essential supplementation of the traditional methodology in the scope of structure analysis. Not large changes in the structure of economic activity of agricultural and landless people were stated, what reflects stability in this scope, while insignificantly larger changes were observed in the group of landless population. The tendency resulting from higher mobility of that group of people because of land and lower attachment to the place of living was stated. Agricultural people were characterised by higher attachment to the place of living, so possible changes needs more time.

By the comparison of three groups of dairy cooperatives: leaders, average cooperatives and the weakest cooperatives source of the superiority of leaders have been identified. The research results show that dairy cooperatives success was connected with production scale, specialization and market power. This study allows to draw final conclusions, which may be useful for improving market position of other cooperatives – according to the benchmarking

Abstract	This paper deals with the interaction between fiscal policy and the business cycle. It mainly focuses on the interaction between this policy and output fluctuations observed across OECD countries over the past thirty five years. The Hodrick-Prescott filter was employed to fi t a long-term trend in GDP to the raw data, and to derive the short-term cycles of each series. We achieved the following conclusion: the size of the government as measured by expenditures and taxes as a percentage of GDP is clearly inversely related to the volatility of GDP. Our results are not consistent with the RBC theory

Abstract	An important feature of development of food industry in the last years is a growing share of production in big industrial plants. It happens so mainly, because of the concentrations processes that have place in the food industry. The biggest concentrations have been taking place in meat, milk and cereals processing industry. A major role in this industry plays transnational corporations which take control over the Polish firms. Acquisitions by foreign investors have had various influences on the overtaken firms. Research results indicate that decreasing profitability and net income per employee was an effect of acquisitions in the majority of the overtaken firms. It shows that western investors have had other priorities than increase of profitability and efficiency of operations

Abstract	The article aims at determining the dependence between the payment of dividend and the return rate of investment in the company’s shares. Furthermore, the author presents the legal conditions of the dividend payment and the importance of the dividend in shaping the market price of the share. The analysis shows that the return rate of the investments in the shares of the companies paying the dividend within the years 2003–2006 was in general higher than the average measured by the WIG index changes. In the analyzed period the number of companies paying the dividend increased. The average dividend rate ranged between 2,54% and 5,21%, what shows that the dividend isn’t the main source of income for the investors on Warsaw Stock Exchange.

Abstract	The purpose of this paper is to discuss all the possible problems which participants of the market may come across, as well as the analysis of how common is one of them, namely the one called a curse of the winner on the auctions on WGT SA. An attempt has also been made to explain why “psychological traps”, typical of acting in the situation of hazard, are not dangerous for such players as Warren Buffet, who was able to diminish the level of hazard connected with playing on the stock exchange, thanks to his experience and great skills. Uncertainty on the market occurs only when you have more than one possible outcome of your decision. The more possible outcomes you have, the higher is the level of uncertainly. The latter one is an inseparable part of taking different important decisions. It causes irrational reactions of the market participants, who are exposed to different impulses and easily get emotional after receiving some information. Abstract	Analysis of financial and production results in large scale pig farms during 1995–2002 period is an aim of this research. It was ascertained that number of large scale pig farms decreased, and most of them operate as rented enterprises. Decrease of acreage and labour resources were also observed within analyzed group. Yields in field production especially cereals yields were very similar across law forms of companies. In all types of farms independently on their organizational and law type decrease of pork production was observed. Huge differences were also visible in labour efficiency. The lowest efficiency was evaluated in APA (Agricultural Property Agency) depended companies, and the highest in fully private and in rented farms

Abstract	The aim of the paper is to present the relationship between two phenomena: unemployment and poverty among Legionowo and Nieporęt communes’ residents, who got Communal Centers Help Social’s (CHS) help. In the study several aspects were considered: the analysis of an unemployment structure, housing conditions and the size of help got from CHS. There was also conduced the temporary analysis of poverty among unemployed. The most of respondents didn’t receive CHS’s help regularly what means that unemployment didn’t promote social help addiction. The poverty among unemployed in Legionowo and Nieporęt communes was the case of short duration but recurrent. The size of social help was to small to raise frequency of its use.

Abstract	Research included 600 geese fattened under an intensive system, and 1000 geese fattened under a semi-intensive system. Data on bird body weight and the amount of feed consumed in successive weeks of rearing constituted the research material. Both characteristics were expressed numerically and the numbers were used to calculate production functions, feed costs functions and the functions of average and marginal product. All the functions calculated were in the form of polynomials and made it possible to obtain information on economic effectiveness of goose fattening. Production under an intensive system was in the most beneficial second phase throughout the whole fattening period. In the case of the semi-intensive system, production entered the second phase in the 3rd week of fattening which lasted 17 weeks.

Wywołują one wiele negatywnychefektów, prowadząc do nieefektywnej alokacji zasobów w skali międzynarodowej. Porozumienieosiągnięte pomiędzy krajami członkowskimi WTO dotyczy m.in. rozłożonej w czasie eliminacjisubsydiów eksportowych. Coraz częściej podejmuje się zatem badania nad potencjalnymi skutkamirezygnacji ze stosowania subsydiów eksportowych. W artykule zaprezentowano ich niewielkiprzegląd.
Abstract	The article concentrates on the analysis of economic mechanisms of export subsidies,which are currently used in agricultural trade. They induce numerous negative effects, leading to anineffective allocation of resources on an international scale. The agreement reached in the recent yearsbetween WTO member states deals with, among others, a gradual elimination of export subsidies in alonger time span. Abstrakt	Reforma WPR z 2003 r. redukująca premie do produkcji zwierzęcej oraz zmiany w polskimsystemie płatności bezpośrednich (od 2007 r. płatności uzupełniające do powierzchni użytkówzielonych oraz powierzchni paszowych uzależnione od obsady zwierząt żywionych systememwypasowym większej niż 0,3 SD/ha) mogą przyczynić się do zmian struktury produkcji zwierzęcej.Istnieją przesłanki by przypuszczać, że wzrośnie chów bydła mięsnego. W gospodarstwachekstensywnych, realizujących programy rolnośrodowiskowe, oraz w gospodarstwachagroturystycznych może wzrosnąć zainteresowanie chowem koni i owiec (szczególnie lokalnych raszagrożonych wyginięciem) oraz kóz. Na rynkach europejskich istnieją praktycznie nieograniczonemożliwości zbytu koniny, zarówno żywca, jak i mięsa. Z ekonomicznego punktu widzenia hodowlakoni może być zatem szansą dla ekstensywnych gospodarstw rolnych.
Abstract	CAP reform in 2003 including the reduction in subsidies to animal production and theessential changes in the Polish system of direct payments (payments attached to the surface ofgrasslands and fodder crops, depending on the livestock density in terms feed units per hectare ofagricultural land > 0.3) in 2007 can contribute to changes in the structure of the animal production.There are reasons for expecting a growth of meat cattle breeding. In extensive farms participating inthe agri-environmental programs and farms specializing in agri-tourism an interest in breeding horses,sheep (particularly races threatened with extinction) and goats can grow. Practically limitlesspossibilities of selling the horse products exist in the European markets, both live animals and meat.From an economic point of view horse breeding can become a chance for extensive farms
