Abstrakt	W opracowaniu zaprezentowano charakterystykę podróży Polaków w latach 2003-2005 z uwzględnieniem podziału na podróże mieszkańców miast i wsi. Analizowano wyjazdy krajowe krótkookresowe (2-4 dni), krajowe długookresowe (5 i więcej dni) i zagraniczne (co najmniej jeden nocleg w innym kraju). Do analizy wykorzystano dane pochodzące z badań prowadzonych przez Instytut Turystyki. Ponadto, szczegółowo dokonano analizy wyjazdów krajowych długookresowych i zagranicznych mieszkańców miast i wsi w 2004 roku, tak aby wskazać na podobieństwa i różnice dla tych grup turystów.
Abstract	The article presents a typical destinations of Polish tourist. The research covered the analysis of differences in rural and urban tourism in the period 2003-2005. There is analysis of short (2-4 days), long (5 days and more) and foreign (at least one night abroad) tourism. The data used for investigation was obtained from Touristic Institute. The analysis also covers long-distance and foreign trips in the year 2004 considering the differences and the similarities of a certain tourist groups.

Abstract	The objective of this paper is to show that economic and political freedom is recognized as one of key determinants of the country’s economic growth. In its theoretical part, the definition, origins, and main ideas of neoliberalism were presented. Next section deals with the concept of economic freedom and its link with economic growth and development. Economic freedom indexes from both the Fraser Institute and the Heritage Foundation databases, as well as political freedom index from the Polity IV database were applied to assess the relationship between rate of economic growth and GDP per capita in Poland over the period 1990–2005. The results indicate that greater economic and political freedom contributes to higher GDP per capita values. However, opposite to political freedom, economic freedom did not serve as stimulus to higher rate of economic growth.

Abstract	In the paper relationship between method of consolidation of the Żywiec Group balance and its financial assessment in the scope of ratios of profitability, liquidity and efficiency was presented. Connections of mutual claims and liabilities in capital group were various as regards sums of settlement as well as terms of maturity. There were significant differences of value of property statement between consolidated breweries, where there were small differences of structure. Breweries differ as regards strategy of financing an activity. The complete method of consolidation doesn’t change financial assessment of the Żywiec Group, where there were significant changes as regards capital structure. Proportional method of consolidation cause similar links of property and capital relationships to complete method of consolidation. Used method of consolidation has insignificant impact on the level of profitability ratios of capital and assets. The liquidity of Żywiec Group, regardless the method of consolidation, was unchanged. The use of proportional method of consolidation caused improvement of efficiency ratios

Abstract	Using cluster analysis and factor analysis, three regions of Poland presenting different characteristics of financial standing of cooperative banks were selected, namely: the southern, the western and the central-eastern. That significant process is mainly expressed by high rate of wages growth in non-agricultural sectors and increase of agricultural input prices, while there is observed the simultaneous stagnation, even decrease of agricultural produce prices. That facts influence therefore decrease of unit profitability of agricultural production and farm income diminishment. The main and even the only way for the farmers adjustment to the new reality is an increase of economical labor efficiency, which they can achieve through growth of farm size due to leasing of agricultural land. Abstract	Value at Risk – the method emerged several years ago that measures potential loss at a given confidence level. The method is undergoing continous improvment, finding new use in financial institutions. Investment briefcase management is inseparably connected with risk mamagement – process succured today with risk models. Presented attempt of enforcing specialized tool for measuring defined risk for separeted risk on property market analysis gives following remarks: 1. In the situation of considerable growth of investition on property market, which is financed mainly from bank infestations, there is need to make out risk models which describes market segment behaviour and let to limit possible loss. The loss caused by overoptimistic predictions and wrong costeffectiveness calculation. 2. Well-known and used at financial market risk models are great tools to connect both segments of market – financial and objective – and for empiric verification including investment projects. 3. VaR model may be used for the needs of defined risk of separeted investment project, which is characterized by indicator of profitability (NP), but obtained results should be treatened with limited confidence

Abstract	In 2004 Poland joined the European Union. It was preceded by a number of modifications, which had to adapt polish economy to European economic space. This situation caused a lot of changes, among others changes in insurance legislation. The work presents insurance sector results, based on Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Commission information, a year after joining European Union. Analysis made in this work proved that gross premium income in 2004 had grown over 11 percent. Despite rather optimistic rates of this sector, we cannot state that Polish insurance market is mature

Abstract	The results of 80 production cycles of broiler chickens, fattened on a largescale farm situated near Siedlce in the years 2000–2004, were analysed in the research. The adjustment of the model and estimation of the function parameters: production, feed costs as well as average and marginal product was attempted. Two levels of live chicken prices and three levels of the prices of feed mixtures were taken into account. The intersection points of the average and marginal product were attempted. The intersection points of the average and marginal product functions made it possible to approximately calculate the moment in which further broiler fattening became non-profitable because of the feed costs. For both levels of live chicken prices and all the levels of the prices of mixtures the intersection points of the average and marginal product functions were determined. It was found that the decrease in live chicken prices as well as the prices of chicken feed mixtures accelerates the moment of the production becoming non-profitable.

Abstract	The article presents survey results dedicated to shopping habits of young consuments and their attitude to supermarkets activity in 2003 in Poland. Young consuments aged between 18 and 35 years old have positive attitude to supermarket shopping. They like possibility to buy several articles in just one place. Majority claim that supermarkets had influence on modernization of Polish market. Half of them state that they should be open on Sundays and holidays. As negative aspects of shopping in supermarkets they mention buying many useless articles, spending big amounts of money and consuming time in long waiting lines. Some researched people claimed that large shops affected nearby smaller shops and caused their bankruptcy

Abstract	The article presents the results of public opinion poll about purchase habit. The data covering the period from 1998 to 2004, showing the changes of a liking for shopping. Consumer’s behavior is close to be European standard. The dissertation shows main economic factor of shopping decision. The shopping preferences are linked to household income, which influence also the food consumption level. Inadequate financial means cause the changes of consumer’s habits. Customers show most interest in those shops which compete with others via attractive prices. The main reasons of the choice of main shopping outlet are: low prices, high quality of products, proximity to home, pleasant staff, attractiveness of offered goods, habit, business hours, plus promotions and sales.
