The analysis considers the main pressure factors within the Member States, the state of their implementation at a European level and also puts forward suggestions which bear in mind the fact that Europe cannot give up its agricultural sector and that water is a limited resource which is necessary for human survival

Abstrakt
Abstract	The current paper aims to outline the potential and most important aspects of the Strategic Environmental Assessment process (directive 2001/42/EC). First of all, the analysis considers the importance of evaluation instruments in decision-making processes and moves on to environmental assessment, focusing on the peculiarities of Strategic Environmental Assessment. Although SEA is an innovative instrument in favouring and promoting a democratic approach to the government and development of the territory, it nonetheless presents a series of problems. The latter regard aspects such as: its integration into planning and programming activities, its role within these processes, the methodologies applied, stakeholder involvement, the quality of the assessment process and the how the suggestions are perceived and acknowledged.

Abstrakt
Abstract	The paper examines the impact of development of agricultural sector on performance of the cooperative banks in Poland in years 1997-2004. The levels of the agricultural development and the economic/financial situation of the banks were assessed by using country-level and regional-level aggregate indicators based on the factor analysis. The research results show that the type of region (i.e. voivodeship and macro-region) has a statistically significant impact both on the aggregate indicator of agricultural development and the aggregate indicator of banks’ performance. As for the relationship between the agricultural development level and the economic/financial situation of banks, statistically significant correlations were found only for four out of sixteen voivodeships.

Abstract	On the Warsaw Commodity Exchange there are quoted futures on agricultural goods and financial instruments. Futures can be used to hedge against unfavourable changes on the cash market. In the paper the model of hedging use in futures on euro was presented. Two scenarios of hedging use were worked out: pessimistic and optimistic. The analysis showed, that thanks to sale hedging, within both of the scenarios, a negative impact of foreign exchange risk on the financial result of wheat sale on the cash market was minimised. An investor was secured of profit from the transaction at the level of 260,000 zloty

Abstract	In the paper the synthetic analysis of changes in the economic activity structure was presented with classification into agricultural rural population and landless rural population. The measures of structure changes intensity and measures of average structure changes in the depiction of fixed base index and chain index were used. The use of synthetic measures of the structure dynamism is an essential supplementation of the traditional methodology in the scope of structure analysis. Not large changes in the structure of economic activity of agricultural and landless people were stated, what reflects stability in this scope, while insignificantly larger changes were observed in the group of landless population. The tendency resulting from higher mobility of that group of people because of land and lower attachment to the place of living was stated. Agricultural people were characterised by higher attachment to the place of living, so possible changes needs more time.

The object of an analysis is three companies situated in Mazowieckie Region. Examined dairies during the period 2003–2005 significantly increased their milk purchase and processing volumes while decreased the number of suppliers. The main factor stimulating the farmers to increase the farm production scale and adjust to the agro-environmental requirements is the way of calculation the milk price by dairies. Abstract	In the paper an analysis of the foreign direct investment inflow on labour market was presented. The level, dynamism and structure of foreign direct investment as well as the scale of employment and labour productivity in companies with the share of foreign capital were presented. The research covers period 2000–2005. The main thesis resulting from the analysis is a statement about positive impact of foreign direct investments on employment increase and labour productivity increase. That impact is significant in the regions of high level of foreign capital concentration, while it is less significant in the regions of high unemployment ratio

Abstract	The article aims at determining the dependence between the payment of dividend and the return rate of investment in the company’s shares. Furthermore, the author presents the legal conditions of the dividend payment and the importance of the dividend in shaping the market price of the share. The analysis shows that the return rate of the investments in the shares of the companies paying the dividend within the years 2003–2006 was in general higher than the average measured by the WIG index changes. In the analyzed period the number of companies paying the dividend increased. The average dividend rate ranged between 2,54% and 5,21%, what shows that the dividend isn’t the main source of income for the investors on Warsaw Stock Exchange.

Abstract	The purpose of this paper is to discuss all the possible problems which participants of the market may come across, as well as the analysis of how common is one of them, namely the one called a curse of the winner on the auctions on WGT SA. An attempt has also been made to explain why “psychological traps”, typical of acting in the situation of hazard, are not dangerous for such players as Warren Buffet, who was able to diminish the level of hazard connected with playing on the stock exchange, thanks to his experience and great skills. Uncertainty on the market occurs only when you have more than one possible outcome of your decision. The more possible outcomes you have, the higher is the level of uncertainly. The latter one is an inseparable part of taking different important decisions. It causes irrational reactions of the market participants, who are exposed to different impulses and easily get emotional after receiving some information. It’s very often the kind of behaviour typical of gamblers

Abstract	The aim of the paper is to present the relationship between two phenomena: unemployment and poverty among Legionowo and Nieporęt communes’ residents, who got Communal Centers Help Social’s (CHS) help. In the study several aspects were considered: the analysis of an unemployment structure, housing conditions and the size of help got from CHS. There was also conduced the temporary analysis of poverty among unemployed. The most of respondents didn’t receive CHS’s help regularly what means that unemployment didn’t promote social help addiction. The poverty among unemployed in Legionowo and Nieporęt communes was the case of short duration but recurrent. The size of social help was to small to raise frequency of its use.

Abstract	Value at Risk – the method emerged several years ago that measures potential loss at a given confidence level. The method is undergoing continous improvment, finding new use in financial institutions. Investment briefcase management is inseparably connected with risk mamagement – process succured today with risk models. Presented attempt of enforcing specialized tool for measuring defined risk for separeted risk on property market analysis gives following remarks: 1. In the situation of considerable growth of investition on property market, which is financed mainly from bank infestations, there is need to make out risk models which describes market segment behaviour and let to limit possible loss. The loss caused by overoptimistic predictions and wrong costeffectiveness calculation. 2. Well-known and used at financial market risk models are great tools to connect both segments of market – financial and objective – and for empiric verification including investment projects. 3. VaR model may be used for the needs of defined risk of separeted investment project, which is characterized by indicator of profitability (NP), but obtained results should be treatened with limited confidence

Abstract	In 2004 Poland joined the European Union. It was preceded by a number of modifications, which had to adapt polish economy to European economic space. This situation caused a lot of changes, among others changes in insurance legislation. The work presents insurance sector results, based on Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Commission information, a year after joining European Union. Analysis made in this work proved that gross premium income in 2004 had grown over 11 percent. Despite rather optimistic rates of this sector, we cannot state that Polish insurance market is mature

Abstract	In Central and Eastern Europe societies had problems in self-organising and creating civil virtues during transformation period. Polish citizens are still reluctant to join organisations, it is observed especially in rural areas. However it is people inhabiting rural areas who organize informally most often. This paper presents case studies of four villages in Podlasie region, in which citizens organized protests against closing their children’s primary schools. The analysis concerns group activeness before these protests, forms of the protests themselves, and activeness of the citizens after the decisions concerning the schools were taken by local authorities. It is concluded that willingness to associate and taking proper measures by citizens results among others from earlier experience in self-organising. Sometimes developing social activeness of local communities requires external help (such as mediation) or support of local authorities

The analysis was carried out in the dynamic depiction and by the types of service. The author stated, that moving towards market economy has important impact on the dynamic development of the sector of services, thanks to that Poland decreased a distance in service development with relation to the developed countries
