Abstract	The article presents the role of science in a process of building the Knowledge- Based Economy as well as creating competitive, innovative agricultural and food sector. The introductory part includes characteristic of essence of the Knowledge-Based Economy and its pillars. Then the authoress presents the state of innovation of Polish economy and the level of advance in building knowledge based economy in our country. The elaboration underline the activities of Polish R&D sector in the aspect of new economy model. The authoress formulates the directions of necessary changes in Polish science (operating for food economy, too), which the science could support the development of modern, innovative economy.

Abstrakt	W artykule przedstawiono kierunki i tendencje rozwoju gospodarek Ukrainy oraz Wspólnoty Niepodległych Państw w warunkach globalizacji. Wśród największych zagrożeń wzrostu gospodarczego Ukrainy i WNP wymieniono dysproporcję w bilansie handlowym, uzależnienie od zagranicznych dostawców surowców energetycznych, nieefektywną politykę inwestycyjną i kredytową. W celu zwalczenia recesji gospodarczej na Ukrainie i innych państwach WNP należałoby wprowadzić politykę stymulowania bezpośrednich inwestycji zagranicznych w priorytetowych gałęziach gospodarki: przemyśle elektromaszynowym, lotniczym oraz spożywczym. W warunkach kryzysu szczególnie ważne byłoby wykorzystanie międzynarodowego doświadczenia w tworzeniu stref postępu technicznego, innowacyjnych grup gospodarczych, m.in. parków technologicznych

Abstract	Facing a global financial crisis the traditional financial analysis encounters entirely new challenges. Credit risk models used by banks require a dynamic analysis supplement. A cash fl ow is the base for such analysis which is performed more often than once a year, preferably quarterly. It will allow monitoring the financial standing of a company better not only before but also after giving a credit. In turn, the implementation of a working capital integrated management system in a company applying for a credit will limit its credit needs and improve the index analysis results both in static and dynamic approach

Abstract	In the paper tendencies of changes of factors of production prices in agriculture, agricultural products in the span of 1995–2007 as well as changes of parity farm area. As the result of faster growth rate of factors of production costs than agricultural prices, there occurs permanent increase of parity farm area. It causes deterioration of farmer’s income situation in comparison with working in non-agricultural branches. The main cause of deepen differences in the income situations of farmers is low mobility of labour factor in agriculture as well as land factor. Changes of the area of agricultural farms in Poland in comparison with chosen European countries were also presented. Against a background of that the model of Polish agriculture was presented

Abstract	The paper presents the methodology of drawing up a task budget and contains practical insights in the first stage of task budget implementation in Poland. After the process of changes that took place during last two decades in Poland, one can argue that the ordinary administration of the State is not efficient. What is more, taking into account single, highly competitive market of the EU, the administration is not sufficient enough to live up to dynamically changing economic challenges. Abstract	Historical changes initiated in Poland at the end of the nineties, followed by integration with the European Union, have forced Poland to face a lot of challenges throughout the economy. Amongst these, there are those concerning the information systems which assist the estimation of the financial standing of the agriculture sector and individual farms. The article presents the current legal regulations and farmers’ duties regarding financial reporting. The first regulation, applicable to only a very small group of farmers, is the accounting act of law. A larger group of agricultural enterprises have to provide documentation related to profits and value added tax. The third group is those farmers who agreed to participate in the Farm Accountancy Data Network – FADN. The article concludes that despite the various legal regulations which obligate disclosure, financial information about the agricultural sector and individual farms is almost non-existent
