Abstract	Plant protection is a very important element of the cereal production. Properly executed plant protection treatments are safe for consumers and the environment. They reduce yield losses and ensure a profit for the producer. The paper presents the plant protection changes after Polish accession to the European Union as well as the plans for the future in this field being in agreement with the EU standards.

Abstrakt	Integracja europejska stworzyła nowe warunki funkcjonowania polskiej gospodarki. Rozwój wsi i rolnictwa zależy w dużej mierze od wysokości transferów z budżetu krajowego jak i unijnego, co stwarza szansę na uruchamianie procesów modernizacyjnych w rolnictwie i pozwala na dokonanie szybkich zmian społeczno-ekonomicznych na wsi. Celem artykułu jest wstępna ocena efektywności wykorzystania wsparcia budżetowego (zarówno krajowego, jak i unijnego) rolnictwa w Polsce. Analiza przeprowadzona zostanie w oparciu o dane systemu FADN z wykorzystaniem modeli panelowych.
Abstract	European integration created new conditions for functioning of Polish economy. The development of rural areas and agriculture depends to a large extent on the financial support from the national budget and from the EU. This creates a chance to implement a modernisation process in agriculture and allows for effective social and economic changes in agriculture.The aim of this paper is to make a preliminary evaluation of effectiveness of public funding from the national and the EU budget in Polish agriculture. The analysis will be based on data from the FADN system with application of panel models.

Abstrakt
Abstract	Agroecotourism is becoming the most dynamical branch of the world tourist industry. The Republic of Belarus has inexhaustible potential for the development of agroecotourism. It promotes a steady development of rural regions, raises well-being of its inhabitants by attracting investments, creates modern social infrastructure and new work places, contributes to the achievement of social and cultural purposes. Agroecotourism is considered to be an important component of a successful realization of the ‘State Program for the Revival and Development of the Countryside in the Republic of Belarus for 2005-2010’. The problem is that the agrotouristic enterprises have not enough money to increase the scale of realization of basic concepts and models stipulated by the National Program. Maintaining and developing the natural and human potential of Belarus will require making the agroecotourism a profitable branch of the agrarian sector of economy.

Abstrakt
Abstract	In the last years Ukraine has allocated considerable, with respect to their load on the budget, financial resources for agricultural support. However the significant increases of budgetary support do not substantially influence the effectiveness indices nor agricultural yields. Such information testifies to an imperfect nature of the internal support mechanism of Ukrainian agriculture. As the result, the domestic support did not become an effective stimulus for a production quality increase nor for a rise in the stock breeding production. In 2008 Ukraine gathered the biggest grain harvest. Increased production did not improve the financial results of agriculture and did not produce a stable and dynamic branch development because of the negative influence of world finance crises. Unbalanced supply and demand for agricultural production, low buying ability of inhabitants, lack of branch effective mechanism of domestic support caused complications of price situation in the domestic food market

Abstrakt
Abstract	Authors define and explain the meaning of two concepts, namely human and social capital and their influence on the socio-economic progress in agriculture and rural areas. The presented studies and analyses point to the link between the growing role of these two factors and the general socio-economic progress. A major part of the paper is devoted to analysing the past and current state of human and social capital in Poland, focusing on their deficiencies and the need to improve their quality. In conclusion the authors note that the significant inflow of financial means after the the Polisj accession to the EU as well as structural and administrative changes will not bring in full the possible benefits in the future unless there is an improvement in quality and an increase of creative participation of the human and social capital. The health aspect is also explored in the paper as a crucial element influencing human capital in the Polish rural areas.

Abstrakt
Abstract	Effects of the climate change appear in several fields of the economy and agriculture can be considered as one of the most affected among them. In a country, where almost 10% of the total GDP is produced by the agricultural sector and more than 30% of the total work force is employed in this field, these changes may have severe economic impacts. As in Romania almost 65% of the agricultural production is represented by vegetal production, we concentrate our investigations on this agricultural sector. Our aim is to present, basing on econometric modeling, how the climate changes will affect the Romanian crop production in the next 20 years, highlighting the territorial differences which appear between the Romanian NUTS2 development regions. This paper presents some of the first results of the FP6 research project “CLAVIER – Climate Change and Variability: Impact on Central and Eastern Europe”, contract no. 037013 (2006-2009).

Abstrakt	W opracowaniu dokonano analizy znaczenia kredytów bankowych w strukturze zewnętrznych źródeł finansowania rolnictwa, w warunkach członkostwa Polski w Unii Europejskiej. Badania wykazały, że kredyt bankowy pozostaje wciąż ważnym źródłem finansowania gospodarstw rolnych. Zainteresowanie rolników kredytami jest coraz częściej powiązane z absorpcją funduszy UE wspierających inwestycje i rozwój gospodarstw rolnych.
Abstract	Importance of bank credits in the structure of external sources of financing agriculture, in conditions of Polish membership in the European Union is analysed. The findings show that bank credits are continually the most important source of financing in agricultural farms. Farmers’ interest in bank credits is more often related to the absorption of European Union funds supporting investments and development of farms.

Abstrakt	Celem głównym artykułu była próba przedstawienia wyzwań rynku unijnego wobec polskich eksporterów artykułów rolno-spożywczych. Wykorzystano wyniki badań przeprowadzonych w 2009 r. i w 2004 r. wśród 30 przedsiębiorstw woj. warmińsko-mazurskiego. Rynek unijny jest bardzo istotnym dla polskich eksporterów, o czy może świadczyć fakt bardzo dużego poziomu polskiego eksportu na rynki krajów unijnych. W 2009 r. największym wyzwaniem (60,0% odpowiedzi) dla eksporterów z woj. warmińsko-mazurskiego była konkurencja, natomiast w 2004 r. dostosowania do wysokich standardów unijnych (57,7% odpowiedzi). W obu okresach badawczych częściej były identyfikowane jednak korzyści wynikające z procesu integracji: w 2009 r. było to uproszczenie procedur w handlu (63,3% odpowiedzi), w 2004 r. wzrost sprzedaży (61,5% odpowiedzi). W związku z perspektywą przyjęcia wspólnej waluty eksporterzy najczęściej oczekują stabilizacji cenowej (93,3% odpowiedzi) oraz zmniejszenia kosztów transakcyjnych (66,6% odpowiedzi). Najważniejszą barierą w rozwoju handlu na rynkach zagranicznych są trudności związane z płatnościami za dostarczony towar (76,6% odpowiedzi).
Abstract	The aim of paper was to show the challenges which arise in the EU market for Polish exporters of agricultural and food products. Results of survey executed among 30 exporters from Warmińsko-Mazurskie region are presented. The EU market is very important for Polish exporters which is confirmed by a very high level of Polish exports to the EU member states. The main challenge for exporters from Warmińsko-Mazurskie region was in 2009 the market competition (60.0% answers) and in 2004 the adjustment to high union standards (57.7% answers). In both researched periods more often benefits following the integration were identified: in 2009 it was a simplification of commercial procedure (63.3% answers), in 2004 an increase of sales (61.5% answers). From the prospective acceptance of common European currency the exporters mostly expect price stabilization (93.3% answers) and decreases of transaction costs (66.6% answers). Difficulties related with payments for supplied commodity are the most important barrier for commercial development in foreign markets (76.6% answers).

Abstrakt	W artykule zaprezentowano nową formę turystyki wiejskiej, tj. agroekoturystykę i determinanty jej rozwoju. Ten rodzaj usług turystycznych na wsi dotyczy organizacji pobytu dla wczasowiczów w gospodarstwach agroturystycznych. Jednak od typowej agroturystyki różni się tym, że rolnicy zajmują się produkcją ekologiczną. Żywność pochodząca z niej jest serwowana turystom wypoczywającym w obiektach agroekoturystycznych. W części teoretycznej artykułu ukazano istotę rolnictwa ekologicznego. Ukazano także liczbę producentów ekologicznych oraz przetwórni ekologicznych w kraju według województw. Następnie przedstawiono liczbę gospodarstw agroekoturystycznych w Polsce. Przedstawiono ponadto czynniki rozwoju agroekoturystyki w województwie małopolskim. W części empirycznej pracy ukazano natomiast wyniki badań przeprowadzonych w 20 gospodarstwach agroekoturystycznych w tym regionie.
Abstract	A new form of rural tourism, i.e. agriecotourism, and determinants of its development were presented. This kind of touristic services in rural areas includes organizing a stay for holiday-makers in agritourism farms. However, it differs from the typical agritourism because the host farmers practice the organic way of production. Tourists who stay in a agriecotouristic farm are served with food made from farm’s products. In the theoretical part of the article the essence of organic agriculture was shown. Numbers of organic producers and organic food processing plants in Poland were presented by provinces. Next, the number of agriecotouristic farms in Poland was presented. Moreover, factors of agriecotourism development in Małopolska voivodeship were presented. In empirical part of the work results of a research conducted in 20 agriecotouristic farms in this region were shown

Najwięcej miejsca poświecono wymaganiom przy ubieganiu się o poszczególne stopnie i tytuł naukowy oraz trybowi przeprowadzania przewodów. Ukazano projektowane założenia nowego modelu kariery akademickiej oraz odniesiono je do stanu aktualnego.
Abstract	The paper presents the state of the art of formal and legal issues connected with the development of scientific career as well as analysis proposed changes in this area. The legal documents were analyzed concerning the degree of Ph.D. and post Ph.D. namely assistant professor degrees as well as title of professor. The paper pays attention on the formal process of obtaining those degrees. Additionally new model of scientific career was analyzed.

Abstrakt	Celem głównym rozważań jest pokazanie współzależności makroekonomicznych decydujących o rozwoju sektora rolno-żywnościowego. Mają one charakter teoretyczno- metodyczny. Cele szczegółowe polegają na określeniu znaczenia związków i współzależności makroekonomicznych w gospodarce żywnościowej. Są one realizowane przez omówienie ogólnej problematyki wpływów i skutków ubocznych w badaniach ekonomicznych, jak też określenie uniwersalnych przesłanek tych badań. Dotyczą zarówno otoczenia makroekonomicznego, istotnego dla rozwoju sektora rolno-żywnościowego, jak też identyfikacji podstawowych relacji wskaźnikowych. Ponadto, opracowanie przedstawia obszary uwarunkowań makroekonomicznych badanego sektora, wiążąc je z oddziaływaniem opcji monetarnej i fiskalnej na sytuację bieżącą gospodarki żywnościowej i perspektywy jej rozwoju. Przedstawia także model przepływów międzygałęziowych jako użyteczny do prowadzenia badań w tym zakresie. Rozważania kończy indeks problemów, które wymagają badań makroekonomicznych w odniesieniu do gospodarki żywnościowej. Mogą być one zrealizowane z zastosowaniem wskazanych przesłanek, wskaźników i metod realizacji.
Abstract	The main aim of the paper is to present the macroeconomic relations influencing the development of agricultural sector. The nature of the survey is rather theoretical and methodical. Particular aims concern defining the importance of macroeconomic relations and dependences in agricultural sector. These aims are going to be accomplished through discussion about influences and side effects in economic research, as well as through defining some general determinants of this research. They concern both macroeconomic environment, which is so important for the development of agricultural sector, and identification of basic index relations. In the second part of the paper, author presents macroeconomic determinants of surveyed sector and relates them with the influence of monetary and fiscal options on the contemporary situation of the agricultural sector and development perspectives. He presents also an input-output model, which seems to be very useful in these research. The paper is completed with the list of other macroeconomic problems, which should become an object of macroeconomic research in relation to the agricultural sector. They might be implemented with the use of presented determinants, indices and methods.

Abstrakt	W artykule przedstawiono ekonomiczne aspekty ekologicznej produkcji mleka. Omówiono tendencje rozwojowe rolnictwa ekologicznego oraz stan ekologicznej produkcji mleka, a także zróżnicowanie cen mleka ekologicznego w układzie międzynarodowym. Przedstawiono przychody, koszty i dochody gospodarstw ekologicznych w porównaniu z gospodarstwami konwencjonalnymi na przykładzie Bawarii, jednego z landów Niemiec, głównego producenta mleka ekologicznego w tym kraju. Przedstawione wyniki bada? wykazały, że ekologiczna produkcja mleka zapewnia dochody porównywalne, a nawet wyższe niż produkcja metodami konwencjonalnymi. Dotyczy to produkcji konwencjonalnej prowadzonej na średnim poziomie intensywności. Stwierdzono również, że ceny skupu mleka ekologicznego podlegają w dłuższym okresie podobnym wahaniom, jak ceny skupu mleka z gospodarstw konwencjonalnych, jednak skala różnic w ostatnim czasie rośnie na korzyść mleka ekologicznego i jest zróżnicowana między poszczególnymi krajami.
Abstract	The paper aims to analyze the economic aspects of an organic milk production. There were analyzed development tendencies of organic production in the geographic picture. Also the assessment of the state of the art of the organic milk production, comparative analyzes of prices between organic and conventional milk as well as profits and costs of their producers have been done. The analysis were conducted base on the data from Bavaria, one of the regions in Germany, with the highest organic milk production in the country. The results show, that organic milk production ensures profits for the organic farms on the same or even higher level then conventional ones run in the semi-intensive way. The paper argues also that the organic milk prices are influenced by the same fluctuations then conventional, however the differences of scale is growing on the favor of organic milk and depends on the country.

Abstrakt	Celem opracowania jest przedstawienie zmian w produkcji, spożyciu oraz wymianie międzynarodowej produktami mlecznymi na świecie w latach 1985-2007. Dodatkowo przedstawiono przewidywania różnych organizacji w zakresie zmian na rynku mleka w latach następnych. Z przedstawionych danych wynika, że produkcja mleka na świecie, w ciągu analizowanych 23 lat, wyraźnie zwiększyła się. Ciągle jednak jest mniejsza w stosunku do potencjalnych możliwości spożycia przetworów mlecznych i jest to czynnik dający nadzieję na rozwój gospodarstw mlecznych i mleczarni na świecie.
Abstract	The aim of this article is to present the situation of the dairy market in the world (milk production, milk consumption, international exchange milk products) in the years 1985-2007. Additionally there were introduced prognoses of different organizations in range of changes on market of milk in next period. Milk production in the world was developing very dynamically. In 1985-2007 milk production increased from 508 to 676 million tone, however milk consumption per capita did not increase. Presented results suggest that milk production is lower in relation to the potential consumption. Therefore, economically efficient dairy farms in the world have still large development opportunities.

Abstrakt	Procesy dostosowawcze przemysłu spożywczego do gospodarki rynkowej dobrze przygotowały ten sektor do funkcjonowania na wspólnym rynku europejskim. Po wejściu Polski do UE nastąpiło przyspieszenie rozwoju produkcji i sprzedaży wyrobów przemysłu spożywczego. Był to efekt wzrostu dochodów ludności i rozwoju krajowego rynku żywności oraz bardzo wysokiego tempa wzrostu eksportu produktów rolno-spożywczych. Duża była aktywność inwestycyjna producentów żywności, do czego przyczyniło się wsparcie funduszami UE. Nastąpiła radykalna poprawa wyników i stanu finansowego przedsiębiorstw tego sektora. Nie spełniły się obawy o masowej upadłości firm krajowych i zagrożeniu importem żywności z rozwiniętych krajów UE.
Abstract	Due to adjustment processes to the market economy Polish food industry was very well prepared to operate at the Single European Market. After the accession to the EU the production of food products as well as their sale have accelerated. It resulted from a rise in personal incomes, development of domestic food market and from high growth rate of agri-food exports. Polish food producers showed intensive investment activities, which reflected the support out of the EU funds. Finally there was a distinct improvement financial results and economic performance of the sector. The previous threats concerning mass bankruptcies of the domestic companies and a peaking up agri-food imports from the EU turned false.

Abstract	Development of market services in horticulture, both production and indirectly production type services depend on many factors. First of all these are economical factors like farm size, level of farm specialisation, labour availability and intensification of production. In connection with that there were made an attempt of development assessment as well as demand for production and indirectly production services for horticultural farms on the basis of farmers opinion pull. The survey shows relationship between the size of the horticultural farm and amount of services ordered by agricultural or horticultural holdings as well as between the size of the horticultural farm and types of requested services. Analysis of the market services in agricultural and horticultural sector for the period 2001–2006 in Poland also was presented in the article
