Abstrakt	W pracy badano zróżnicowanie działalności gospodarstw w zależności od kierunku produkcji i ziemi. Do badań zakwalifikowano gospodarstwa z województwa warmińsko mazurskiego,których właściciele pozyskiwali alternatywne źródła dochodów prowadząc chów strusi lub danieli. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na powierzchnię gospodarstw oraz wyniki ekonomiczne. Dokonano również oceny wskaźników korelacji zmiennych opisujących gospodarstwa zajmujące się chowem strusi i danieli. W gospodarstwach chowających strusie powierzchnia użytków rolnych była skorelowana z dopłatami bezpośrednimi. W gospodarstwach chowających daniele powierzchnia użytków rolnych była skorelowana z dopłatami bezpośrednimi, przychodami i rozchodami
Abstract	The differentiation of farms’ activity according to production direction and land area was analyzed. Farms whose owners had alternative incomes from breeding ostrich and fallow deers were analyzed. Particular attention was paid to farms’ area and economic results. Moreover, correlation coefficients between variables describing farms involved in ostrich and fallow deer breeding were analyzed. In ostrich breeding farms the land area was correlated with direct payments and incomes. In fallow deer breeding farms the land area was correlated with direct payments, incomes and expenditures.

Abstrakt	W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań nad efektywnością produkcji mleka gospodarstw należących do EDF. W badaniach wykorzystano metodę DEA obliczającą relatywną efektywność analizowanych gospodarstw. Badaniami objęto 246 gospodarstw z 255 należących do EDF. W 2006 r. przeciętny wskaźnik efektywności technicznej VRS w modelu ukierunkowanym na input obliczony dla zbiorowości całkowitej EDF wyniósł 0,852 i efektywne były tylko gospodarstwa w Republice Czeskiej. Wynik ten oznacza, że badane gospodarstwa powinny zmniejszyć poziom analizowanych kosztów o 14,8%. W 2006 r. przeciętny wskaźnik efektywności skali obliczony dla wszystkich gospodarstw EDF wyniósł 0,968 i żaden z badanych krajów nie wykazał efektywnej skali produkcji mleka. W rankingu efektywności gospodarstw przeprowadzonym dla zbiorowości ogólnej badanych gospodarstw EDF pierwsze miejsce zajęły dwa gospodarstwa ze Szwajcarii, kolejne miejsca w rankingu zajęły gospodarstwa z Republiki Czeskiej, Polski, Niemiec i Luksemburga.
Abstract	The paper aims to determine the efficiency of milk production on the basis of data from farms associated with European Dairy Farmers (EDF). The data for analysis was collected from 246 farms in 2006. The efficiency of milk production was computed by applying Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). The results of the study showed that the average of coefficient of efficiency (VRS) was in 2006 0,852 and average of coefficient of efficiency of scale was 0,968. The following farms were highly classified in the ranking of efficiency starting with: Switzerland (CH-47725, CH-47721), Czech Republic (CZ-4719) and Poland (PL-45732).

Abstrakt	Przedstawiono analizę efektywności spółdzielni mleczarskich w zależności od wielkości skali produkcji. Spółdzielnie poddano analizie porównawczej według takich miar efektywności, jak: produktywność aktywów, efektywność płacy, rentowność aktywów, rentowność sprzedaży, rentowność kapitału własnego, wskaźnik efektywności Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) oraz Indeks Malmquista. Przeprowadzone badania wykazały, że wraz ze wzrostem skali poprawie ulega: efektywność płacy, rentowność sprzedaży, rentowność aktywów, rentowność kapitału własnego oraz wskaźnik efektywności DEA w modelu CCR.
Abstract	This paper presents assessment of relation between scale of dairy cooperatives and their efficiency. The analysis based on 333 objects shows that the large scale leads to the higher labour productivity, return on assets (ROA), return on sales (ROS), return on equity (ROE) and efficiency indicator based on DEA (input-orientated measures CCR). However the research does not confirm that large scale leads to the higher assets productivity and Malmquist Index.

Abstract	The paper aims to present the formation process and define an efficiency of the financial liquidity strategy in the cross-sectional area income-risk in joint stock company PKM Duda S.A. The moderate and conservative strategies of current assets have accompanied an aggressive and moderate strategies of their financing. The tendency which decreased level of the aggressiveness of financial liquidity strategy, both in a property aspect as well as financial, determined in PKM Duda S.A. the reasonable strategy of the property-financial. The financial liquidity ratios were higher in a framework of the conservative strategies, and lower for aggressive strategies. The residual income was shaped on the lowest level together with more aggressive strategies, instead of obtaining higher amounts at conservative strategies of current assets and financing and the property-financial reasonable strategies

Abstract	Making proper decisions by people who manage enterprises is not an easy work, therefore there is a large demand for the analytical information. The financial ratio analyse is conducted in most of enterprises. However, only its extension by the causal analysis enables to define factors that influence changes in economical phenomena of enterprises. The aim of this work is an attempt to assess the factors which are most powerful in affecting the financial result of the analyzed firms as well as an estimation of the management efficiency based on the conducted research. The partial differences method has been used in the Du Pont analysis model. The study comprised the years 2002–2006. The confectionery companies: Jutrzenka, Mieszko and Wawel, all three quoted on the Warsaw Stock Exchange were analyzed. There have been conducted two types of analysis. The financial ratio analysis and the causal analysis based on the Du Pont model. Obtained results can be used to estimate the financial situation of firms and to make optimal managerial decisions.

Abstract	The elaboration introduced dependences between the debt level and European Size Unit (ESU) with relation to efficiency of individual agricultural farms. Farms which have been using the greatest degree of the external financing resources were characterized with the highest profitability of the equity capital. The interests charge from credits of the agriculture income from the family-holding was the highest in the economically weakest farms with the biggest debt level. The income indicators of the cropland area and the economic work productivity increased together with higher ESU. The farms with the biggest debt level noticed the highest current financial liquidity, however this index was similar to recommended size. In farms without liabilities appeared the highest participation of the working capital in relation to assets. However this participation was the lowest in most economically strong agriculture farms. Managers of these farms streamlined the level of a current financial liquidity and amount of the working capital, that enabled to obtain the highest efficiency of the productive factors usage

Abstract	The paper presents the issue of potential relation between dynamics of dairy cooperatives’ scale and financial performance. The review of the literature in the analyzed area was done. Next the results of analysis of differences between dairies of low, medium and high dynamics of assets growth was presented. Statistics tests showed significant differences between analyzed three groups among such indicators as current liquidity, acid test, debts to assets ratio, debts to equity ratio, labour efficiency ratio and profitability ratios.

The number of farms has incresed in all farms groups in the analyzed period. The value of production has decresed in following farms: very small, average-small, average-large and large in 2004–2006 years. But, the production has incresed in very large farms in 2004–2006 years. The economic results has increased in almost all types of farms. The decrese of economic results was observed in large farms. During to survey it was observed the increse of production calculated per farm anf 1 ha farmland. It was the result of production efficiency improvement and increse of animals. The income calculated per 1 employed person has incresed as the results of work hire in the farms

In conclusion the main reserves for growth of the economic efficiency of pork production are found in strengthening of food reserve and using of complete feed mixture balanced on feed protein, increasing of leguminous plants and many other factors.

Abstrakt	Celem badań była ocena sprawności ekonomicznej produkcji mleka w wybranych gospodarstwach w zależności od nakładów pracy ogółem na 1 krowę. Badaniami objęto 158 gospodarstw, utrzymujących krowy mleczne. Gospodarstwa o najmniejszych nakładach pracy na 1 krowę charakteryzowały się największymi: powierzchnią użytków rolnych, średniorocznym stanem krów i ich wydajnością mleczną oraz najwyższą ceną sprzedaży mleka. Im wyższe nakłady pracy, tym wyższe koszty bezpośrednie i nakłady pracy w przeliczeniu na 1 litr mleka a niższe wartość produkcji ogółem, nadwyżka bezpośrednia i dochód bez dopłat
Abstract	The aim of the paper was an evaluation of the economic efficiency of dairy production in relation to the total labour input per 1 cow. The research was done in 158 dairy farms. The farms with the lowest labour expenditure on 1 dairy cow had the biggest arable land surface, the highest annual average number of cows in the herd and the highest milk yield as well as the highest prices received for sold milk. The higher was labour expenditure the higher were direct costs, labour expenditure on 1 litre of milk and the lower total value of production, direct surplus and income excluding subsidies.
