Abstrakt	Treścią pracy jest próba przedstawienia zmieniającej się problematyki rozważań naukowych w zakresie zarządzania przedsiębiorstwami. W drugiej połowie XX w. dominowały prace naukowe poświęcone ekonomice produkcji. W latach dziewięćdziesiątych XX wieku oraz pierwszej dekadzie XXI w. dominują prace poświęcone zarządzaniu przedsiębiorstwami w oparciu o miary jakościowe. Omówiono znaczenie kapitału w warunkach rozwiniętej gospodarki rynkowej. Dowiedziono, że ograniczenie wartości przedsiębiorstwa do oceny kapitału realnego pomija ważną cechę kapitału, jaką jest zdolność do jego pomnażania.
Abstract	This paper is an attempt to present the changing subject matter of scientific considerations on management of enterprises. In the second half of the 20th century research papers focused on production economics. In the 1990.s and in the first decade of the 21st century the issues of management of enterprises based on quality measures have predominated. This study discusses the role of capital in the developed market economy. It was shown that a limitation of the value of an enterprise solely to the evaluation of the real capital neglects an important property of capital, which is its accumulation capacity.

Abstract	The paper discusses the issue connected with assessing internal policy of liquidity management carried out in one of chemical industry enterprises in 2002–2006. The article includes the main questions from the field of enterprise finances, with special focus on their influence on financial liquidity of the company. The authors concentrated on such aspects as: characteristics of factors influencing maintenance of financial liquidity in the enterprise, their impact on financial condition of the company, as well as standard methods and tools enabling to assess and to improve the efficiency of financial liquidity management. Financial issues, discussed in the theoretical part of the article, were expressed practically and were used to study the reasons for and effects of difficulties connected with maintaining the right level of financial liquidity. The above mentioned difficulties were defined in the surveyed enterprise

Abstract	The paper assesses the cash flow structure of food industry companies from Lower Silesia region in 2002–2004. The research aimed to determine the directions of net cash flow in different types of business activity, namely: operational, investment and financial. Moreover the way the financial gross margin was generated has been assessed. The net profit worked out by the enterprise is not only one measure of its financial condition and not only condition of its existence. There are other important factors, out of which the cash flow is very important. The cash flow determines the liquidity and solvency of the company. The Cash Flow Account describes the flow of money between the balance at the beginning and the balance at the end of the period. It gives the possibility to assess the company’s ability to generate the cash. In short period the cash not the profit is of key importance for a company. Moreover it shows changes that took place in certain positions of balance sheet due to cash flows. It allows also to determine main direction of outflow of cash and to analyze the mechanisms which influence the financial situation of a company.

Zaprezentowano wyniki badań przeprowadzonych w dziewięciu przedsiębiorstwach, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem ich zasobów, głównych działań dostosowawczych, w tym dokonanych w ramach outsourcingu, a także wyniki ekonomiczne tych przedsiębiorstw.
Abstract	Same problems of small and medium food marketing enterprise have been presented. The authors have shown results of an investigation made in nine firms, their resourses, major adjustment decisions, especially in the form of outsourcing, and their economic results.

Abstrakt	W artykule zaprezentowano wartość i strukturę kosztów w grupie przedsiębiorstw rolniczych o różnych formach prawnych i własnościowych w latach 1999-2003. Źródłem poprawy wyników finansowych powinny być ograniczenia kosztów w większym stopniu, niż zwiększanie przychodów. Stwierdzono, że nie udało się ograniczać kosztów w badanym okresie, a jedynie osoby fizyczne dzierżawiące przedsiębiorstwa zmniejszały ich poziom.
Abstract	This article is about costs values and their structure in a group of agricultural enterprises of different legal and capital structures in the years 1999-2003. It has been found out that cost cutting has bigger impact on entities financial results then increase of revenues. Although it was difficult keep costs down the entrepreneurs decreased them over on the studied period.

Abstrakt	Celem niniejszej pracy jest ocena sytuacji wybranych gospodarstw przed i po wstąpieniu Polski do Unii Europejskiej w oparciu o elementy analizy wskaźnikowej. Badania przeprowadzono w gospodarstwie rolniczo-sadowniczym, zakładzie rybackim prowadzącym działalność przy zachowaniu nienaruszalności ekosystemu (na terenie rezerwatu przyrody) i w przedsiębiorstwie ogrodniczym prowadzącym produkcję pod osłonami. Po akcesji Polski do UE zaobserwowano w gospodarstwie rolniczo-sadowniczym i rybackim wzrost zapasów produktów gotowych, w gospodarstwie rolniczo – sadowniczym i ogrodniczym wzrost rentowności oraz ograniczenie zewnętrznego finansowania tych podmiotów pomimo występowania dodatniego efektu dźwigni finansowej
Abstract	The aim of this work is to estimate the situation of selected farms before and after Polish accession to the EU using elements of indicator analysis. The research was executed in a fruit-growing farm, in a fish farm using sustainable production techniques (in a nature reserve area), and in a horticultural enterprise with production in greenhouses. After Polish accession to the European Union a growth of stock of ready products was observed in the fruit-growing farm and the fish farm, as well as a growth of profitability and reduction of external financing in the fruit-growing farm and the horticultural farm despite the beneficial effects of financial leverage.
