Abstrakt	Opracowany model optymalizacji rozmieszczenia gruntów gospodarstw wymaga podziału wsi na niewielkie paski elementarne wydzielane w kompleksach projektowania działek wzdłuż ustalonego kierunku ich projektowania. Daje to możliwość stosunkowo dokładnego opisu położenia gruntów względem siedlisk oraz pozwala na kształtowanie rozłogów działek przez łączenie sąsiednich pasków elementarnych przydzielanych określonemu gospodarstwu. Efektem optymalizacji jest taki przydział pasków elementarnych do gospodarstw, który minimalizuje ich odległość do siedlisk. Podstawowe procedury dotyczące budowy modelu i jego rozwiązania zostały zautomatyzowane przy pomocy programów komputerowych, co umożliwia praktyczne stosowanie opracowanej metody.
Abstract	The developed model of optimizing the layout of farmland involves the sectionalization of the area into small elementary sections. These sections are marked off within the complexes of plots under the design project and along the fixed direction of designing those plots. With this specific model, it is possible to relatively accurately describe the layout of plots in relation to farm sites and to shape plains of plots by connecting the neighboring elementary sections assigned to a given farm. Based on this type of optimization, the elementary sections are assigned to farms in such a way that the distances between the farms and their sites are minimized. The basic procedures relating to the construction of the optimization model, as well as its solutions have been automated using computer software, and, owing to this fact, it is possible to practically apply the method developed.

Abstract	In a research author has performed an analysis of the productivity of Polish agriculture in the years 1998-2006, using the Malmquist index of productivity. The results of the calculations have shown in which period productivity has increased or decreased, and what was a general trend in the considered period. The usage of decomposition of calculated indices led to the decision, what factors have an impact on changes of productivity. The presented results of the research included the synthetic results covering the whole period analyzed.

Abstract	Price linkages between the Polish and foreign markets of grains and pork were investigated in the paper. The analysis indicates a decrease in price differences between the Polish and the EU markets and their increase between the Polish and the US markets. Causality tests and VAR models indicate a strong influence of foreign prices on the Polish markets.

Abstract	Economical estimation rating should aid administrating, current and strategic. At present time, more and more important are methods to detect and evaluate threats for companies continue activity. For addition to traditional factor analysis there are discrimination functions to value bankruptcy threats. PGE company was used for research purposes (company activity: electric and heat energy generating, distribution and dealing). The aim was to estimate financial condition with the use of selected methods of economical analysis). Four models were selected: A. Hołda, E. Mączyńska, J. Gajdka and D. Stos, and the Poznań-based. On their basis it is possible to certify that the company did not belong to the bankruptcy endangered entities. Despite the fact that, specific factors (quick ratio, current ratio, return on equity, return on assets, return on sales, capital multiplier, total asset turnover) indicated that the company’s financial condition should be monitored due to a descending tendencies.

Abstract	In the paper the changes of the structure of an economic activity in Poland in the span of 1993–2008 was presented. The main aim of the article is an attempt of segmentation of analysed time period on periods characterised by similarity of the labour market structure within period. As the elements of analyzed structure authors selected four categories: employed persons on a full-time basis, employed persons on the part-time basis, unemployed persons and professionally passive persons. The segmentation of analysed time period was conducted with the use of vectors elimination method, assuming arithmetical average of non-diagonal elements of the lack of structures similarity measurements matrix as threshold value. As the result of the procedure three time periods were distinguished, characterized by the similarity within period, i.e. 1993–1999, 2000–2006 and 2007–2008.

Abstrakt	Krajowa hodowla roślin jest ciągle państwowa i w związku z zaprzestaniem dotowania staje przed bardzo trudnym wyzwaniem utrzymania się na rynku i dalszego rozwoju. Dodatkowo sytuację pogarsza fakt, że rynek nasion kwalifikowanych w Polsce jest niezwykle mały, a ponadto znacząco zwiększa się konkurencja ze strony podmiotów zagranicznych. Państwowe instytuty badawcze zajmujące się nauką dla hodowli roślin same lub we własnych spółkach prowadzą komercyjną działalność hodowlaną, konkurując z branżą, której powinny być zapleczem. Mimo tych trudności istniejący jeszcze obecnie potencjał hodowlany jest zdolny do tworzenia odmian w większości gatunków, będących w stanie konkurować z odmianami zagranicznymi. Malejąca pozycja rynkowa wynika najczęściej z zaniedba ń marketingowych. Niewielki rynek nasion nie zapewni jednak wystarczających środków dla utrzymania obecnie istniejącego potencjału hodowlanego . niezbędna jest konsolidacja niektórych programów hodowlanych i/lub przedsięwzięć marketingowych. Konieczne działania to utrzymanie mechanizmu dopłat do nasion .de minimis., umacnianie prawa własności do odmiany, skuteczniejsze przeciwdziałanie nielegalnemu handlowi nasion, przesunięcie spółek hodowlanych z instytutów badawczych do ANR celem dalszej konsolidacji i prywatyzacji oraz zapewnienie rosnących nakładów na projekty badawcze na rzecz hodowli roślin.
Abstract	State owned domestic plant breeding is facing free market reality after the public support come to a full stop. Nowadays, the usage of certified seed exchange is extremely low, illegal seed market is common and the competition from foreign breeders grows up every year. Moreover, the state research institutes compete in commercial breeding with the branch they are expected to create new knowledge and germplasm for. Despite this national breeders are still able to develop competitive varieties in majority of the crops. However essential changes must be introduced to maintain and develop domestic plant breeding: consolidation of the state owned breeding enterprises in one hand and then careful privatization, maintaining the .de minimis. support for seeds, strengthening Plant Breeder’s Rights, intensification of the marketing and promotion and increased investment in plant breeding research.

Abstrakt	Artykuł dotyczy strategii rolniczych gospodarstw domowych i zachowań inwestycyjnych polskich rolników, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem przewidywanych skutków zmian wspólnej polityki rolnej (WPR). Badania przeprowadzono w 2006 roku na próbie 63 gospodarstw. Dobór gospodarstw przeprowadzono według kryteriów ukształtowania terenu (na terenach płaskich i górzystych), kierunku produkcji (roślinne, zwierzęce, sadownicze) i systemu gospodarowania (konwencjonalne i organiczne). Dla badanych gospodarstw sporządzono modelowe rozwiązania z wykorzystaniem wielokryterialnego programowania dynamicznego. Modele symulują inwestycyjne zachowania rolników w warunkach różnych scenariuszy polityki rolnej (de-coupling, redukcja płatności, redukcja cen). Wyniki wskazują na zróżnicowane zamierzenia inwestycyjne, wyjaśnione raczej przez indywidualne cechy rolnika i zasoby gospodarstwa, niż przez system gospodarowania i kierunek produkcji.
Abstract	This paper analyses farm-household strategies and investment behavior of Polish farmers with a particular focus on the perceived effects of CAP. The paper is based on a survey of Polish farmers carried out in 2006 on a sample of 63 farms. Farmers where selected in order to fit in the intersection of different farms. location (altitudes above sea level), different specialisation level and technologies. Selected farm-households were modelled with the use of multicriteria dynamic programming. Models simulate economic behaviour of farmers under different policy (decoupling and reduction of payments options) and market (reduction of prices) scenarios. Results show multifaceted expectations to ward’s the future. CAP payments are normally used on farm and concentrated on covering current costs and investment expenditure. The perspective of decoupling is expected to produce either no change or an increase of on farm investments.

Abstrakt	Komisja Europejska już przyjęła lub przyjmie w przyszłości następujące dokumenty wywierające wpływ na rynek środków ochrony roślin: • Strategia tematyczna w sprawie zrównoważonego stosowania pestycydów, • Dyrektywa Parlamentu Europejskiego i Rady ustanawiająca ramy wspólnotowego działania na rzecz osiągniecia zrównoważonego stosowania pestycydów, • Rozporządzenie Parlamentu Europejskiego i Rady dotyczące wprowadzania do obrotu środków ochrony roślin. Przewidywany jest duży wpływ tych dokumentów na rynek środków ochrony roślin w państwach członkowskich. Zmiany będą widoczne za oko??o 3 lata. Największy wpływ na rynek środków ochrony roślin będzie miała prawdopodobnie rejestracja strefowa. W najbliższych latach można się spodziewać zmniejszenia różnorodności stosowanych środków ochrony roślin oraz wzrostu ich cen. Wątpliwe jest, czy nowelizacja wymagań unijnych doprowadzi do obniżenia zużycia środków ochrony roślin w Unii Europejskiej w najbliższej przyszłości.
Abstract	The European Commission has already adopted or will in the future adopt the following acts influencing the market of plant protection products: - Thematic strategy on the sustainable use of pesticides - Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a framework for community action to achieve a sustainable use of pesticides, - Regulation of European Parliament and of the Council concerning the placing of plant protection products on the market. These legal documents will influence significantly the member states’ market of plant protection products. The changes will be noticeable in about three years. The biggest influence will probably have the zonal registration. In the next years we can expect a decrease in diversity of plant protection products and an increase of their prices. It is doubtful if the change of EU requirements will cause a decrease in the use of plant protection products in European Union in the nearest future

The use of synthetic measures of the structure dynamism is an essential supplementation of the traditional methodology in the scope of structure analysis. Not large changes in the structure of economic activity of agricultural and landless people were stated, what reflects stability in this scope, while insignificantly larger changes were observed in the group of landless population. The tendency resulting from higher mobility of that group of people because of land and lower attachment to the place of living was stated. Agricultural people were characterised by higher attachment to the place of living, so possible changes needs more time.

Abstrakt
Abstract	Almost every professional sector has embarked on the move toward sustainability. European landscapes are facing rapid changes in land use, where understanding and management of this process is essential. Sustainability has become a widely acknowledged dimension of huma actions, but still little stress is put on education in sustainability. This paper identifies focus of education, gives suggestions for improvements and presents a new tool for education and training in sustainable land use – “Route Planner”. As results, it provides all users with new interesting facts on sustainability in the European Union and additional materials related to sustainable land use and Sustainability Impact Assessments (SIA). Users got the access to updated information regarding approximately 3000 courses on offer in this topic area throughout the European Union as well as case studies to compare sustainability practices in these countries in comparison to other parts of the world. Furthermore the end result of the information chain also leads the user to a collection of links such as interesting websites and further reading in the topic area

Abstrakt	W opracowaniu oszacowano ryzyko niskich dochodów w wybranych typach gospodarstw rolniczych dla różnych scenariuszy polityki rolnej w perspektywie lat 2013-2018. Analizę przeprowadzono za pomocą symulacji metodą Monte Carlo z wykorzystaniem modelu symulacyjnego gospodarstwa. Wyniki symulacji wykazały, że w Polsce ryzyko niskich dochodów rolniczych w latach 2013-2018 nie będzie wyższe niż w 2004 roku, pomimo przewidywanej liberalizacji handlu na rynkach rolnych i polityki rolnej UE. Gospodarstwa mleczne, szczególnie z większą skalą produkcji, cechuje wyższa stabilność dochodów w porównaniu do gospodarstw z innych typów produkcyjnych.
Abstract	In the paper, the risk of low Farm Incomes in the selected farm types for different Agricultural Policy scenarios for the years 2013 and 2018 was assessed. The analysis was performed with the use of Monte Carlo simulation method. The simulation’s results show that in Polish farms the risk of low incomes will not be higher than in the base year of 2004, even though gradual liberalization of trade on agricultural markets and liberalization of the common agricultural policy of the EU is assumed. Dairy farms, especially those with a higher scale of production have a greater stability of farm incomes when compared to other farm types.

DEA method allows for finding the efficiency indicator of studied objects. The research shows differences in the efficiency of the production scale and differences in a character of scale among the cooperative and others firms in dairy industry in the years 1997-2005.
