Abstract	The paper presents the cost-analysis carried out in agricultural farms in relation to cropland area and the level of debts. The analysis were conducted for 2005. The researches were executed for individual agricultural farms in Mazowsze and Podlasie regions. The highest participation of production costs in revenues was noticed in farms with the smallest cropland area and the lowest level of debts. This results in higher cost absorption of the agriculture production, as well as the lack of modern machines which could contribute to decrease of production costs. In the smallest farms, which have had high level of debts, the production cost in relation to work counted per hour was the highest, which is due to work engagement of whole farmer’s family. The participation of farming costs in amount of all costs was decreasing together with the height cropland area. The highest participation of depreciation in production costs was observed in the group of the smallest farms, which owns very depreciated fixed assets

Abstract	The paper aims to present the assessment of individual customers’ opinions, regarding the private banking section in PKO BP S.A. bank. This segment of banking is most often used by people with higher education and age from 36 to 55 years. The most important choice determinants of private banking customers in PKO BP S.A. are the convenient location of the bank branches and opening hours. The less important mater in this range concerns the aspect of the attraction of the bank offer. The majority of customers described the banks financial adviser as competent and well prepared to work. Customers usually meet with an adviser once a month. The participants of the private banking section use mostly to make the operation on savings-settlement account and also on a prestige payment cards. The majority of PKO BP S.A. customers assesed the private banking offer of this bank as a similar to other banks

The key problem of small and medium enterprises, especially those with high level of innovation is lack of appropriate capital to finalize the conceptual works and to start business operations. Although there are available different sources of capital., i.e. business incubators, technological parks, special aid programs, those are not sufficient. In developed countries are well functioning formal and unofficial markets of venture capital that support business pioneer initiatives. In Poland this markets are in infancy. One of the forms of supporting innovative initiatives and solving problems of insufficient capital are Seed Founds. In Poland already operate 6 seed founds and next two are in implementation phase

The number of farms has incresed in all farms groups in the analyzed period. The value of production has decresed in following farms: very small, average-small, average-large and large in 2004–2006 years. But, the production has incresed in very large farms in 2004–2006 years. The economic results has increased in almost all types of farms. The decrese of economic results was observed in large farms. During to survey it was observed the increse of production calculated per farm anf 1 ha farmland. It was the result of production efficiency improvement and increse of animals. The income calculated per 1 employed person has incresed as the results of work hire in the farms

Abstract	The paper is dedicated a problems concern with development of information society at the Polish rural areas. Based on statistical data (prepared by GUS) one can state, that from 2004 to 2006 the situation on village areas was slowly improving (in 2006, 46% households used computer and 25% had access to Internet), but goals of using Internet is still dissatisfied (especially in cases of: contact with public institution, e-banking). As an example of good working programs dedicated to village society are selected e-VITA program and Rzeczpospolita Internetowa program. Especially interesting is the “e-VITA” program, which is cofinancing by The Polish - American Foundation “Freedom”, The Support Village Foundation and company CISCO Systems Poland. The results of the program are following: 11 noncommercial computers nets on rural areas, many various workshops and information meetings, 400 persons participated in e- courses. In the future (2007–2013 year) local governments will have possibilities to receive financial support in frame of Regional Operating Programs

Abstract	Huge surplus of labour force and the lack of satisfactory incomes cause rural population to searching for earnings in foreign countries. The dynamics of international economic migrations of rural population is significant and became the form of income diversity. The scale, structure and impacts of that complex and regionally diverse phenomenon are very hard to catch, which is probably the reason of weak interest of economists. On the basis of sociological research conducted in three villages from the regions of the highest intensity of international migration the author states that international migrations from the village situated in Opolskie are more often the choice and fixed strategy of rural families, migrations from the village situated in Podlasie are more often necessity caused by weakness of local labour market and worse human capital of villagers and worse material situation of families. People from villages of Podkarpackie, who work abroad, with regard to non-agricultural qualifications and increase of chances of getting better paid jobs can choose return and reverse tendency of migrations from that region

Abstrakt
Abstract	Average full (including capital, operation and maintenance costs) annual heating costs in a standard family house with 180 m2 of floor surface are compared for various heating systems under the Polish economic conditions. The compared heating technologies comprise water to water and ground loop heat pumps with both vertical and horizontal loops, a liquid gas combustion furnace, an earth gas combustion furnace, a coal combustion furnace, a straw combustion furnace, a wood combustion furnace and an electric stove. A sensitivity analysis with regard to the interest rate and the value of owner’s work did not change the general conclusion that in most cases heat pumps were the cheapest, while oil and coal burning furnaces or an electric boiler the most expensive solutions. The cost of own labour was decisive for the appraisal of labour intensive systems

Abstrakt	Celem niniejszego opracowania jest próba ukazania wpływu wielkości ekonomicznej na cechy ilościowe i jakościowe zasobów pracy. Oceny cech ilościowych dokonano na podstawie liczby osób pełnozatrudnionych pracujących w gospodarstwach. Dla oceny cech jakościowych zasobów pracy przeprowadzono analizę poziomu wykształcenia ogólnego i rolniczego. Przeprowadzona analiza wykazała, że najkorzystniejszą strukturę wykształcenia wyróżniały się gospodarstwa o wielkości ekonomicznej 20 ESU i powyżej.
Abstract	The purpose of this study is an attempt to show the influence of farm economic size on the quantity and quality features of the manpower resources. The valuation of the quantity features was based on the number of fully employed workers working on farm. To valuate the quality features of the manpower resources the level of general and agricultural education was analyzed. The analysis showed that the most favourable structure of education featured farms which had 20 ESU of economic size and above.

Do najważniejszych czynników hamujących rozwój obszarów wiejskich oraz rolnictwa należy zaliczyć przede wszystkim niekorzystną sytuacją dochodową w porównaniu z innymi działami gospodarki, rozdrobnienie agrarne, nadmiar siły roboczej, niski poziom wykształcenia na wsi oraz bariery infrastrukturalne.
Abstract	The aim of the paper was to discuss selected problems of Polish rural areas and agriculture. The main factors slowing down the development of rural areas and agriculture in Poland are unfavourable income situation by comparison to other economy branches, small size of farms (fragmented agrarian structure) and workforce surplus, low educational level, as well as infrastructural barriers.

Wyniki przeprowadzonej analizy wskazały, iż uczestnictwo Polski w porozumieniach handlowych wywołało efekt kreacji i przesunięcia w handlu artykułami rolnospo żywczymi. Wpływ na rozwój wymiany handlowej miała również rosnąca konkurencyjność polskich produktów rolno-żywnościowych na rynku światowym
Abstract	The aim of the work was to investigate how the Polish integration with the EU structures effected on the development of foreign trade, in particular in agricultural products. According to the analysis, Poland’s participation in trade agreements triggered agricultural trade creation and diversion effects. Moreover, the development of trade was caused also by the growing competitiveness of Polish agricultural products in the world market.

Abstrakt	Analiza wyników pięciu typów rolniczych gospodarstw z największej klasy wielkości ekonomicznej wykazała, że instrumenty WPR stworzone dla wspierania gospodarstw rodzinnych nie przystają do przedsiębiorstw rolnych z krajów byłego bloku wschodniego. Wysoka dochodowość pracy własnej w tych krajach, gdzie na jedną osobę świadczącą pracą nieopłaconą pracuje od kilku do kilkuset pracowników najemnych, uzyskana przy bardzo niskiej produktywności pracy, była możliwa w wyniku niskich kosztów pracy najemnej i wielusettysięcznego wsparcia w euro. Gospodarstwa o powierzchni często około 1000-1500 ha, w których zatrudnia się pracowników nawet do zarządzania, okazały się w tym przypadku sprawnym narzędziem absorpcji środków oferowanych w ramach WPR, która ma wspierać gospodarstwa rodzinne
Abstract	The analysis of economic results which was made for farms of five farming types (and of the largest economical size) proved that CAP instruments which had been created to support family farms do not perform well in the countries of former Eastern European block. High own (unpaid) labour profitability in the countries where several up to several hundred of employees work per one person rendering unpaid labour, achieved when combined with a low labour productivity, was possible because of low costs of hired labour and high subsidies. Farms with an area of 1000-1500 hectare, employing even hired management workforce, turned out to be a very efficient tool of absorbing funds which are offered within CAP and which had been designed for supporting family farms.

Abstrakt	W opracowaniu przeanalizowano sytuację finansową różnych pod względem wielkości ekonomicznej i formy prawnej grup gospodarstw towarowych i wielkotowarowych. Na podstawie tej analizy i wielkości prowadzonych inwestycji dokonano oceny, która z grup gospodarstw ma podstawy do trwałej egzystencji, a która jest schyłkowa. Stwierdzono współzależność pomiędzy rozmiarami działalności rolniczej, a realizowaną opłatą pracy własnej i poziomem zwrotu z zainwestowanego kapitału. Wskazano na potencjalne skutki zmiany polityki rolnej dla wyodrębnionych zbiorowości.
Abstract	The paper discusses the financial situation of two groups of farms . commercial farms and large commercial farms . which differ greatly in terms of their economic size and legal form. On this ground and on the grounds of the volume of projects implemented, an assessment was carried out trying to decide which of the two groups is stable enough for permanent existence and which is in its final stage of operation. A correlation was observed between the volume of agricultural operations and the implemented remuneration for own work and the level of profitability of invested capital. Potential effects of the change in agricultural policies for selected populations were identified.

Abstrakt	W opracowaniu przedstawiono zmiany zasobów oraz wskaźników finansowych (rentowności działalności gospodarczej, rentowności aktywów oraz rentowności kapitału własnego) przedsiębiorstw wielkoobszarowych uczestniczących w Liście 300 w latach 2003-2006 według form własnościowych. Gospodarstwa te osiągają wysoką wydajność pracy przy stosunkowo niewielkim zatrudnieniu. Jednak występuje zróżnicowanie między poszczególnymi formami organizacyjno-prawnymi. W zakresie rentowności działalności gospodarczej przewagę wykazują jednostki w dzierżawie, niezależnie czy są realizowane przez osoby fizyczne, spółki pracownicze czy inne podmioty, oraz przedsiębiorstwa będące własnością prywatną (jednostki sprywatyzowane częściowo i całkowicie), natomiast w zakresie rentowności aktywów rolnicze spółdzielnie produkcyjne, chociaż różnice między formami organizacyjno-prawnymi nie są istotne.
Abstract	The paper aims to analyze the changes that took place in the large area agricultural enterprises which participated in the .Ranking of 300 the best agricultural enterprises. in the period 2003-2006. There were analyzed changes in land and labour use, labour efficiency and profitability of economic activity as well as profitability of assets and profitability of own capital. The analyzed enterprises were of different legal forms: private, leased, joint companies, one-man companies of Agency of Agricultural Property and cooperatives. The paper argues that the large area enterprises obtained high effectiveness of labour having low level of employment. With regard to the profitability of economic activity the best were leased and private enterprises, while the best profitability of assets showed the cooperatives. The profitability of own capital differ between the entities of different legal form. In the privatized entities it reached from 13,6% in the year 2003 to 28,4% in the year 2004. Accordingly in the leased farms it ranged from 18,8% to 43,9%. The lowest level of this ratio was observed in one-men companies and cooperatives.

Abstrakt	W opracowaniu zaprezentowano wyniki ekonomiczne oddziału stajni wyścigowej Polskiej Korporacji Inwestycyjnej S.A., który prowadził działalność w Ebreichsdorfie (Austria) od kwietnia 2004 do października 2005 roku. W analizowanym okresie liczba trenowanych koni wynosiła średnio 16 sztuk, miesięczne przychody osią- gane z nagród stanowiły równowartość 1151,95 zł w przeliczeniu na jednego konia, zaś koszty całkowite 3331,75 zł, a zatem działalność ta przynosiła co miesiąc stratę 2180,75 zł na konia. Uzyskane wyniki wskazują na trwały brak rentowności prowadzenia stajni wyścigowej na torze w Ebreichsdorfie, co wynikało z niskich przychodów z wygranych, jak i wysokich kosztów działalności, w szczególności kosztów wynagrodzeń pracowników, dzierżawy i utrzymania infrastruktury stajni.
Abstract	The paper presents the results of researches executed in a racehorse stable in Ebreichsdorf, Austria which belongs to the Polish Investment Corporation (Polska Korporacja Inwestycyjna S.A.). Branch in Ebersdorf conducted its activity from April 2004 to October 2005. The number of trained horses amounted to the average of 16. The calculated for one horse incom from awards amounted to 1151.95 PLN per month and total costs amounted to 3331.75 PLN per month. Thus the activity reports a monthly loss of 2180.75 PLN per horse. The results indicate that the incomes from racing awards could cover the costs of horse selection and appraisal only in 41, 8%. What contributed to this result was lower incomes from won competitions and high costs of activity, in particular the costs of remunerations of employees constituting 47% of costs connected to running of a racing stable and costs of the lease and maintaining of the stable infrastructure (19% of total costs). The situation may be expected to improve if horses are trained better. Horses that win more often in most important races, e.g. Derby, Oaks and St. Leger, where awards are much higher. Remedy activities may be sought also at the side of costs. Costs of remuneration may not be limited because of high professional skills requirements for employees of racing stables and no possibility of mechanization of work in such stables.
