Abstract	In the paper tendencies of changes of factors of production prices in agriculture, agricultural products in the span of 1995–2007 as well as changes of parity farm area. As the result of faster growth rate of factors of production costs than agricultural prices, there occurs permanent increase of parity farm area. It causes deterioration of farmer’s income situation in comparison with working in non-agricultural branches. The main cause of deepen differences in the income situations of farmers is low mobility of labour factor in agriculture as well as land factor. Changes of the area of agricultural farms in Poland in comparison with chosen European countries were also presented. Against a background of that the model of Polish agriculture was presented

Abstract	The paper is devoted to the application one of the Common Agricultural Policy instruments – the direct subsidies. The considerations were based on the available data of Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture, other authors’ and own empirical studies conducted in Warmia and Mazury voivodeship among 4095 users of agricultural farms. According to the declarations of farmers covered the majority of them use the funds obtained from direct subsidies for purchase of the means of production (64,66% in 2004, 68,30% in 2005) and current expenditures (51,72% in 2004, 55,97% in 2005). The positive fact is that an increasing number of individuals invest in development of farms (24,08% in 2004, 26,01% in 2005) and allocate awarded funds to purchase of land (4,93% in 2004, 7,40% in 2005), which is an important symptom of development oriented behavior of farmers. It indicates the intentions of continued farming supported in numerous cases by financial potential and adequate education.

Omówiono znaczenie tego kapitału, jako niepowtarzalnego zasobu przedsiębiorstwa, wyróżniającego je spośród innych podmiotów konkurujących. Przedstawiono niektóre metody pomiaru kapitału intelektualnego w przedsiębiorstwach pozarolniczych. Zarysowano autorską koncepcję pomiaru tego kapitału w gospodarstwach rolnych.
Abstract	The aim of the paper was an attempt to show the essential terms of measurement of intellectual capital in agricultural farms. The meaning of this capital as a unique resource of enterprises, which distinguishes the enterprise from the others in a competitive market is discussed. Possible measuring methods of intellectual capital in agricultural farms, beginning with methods proven in other sectors of economy, have been presented and the author’s own concept for estimation of this capital in agricultural farms outlined.

Abstract	The purpose of this study is an attempt to show the distribution of financing investments and operation in agricultural farms between various sources of capital. The investigated sample of agricultural farms was divided into groups according to their economic size. The analysis showed that the main source was farmer’s own capital. It was essentially supported by the payments awarded within the framework of the EU Common Agricultural Policy.

Abstrakt	W opracowaniu przedstawiono wyniki badań dotyczące reżimu technologicznego w produkcji żywca wieprzowego. Analizą objęto 50 gospodarstw trzodowych o zamkniętym systemie chowu. Z badań wynika, że w części gospodarstw w Polsce, specjalizujących się w chowie trzody chlewnej, nie są spełniane wszystkie wymogi w zakresie technologii produkcji i dobrostanu zwierząt. Więcej uwagi rolnicy przywiązują do prawidłowego żywienia zwierząt niż do warunków ich utrzymania. Najwięcej informacji na temat technologii produkcji dostarczają rolnikom pracownicy ośrodków doradztwa rolniczego.
Abstract	The paper aims to present the basic requirements of technological regime in production of pigs for slaughter and areas in which this regime is not kept. The analysis covered 50 agricultural farms with closed system of breeding which kept more then 50 sows or produce more then 1000 pigs. The research shows that part of farms specialized in pig production do not keep all requirements of chosen technology. More attention is paid for proper feeding that to he conditions of animals keeping. It shows that keeping the technological regime might improve the economic results of those farms. The basic source of information about the technology for farmers is extension service. Solely farmers are using knowledge directly delivered by universities and agricultural schools, which indicates the need of better connection science and practice.

Abstrakt	W opracowaniu przedstawiono czynniki różnicujące powiązania gospodarstw rolniczych z otoczeniem. Omówiono otoczenie wewnętrzne i zewnętrzne gospodarstwa, mające wpływ na kontakty z otoczeniem. Badania przeprowadzono w 225 gospodarstwach o zróżnicowanych typach produkcyjnych i wielkości ekonomicznej. Stwierdzono różnice w regionie zależne od wykształcenia kierowników gospodarstw i zróżnicowania przestrzennego.
Abstract	The paper aims to analyze factors determining connections between agricultural enterprises and their environment. The elements of the socio-economical environment were described in light of their influence on farm production and decision making process. The research was conducted on 225 farms characterized by different production type and economic size based on FADN database. Additionally the questionnaire based interviews were conducted. The paper argues that the strength of connections of farms with their environment increase while the education level of farm owners is increasing.

Zaprezentowane wyniki świadczą o znacznym wkładzie ANR w kształtowanie struktury agrarnej, szczególnie tam, gdzie występowała koncentracja gruntów przejętych do Zasobu WRSP.
Abstract	This paper presents the analysis of Agricultural Property Agency’s (APAs) activity, conditions and factors which determine it and its impact on the improvement on the spatial structure of agricultural farms in Poland. It is estimated that agricultural farms extended their areas by 1.7 million ha due to the conclusions of more than 320 thousand sale and lease contracts, which gives c.a. 5.2 ha per one contract on average. As of the end of December 2008 the purchasers and leases of the large (exceeding 100 ha) arranged properties of the Stock used 1.9 million ha of land on the basis of 5.2 thousand contracts, which gives 363 ha per one contract on average. Changes in agrarian structure depend on many factors, not only on the supply of APA Stock land but on general situation in agriculture.

Abstract	The paper presents relations between agricultural tax and chosen production resources in agricultural farms. The highest relation between agricultural tax and cropland area in 2006 recorded in all voivodships. The relationship between agricultural tax and possessed equity capital was comparatively low. Therefore, it could be ascertained that agriculture tax was relatively small tax burden for farmers and did not contribute to their activity production strategy. Most of farmers were against the implementation of income tax instead agriculture tax.

Abstract	The aim of the paper is to define the size and differentiation of agricultural tax concerning farms participating in the system of accounting data collection system FADN in years 2004–2007. The agricultural farms were classified according to the area of productive land and by type of the farming. The highest agricultural taxation was found in the smallest farms areas and in types: „ field crops” and „mixed crops”. In these groups of farms low relation of the agricultural tax to the size of support from the government was observed. This relation showed the real decrease of agricultural taxation burdens what resulted in the decrease of market accommodation processes.

Abstrakt	W artykule przedstawiono dwa wymiary koncentracji w rolnictwie, a mianowicie: relację przedsiębiorstw rolnych (wielkiej własności) i gospodarstw rodzinnych oraz strukturę agrarną rolnictwa indywidualnego. W zakresie pierwszego wymiaru historia nie dostarcza jednoznacznych sygnałów, ponieważ miała miejsce pewna przemienno .ć tych form własności rolnictwa. Natomiast w odniesieniu do struktury agrarnej ma miejsce tendencja polegająca na koncentracji ziemi w malejącej liczbie gospodarstw rodzinnych, aczkolwiek w wielu krajach rozwijających się trend w tym zakresie nadal ma kierunek przeciwny. W Polsce Konstytucja stanowi o dominacji rodzinnych gospodarstw rolnych. Struktura agrarna rolnictwa indywidualnego jest jednak rozdrobniona i jak się powszechnie uważa pozostaje w zastoju. Nie do końca odpowiada to faktom, aczkolwiek przyspieszenie koncentracji do pewnych granic jest wskazane.
Abstract	The paper aims to present two dimensions of the concentration process in agriculture, namely: the relation of agricultural holdings and family farms, as well the agrarian structure of individual farming. The first dimension, history don’t provide explicit information, because there were same kind of land ownerships relocation. In relation to agrarian structure, there was observed the tendency of land concentration in small number of family agricultural farms, although in many developing countries this trend has the opposite direction. The Constitution of the Republic of Poland highlights the mining of family agricultural farms. The agrarian structure of private agriculture is fragmented and it is popularly considered as being in stagnation. This general opinion inaccurately illustrates facts, although acceleration of concentration within limits is desirable.

Przeanalizowano znaczenie oraz wskazano słabości wprowadzanego systemu, a także alternatywy korzystnych przekształceń inspirowanych przez wprowadzenie cross-compliance. Analizy przeprowadzono na podstawie danych GUS, danych Urzędu Statystycznego Unii Europejskiej EUROSTAT oraz danych Agencji Restrukturyzacji i Modernizacji Rolnictwa (ARiMR).
Abstract	Considerations are presented over the cross-compliance principle influence for the agricultural farms competitiveness in the European Union, particularly with regard to the Polish position. Their meaning is anlysed and the existing weaknesses are indicated, as well as the beneficial transformations inspired by the cross-compliance requirements. The data were taken from the Central Statistical Office, the European Union Statistical Office EUROSTAT and the Agency for Agriculture Restructuring and Modernisation.

Abstrakt	W opracowaniu dokonano analizy znaczenia kredytów bankowych w strukturze zewnętrznych źródeł finansowania rolnictwa, w warunkach członkostwa Polski w Unii Europejskiej. Badania wykazały, że kredyt bankowy pozostaje wciąż ważnym źródłem finansowania gospodarstw rolnych. Zainteresowanie rolników kredytami jest coraz częściej powiązane z absorpcją funduszy UE wspierających inwestycje i rozwój gospodarstw rolnych.
Abstract	Importance of bank credits in the structure of external sources of financing agriculture, in conditions of Polish membership in the European Union is analysed. The findings show that bank credits are continually the most important source of financing in agricultural farms. Farmers’ interest in bank credits is more often related to the absorption of European Union funds supporting investments and development of farms.

Abstract	In the paper agricultural tax burden on individual holdings type “dairy cattle” and “granivores”, situated in the regions of FADN Wielkopolska and Śląsk as well as Mazowsze and Podlasie is presented. The greatest amount of agrarian tax is charged on households with area above 25 hectares of the farming type “granivores” from the region of Wielkopolska and Śląsk. The higher relationship between agrarian tax and general level of costs, the financial costs and the incomes from the family agricultural household confirm the greater charging of the smallest-surface agricultural farms with the agrarian tax, within the both farming types

Abstract	The data collected under Farm Accountancy Data Network (FADN) enable to analyze agricultural farms from different perspectives including production and economics. The paper presents the production and economic results of farms located in region of Małopolska and Pogórze, identifi ed in FADN as region 800. It argues that there occurs among others regional disproportions of agricultural activity both in Poland and in Małopolska and Pogórze region. Farmers from this region have to carefully plan agricultural activities, as their economic results might differ from those aggregated for Poland

Abstract	The paper presents the cost-analysis carried out in agricultural farms in relation to cropland area and the level of debts. The analysis were conducted for 2005. The researches were executed for individual agricultural farms in Mazowsze and Podlasie regions. The highest participation of production costs in revenues was noticed in farms with the smallest cropland area and the lowest level of debts. This results in higher cost absorption of the agriculture production, as well as the lack of modern machines which could contribute to decrease of production costs. In the smallest farms, which have had high level of debts, the production cost in relation to work counted per hour was the highest, which is due to work engagement of whole farmer’s family. The participation of farming costs in amount of all costs was decreasing together with the height cropland area. The highest participation of depreciation in production costs was observed in the group of the smallest farms, which owns very depreciated fixed assets

Abstract	The paper presents analysis on credits and loans used in financings the activity of agricultural farms. The empirical research is based on data collected under Farm Accountancy Data Network for the 2005. The aim of the paper is to determine the dependences among the level of debts and the European Unit Size of the agricultural farms depending on committed credits and loans. The results show the relation to the repayment security of the liabilities in farms and the sums of credits and loans counted per one hectare of cropland area. Farms with the highest level of debts were characterized with the diversification of the committed financing resources together with enlarged participation of the outside capital. The economically weaker farms (with a lower ESU) possessed higher participation of the short-term liabilities in the capital structure. It is connected with a reasonable financing strategy. Farms with the highest debts level were diversifying loan capital structure by maintaining higher participation of long-term financing resources, which is rational behaviour
