Abstrakt	Porównano oddziaływanie na środowisko naturalne w cyklu życia plastikowej skrzynki i odpowiadających jej pod względem użytkowym 48 skrzynek kartonowych używanych w handlu jabłkami. Do porównania wykorzystano specjalistyczne oprogramowanie komputerowe w postaci holenderskiego programu SimaPro. Oddziaływanie okazało się znacznie większe w przypadku skrzynek kartonowych, ze względu na ich tylko jednorazowe użycie.
Abstract	A comparison between cardboard and plastic boxes for apple packaging in the wholesale and retail trade has been drawn using the SimaPro computer programme for life cycle analysis. The environmental impact of using plastic cases was estimated much lower, mainly thanks to their repeated use.

Abstrakt	Przedsiębiorcy wiejscy zaczynają odgrywać kluczową rolę w rozwoju lokalnym. Problemy rolnictwa, bezrobocia i ubóstwa wielu rodzin wiejskich, marginalizacja pewnych regionów to tylko niektóre niekorzystne zjawiska, których stopniowe przezwyciężenie upatruje się w dywersyfikacji gospodarki wiejskiej. Rozwój przedsiębiorczości zależy głównie od jednostkowej pomysłowości, wyobraźni, odwagi i umiejętno .ci organizacyjnych oraz wiedzy z zakresu prowadzenia biznesu. Indywidualizm jest podstawą jej rozwoju. Należy jednak brać pod uwagę dużą skalę niepewności i obaw, jakie wiążą się z procesem utworzenia własnej firmy szczególnie w warunkach wiejskich. Dlatego pomoc doradcza, szkoleniowa i finansowa ze środków Unii Europejskiej staje się ogromną szansą dla tych, którzy prowadzą już własne firmy lub chcieliby spróbować pracy na swoim. Problem polega jednak na tym, że firmy wiejskie uczą się znacznie wolniej korzystać z pomocy unijnej niż podmioty gospodarcze w dużych miastach.
Abstract	Rural entrepreneurs start to have a more and more important role in local development. Problems of agriculture, unemployment and poverty of many rural families, marginalization of some regions are only some unfavorable phenomena, which should be gradually overcome due to diversification of agricultural economy. Development of enterprise depends mainly on individual resourcefulness, imagination, courage, organizational skills and knowledge about running a business. Individualism is the core of its development. However we should take under account a large scale of uncertainty and fears connected with the process of establishing one’s own company, especially in rural conditions. That is why advisory help, training and funds of the European Union have become a great opportunity for those who run their own companies or would like to try to work in their own business. The problem is that rural companies much more slowly learn to take advantage of UE help than business entities in cities. Moreover the reality of rural business operations varies so much from the conditions in a city that different methods of influencing rural entrepreneurship should be applied.

Abstract	The aim of this paper is to identify the factors determining the agricultural holdings’ incomes in the EU and to measure their strength and direction of impact on incomes achieved in holdings from specific types of farming. The FADN data from 2006 were used in the study. In order to realize the aim of this analyze the statistical method of multiple regression was used. The research showed that the strongest impacts on agricultural holdings’ incomes have: total utilized agricultural area, technical equipment of labour, inputs of current assets and subsidies on current operations. The strength and direction of influence of these factors are diverse for particular types of farming.

Abstract	The elaboration presents the debt level in relation to possessed cropland area used in agriculture farms. The article deals also with statistical regression model in which as a dependent variable chose the level of liabilities calculated per one hectare of cropland area. The presented research was surveyed in years 2004–2007, in Mazowsze and Podlasie region. Farms have been characterized by criterion of cropland area and were divided into six groups according to classification of PL-FADN. The regression models, estimated in elaborations showed that a variable of debt calculated per hectare of cropland area influenced on the degree of financial leverage and supply turnover in each year. It presented specific factors which had an impact on farmers investments decisions. The highest number of agriculture farms, which recorded foreign capital usage in financing structure, noticed in group of farms which noticed over 40 hectares of cropland area.

Abstract	This paper aims at presenting factors contributing to agricultural income level differentiation in the EU. Statistical data provided by the European Commission and French agricultural chambers was used. The importance issue of cost structure for agricultural profitability was discussed. Certain UE member states have a high share of land lease, bank loan interest payments or farm worker remuneration in their cost structures. The significance of the definitional difference between agricultural income and the income of farmers was emphasized. Taking into account income from non-agricultural sources leads to a lower differentiation of farmer income. One of the principal determinants of income differentiation is varying farm structures across member states. Finally, the impact of the construction of the agricultural support system on income differentiation should not be neglected

Abstract	The paper aims at analyzing links between the motivating employees and the financial condition on the examined companies. The conducted research showed that there were differences in motivating process between companies in good and in difficult financial situation. Companies with good financial standing were characterized by more diverse, attractive and flexible tools of motivating as well as better adjustment of the tools to the workers’ needs. Showing the strengths and weaknesses of motivating tools in the examined companies, made it possible to identify the key factors having impact on affected on the effectiveness of motivating processes as well as positively influencing financial condition of enterprises.

Analizę przeprowadzono w oparciu o dane statystyczne dotyczące sektora cukrowniczego w zakresie wyników produkcyjno-finansowych, z uwzględnieniem ramowych uwarunkowań prawnych. Reforma WPR miała zarówno korzystny jak i negatywny wpływ na sytuację krajowego sektora przemysłu cukrowniczego.
Abstract	An attempt is made of an assessment of the influence of sugar industry regulations in the EU on the Polish sugar industry. The analysis is based on statistical data concerning production and financial results as well as the legal framework concerning the sugar sector. The CAP reform has had both positive and negative influence on the situation in the Polish sugar industry.

Abstrakt	Wspólna Polityka Rolna w niewielkim stopniu odziaływuje na rynek wieprzowiny oraz wołowiny w Polsce, pomimo tego, że dysponuje ona bogatym wachlarzem instrumentów. Zniesienie barier celnych po akcesji Polski do UE w maju 2004 roku zwiększyło wymianę handlową wieprzowiną oraz wołowiną głównie z krajami Wspólnoty, co wynikało przede wszystkim z naszych przewag cenowych, tak po stronie producentów, jak i przetwórców. Zyskali przede wszystkim producenci żywca wołowego, gdyż jego ceny po 2004 roku zaczęły rosnąć, tym samym zahamowany został regres w chowie bydła rzeźnego w Polsce. Postępują procesy koncentracji produkcji trzody chlewnej oraz bydła. W szybkim tempie duża grupa zakładów przetwórstwa mięsnego osiągnęła standardy produkcyjne zgodne z unijnymi.
Abstract	The Common Agricultural Policy has a minor impact on pork and beef market in Poland, though it has at its disposal a wide range of instruments. The abolition of customs barriers after the Polish accession to the EU in May 2004 increased the trade in pork and beef mainly with the European Community countries. This results, above all, from our price advantage, both on the side of producers, as well as on the side of processing plants. The producers of beef cattle acquired the greatest profits because after 2004 the price of beef started to grow, and thereby the regress in production of slaughter cattle in Poland was stopped. The process of concentrating the production of pigs and cattle is in progress. A large number of meat processing plants quickly achieved the production standards required in the EU

Abstrakt
Abstract	This paper presents the possible development scenario of the Polish agricultural sector till 2020. It also assesses the impact of macroeconomic growth, CAP reforms and worldwide policies towards the agriculture on this development. The scenario is build using an extended version of the Global Trade Analysis Project model GTAP which is a computable general equilibrium model of the world economy. The analysis shows that the growth of Polish agri-food sector observed after accession to the European Union will be prolonged in the future and will lead to an increase of agrifood sector incomes. However, it is expected that the positive trade balance in agri-food products will decrease significantly in consequence of the world trade liberalization and the EU policy stimulating biofuels production

Abstrakt
Abstract	Effects of the climate change appear in several fields of the economy and agriculture can be considered as one of the most affected among them. In a country, where almost 10% of the total GDP is produced by the agricultural sector and more than 30% of the total work force is employed in this field, these changes may have severe economic impacts. As in Romania almost 65% of the agricultural production is represented by vegetal production, we concentrate our investigations on this agricultural sector. Our aim is to present, basing on econometric modeling, how the climate changes will affect the Romanian crop production in the next 20 years, highlighting the territorial differences which appear between the Romanian NUTS2 development regions. This paper presents some of the first results of the FP6 research project “CLAVIER – Climate Change and Variability: Impact on Central and Eastern Europe”, contract no. 037013 (2006-2009).

Abstrakt
Abstract	The use of borrowed capital in Latvian agricultural holdings of different economic size and type of farming is analyzed, as well as a comparative analysis with Polish agricultural holdings is performed, defining essential specificities of financing activities with equity or loan in each state. The liabilities burden in Latvian field crop and dairy farms is calculated and discussed in detail. For the assessment ratio of the statistical significance of differences between Latvian and Polish agricultural holdings the debt-to-equity and total liabilities per ESU, per 1 ha UAA and 1 LU, a statistical testing is carried out and main conclusions about an impact of the type of farming, the economic size and the chronological factor are formulated.

Abstrakt	Integracja europejska - wraz z wprowadzeniem narzędzi Wspólnej Polityki Rolnej (WPR) – była głównym czynnikiem stymulującym proces restrukturyzacji sektora mleczarskiego w ostatniej dekadzie. Przemiany, jakie wystąpiły po 1995 roku na poziomie gospodarstw rolnych dotyczyły nie tylko wielkości produkcji, ale również znaczenia poszczególnych kanałów sprzedaży. Celem opracowania jest analiza czynników wpływających na wybór nowoczesnego kanału sprzedaży przez producentów oraz skutków, jakie niesie on ze sobą dla sytuacji finansowej gospodarstw. Przeprowadzone badania pozwalają stwierdzić, że zmiana kanału sprzedaży z dostaw do punktu skupu na odbiór bezpośredni przez mleczarnię wpływa korzystnie na sytuację finansową gospodarstw. Wybór nowoczesnego kanału dostaw wydaje się być uwarunkowany bardziej przez czynniki zewnętrzne niż wewnętrzne gospodarstwa. To nie kapitał ludzki ani posiadane zasoby czynników produkcji, a dostęp do kapitału zewnętrznego pozwala na konieczne dostosowania. Specyfika sektora mleczarskiego w Polsce daje lepsze szanse na rozwój mniejszych podmiotów produkcyjnych niż w krajach o bardziej skoncentrowanej produkcji, w których takie gospodarstwa nie miałyby szans na przetrwanie.
Abstract	The EU accession and integration process - including CAP implementation - has been the most important driving force behind dairy sector restructuring in Poland in the last decade. Simultaneously to changes taking place in production sphere new trends have been observable with respect to milk usage and marketing channel choices made by farmers. The main purpose of the article was analysis concerning determinants of market channel choices of dairy farmers and impacts of these choices on the farms’ financial situation. It was found that changing the marketing channel from deliveries to the collection point (traditional channel) for direct milk collection at the farm (modern channel) positively affects farms’ financial situation. Entering the modern marketing channel seems to be conditioned by the exogenous rather than endogenous factors. Neither human capital nor households’ initial physical assets are the decisive factors. It is rather access to funds that would allow for undertaking necessary adjustments. Given that farms’ financial capital endowments are limited, the marketing channel choice is crucially dependent on having access to external funds.

Abstract	The study presents models which were used to prepare panel data (estimation based on the classical method of the smallest squares, panel model with fixed effects, panel model with random effects). Panel analyses were conducted which were supposed to identify factors influencing revenue figures. Based on the statistical tests it was found that panel model with fixed effects was more applicable then the other methods of estimation (for analyzed type of data). As a result of analyses performed it was found that revenue is mostly impacted by cash-flow, level of employment and work productivity. Established variables improve the management process of sale.

Abstrakt	Artykuł omawia najważniejsze zmiany, jakie miały miejsce w sektorach rolnym i żywnościowym w wyniku globalizacji. Sektor rolny stanowi główny obszar analiz niniejszego opracowania. Wskazuje ono, że w wyniku procesów globalizacji większość państw na świecie wprowadziła różne formy subsydiowania rolnictwa. W przypadku Unii Europejskiej bez Wspólnej Polityki Rolnej procesy globalizacyjne doprowadziłyby do destrukcyjnych zmian, na które narażone byłyby głównie małe gospodarstwa.
