Abstract	The expression development for free cash flows to firm taking into account the flat-rate tax on special branches of agricultural production was necessary to use the target costing for the analysis of agricultural investment project. It made possible to present essential for this costing the appropriately changed formula for target minimum rate of return on sales therefore. The modified current unit cost for investment project was lower than the allowable cost. Discount criteria for acceptance of this project were fulfilled. The size of the safety margin and safety margin rate for current costs reached a level indicating a low risk of failure of the project.

Abstract	In the years 2000–2010 Polish cooperative banking sector was characterized by a strong and stable economic situation. In particular, the period 2000–2006 indicated a huge potential for cooperative banks, which allowed them to systematically increase the market share. Fundamental changes in the cooperative arrangements aimed at Western Europe – the merger of two banks associations and the ability to issue bonds by the cooperative banks, while viability of the sector and its high potential point to the significant development opportunities, further strengthening the capital and the ability to make better use of economies of scale, allowing both reduce operating costs, as well as improve the effectiveness of cooperative banks and allow the dynamic development of new technologies.

Abstract	The aim of this paper was to determine the situation of the EU farms in 2009 according to their production potential and to identify changes of the situation compared to 2004. FADN data was used in the paper. Then, grouping farms was conducted by means of cluster analysis. For clusters separated on farm’s equipment with production factors the financial indicators and income per farm and per employee were calculated. A more favourable income situation occurs in farms with a more correct relations between the resources of capital and other production factors, although the financial situation of those entities assessed on the basis of financial indicators is not always clearly favourable.

Abstract	The paper presents an analysis of the process of shaping European Union legislation on GMO’s. Describes impact on the legislative process by the most important of the EU institutions: the Commission, the Council and the European Parliament as well as by various lobbing groups. The complexity and partial openness of the Union’s legislative process introduced in Lisbon Treaty was seen as an opportunity for consulting various Union’s social groups. As demonstrated in the work, existing system allows organized groups to delay substantially or even reject proposed changes in the EU legislation, important from the point of maintaining the global competitiveness of the European Union.

Abstract	Structural changes in agriculture concern both production sphere as well as economic and social ones. Transformation in Polish agriculture has been performing for many years, first under influence of system transformation, next as the result of integration and globalization processes. These changes are similar to the changes in “old 15” countries of EU. Above mentioned changes regard employment reduction in agriculture, increase of production factors productivity, as well as improvement of rural farms area structure. The dynamics of transformation is greater than in “old EU – 15” countries. But productivity of production factors, especially labor productivity is far more lower than in high developed countries. The instruments of Common Agriculture Policy as well as coherence policy and structural policy are the chance for accelerating of transformation in agriculture.

Abstract	The economic crisis resulted in attempts to speed up the process of consolidation of public finances in the European Union. The purpose of this article is to determine the scale and nature of changes in the level of national state aid allocated to agriculture in recent years by the EU member states. The main source of data used on the types and scale of domestic agriculture aid granted by Member States of the EU in the period 2005–2010 was the European Commission. In the first part of the article the principles of aid for agriculture in the EU are discussed. Then the scale of support for this sector is presented. In the last part of the paper changes in the amount of support recorded in recent year are described.

Title	The Possession of Durable Goods in Polish Households in the Period of Crisis

Abstract	The article is an attempt at estimating the possession of durable goods in households facing financial and economic crisis. The data have been obtained from the field research conducted in ten largest Polish cities between June and September 2011. The sample consisted of 1896 respondents. To determine what durable goods are possessed by households faced by crisis, the availability of mechanical household appliances, infotainment and portable equipment is analysed. Then the article examines how long the equipment has been in use, the level of satisfaction of households’ demand for durable goods and changes in their availability. The article closes with a summation and major conclusions.

Abstract	An analysis of price changes at particular levels of main agri-food markets, namely cereal market, dairy market and meat market, implies that price shifts that occurred over the period of 2004–2011 were favourable for agriculture. Polish accession to the EU triggered increase in retail food prices. Despite considerable short-term fluctuation there were no substantial changes in the share of producers, processors and traders in retail prices of food. Price mechanism assured efficient price transmission between particular stages of food markets which after price shocks recovered to previous proportions of particular margins resulting from long-term equilibrium.

Abstract	The aim of the article is an attempt to look at the cultivation contract as an instrument of organisation of the agricultural market in the limited production system. The contract is considered with the example of one of the most ‘regulated’ agricultural markets, i.e. the sugar market. It is especially important to answer the question how much the current regulation of cultivation contracts enables the market to function effectively, in accordance with the assumptions of the Common Agricultural Policy. The article comprises both the issues concerning the changes taking place in the signing of cultivation contracts in different conditions of political systems and the role of the contract designated by the Community legislature after Poland’s accession to the European Union. The considerations end with an attempt to answer the question which direction the regulation of law concerning cultivation contracts should go from the point of view of a sugar beet grower and sugar manufacturer.

Abstract	Sectoral Operational Programme Restructuring and Modernization of the Food Sector and Rural Development (SOP AGRICULTURAL) in 66% co-financed by EU funds and in 34% from the national budget, was one of the tools of agricultural policy in Poland in the first period after accession. As a part of this program 15 measures were implemented. One of these measure was called: “Improving in processing and marketing of agricultural products”, with a budget of 0.5 billion EUR, which made a quarter the entire programme budget. The support for processing under the SOP AGRICULTURAL consisted in the capital expenditures reimbursement to companies for construction or modernization of production facilities and infrastructure for wholesale trade in agricultural products. One of the conditions indispensable to receive support was the economic viability – i.e. the ability of companies to implement the project and to the further continuation of profitable business in the sector. The aim of the article is to present the results of “Improving in processing and marketing of agricultural products” under the SOP of Agriculture in the meat industry sector, by analyzing the financial performance of companies that have benefited from support. The study complies 20 companies from the area of five provinces from Central Poland and North-East of Poland: warmińsko - mazurskie, podlaskie, lubelskie, mazowieckie and łódzkie. Companies were divided into three groups, taking as a criterion for division the value of their assets in the base year of 2004. The study results show that some enterprises, improved financial results in line with the program. These are companies with value of assets ranging from 30 to 90 million zł. The smaller companies (asset value to 30 million zł) observed decline in financial performance. Financial situation of the largest companies (assets in excess of 90 million zł) did not change.

Moreover it combines economic, social and environmental objectives. Implementation of financial support made the growth of the number of organic farms in Poland possible. Unfortunately this process didn’t influence the development of the organic market. This research paper confirms the negative impacts of enforcement of organic financial support in Poland. In the future, this could result in the change in the target group for the subsidies towards organic farms that produce goods mainly for the organic market. But it will also reduce support for small family farms which future, in this case, brings into question.

Abstract	Based on the survey conducted among the group of weekends students it can be concluded that the most important motivating factor was an amount of remuneration. At the same time there was a clear difference between students expectations and the degree of their satisfaction in this area. It indicates that possibility of getting a higher salary could still motivate people and could be used as a factor increasing workers performance and productivity. Cultural changes in a society and employment policy points a shift from external motivators culture to a high tolerance of uncertainty and risk culture. An important aspect of building personnel motivation system in a future will attitude to create active behavior of employees who are flexible and open to changes. Abstract	In the paper methods of accounting for VAT were presented and compared between flatclears farmers and farmers – payers of VAT in general principles. For example, the selected farms was showed measurable financial benefits when the farmer has been giving up the flat-rate VAT system. It was presented the views of 50 farmers from the Podlaskie voivodship about experiences with the transition to pay VAT in general principles. The results of research which shows that the main cause of change in accounting, particularly for farmers investing in fixed assets (machinery and buildings), there are high returns on the excess input tax due, taxpayers may have to spend on further development of his farm. It also showed that farmers’ knowledge on the economic benefits of altering the status of flat clearers farmer to farmer who pay VAT in general principles is more available and farmers are increasingly inclined to opt for such a solution. Farmers keeping VAT accounts and records often rely entities possessing the necessary expertise in tax matters.

Abstract	The elaboration presents conception of quick financial liquidity test model. The results of a research bring forward to a conclusion that between level of a quick liquidity ratio and difference of receivables and liabilities cycle ratio appeared in a positive correlation, which could be ascertained as a quite strong relation. The research reflects that the level of quick financial liquidity ratio greatly depends on receivables and liabilities management policy. The estimated model was a base for a statement that changes in difference between turnover cycle ratios – for instance one day, caused a 0,0082 change in level of a quick liquidity ratio pattern.
