Abstract	The aim of the paper is to present and compare different variants to choose the form of taxation of income earned by farmers in non-agricultural economic activity. Thanks of study case of selected farmer, it was shown measurable financial benefits that the farmer can obtain as taxpayer. It depends on the choice of the proper method of taxation of income. It is shown that the choice of optimal form of taxation is individual for every entrepreneur. It depends on the factors affecting the manner of calculating the tax. The study presents the opinions of 50 farmers from the Podlaskie voivoidship on experience related to conducting nonagricultural economic activities. The results of research, which show that respondents usually choice general principles of the tax scale. Respondents – mostly agricultural producers – decide on the selection of accounting for income taxes after receiving information from accounting office. Later this accounting office keep accounts for this farmers.

Abstrakt	W Polsce po 1993 roku obserwowano dynamiczny rozwój produkcji ogrodniczej pod osłonami. Równocześnie obawiano się o jej przyszłość po zniesieniu barier celnych w wyniku akcesji do Unii Europejskiej. W pracy podjęto próbę zweryfikowania tych obaw. Przeprowadzono badania zmian w powierzchni upraw ogrodniczych pod osłonami w Polsce w latach 2000-2009. Analizowano kierunek i dynamikę zmian całkowitego areału pod osłonami oraz areału upraw warzywniczych i kwiaciarskich, w tym kwiatów ciętych, a także strukturę upraw według grup roślin i typów osłon oraz zróżnicowanie regionalne. Badania wykazały, iż przystąpienie do Unii Europejskiej nie miało istotnego wpływu na naszą produkcję pod osłonami. Od 2003 roku powierzchnia upraw warzyw jest na stabilnym poziomie, a powierzchnia upraw kwiaciarskich wykazuje niewielką tendencję rosnącą. Odnotowano zmiany w strukturze produkcji w poszczególnych województwach.
Abstract	A high rate of development of horticultural production under cover was observed in Poland since 1993. However, economists were anxious about its future after our integration with the UE and the abolishment of tariff walls. The aim of the study was to verify those opinions. The changes in the horticultural acreage under cover in Poland during the years 2000-2009 have been investigated. The tendency and dynamics of changes in the area under cover and their structure according to group of plants, cover types and regions of Poland have been analysed. It was found that our integration with the UE had no influence on our greenhouse production sector. Since 2003, the acreage under vegetable cultivation is stable and that under floriculture production shows a gradual increase. Changes in the production structure in particular provinces were noticed

Abstract	The elaboration presents farmers opinions concerning introducing income tax in agriculture farms, level of assessment rate and the legitimacy for replacing agriculture tax by lump-sum tax. The principle benefit of introducing the income tax in agriculture is the fact that the burden from this title will appear only situation when the farm obtains income. Furthermore higher income tax will be paid by farms with higher economic power. Accepted by majority assessment tax rate is 3% or 8.5%. Taxation based on income tax rules according to tax on physical and on legal bodies did not meet the approval of farmers. In farmer’s view the lump-sum tax, replacing agriculture tax, should be diversified according to financial situation in agriculture. The established amount of these tax should concern mainly the scale and type of agriculture production as well as it’s relation to cropland area.

Abstract	In this article the level of fiscal burden in terms of threat of brewery enterprises bankruptcy was discussed. On the basis on chairmen of enterprises opinions the Author stated that too high fiscal duties (e.g. excise tax) are significant factor limited breweries development. Tax government policy has tremendous importance for the beer industry representatives. On the one hand, excessive fiscal impact could decreasing tax revenues, on the other hand, it can lead to production and sales effectiveness reduction, and therefore threat of enterprises bankruptcy.

The study shows also deficiencies that hinder the most milk production, and the opportunities that may be used by farmers to production. The article contains information about the changes that the respondents intended to introduce on their farms in the coming years. The findings were presented to the division of farms into groups depending on the number of dairy cows in the herd.

Abstract	The aim of the paper was to determine the influence of the selected kinds of mass media on shaping the consumer’s consciousness within the scope of food, perception of nutritional standards and whether it is connected with the respondents’ demographical determinants. The research has been conducted in 2009–2010, on the group of 500 residents of Olsztyn, over 16 years old, recruited mainly in the shopping centres and popular public places. The method applied to this research constitutes a kind of survey, namely an interview form/ questionnaire. In order to establish the correlation between the demographical factors and perception of the selected mass media forms (information concerned with food and nutritional standards) one-factor adverbials analysis has been used. Taking into account the demographical factors of the respondents, the age was the main determinant having influence on the perception of different mass media used to convey food and nutritional information. Moreover, it has been established that the age factor significantly differentiated respondents’ opinions on the matter of perceiving the nutritional value as useful information and important from the dietary point of view and information that is helpful when it comes to product choices/choosing as well. The influence of the education on the perception of nutritional value as useful information in the process of product’s choice has been observed. To sum up, age was the factor differentiating consumers’ choices and perception in the most significant way.

W konkluzji wysunięte zostały propozycje zmiany przepisów poświęconych podatkowi rolnemu
Abstract	The paper presents the legal issues related to the investment relief in agricultural tax. A particular attention was paid to the question of incentives for investments financed from public funds, including the EU budget. The doctrine, opinions of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and new rules for granting relief provided for in the amendment of the parliamentary act, which entered into force on 1 January 2009, were reviewed. Some proposals of amendments to the legal regulation of agricultural tax were put forward in conclusion.

Ich celem było uzyskanie informacji i opinii o działaniach instytucji i organizacji szczebla lokalnego i ogólnokrajowego na rzecz rozwoju agroturystyki. Ankietowani najwyżej ocenili współpracę z Polską Federacją Turystyki Wiejskiej „Gospodarstwa Gościnne” oraz Pomorskim Ośrodkiem Doradztwa Rolniczego w Gdańsku
Abstract	In rural areas with low agricultural potential, the agrotourism provides a financial stability for small and medium-sized farms. It is also a stimulator of the local economy, thus providing a revenue for municipal budgets. A positive action and cooperation in tourism development can be seen in many communities of the Pomeranian province. In the months August - November 2009 the author of this article carried a primary research among the owners of agrotourist farms in the Pomeranian province. The goal was to obtain information and opinions about the activities of local and national level institutions and organizations in the field of agrotourism development. Respondents rated highest the cooperation with the Polish Federation of Rural Tourism Hospitable Farms and the Pomeranian Agricultural Advisory Center in Gdansk.

Abstrakt	W opracowaniu skupiono się na wewnętrznych czynnikach kształtujących efekty pracy grupowej. Celem badań było określenie typu członka, sposobu podejmowania decyzji oraz warunków określania zadań (planowanie, narady, postawy wobec innych członków, ryzyko zadań, występowanie strachu i kar), które towarzyszą zmianie dochodu. Źródłem informacji były opinie rolników zrzeszonych w grupach producenckich województwa podkarpackiego uzyskane w kwestionariuszu wywiadu w 2006 roku. Wyniki wskazują m.in., że w gospodarstwach, w których wzrósł dochód po wstąpieniu do grupy, powszechny był typ rolnika o charakterze plemiennym (przyjacielskim), grupowe i negocjacyjne sposoby podejmowania decyzji, a zadania realizowane były na podstawie planu, dyscypliny i wewnętrznej odpowiedzialności członków, wykazujących respekt wobec siebie i wspólnych zadań.
Abstract	Group work is one of the forms of organization, to increase farmers income. The article focuses on internal factors influencing the outcomes of group work. The aim of this study was to determine: what type of member, what ways of making decisions and what conditions defining the tasks (planning, deliberation, attitudes towards other members, the risk of tasks, the occurrence of fear and punishment) is accompanied by change in income. The sources of information were the opinions of farmers are members of groups of producers of Podkarpackie Provence obtained in the questionnaire interview in the year 2006. The results indicate that in farms where income has increased after joining to group, the general type of farmer (member) type was friendly, way of making decisions were: group decision and negotiating and tasks were based on a plan, discipline and internal accountability members, showing respect to each other and common tasks.

Abstract	In the paper inhabitant’s income depending on Mazowieckie voivodship commune development level were presented. In the first research stage the communes’ development level was described by synthetic index (based on regional Data Bank 2004). Then, local government representatives responded questions in a survey that was carried out in 2007 in those communes. In the group of the most developed communes respondents most often pointed out that the inhabitant’s income are above country average. There is stratifycation of inhabitant’s income and the opinions were similar in both groups of local communes. Abstract	The project aimed at studying basic functional conditions for farms managed by young farmers. It showed that young farmers have been active and susceptible to changes, with consequential farm modernization. In their own opinions, the most important internal barriers in farm development are the shortage of own financial means, too small farm area and poor farm outfit with fixed assets. The most often indicated major factors dominating among external, farm-independent barriers were: too high prices of essential farm-production necessities, inflow of food products from abroad and problems experienced in sales of farm products and services. For an effective farm modernization process, young farmers need support from the institutional environment, including that by advisory and financial institutions, payment agencies, non-governmental organizations and local self-governments

Abstrakt	W pracy przedstawiono opinie rolników na temat stosowanych obecnie i rozważanych na przyszłość metod ograniczania ryzyka ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem ubezpieczeń rolniczych. Z przeprowadzonych badań wynika, iż niewielki odsetek rolnik ów korzysta z ubezpieczeń rolnych, chociaż znaczna część badanych deklaruje zmiany w tym zakresie.
Abstract	Farmers face several types of risk in their agricultural activity. Most of interviewed farmers faced unexpected losses in their production in last few years. The main reason of the loses was drought. Only few farmers used active methods of risk protection like agricultural insurance, however a lot of farmers declared implemented insurance in their farms in the futures, mainly due to the new law obligation. Farmers. opinions about modern methods of risk reduction turned out to be rather negative. The main reason of this situation seems to be lack of knowledge.

Abstrakt	W artykule zaprezentowano syntezę doświadczeń krajów Europy Środkowo- Wschodniej, które w początkach ostatniej dekady minionego wieku podjęły wyzwanie przekształceń własnościowych w rolnictwie swoich krajów. Podstawą przekształceń było przywracanie praw własności (restytucja) do gruntów rolnych ich byłym właścicielom lub nadawanie praw własności do gruntów innym uprawnionym beneficjentom transformacji. W artykule wyodrębniono cechy wspólne transformacji w wybranych grupach krajów oraz przedstawiono przykłady krajów realizujących koncepcję przemian odmienną od dominującego modelu transformacji.
Abstract	The article aims to present the synthesis of experiences resulting from transformation of land ownership rights in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe (CEEC). In the majority of CEEC, after the liquidation of cooperative and state farms, agricultural land was privatized through the restitution of ownership rights belonging previously to private persons. In some CEEC the beneficiaries of restitution arouse from employees of agricultural service, country pensioners or even people not connected with agriculture. This kind of restitution is mostly named as land reform. Sometimes new landowners did not undertake any agricultural activity due to the lack of financial means, agricultural education or motivation for work in agriculture. In this case the territorial structure of former users of land was unchanged but nowadays they are market-oriented cooperatives or large private enterprises. In few CEEC the transformation did not change the essence of the activity of previous agricultural cooperatives or state farms. However, despite various opinions about the results of transformation it seems to be unquestionable that old model of state and cooperative farms will not play a substantial role in the development of the economies of mentioned countries

Abstrakt	Praca ma charakter przeglądowy. Zawarte są w niej opinie konsumentów, wyniki badań oraz analiza materiałów pochodzących z krajowych oraz zagranicznych źródeł literaturowych. Przedstawione są zarówno korzyści oraz szanse, jak i zagrożenia związane z wpływem upraw ro??lin i hodowlę zwierząt zmodyfikowanych genetycznie na produkcję żywności i ludzkie zdrowie. Dodatkowo zawarte są przepisy prawne i regulacje obowiązujące w Polsce dotyczące możliwości dopuszczenia na rynek produktów transgenicznych
Abstract	This paper provides an overview of problems posed by transgenic food. It covers the consumers’ opinions, survey results, and analysis of material from various national and foreign sources connected with the subject of genetically modified food. Moreover, the paper shows benefits from and barriers for an increase in growing plants and breeding animals that are genetically modified, as well as the potential impact of transgenic food production on human health. Additionally, it reviews the legal provisions and regulations binding in Poland on genetically modified organisms, including food.

Abstract	The paper aims to present the opinion of managers of dairy cooperatives about the costs management in their entities. There were interviewed 45 deliberately chosen dairy cooperatives. The results show that only the biggest cooperatives, characterised by the best financial situation, employees a dedicated person for costs analysis. Accordingly the main problem that managers of interviewed cooperatives face, are connected to simplification of book keeping and lack of qualified staff responsible for costs management

Abstract	The paper aims to present the assessment of individual customers’ opinions, regarding the private banking section in PKO BP S.A. bank. This segment of banking is most often used by people with higher education and age from 36 to 55 years. The most important choice determinants of private banking customers in PKO BP S.A. are the convenient location of the bank branches and opening hours. The less important mater in this range concerns the aspect of the attraction of the bank offer. The majority of customers described the banks financial adviser as competent and well prepared to work. Customers usually meet with an adviser once a month. The participants of the private banking section use mostly to make the operation on savings-settlement account and also on a prestige payment cards. The majority of PKO BP S.A. customers assesed the private banking offer of this bank as a similar to other banks

Abstract	The paper presents individual farmers’ opinions concerning some suggestions on imposing income tax on agriculture. Assumptions and results of this tax implementation were assessed. Research results indicate that farmers generally are not definitive opponents of the income tax introduction into Polish agricultural sector. However, farmers judged this proposition as being unbeneficial for them mostly since complicated tax settlements and potential inspections by the tax offices. Moreover, they are willing to accept potentially lowest tax rate on their earned income without subtracting the costs of farmer’s own labor and of farm family labor. Farmers perceived potential advantages of the agricultural income tax introduction such as tax relieves and tax exemptions, as well as exclusion of some quasi-farmers from the system. Farmers were also in favour about concept of progressive income-tax and lump-sum tax with lower rates
