Abstrakt	Wspólna Polityka Rolna Unii Europejskiej stwarza szanse dla terenów Polski Wschodniej przez popieranie zmiany orientacji rozwojowej z rolniczej na wielofunkcyjną. Takiemu rozwojowi powinien towarzyszyć wzrost krajowego PKB, pociągający za sobą wzrost konsumpcji. Zamożne społeczeństwo będzie bowiem zawsze poszukiwał zróżnicowanej i bezpiecznej żywności. Taka żywność jest produkowana w analizowanym regionie. Drugi kierunek rozwoju regionu wiązać się może z sytuacją, w której sprzedaż dóbr publicznych, takich jak naturalny krajobraz czy bioróżnorodność, zaczną przynosić przychody większe niż sprzedaż produktów rolnych. Taka sytuacja może wystąpić w niedługim czasie w Polsce Wschodniej.
Abstract	The EU Common Agricultural Policy creates great opportunities for the areas of Eastern Poland, mainly by means of promoting a change of its orientation towards the development of its multifunctionality. These processes must be accompanied by an increase of GDP stimulating an increase in consumption, because a wealthy society is always seeking safe, differentiated food and such food is produced by agriculture in the analyzed region. Such phenomenon may contribute to the development of small farms. Another trend of strategic development of agriculture in the region may rely on the prospects for situation in which the revenues from sales of public goods in form of a natural landscape and biodiversity values become comparable or exceed the revenues from sales of agricultural products. Such state of things in the region of Eastern Poland is possible in a short period of time.

Abstract	The paper presents changes in the structure of populations economic activity following a division into urban and rural population. The period of investigation covers years 1993-2009. The research deals with synthetic measures of the intensity of structure transformation as well as with average changes in this structure, which were described by single base and chain indices. The changes in the economic activity of population were not significant over time, slightly bigger in case of investigated rural population.

Abstract	The paper aims to analyze the changes in balancing of financial liquidity that took place in the European Union’s agricultural farms in the years 1989–2005. The comparative analysis was executed for chosen types of farms, namely: field crops (TF13), diary farms (TF41) and granivores livestock (TF50) based on current ratio. There were analyzed data collected by the EU Farm Accountancy Data Network. The results show that in analyzed period the average value of current ratio for chosen types of farms was at the level 2.5–4.5 comparing to 3.75–4.75 for all farms. Comparing only the chosen types of farms in 2005 the average values of their current ratio was very similar: 3.72–3.99, which is higher than recommended optimal value 1.5–2.0. However the current ratio values differs signify cantly among countries and were changing with no correlation. This did not allow to determine a trend for different types of farms in whole European Union. Regardless the type of farming low values of current ratio are observed in Denmark and Great Britain, the average values in Germany and France and the high values in Belgium, Italy, Portugal and Finland. The differences in current ratio between EU countries seams to be more significant than the differences between analyzed types of farming

Abstract	In presented paper changes in the sugar production and in the nursery of the sugar beet in the EU brought about were described with implementing the reform of the market of the sugar. An too small interest in limiting the sugar production in 2007 caused the yr the European Commission modified principles of the reform and a possibility of the resignation led farmers from the right into the cultivation of the sugar beet in exchange for high bonuses in the framework of the so-called farmer’s initiative. At the same time they enabled sugar factories to assume this initiative under the condition of limiting the sugar production, in case of Poland, by the 13.5%. All sugar concerns took advantage of this possibility. However it turned out, that considerable part of farmers, on account of the low profitability of the cultivation of the sugar beet, doesn’t want to plant this plant. In April 2008 yr, sugar concerns had a problem with contracting the essential amount of the raw material. Therefore they persuaded farmers which relinquished their right to the cultivation to produce the raw material in frames of the limit of the sugar factory. However such a situation can cause, that Poland will become the net importer of the sugar, or else the domestic production in 2008 will be shorter than the demand

Abstract	The paper presents changes in structure and area of sown of main agricultural products, including: cereals, industrial and fodder plants in the years 1996–2007. The author states, that cereals predominated in the structure of sown area and that decreasing tendency of sown area of potatoes occurred, what is the result of animal output intensification, mainly pigs. The decrease of sugar beets sown area was also observed, chiefly as a result of limited demand for sugar in recent years. The increase of sown area of industrial plants occurred, in particular rape and agrimony. The reason of that tendency is an increase of using rape and agrimony for technical purposes, mainly for biofuel production.

Abstract	The aim of the paper is to analyse the employment changes in Poland and the European Union in the 2000–2007 period. The main source of performed research was the Eurostat database. In examined time the employment rate increased in the whole European Union. Also the employment rate in Poland raised up (to 57% level) at the end of the year 2007, however it was lower by about 8,4 percentage points than employment average for the European Union. The employment rate of woman in Poland increased from 48,9% to 50,6% between of 2000 and 2007. Furthermore, the employment rate for older people in 55–64 age amounted to 28,4% in 2000, but in 2007 also rose to 29,7% level. Besides improving the situation on labour market, Poland will have serious difficulties in achievement the Lisbon and Stockholm Strategy target

Abstract	The aim of this article is to analyse changes in the level and structure of households’ financial assets in Poland. The discourse involves selected economical factors, which condition the method of household investments. Crucial determinants influencing the increase of financial assets worth include the establishment of Open Pension Funds as new entities on the financial market. In addition the growth of Investment Funds sector influenced the increased activity of households in investments. Those changes facilitated households with an easier access to financial tools. Changes which took place in the structure and level of Polish people’s savings were, among other factors, the effect of the general growth of Polish economy. Major role in the development of financial assets’ structure was played by non-economical factors: demographic and psychological. The latter factors exhibit high level of influence during dynamic fluctuations (both increase and decrease) of market index value. Such a situation occurred during the discussed period of time

Abstrakt	Celem podjętych badań była analiza wpływu zmiany przeznaczenia gruntu w miejscowym planie zagospodarowania przestrzennego na jego wartość. Badania przeprowadzono na terenie gminy Piaseczno. Zakres czasowy badań obejmował lata 2003–2007. Wyniki badań wskazały na wzrost wartości nieruchomości gruntowych z tytułu zmian planistycznych w badanym okresie średnio o 36%.
Abstract	The article includes an attempt at analysis of the influence of the local spatial management plan on the real estate value in the Piaseczno commune in years between 2003 and 2007. The research results have indicated an appreciation by about 36% of land value by title of change in the local land development plans in the investigated period.

Abstrakt	Celem niniejszego opracowania było przedstawienie zmian bezrobocia wiejskiego po integracji Polski z Unią Europejską. Analizę przeprowadzono w oparciu o dane pochodzące z Badań Aktywności Ekonomicznej Ludności Polski realizowanych przez GUS w II kwartale 2004 i IV kwartale 2007 roku. Przedstawione wyniki badań wskazują na korzystne zmiany zachodzące w obszarze bezrobocia wiejskiego wynikające z dostępu Polski do funduszy unijnych, a także z otwarcia rynków pracy przez niektóre kraje dawnej „piętnastki”. Zmiany te dotyczą między innymi obniżenia wskaźników charakteryzujących bezrobocie oraz ograniczenia skali bezrobocia długookresowego. Nadal jednak poważnym problemem pozostaje bezrobocie dotyczące bezrolnych mieszkańców obszarów wiejskich
Abstract	The purpose of the present study was to show the changes of rural unemployment after the integration of Poland with the European Union. The analysis was carried out on data coming from the Research of Economic Activity of Polish Residents made by GUS in the second quarter of 2004 and in the fourth quarter of 2007. The results of the investigations indicate advantageous changes occurring in the field of rural unemployment, resulting from the availability of the EU funds and also from opening labour markets by some countries of the former EU-15. The changes include inter alia a reduction of the rate of unemployment and a decrease in the scale of long-term unemployment. Still, the unemployment of landless dwellers of rural areas remains a serious problem.

Wpływ na rozwój wymiany handlowej miała również rosnąca konkurencyjność polskich produktów rolno-żywnościowych na rynku światowym
Abstract	The aim of the work was to investigate how the Polish integration with the EU structures effected on the development of foreign trade, in particular in agricultural products. According to the analysis, Poland’s participation in trade agreements triggered agricultural trade creation and diversion effects. Moreover, the development of trade was caused also by the growing competitiveness of Polish agricultural products in the world market.

Abstrakt	W artykule przedstawiono charakterystykę oraz zmiany wybranych elementów sytuacji społeczno-gospodarczej Polski w latach 2000-2007. Wskazano również na występowanie dużego zróżnicowania regionalnego tejże sytuacji, na poziomie województw, sygnalizując jednocześnie powody owego zróżnicowania. Wskazano też regionalną różnorodność zachodzących zmian w tym względzie oraz potrzebę wsparcia regionów najsłabszych.
Abstract	The article presents a characterization of changes in the social and economic situation in Poland in years 2000-2007 from selected aspects. Regional differentiation of Poland as well as factors affecting the regional diversification of Poland are pointed at. Regional nature of changes and necessity of supporting the poorest regions are indicated.

Stwierdzono współzależność pomiędzy rozmiarami działalności rolniczej, a realizowaną opłatą pracy własnej i poziomem zwrotu z zainwestowanego kapitału. Wskazano na potencjalne skutki zmiany polityki rolnej dla wyodrębnionych zbiorowości.
Abstract	The paper discusses the financial situation of two groups of farms . commercial farms and large commercial farms . which differ greatly in terms of their economic size and legal form. On this ground and on the grounds of the volume of projects implemented, an assessment was carried out trying to decide which of the two groups is stable enough for permanent existence and which is in its final stage of operation. A correlation was observed between the volume of agricultural operations and the implemented remuneration for own work and the level of profitability of invested capital. Potential effects of the change in agricultural policies for selected populations were identified.

Abstrakt	Zaprezentowano rozważania dotyczące grupy największych gospodarstw rolnych o powierzchni 100 i więcej ha użytków rolnych. Autorzy udowadniają, że należy uznać te gospodarstwa za wysokotowarowe przedsiębiorstwa rolne, ściśle powiązane z przetwórstwem rolno-spożywczym, podlegające identycznym regułom zarządzania jak przedsiębiorstwa z innych sektorów gospodarki. Zwrócono również uwagę na nowe elementy w zarządzaniu, dotyczące przedsiębiorstw rolnych. Przeanalizowano ponadto spodziewane kierunki badań w naukach o zarządzaniu oraz możliwe scenariusze i kierunki rozwoju gospodarstw wielkoobszarowych w przyszłości.
Abstract	The paper presents the considerations concerning group of biggest farms about surface 100 and more ha of utilized agricultural area. The authors argue that these farms should be treated as high productive market enterprises, which are strictly coherent with processing industry and under the same rules as enterprises from other sectors of economy. The paper pays the attention on new elements in management of rural enterprises. Besides, the study is presenting new directions of research in management sciences, possible scenarios and directions of big farms development in the future.

W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań nad stylami kierowania w przedsiębiorstwach rolniczych w województwie kujawsko-pomorskim. Określono potencjał produkcyjny, zmiany w kierunkach i intensywności produkcji oraz sytuacji finansowej. Na tej podstawie stwierdzono jaki jest stan i perspektywy kształtowania stylów kierowania w przedsiębiorstwach rolniczych.
Abstract	The paper aims to define the types of management in agricultural enterprises. There are two main opposite types of management and several mixed types in between. The democratic style is believed to be more modern then the autocratic one. The analysis considered potential of production, organization and financial and economical results. The paper argues that the autocratic type of management dominate in analyzed agricultural enterprises. This style is adjusted to the youth stages of cycle of life of organization. The conclusion is that the agricultural enterprises are in youth stages of cycle of life and this is why the types of management can not be change into more democratic one.

Abstrakt	Omówiono zmiany intensywności produkcji w wielkoobszarowych przedsiębiorstwach rolniczych w latach 1998-2005. Badania przeprowadzono na grupie przedsiębiorstw, które nieprzerwanie w tym okresie brały udział w .Rankingu 300 najlepszych przedsiębiorstw rolniczych.. W wyniku przeprowadzonej analizy stwierdzono, że przedsiębiorstwa rolnicze systematycznie zwiększały intensywność produkcji pomimo niekorzystnych relacji w zakresie zmian cen produktów i środków do produkcji. Wzrostowi intensywności towarzyszył wzrost produktywności, co w konsekwencji pozwoliło na uzyskanie lepszych wyników w zakresie rentowności prowadzonej działalności.
Abstract	The paper aims to present the changes of production intensity in large scale agricultural farms during the period 1998-2005. The research was conducted base on the enterprises participating during the whole period in the .Ranking of 300 the best agricultural enterprises.. It was observed that in the analyzed period agricultural enterprises, despite of the unfavorable changes in relation of the input and output prices, systematically enlarged their production intensity. Systematic growth of production intensity was accompanied by the productivity increase, which in consequence led to obtaining better results in profitability level.
