Abstract	Measurements of descriptive statistics were used to examine changes in fixed assets and their sets of groups in agriculture in the period 2004–2008. Studies confirmed an increased rate of renewal of fixed assets, especially mobile sets of groups of these assets in agriculture after entering the UE. Technical progress expressed as an increase of the share of the gross value of the set of group of machines, technical devices and tools and the set of group of means of transport in the total gross value of fixed assets increased only by 2 per cent. Moreover, one could notice changes in the directions of reproduction of particular sets of groups of fixed assets.

Abstract	The paper deals methods of solid biomass estimation for energy purposes. Several ways of estimations are available at present what causes discrepancy in the figures. In the article useful methods were described for local government units, and enterprises interested in using biomass for energy purposes. Estimation methods of wood, straw and energy crops were presented. Estimating of resources of renewable sources, especially biomass, could became a significant practical problem, which can be meet by local government representatives, entrepreneurs interested in renewable sources technology development. Methods of estimating have complex and diverse character what could be seen like an obstacle in define raw material sources in farms for instance. Farms have many specific characteristics within technical and logistic organization, are placed in specific localizations sometimes very hard to cultivate because of agro technical factors. Those conditions dot not exclude the possibility of biomass estimating in the scale of province, poviat, commune or even in single farm. The present estimating methods need to be adopted by preparing common measuring standards which allows to prepare reliable calculations of biomass for fuel and energy sector. Methods of estimating are improving during process of research and current updating.

Abstract	An assessment of creditworthy of poultry trade company was carried out according to methodology used in cooperative bank in which analyzed company was taken loan. Data are connected with a loan period i.e. 2006–2022. The purpose of creditworthy assessment is risk estimation which take the bank providing the loan. Creditworthy may be evaluated on the basic or full range. An assessment of creditworthy is procedural action compatible with bank instructions. Firstly the chosen indices are analyzed and then they are compared with indices for particular trade or previous years. Indices of profitability, efficiency, indebtedness and debt service were calculated. Situation of considerable farm according to bank was satisfactory so decision about the loan was positive.

Abstract	The aim of the paper is to show that advanced technical analysis tools which are based on the Fibonacci ratios can be used to identify the trend’s direction on the wheat futures market. The research methods are based on the identification of the support and resistance levels using the selected tools for technical analysis. The data used in study cover the period form October 2008 to October 2010. The analysis has been carried out in the technical analysis software – XTB trader. The paper discusses the selected technical analysis tools and presents their application in price forecasting on the wheat futures market. The implementation of Fibonacci retracements, Fibonacci projections and Fibonacci fan has been shown. The research has revealed that forecasts formulated using the tools of technical analysis are accurate and reliable. It amounts that the technical analysis is effective in price predictions on the wheat futures market or there is sufficiently large number of market’s participants who use technical analysis and by applying the same tools and methods they push the price in the same predicted directions. This is so called self-fulfilling prophecy.

Abstract	This article presents the basic concepts of creativity-based economy (GOT) by R. Florida and its method of measurement. The economy of creativity was shown in the context of a knowledge economy (GOW) showing their common and different issues. Measurement of GOT were related to three areas, namely talent, technology and tolerance. Place of Poland in the ranking of European countries, America and Asia in terms of ratio GOT and GOW was also presented. By showing the measurement procedure GOT one has also referred to the research of the conditions and quality of life of the Poles, in which, inter alia, the level of human capital, professed values or tolerance of the population were determined.

A ratio analysis was used for the evaluation of the budget economy of communes. The communes were assessed according to the following criteria: independent profits, self-financing of expenditures, capacity to make loans and borrow as well as value of operating surplus and value of financial result. As a result of the survey a persistence of significant diversities of the financial situation of communes was stated in the regional diameter and its deterioration in the years 2008 and 2009.

Abstract	The aim of the paper was to estimate the support for investment process. The support started in 2002, in the frame of SAPARD actions, and then it has been continued in the frame of the two pillars of Common Rural Policy during 2004–2006 as two independent actions of a similar character. Nowadays the measure of modernisation of agricultural holdings has been very well valued by the beneficiaries (2007–2013). During the first call for proposals the beneficiaries handed in 18.3 thousands applications, the applied support was 2371.5 million PLN. In 2008 applications haven’t been collected. In 2009 there were many more submitted applications, 24.8 thousands of applications were accepted and the granted support reached the level of 3798.2 million PLN.

Abstract	The paper aims to present the meaning of direct payments in agricultural farms in Mazovia region. Empirical studies have been carried out in the group of 65 farmers. Most respondents (37%) shown vocational education, mostly agricultural. About 87% of respondents with vocational education led to the farms of 20 ha. In turn, higher education predominated among those with higher household spectrum. Producers of the area of 5 hectares, said that their financial situation after the EU integration has not changed. A different situation has been observed among larger farms, with an area exceeding 20 hectares. The way of use of direct payments was dependent on the surface of the farm. Owners of small farms spent more of payments on current consumption, while the larger the households’ size (> 10 ha) the more often they have used it for the current assets or fund investments.

Abstract	This paper presents changes in the structure of economic activity of the population with disabilities in the years 1996–2010. Moreover, determinants of activity of this population group: the degree of disability, age, level of education have been characterized. It was found, that the low activity of people with disabilities is mainly caused by unfavorable age structure of this population and the relatively low level of education. To evaluate the intensity of changes in the structure of the analyzed phenomenon appropriate synthetic measures of the structure intensity changes have been used, which was described by one-basic and continued fraction perspective. In the research period a slight change was ascertained in the pattern of economic activity of disabled population in dynamic approach.

Abstract	Foreign trade pays an important role in the development of both world and Polish economy. In the years 2002–2008 Poland reported negative balance of foreign trade of all kinds of products, while since 2003 the balance of trade with agricultural products was positive. In the structure of Polish export of agricultural products in the year 2008, fruits and vegetables paid a dominant role (ca. 20% of total export). In the years 2002–2008 the European Union was the net importer of all kinds of vegetables and vegetable products. Since the year 2004 when 10 New Member States accessed to the UE, the enlarged Community was the net importer of fresh tomatos, onions, peppers, courgettes, legumes and sweet corn. As the processed vegetables are concerned the EU net imported frozen vegetables, canned and dry tomatos. The positive trade balance was reported for canned vegetables and tomato puree. As the trade between Poland and other Member States is concerned, Poland reports positive balance of both fresh and processed vegetables. In the years 2002–2008 in Poland dominated positive and growing foreign trade balance with fresh vegetables and their products. It was possible thanks to positive foreign trade balance of processed vegetables, because the balance of trade with fresh vegetables was negative. Main exporting countries of Polish vegetables and their products were Holland, Germany and United Kingdom. Poland imported such products mostly from the UE, especially from Spain and Holland.

Analizie poddano przeciętne gospodarstwo rolne w 122 regionach, badając nakłady ziemi, pracy, wielkość i strukturę produkcji, koszty, strumienie dopłat i w końcu jego sytuację dochodową. Celem badania było porównanie alokacji i efektywności wspomnianych czynników produkcji w rolnictwie regionów UE. Autorka stawia pytanie, na ile regiony europejskie różnią się względem wykorzystania tychże czynników oraz czy można znaleźć podobieństwa przestrzenne. Doszukuje się także przyczyn owego zróżnicowania uwzględniając różnorakie czynniki
Abstract	The purpose of the article was comparing diverse resources of production factors in farming and displaying relations between them, as well as the effectiveness of their exploitation in agricultural regions of the European Union (EU-25). An average arable farm was analyzed in 122 regions, inspecting the inputs of land and labour, the size and structure of production, costs, subsidies flows, and in the end the income situation. The allocation and effectiveness of production factors in agricultural EU regions were compared. The author is putting up questions, to what extent the European regions differ with respect to the use of these factors as well as whether it is possible to find among them some spatial resemblances. She found also causes of their diversity taking different factors into account.

Abstrakt	Celem pracy jest przedstawienie zmian napływu bezpośrednich inwestycji zagranicznych (BIZ) do Polski na tle napływu do krajów Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej w latach 2005-2008 oraz napływu BIZ do polskiego sektora rolno-żywościowego w latach 1996-2008 w kontekście procesu integracji europejskiej. Proces integracji europejskiej jest ważnym czynnikiem decydującym o napływie BIZ do Polski, ale jest on również uzależniony od tendencji ogólnoświatowych. Najwięcej kapitału zagranicznego do sektora produkcji artykułów spożywczych, napojów i wyrobów tytoniowych napłynęło w latach: 1996 i 1998. W przypadku rolnictwa i rybołówstwa największy napływ BIZ odnotowano w 2008 r. (100 mln euro) oraz w 2004 r. (85,5 mln euro). Udział napływu do rolnictwa, rybołówstwa oraz produkcji artykułów spożywczych w ogólnej wartości napływającego kapitału jest niewielki. Napływ kapitału zagranicznego do rolnictwa i przetwórstwa spożywczego miał tendencję wzrostową już przed akcesją (odwrotnie niż napływ kapitału ogółem). W roku akcesji odnotowano wzrost wartości zainwestowanego kapitału zagranicznego ogółem oraz w analizowanych sektorach.
Abstract	The aim of the paper is to present changes in the foreign direct investments (FDI) inflow to Poland in comparison with that to the other countries of Middle and East Europe and the FDI inflow to the Polish agri-food sector in 1996-2008 in the context of European integration. The European integration is a significant factor for the FDI inflow to Poland, but it also depends on the world tendencies. The biggest foreign direct investment inflow to the food sector took place in 1996 and 1998. The highest value of foreign capital inflow to agriculture and fishing occured in 2008 (100 mio euro) and in 2004 (85,5 mio euro). The share of agriculture, fishing and food sector in the foreign capital inflow is low. The foreign capital inflow to agriculture and food sector had a growing trend already before the Polish accession (opposite to the total capital inflow). In the accession year there was an increase of foreign investments in total and in the analyzed sectors.

Abstrakt	Badaniami objęto 41 spółdzielni mleczarskich w okresie czterech lat (2002-2005). Celem pracy jest określenie wpływu zatrudnienia na rentowność i bezpieczeństwo finansowe spółdzielni mleczarskich. Badania wykazały, że zatrudnienie miało pozytywny wpływ głównie na poziomy rentowności sprzedaży, majątku, kapitału własnego i zatrudnienia.
Abstract	A survey concerned 41 dairy cooperatives in four years (2002-2005). This paper identifies and examines an impact of employment on profitability and financial safety of dairy cooperatives. The survey showed that employment positively influenced mainly the levels of return on sales, assets, own capital and employment.

Abstrakt	W artykule przedstawiono wybrane zagadnienia prawne poświęcone własności przemysłowej, w zakresie istotnym dla sektora rolno-spożywczego. Do szczególnie ważnych instytucji zaliczyć należy patent na wynalazek, prawo z rejestracji wzoru przemysłowego oraz prawo ochronne znaku towarowego. W podsumowaniu stwierdzono, że z jednej strony zauważyć można pozytywny wpływ „good governance”, ujmowanego jako efektywne zarządzanie, na rozwój własności przemysłowej w branży rolno-spożywczej. Chodzi przede wszystkim o podejmowane przez organy administracji działania na rzecz rozpowszechniania wiedzy o własności intelektualnej, w tym szczególne przeznaczanie środków na finansowanie procedury udzielania ochrony oraz szkolenia, publikacje. Z drugiej strony zauważyć można stymulujące oddziaływanie własności przemysłowej na zarządzanie administracją publiczną, tworzenie warunków dla rozwoju gospodarczego oraz demokratyzacji
Abstract	The aim of this article is to present selected legal issues connected with industrial property with relation to the agri-food sector, in particular patents, trademark, protected geographical indication, protected designation of origin and others.
