Przedmiotem badań była ocena trudności, kosztochłonności, czasochłonności wykonania oraz zasadności poszczególnych elementów formularza wniosku dla działań o charakterze inwestycyjnym w ramach programu SAPARD i SPO Rolny.Z przeprowadzonych badań wynika, że rolnicy nie mieli trudności z wypełnieniem tej części wniosku, do przygotowania której potrzebna była dokumentacja gospodarstwa rolnego. Trudne i czasochłonne było dla rolników sporządzenie kalkulacji związanych z inwestycją. Mimo to, rolnicy uznali te wyliczenia jako zasadne we wniosku wiedząc, że jest to podstawowy element oceny wniosku i późniejszego rozliczenia inwestycji
Abstract	The main aim of the article was to indicate the difficulties and barriers in applying for agricultural structural funds. In the conducted survey, farmers were asked to assess the difficulties, costs, time-consuming and how essential are the components of the application form. For farmers the easiest was to fill out the parts of the application form based on the data collected in the farm (farm income, value of sold production). The results showed that calculation of the investment was difficult and time-consuming. Nevertheless, farmers judge it necessary element in the application form, understanding the criteria of assessment and further account for investment.

Abstract	In Poland, in the sequence of recent years, changes in financing SME activity took place. Entrepreneurs are diverging from internal source of finances more and more by devoting to others forms of raising possessed capital. It is caused by increasing competition which is forcing companies to taking higher risk. A competent choice of the financing source is a substantial problem. It should have a beneficial influence on the profitability in the enterprise, as well as keeping the financial risk at reasonable level. The main direct benefit was a possibility of using structural funds after the accession of Poland into the EU, especially for the SME business sector. The implementation of programs which are co-financed by the EU funds is bringing visible effects more and more.

Abstract	The elaboration presents chosen results of conducted research in cooperative dairy in the 2000–2005 in aspect of possessed equity and shareholders funds on financial results ground. It could be ascertained that together with increasing value of equity and shareholders fund noticed higher level of average price of milk, being paid to farmers. It evidenced the increased progression of improvements in cooperatives profitability. The strongest influence of these ratios was noticed in dairies which had had the highest equity and shareholders funds. Furthermore in these group noted also weaker relation between these funds and financial liquidity, whereas this financial indicator recorded stability and favourable level comparing to remain groups. The cooperative dairies which noticed higher profits and equity capital, decided to enlarge shareholders funds. It had resulted in secure of further development conducted activity. The applications of net profit in cooperatives was useful in effectiveness’ of financial situation assessment

Abstrakt	Badaniem objęto 30 małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw sektora agrobiznesu, zlokalizowanych na obszarze województwa małopolskiego, regionu krakowskiego (miasto i gmina Kraków). Zatrudniają one do 25 osób. Większość pracowników zatrudnionych jest bezpośrednio w produkcji. Tylko 13% ankietowanych korzystało z dofinansowania w ramach Funduszy Strukturalnych. Główną barierą w pozyskaniu środków finansowych przez badane przedsiębiorstwa jest brak informacji oraz problemy przy sporządzaniu wniosków aplikacyjnych. Ankietowani przedsiębiorcy są mało aktywni i boją się ryzyka. Głównym źródłem czerpania informacji przez przedsiębiorców na temat Unii Europejskiej jest Internet oraz znajomi. Istotną barierą jest również sceptycyzm w odniesieniu do swoich szans i możliwości uzyskania dofinansowania.
Abstract	The study included 30 small and medium-sized firms in the agri-business sector, located in the Małopolska Province, the region of Cracow (Kraków city and municipality). These companies usually employ no more than 25 people. Most of employees work directly in production. Only 13% of respondents take advantage of support from the EU Structural Fund. The main barrier to obtaining a financial support by the enterprises is a lack of information and problems in preparing formal applications. Small entrepreneurs are not active and usually afraid of risk. The main source of information for entrepreneurs about the European Union is the Internet and friends. An important barrier is also a skepticism about their chances and possibilities of obtaining funding.

Badania wykazały, że kredyt bankowy pozostaje wciąż ważnym źródłem finansowania gospodarstw rolnych. Zainteresowanie rolników kredytami jest coraz częściej powiązane z absorpcją funduszy UE wspierających inwestycje i rozwój gospodarstw rolnych.
Abstract	Importance of bank credits in the structure of external sources of financing agriculture, in conditions of Polish membership in the European Union is analysed. The findings show that bank credits are continually the most important source of financing in agricultural farms. Farmers’ interest in bank credits is more often related to the absorption of European Union funds supporting investments and development of farms.

Abstrakt	W pracy przedstawiono wykorzystanie środków pomocowych z UE przez producentów drobiu w Małopolsce na tle innych kierunków produkcji rolniczej. Skorzystano z danych Małopolskiego Oddziału Regionalnego ARiMR, dotyczących informacji o projektach i zrealizowanych inwestycjach w gospodarstwach małopolskich, finansowanych ze środków unijnych. W Małopolsce pozyskano środki do finansowania inwestycji w produkcji drobiarskiej (w liczbie 10 zrealizowanych umów) na kwotę 1 618,79 tys. zł, co stanowi niecałe 2% łącznej wartości zrealizowanych projektów inwestycyjnych w małopolskich gospodarstwach rolnych. W zakresie ułatwienia startu młodym rolnikom tylko 1 (50 tys. zł) na 531 realizowanych wniosków dotyczył produkcji drobiarskiej. Jego wartość stanowiła 0,2% ogólnej kwoty (26,55 mln zł) przyznanej młodym rolnikom w Małopolsce.
Abstract	This work presents the intake of financial support from the EU by poultry producers in Małopolska region against a background of other production directions in agriculture. Data about projects financed by the EU in farms in Małopolska were taken from the Agency of Agriculture Restructuring and Modernization. Farmers in Małopolska received support for investment in poultry production (in number of 10 projects) worth 1 618.79 thousand PLN, which accounts for less than 2% of the total value of realized investment projects in agricultural farms. In the area of facilitating the start for young farmers only 1 project (worth 50 thousand PLN) out of 531 realized projects was connected with poultry production. This accounts for 0.2% of the total amount (26 550 thousand PLN) awarded to young farmers in Małopolska.

Wyniki przedstawiono w formie średniej wartości znormalizowanej, a różnicę między nimi określono jako wskaźnik oddziaływania absorpcji funduszy UE na poziom rolnictwa. Przeprowadzona analiza wykazała, że pozytywne oddziaływanie środków UE na rolnictwo (poziom aktywności rolników był wyższy od poziomu rozwoju rolnictwa) szczególnie wyraźnie zaznacza się w województwach kujawskopomorskim, lubelskim, pomorskim i świętokrzyskim
Abstract	The article deals with a spatial analysis of the general condition of Polish agriculture and the level of farmers’ activity in obtaining subsidies from the EU funds. The results have been presented in the form of an average standardized value while the difference between them has been interpreted as an indicator of influence of the EU funds on the level of agricultural development. The analysis indicates that a positive influence of the EU funds on agriculture (farmers’ activity level exceeded the agricultural development level) was most conspicuous in the following voivodeships: Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Lublin, Pomeranian and Świętokrzyskie.

Abstrakt	Procesy dostosowawcze przemysłu spożywczego do gospodarki rynkowej dobrze przygotowały ten sektor do funkcjonowania na wspólnym rynku europejskim. Po wejściu Polski do UE nastąpiło przyspieszenie rozwoju produkcji i sprzedaży wyrobów przemysłu spożywczego. Był to efekt wzrostu dochodów ludności i rozwoju krajowego rynku żywności oraz bardzo wysokiego tempa wzrostu eksportu produktów rolno-spożywczych. Duża była aktywność inwestycyjna producentów żywności, do czego przyczyniło się wsparcie funduszami UE. Nastąpiła radykalna poprawa wyników i stanu finansowego przedsiębiorstw tego sektora. Nie spełniły się obawy o masowej upadłości firm krajowych i zagrożeniu importem żywności z rozwiniętych krajów UE.
Abstract	Due to adjustment processes to the market economy Polish food industry was very well prepared to operate at the Single European Market. After the accession to the EU the production of food products as well as their sale have accelerated. It resulted from a rise in personal incomes, development of domestic food market and from high growth rate of agri-food exports. Polish food producers showed intensive investment activities, which reflected the support out of the EU funds. Finally there was a distinct improvement financial results and economic performance of the sector. The previous threats concerning mass bankruptcies of the domestic companies and a peaking up agri-food imports from the EU turned false.

Abstrakt	Integracja europejska - wraz z wprowadzeniem narzędzi Wspólnej Polityki Rolnej (WPR) – była głównym czynnikiem stymulującym proces restrukturyzacji sektora mleczarskiego w ostatniej dekadzie. Przemiany, jakie wystąpiły po 1995 roku na poziomie gospodarstw rolnych dotyczyły nie tylko wielkości produkcji, ale również znaczenia poszczególnych kanałów sprzedaży. Celem opracowania jest analiza czynników wpływających na wybór nowoczesnego kanału sprzedaży przez producentów oraz skutków, jakie niesie on ze sobą dla sytuacji finansowej gospodarstw. Przeprowadzone badania pozwalają stwierdzić, że zmiana kanału sprzedaży z dostaw do punktu skupu na odbiór bezpośredni przez mleczarnię wpływa korzystnie na sytuację finansową gospodarstw. Wybór nowoczesnego kanału dostaw wydaje się być uwarunkowany bardziej przez czynniki zewnętrzne niż wewnętrzne gospodarstwa. To nie kapitał ludzki ani posiadane zasoby czynników produkcji, a dostęp do kapitału zewnętrznego pozwala na konieczne dostosowania. Specyfika sektora mleczarskiego w Polsce daje lepsze szanse na rozwój mniejszych podmiotów produkcyjnych niż w krajach o bardziej skoncentrowanej produkcji, w których takie gospodarstwa nie miałyby szans na przetrwanie.
Abstract	The EU accession and integration process - including CAP implementation - has been the most important driving force behind dairy sector restructuring in Poland in the last decade. Simultaneously to changes taking place in production sphere new trends have been observable with respect to milk usage and marketing channel choices made by farmers. The main purpose of the article was analysis concerning determinants of market channel choices of dairy farmers and impacts of these choices on the farms’ financial situation. It was found that changing the marketing channel from deliveries to the collection point (traditional channel) for direct milk collection at the farm (modern channel) positively affects farms’ financial situation. Entering the modern marketing channel seems to be conditioned by the exogenous rather than endogenous factors. Neither human capital nor households’ initial physical assets are the decisive factors. It is rather access to funds that would allow for undertaking necessary adjustments. Given that farms’ financial capital endowments are limited, the marketing channel choice is crucially dependent on having access to external funds.

Abstract	The paper is devoted to the application one of the Common Agricultural Policy instruments – the direct subsidies. The considerations were based on the available data of Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture, other authors’ and own empirical studies conducted in Warmia and Mazury voivodeship among 4095 users of agricultural farms. According to the declarations of farmers covered the majority of them use the funds obtained from direct subsidies for purchase of the means of production (64,66% in 2004, 68,30% in 2005) and current expenditures (51,72% in 2004, 55,97% in 2005). The positive fact is that an increasing number of individuals invest in development of farms (24,08% in 2004, 26,01% in 2005) and allocate awarded funds to purchase of land (4,93% in 2004, 7,40% in 2005), which is an important symptom of development oriented behavior of farmers. It indicates the intentions of continued farming supported in numerous cases by financial potential and adequate education.

Abstract	The paper presents research results of the local authority’s opinions about the Private-Public Partnership in the rural areas of the West-Pomeranian voivodeship. The greatest benefits of cooperation were tested by the supplement of public funds in relation to private equity increase investment opportunities and increased absorption of EU funds. As a main reason in preventing the implementation of the PPP formula proved: a mental barriers – lack of skilled personnel in the local rural communities, low awareness – insufficient knowledge of the partnership of two different entities and the lack of information flow about the possibility of establishing cooperation

Abstract	The article analyses Japanese economic conditions and their consequences for financing real investment in the sector of non-financial corporations in the nineties of the 20th century. In order to identify sources of financing real investment, national accounts was used. Data to be taken into consideration while assessing real investment made by Japanese companies was obtained from two accounts: a capital and financial accounts. It is found out that the nineties witnessed considerable changes in financing real investment in the sector of Japanese nonfinancial corporations, which stems from two overlapping mechanisms: companies’ preference to finance real investment by means of internal funds and lower willingness of financial institutions to lend money.

Abstract	A level of innovations in economy has determined a growth of venture capital market. In well developed countries venture capital market plays a significant role in funding innovative projects, but in Poland, so far, a share of venture capital investors is still rather slight. After access of Poland to European Union, directed into increase of innovations in economy of member states, venture capital market has been accelerated, both in informal (business angels) and formal (venture capital funds) markets. There are some interactions between these groups of venture capital investors, like as cooperation, co-financing, and mainly keeping certain turn of funding – in early stages of project development– business angels, and further – venture capital funds. It should be underlined, that in Poland venture capital market has been developing in quite different way, not very similar to scheme worked out in other countries. It can be a result of relatively low level of venture capital market development and structural changes of overall environment

Abstract	Financial liquidity is one of the most important factors for the company growth and everyday operations. Since the mid of XX century there have been some attempts to find a right level of cash to be held by a company. Similar research was involved in deciding what to do when there is a surplus of cash that is going to be kept by the company for future purposes. The bank location could be good solution, but investment fund as the place for placing cash for a period of time is probably better. The rules of investment funds in Poland prevent an investor from any risk of fraud. Simultaneously there are some investment risks according to the profile of the given fund. From this point of view majority of investment funds are not suitable to serve as the place of investment for companies. The good solution is a money market fund due to the fact that only very low risk, or almost no risk, papers are in the portfolio of such funds. Obviously never very high yields are anticipated but still they are higher than deposits and far more flexible. The money market fund is particularly suitable for an investment when money can be shifted to a more aggressive fund at the steady growth market conditions. The mechanism of conversion between the funds allows it but in normal circumstances the profits are taxed straight after the operation. In order to avoid it the companies that run legal investment funds in Poland (TFI) introduced so called “umbrella funds” where the money market fund is one of the subfunds and money could be easily moved to another fund without immediate taxation. Therefore the money market fund within the umbrella fund could be the good place to keep company cash surplus.

Abstrakt	W opracowaniu przedstawiono sytuację w hodowli roślin ogrodniczych w spółkach ANR w latach 1996-2006. Spółki hodowli roślin ogrodniczych odgrywają istotną rolę, ponieważ ich własnością w 2006 roku było 74% odmian krajowych znajdujących się w Centralnym Rejestrze Odmian Roślin Warzywnych COBORU. W analizowanych latach nastąpił wzrost rejestracji odmian, pomimo zmniejszenia się liczby gatunków w badaniach oraz liczby przedsiębiorstw. Zwiększyła się również liczba odmian należących do spółek. Nakłady ogółem ponoszone na hodowlę roślin ogrodniczych w analizowanych latach zmniejszyły się w ujęciu nominalnym o 24%. Jednak w ujęciu realnym nakłady na hodowlę zmniejszyły się aż o 56%.
Abstract	The paper analysis horticultural breeding plants in APA.s companies. These firms are crucial in the development of biological progress. They own 74% of Polish vegetable sub-species listed in Official Subspecies Register in the 2006 year. In the research period 1996-2006, generally there was observable the increase of varieties registration, and decrease of number of species in research and number of enterprises. However there was noted increase of varieties owned by APAs companies (45%) in the Register. It is important to note that the funds spend on horticultural plant breeding decreased by 56% in the research period.
