Abstract	The aim of elaboration was an assessment of farming tax revenues of the community’s budgets. The article presents relations between discussed revenues and chosen elements of the community’s budgets (own revenues and other taxes: including property tax, agricultural tax, forest tax, and tax on means of transport). The participation of cash inflow from farming tax in communities budgets were not differentiated, depending on kind of communities. Trends in chosen ratios in all communities (villages and other) were in general similar.

Abstract	The elaboration presents the debt level in relation to possessed cropland area used in agriculture farms. The article deals also with statistical regression model in which as a dependent variable chose the level of liabilities calculated per one hectare of cropland area. The presented research was surveyed in years 2004–2007, in Mazowsze and Podlasie region. Farms have been characterized by criterion of cropland area and were divided into six groups according to classification of PL-FADN. The regression models, estimated in elaborations showed that a variable of debt calculated per hectare of cropland area influenced on the degree of financial leverage and supply turnover in each year. It presented specific factors which had an impact on farmers investments decisions. The highest number of agriculture farms, which recorded foreign capital usage in financing structure, noticed in group of farms which noticed over 40 hectares of cropland area.

Abstract	The elaboration presents chosen results of conducted research in cooperative dairy in the 2000–2005 in aspect of possessed equity and shareholders funds on financial results ground. It could be ascertained that together with increasing value of equity and shareholders fund noticed higher level of average price of milk, being paid to farmers. It evidenced the increased progression of improvements in cooperatives profitability. The strongest influence of these ratios was noticed in dairies which had had the highest equity and shareholders funds. Furthermore in these group noted also weaker relation between these funds and financial liquidity, whereas this financial indicator recorded stability and favourable level comparing to remain groups. The cooperative dairies which noticed higher profits and equity capital, decided to enlarge shareholders funds. It had resulted in secure of further development conducted activity. The applications of net profit in cooperatives was useful in effectiveness’ of financial situation assessment

Abstract	The elaboration deals with estimation of agriculture tax burden in relation to fundamental financial-economic categories in farms. The research was conduced according to Economic Size Unit criterion in farms which participated in FADN accountancy data system. The period of farm investigation covers the years 2004–2007. On the basis of conducted researches has been ascertained that relation between agriculture tax and production output recorded decreasing tendency. It means that the tax system noticed smaller importance which was reflected by the low level of agriculture tax burden index in relation to agriculture income. The group of farms which noticed low level of ESU recorded higher level of agriculture tax burden.

Abstract	The paper presents relations between agricultural tax and chosen production resources in agricultural farms. The highest relation between agricultural tax and cropland area in 2006 recorded in all voivodships. The relationship between agricultural tax and possessed equity capital was comparatively low. Therefore, it could be ascertained that agriculture tax was relatively small tax burden for farmers and did not contribute to their activity production strategy. Most of farmers were against the implementation of income tax instead agriculture tax.

Abstract	In article undertook attempt to asses the financial leverage and rate on equity (ROE) in two agriculture farms which differentiate with the level of cash and financing strategy. The elaboration deals with two types of investments: purchase of a cropland area and animals, which were supported by preferential credit from Agency of Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture (ARMA). The conducted research indicated that the level of cash did not affected the level of obtain financial leverage, whereas it was necessary to take advantage from foreign capital used in farm activity. The survey confirmed that farmers should not postpone investments because it had negative influence on the level of possible losses

Abstract	The main aim of this paper was to assess the level of human capital in rural areas of Poland and to make its cross-regional comparison. There was proposed the human resource development index or human capital index having six essential elements (education, enterpreunarship, economic activity, employment, health, and migration). In 2007, the opolskie, slaskie and malopolskie provinces were characterised by the highest levels of the human capital in rural areas.The paper provides also the investigation of the link between rural human capital and economic development in Polish regions concluding that in the slaskie, mazowieckie and wielkopolskie provinces high level of rural human capital was accompanied by high level of regional economic development as measured by GDP per capita. The results of human capital study at the individual level (questionnaire study in the sample of 120 farm owners from Mazovia and Podlasie regions, 2009) show that the education is the main determinant of farmer’s human capital improvement.

Abstract	The aim of the paper is to define the size and differentiation of agricultural tax concerning farms participating in the system of accounting data collection system FADN in years 2004–2007. The agricultural farms were classified according to the area of productive land and by type of the farming. The highest agricultural taxation was found in the smallest farms areas and in types: „ field crops” and „mixed crops”. In these groups of farms low relation of the agricultural tax to the size of support from the government was observed. This relation showed the real decrease of agricultural taxation burdens what resulted in the decrease of market accommodation processes.

Abstract	This paper aims at presenting factors contributing to agricultural income level differentiation in the EU. Statistical data provided by the European Commission and French agricultural chambers was used. The importance issue of cost structure for agricultural profitability was discussed. Certain UE member states have a high share of land lease, bank loan interest payments or farm worker remuneration in their cost structures. The significance of the definitional difference between agricultural income and the income of farmers was emphasized. Taking into account income from non-agricultural sources leads to a lower differentiation of farmer income. One of the principal determinants of income differentiation is varying farm structures across member states. Finally, the impact of the construction of the agricultural support system on income differentiation should not be neglected

Abstrakt	W artykule przedstawiono zmiany zachodzące w zasobach siły roboczej w rolnictwie w latach 1996-2007 pod wpływem przemian społeczno-gospodarczych oraz członkostwa Polski w Unii Europejskiej. Szczegółowej analizie poddano zmiany liczby pracujących w gospodarstwach rolnych w jednostkach AWU na tle zmian demograficznych i ekonomicznych (wielkości gospodarstw rolnych) oraz zmiany w strukturze płci i wieku użytkowników gospodarstwa rolnego.
Abstract	The article shows the changes in the labour force in agriculture in the years 1996-2007, against the background of changes in demography and economy (farm size), as a result of socioeconomic changes and Poland’s membership in the European Union. The fact that Poland joined the European Union has positively influenced the economic activity in agriculture and, at the same time, it has slowed down the process of transferring agricultural labour force to non-farming jobs. In 2007 a positive change in the demographic structure of farming population was recorded. Generally, between 1996 and 2007 a decline in labour force was noted, but between 2002 and 2007 a slight increase was recorded. A negative phenomenon, however, is the fact that a large portion of the labour force in individual farms remains unused. Over-intensive employment in farming may lead to both open and hidden agricultural unemployment. Structural and quantitative changes in labour force show diverse intensity in individual voivodeships. Northern Poland, where large-size farms predominate, has lower density of farming population and a larger percentage of hired labour force. Central and South-Eastern Poland, however, shows a high density of population working in farming and a high share of people in working age running family farms.

Abstrakt	Celem niniejszego opracowania jest próba ukazania wpływu cech jakościowych zasobów pracy jako czynnika różnicującego wydajność zbioru owoców truskawki. W analizie zostały uwzględnione takie czynniki jak wiek i płeć zbieraczy, suma dni pracy, wiek plantacji, data i termin zbioru (początek, pełnia i koniec zbioru). Przeciętna wydajność zbioru owoców truskawki w badanym gospodarstwie w 2008 roku wyniosła 6,47 kg na jedną godzinę pracy. Wiek i płeć pracownika miały istotny wpływ na poziom wydajności zbioru owoców truskawki.
Abstract	The purpose of this paper is an attempt of showing the role of qualitative features of labour resources as a factor which diversifies the level of strawberry harvesting productivity. Such features as age and sex of pickers, total number of picking days, age of plantation and harvest date and time were taken into consideration in the analysis. The average productivity in strawberry picking in the investigated farm in 2008 amounted to 6.47 kg per hour. The age and sex of pickers had an influence on the level of strawberry picking productivity.

Abstrakt	Artykuł dotyczy analizy przestrzennej ogólnego poziomu rolnictwa w Polsce oraz poziomu aktywności gospodarstw rolnych w zakresie pozyskiwania środków UE. Wyniki przedstawiono w formie średniej wartości znormalizowanej, a różnicę między nimi określono jako wskaźnik oddziaływania absorpcji funduszy UE na poziom rolnictwa. Przeprowadzona analiza wykazała, że pozytywne oddziaływanie środków UE na rolnictwo (poziom aktywności rolników był wyższy od poziomu rozwoju rolnictwa) szczególnie wyraźnie zaznacza się w województwach kujawskopomorskim, lubelskim, pomorskim i świętokrzyskim
Abstract	The article deals with a spatial analysis of the general condition of Polish agriculture and the level of farmers’ activity in obtaining subsidies from the EU funds. The results have been presented in the form of an average standardized value while the difference between them has been interpreted as an indicator of influence of the EU funds on the level of agricultural development. The analysis indicates that a positive influence of the EU funds on agriculture (farmers’ activity level exceeded the agricultural development level) was most conspicuous in the following voivodeships: Kuyavian-Pomeranian, Lublin, Pomeranian and Świętokrzyskie.

Przeprowadzone analizy obejmują zmiany powierzchni reprodukcyjnej cebul i bulw kwiatowych w poszczególnych krajach, zmiany struktury obszarowej gospodarstw, struktury gatunkowej upraw i jakości cebul i bulw kwiatowych. Powyższe zjawiska określono przy wykorzystaniu indeksów jednopodstawowych i wskaźników procentowych.
Abstract	This work presents the current state and changes in flower bulbs’ production in Poland and in selected EU member states, as well as prospects for its further development. The analyses concern the changes in flower bulbs’ production area in respective countries, the changes in the farms’ land use structure, in the proportions of species grown and the quality of flower bulbs. The abovementioned phenomena were displayed by using single base and percentage indices.

Abstrakt	Praca przedstawia skutki trzech lat reformy rynku cukru. W sześciu krajach zaprzestano produkcji cukru, a w wielu, w tym Polsce, znacznie ją ograniczono. Jednocześnie wyodrębniła się grupa krajów o większej produkcji niż przed reformą. Mimo że zmalały ceny detaliczne cukru, to nie spowodowało to obniżenia cen wyrobów zawierających cukier. Aby utrzymać się na rynku, zarówno cukrownie jak i rolnicy, muszą maksymalnie ograniczać koszty produkcji.
Abstract	The work is presenting effects of three years of the sugar market reform. In six countries the sugar production has ceased, and in many, including Poland, it has been much limited. Simultaneously a group of countries emerged with greater production than before the reform. Even though retail prices of sugar went down it did not cause lowering prices of products containing sugar. In order to stay in the market, both sugar factories and farmers must reduce to minimum the production costs.

Abstrakt	W pracy przedstawiono wykorzystanie środków pomocowych z UE przez producentów drobiu w Małopolsce na tle innych kierunków produkcji rolniczej. Skorzystano z danych Małopolskiego Oddziału Regionalnego ARiMR, dotyczących informacji o projektach i zrealizowanych inwestycjach w gospodarstwach małopolskich, finansowanych ze środków unijnych. W Małopolsce pozyskano środki do finansowania inwestycji w produkcji drobiarskiej (w liczbie 10 zrealizowanych umów) na kwotę 1 618,79 tys. zł, co stanowi niecałe 2% łącznej wartości zrealizowanych projektów inwestycyjnych w małopolskich gospodarstwach rolnych. W zakresie ułatwienia startu młodym rolnikom tylko 1 (50 tys. zł) na 531 realizowanych wniosków dotyczył produkcji drobiarskiej. Jego wartość stanowiła 0,2% ogólnej kwoty (26,55 mln zł) przyznanej młodym rolnikom w Małopolsce.
Abstract	This work presents the intake of financial support from the EU by poultry producers in Małopolska region against a background of other production directions in agriculture. Data about projects financed by the EU in farms in Małopolska were taken from the Agency of Agriculture Restructuring and Modernization. Farmers in Małopolska received support for investment in poultry production (in number of 10 projects) worth 1 618.79 thousand PLN, which accounts for less than 2% of the total value of realized investment projects in agricultural farms. In the area of facilitating the start for young farmers only 1 project (worth 50 thousand PLN) out of 531 realized projects was connected with poultry production. This accounts for 0.2% of the total amount (26 550 thousand PLN) awarded to young farmers in Małopolska.

Abstrakt	W pracy badano zróżnicowanie działalności gospodarstw w zależności od kierunku produkcji i ziemi. Do badań zakwalifikowano gospodarstwa z województwa warmińsko mazurskiego,których właściciele pozyskiwali alternatywne źródła dochodów prowadząc chów strusi lub danieli. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na powierzchnię gospodarstw oraz wyniki ekonomiczne. Dokonano również oceny wskaźników korelacji zmiennych opisujących gospodarstwa zajmujące się chowem strusi i danieli. W gospodarstwach chowających strusie powierzchnia użytków rolnych była skorelowana z dopłatami bezpośrednimi. Abstract	The differentiation of farms’ activity according to production direction and land area was analyzed. Farms whose owners had alternative incomes from breeding ostrich and fallow deers were analyzed. Particular attention was paid to farms’ area and economic results. Moreover, correlation coefficients between variables describing farms involved in ostrich and fallow deer breeding were analyzed. In ostrich breeding farms the land area was correlated with direct payments and incomes. In fallow deer breeding farms the land area was correlated with direct payments, incomes and expenditures.
