Abstrakt	Krajowa hodowla roślin jest ciągle państwowa i w związku z zaprzestaniem dotowania staje przed bardzo trudnym wyzwaniem utrzymania się na rynku i dalszego rozwoju. Dodatkowo sytuację pogarsza fakt, że rynek nasion kwalifikowanych w Polsce jest niezwykle mały, a ponadto znacząco zwiększa się konkurencja ze strony podmiotów zagranicznych. Państwowe instytuty badawcze zajmujące się nauką dla hodowli roślin same lub we własnych spółkach prowadzą komercyjną działalność hodowlaną, konkurując z branżą, której powinny być zapleczem. Mimo tych trudności istniejący jeszcze obecnie potencjał hodowlany jest zdolny do tworzenia odmian w większości gatunków, będących w stanie konkurować z odmianami zagranicznymi. Malejąca pozycja rynkowa wynika najczęściej z zaniedba ń marketingowych. Niewielki rynek nasion nie zapewni jednak wystarczających środków dla utrzymania obecnie istniejącego potencjału hodowlanego . niezbędna jest konsolidacja niektórych programów hodowlanych i/lub przedsięwzięć marketingowych. Konieczne działania to utrzymanie mechanizmu dopłat do nasion .de minimis., umacnianie prawa własności do odmiany, skuteczniejsze przeciwdziałanie nielegalnemu handlowi nasion, przesunięcie spółek hodowlanych z instytutów badawczych do ANR celem dalszej konsolidacji i prywatyzacji oraz zapewnienie rosnących nakładów na projekty badawcze na rzecz hodowli roślin.
Abstract	State owned domestic plant breeding is facing free market reality after the public support come to a full stop. Nowadays, the usage of certified seed exchange is extremely low, illegal seed market is common and the competition from foreign breeders grows up every year. Moreover, the state research institutes compete in commercial breeding with the branch they are expected to create new knowledge and germplasm for. Despite this national breeders are still able to develop competitive varieties in majority of the crops. However essential changes must be introduced to maintain and develop domestic plant breeding: consolidation of the state owned breeding enterprises in one hand and then careful privatization, maintaining the .de minimis. support for seeds, strengthening Plant Breeder’s Rights, intensification of the marketing and promotion and increased investment in plant breeding research.

Abstrakt	W artykule przeprowadzono ocenę wykorzystania wybranych czynników produkcji z punktu widzenia efektywności zarządzania przedsiębiorstw kierowanych przez menedżerów i właścicieli. Próbę badawczą stanowiła jednolita grupa przedsiębiorstw rolniczych w latach 2001-2007. Zweryfikowano pozytywnie hipotezę badawczą, że właściciele zarządzają efektywniej od menedżerów, w odniesieniu do kapitału własnego i aktywów ogółem. Do badań zastosowano analizę porównawczą, analizę wskaźnikową oraz test na różnice .średnich.
Abstract	The paper presents the assessment of utilization of selected production resources in the view of effectiveness of management in enterprises run by either by the contracted managers or by the companies owners. Research sample was build based on agricultural enterprises which were analyzed for the years 2001-2007. In the analysis the comparative and ratio analysis were applied together with the test for difference between means. Research hypothesis that owners are managing in a more effective way then the contracted managers was verified positively with respect to equity and total assets.

Abstrakt	W opracowaniu zaprezentowano wybrane polskie modele prognozowania upadłości przedsiębiorstw oraz możliwości ich wykorzystania do badań nad upadłości przedsiębiorstw z sektora rolniczego. Wskazano modele charakteryzujące się najwyższą i najniższą zdolnością prognostyczną. Stwierdzono, że przeanalizowane modele, w szczególności przy kwalifikowaniu badanych przedsiębiorstw do grupy zagrożonych upadłości, cechują się niską zdolnością prognostyczną.
Abstract	The paper aims to present the selected discrimination models developer by Polish scientists used to predict the bankruptcy of company. Moreover it aims to assess their abilities in researches of insolvencies and bankruptcies of enterprises from agricultural sector. In the paper there were pointed out models that are characterized by the heist and the lowest prediction level. The paper argues that the described models, especially when including analyzed companies into the group of endangered by the bankruptcy, are characterized by low prediction level.

Abstrakt	W opracowaniu przedstawiono sytuację w hodowli roślin ogrodniczych w spółkach ANR w latach 1996-2006. Spółki hodowli roślin ogrodniczych odgrywają istotną rolę, ponieważ ich własnością w 2006 roku było 74% odmian krajowych znajdujących się w Centralnym Rejestrze Odmian Roślin Warzywnych COBORU. W analizowanych latach nastąpił wzrost rejestracji odmian, pomimo zmniejszenia się liczby gatunków w badaniach oraz liczby przedsiębiorstw. Zwiększyła się również liczba odmian należących do spółek. Nakłady ogółem ponoszone na hodowlę roślin ogrodniczych w analizowanych latach zmniejszyły się w ujęciu nominalnym o 24%. Jednak w ujęciu realnym nakłady na hodowlę zmniejszyły się aż o 56%.
Abstract	The paper analysis horticultural breeding plants in APA.s companies. These firms are crucial in the development of biological progress. They own 74% of Polish vegetable sub-species listed in Official Subspecies Register in the 2006 year. In the research period 1996-2006, generally there was observable the increase of varieties registration, and decrease of number of species in research and number of enterprises. However there was noted increase of varieties owned by APAs companies (45%) in the Register. It is important to note that the funds spend on horticultural plant breeding decreased by 56% in the research period.

Abstract	Analysis of financial and production results in large scale pig farms during 1995–2002 period is an aim of this research. It was ascertained that number of large scale pig farms decreased, and most of them operate as rented enterprises. Decrease of acreage and labour resources were also observed within analyzed group. Yields in field production especially cereals yields were very similar across law forms of companies. In all types of farms independently on their organizational and law type decrease of pork production was observed. Huge differences were also visible in labour efficiency. The lowest efficiency was evaluated in APA (Agricultural Property Agency) depended companies, and the highest in fully private and in rented farms

Określono zależno- .ci w zakresie: zasobów siły roboczej, ekonomicznej i społecznej wydajności pracy, udziału kosztów pracowniczych w kosztach operacyjnych oraz ich relacji do przychodów ze sprzedaży, współczynnika wynagrodzeń, zwrotu z inwestycji w kapitał ludzki oraz ekonomicznej wartości dodanej tego kapitału.
Abstract	The paper aims analyse the costs and labour productivity in agricultural enterprises of different legal forms of land management. The lowest level of employment occurred in the leaseholders. enterprises, whereas the highest . in the owned by companies Agricultural Property Agency (APA), what resulted in the lowest labour productivity. The highest level of labour productivity was noted in the owners. enterprises. In the APA companies, the highest wages ratio was found, what illustrated the highest share of labour costs in operational costs. Differences in labour costs between the owners. enterprises and the leaseholders. enterprises were rather minimal, what suggests implementation of similar employment and wages policies. In addition, in the owners. enterprises the highest return on investment in human capital was found, whereas the lowest . in the APA companies. Moreover, it concerned also a level of value-added of human capital, where the owners. and leaseholders. enterprises dominated. Finally, enterprises buying or leasing land were characterised by more effective use of labour force, in comparison to the APA companies.

Abstract	The paper presents differences between Polish balance law and the IAS/ /IFRS as well as their consequences for the financial situation evaluation of the Provimi-Rolimpex Capital Group. Several divergences between Polish balance law and the IAS/IFRS were found, especially in the fixed and current assets, the profit and loss statement as well as in the ratio analysis. These differences were caused by dissimilar valuation or obligation of reclassifying some assets’ positions to different categories or as a result of decrease or increase of some assets, capital or results. The fixed material assets had the greatest impact on the balance, which amounted 77% of the assets’ changes. The fixed material assets, by change the valuation into the fair value, caused increase of equity value by 75.528 thousand PLN. Employment of the IAS/IFRS resulted in implementation of new biology and fixed assets’ positions. The financial result calculated within the Accounting Act was lower by 1.222 thousand PLN than within the IAS/IFRS. Transformation of the financial declaration within the IAS/IFRS, initially made within the Accounting Act rules, resulted in increase of the sale profitability ratio, decrease of total indebtness and equity indebtness ratios. However, assets and equity profitability as well as the liquidity level decreases. There happened no essential changes regarding management effectiveness ratios

Abstract	In the paper the analysis of the dependence between an amount of working capital (WC) for the unit of net profit (NP) and financial standing of agricultural enterprises is presented. The lowest level of this relationship did not guarantee a stable level of profitability of property, own capital and land use. Too high level of that relationship contributed to the increase of efficiency in this scope, but on the level lower than in enterprises with average relationship WC/NP. Only in enterprises with the highest relationship WC/NP maintenance of quick and current liquidity ratio was stated. Enterprises of the lowest relationship WC/NP were endangered with loss of financial liquidity and were characterized with the highest debt. The vindication of dues was the most efficient in enterprises with the highest relationship WC/NP. The working capital is fundamental source of the current activity financing, while too high level of it could be inefficient. Therefore it is a necessity of search its optimum in relationship to the profit, what transfers to the efficiency of use of land, labour and capital.

Abstract	The future of dairy branch belongs to major concerns producing milk, in which high parameters of milk yields are achieved and wider opportunities for modernization of production exist. Indisputable advantage of scale enjoyed by large production units over the small-sized ones is an objective law which has world recognition. Besides when reforming the branch it is necessary to create a range of large corporate enterprises which will be based on modern market relations and various forms of management. Various cooperation-integration structures are being created in the republic today. They unite several enterprises within the limits of one area, and the interregional and republican specialized complexes both.

Abstrakt	Celem niniejszej pracy jest ocena sytuacji wybranych gospodarstw przed i po wstąpieniu Polski do Unii Europejskiej w oparciu o elementy analizy wskaźnikowej. Badania przeprowadzono w gospodarstwie rolniczo-sadowniczym, zakładzie rybackim prowadzącym działalność przy zachowaniu nienaruszalności ekosystemu (na terenie rezerwatu przyrody) i w przedsiębiorstwie ogrodniczym prowadzącym produkcję pod osłonami. Po akcesji Polski do UE zaobserwowano w gospodarstwie rolniczo-sadowniczym i rybackim wzrost zapasów produktów gotowych, w gospodarstwie rolniczo – sadowniczym i ogrodniczym wzrost rentowności oraz ograniczenie zewnętrznego finansowania tych podmiotów pomimo występowania dodatniego efektu dźwigni finansowej
Abstract	The aim of this work is to estimate the situation of selected farms before and after Polish accession to the EU using elements of indicator analysis. The research was executed in a fruit-growing farm, in a fish farm using sustainable production techniques (in a nature reserve area), and in a horticultural enterprise with production in greenhouses. After Polish accession to the European Union a growth of stock of ready products was observed in the fruit-growing farm and the fish farm, as well as a growth of profitability and reduction of external financing in the fruit-growing farm and the horticultural farm despite the beneficial effects of financial leverage.

Abstrakt	Zaprezentowano wyniki badań i studiów prognostycznych IBMER w zakresie przemian technologicznych i ponoszonych nakładów materiałowo-energetycznych w rozwojowych gospodarstwach rodzinnych. Stwierdzono systematyczne oddziaływanie postępu naukowo-technicznego na efektywność produkcji roślinnej i zwierzęcej w ciągle zmniejszającej się liczbie towarowych gospodarstw rolniczych. Dalszy postęp technologiczny, zmniejszanie się skumulowanej energochłonności i jednostkowych kosztów produkcji rolniczej będzie stymulować utrzymywanie się około 400 tys. gospodarstw i przedsiębiorstw obrotu rolnego zdolnych do konkurowania na unijnych i światowych rynkach żywnościowych
Abstract	Results of investigations and prognostic assessments effected by IBMER relating to both technological transformation and material as well as energy inputs in the developing family farms are presented. The results have shown a continuous impact of the scientific and technological progress on the effectiveness of plant and animal production, combined with a decreasing number of commercial family farms. The technological progress as well as decreasing cumulative energy consumption and diminishing unit costs of agricultural production are expected to stimulate the economic activity of about 400 thousand farms and agricultural enterprises capable to withstand competition in the European an world markets
