Abstrakt	Treścią pracy jest próba przedstawienia zmieniającej się problematyki rozważań naukowych w zakresie zarządzania przedsiębiorstwami. W drugiej połowie XX w. dominowały prace naukowe poświęcone ekonomice produkcji. W latach dziewięćdziesiątych XX wieku oraz pierwszej dekadzie XXI w. dominują prace poświęcone zarządzaniu przedsiębiorstwami w oparciu o miary jakościowe. Omówiono znaczenie kapitału w warunkach rozwiniętej gospodarki rynkowej. Dowiedziono, że ograniczenie wartości przedsiębiorstwa do oceny kapitału realnego pomija ważną cechę kapitału, jaką jest zdolność do jego pomnażania.
Abstract	This paper is an attempt to present the changing subject matter of scientific considerations on management of enterprises. In the second half of the 20th century research papers focused on production economics. In the 1990.s and in the first decade of the 21st century the issues of management of enterprises based on quality measures have predominated. This study discusses the role of capital in the developed market economy. It was shown that a limitation of the value of an enterprise solely to the evaluation of the real capital neglects an important property of capital, which is its accumulation capacity.

Abstrakt	Skuteczność stylu kierowania w organizacji zależy od jego dopasowania do wielu zmiennych opisujących kierownika, podwładnych, organizację i otoczenie organizacji. W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań nad stylami kierowania w przedsiębiorstwach rolniczych w województwie kujawsko-pomorskim. Określono potencjał produkcyjny, zmiany w kierunkach i intensywności produkcji oraz sytuacji finansowej. Na tej podstawie stwierdzono jaki jest stan i perspektywy kształtowania stylów kierowania w przedsiębiorstwach rolniczych.
Abstract	The paper aims to define the types of management in agricultural enterprises. There are two main opposite types of management and several mixed types in between. The democratic style is believed to be more modern then the autocratic one. The analysis considered potential of production, organization and financial and economical results. The paper argues that the autocratic type of management dominate in analyzed agricultural enterprises. This style is adjusted to the youth stages of cycle of life of organization. The conclusion is that the agricultural enterprises are in youth stages of cycle of life and this is why the types of management can not be change into more democratic one.

Abstract	The problem of effective using of gated out budgetary funds in agrarian sector is discussed. An offer of development of a procedure which should consider potential productivity of each region and agricultural organization and promote a decrease of differences between enterprises and territories on a level of economic development is presented. Besides it is necessary to consider the future membership of Belarus in the World Trade Organization (WTO). Entering condition in this organization for the agrarian sector is a removal of budget assignments on financing exports and a limitation of level of the state support for agriculture.

Abstract	Same problems of small and medium food marketing enterprise have been presented. The authors have shown results of an investigation made in nine firms, their resourses, major adjustment decisions, especially in the form of outsourcing, and their economic results.

Abstrakt	Tworzenie wspólnotowego rynku żywnościowego i dążenie do swobodnego przepływu towarów przyczyniły się do ograniczenia obligatoryjnych wymagań w zakresie podstawowych norm jakościowych środków spożywczych w Polsce. Dostosowywanie cen żywności do możliwości nabywczych polskich gospodarstw domowych odbywa się kosztem jakości produktu. Liberalizacja przepisów w odniesieniu do podstawowych norm ułatwia producentom stosowanie nieuczciwych praktyk handlowych, polegających między innymi na fałszowaniu żywności. Wyniki kontroli urzędowych wskazują na niejednolitą interpretację zawartej w prawie krajowym definicji „środka spożywczego zafałszowanego”.
Abstract	Formation of the common European food market, aimed at freeing flow of goods, contributed to limitation of basic, obligatory quality standards for food in Poland. Adaptation of food prices to the level affordable by Polish households is correlated with food quality. Liberalization of food standards enable producers to engage in fraudulent practices such as adulteration of food. Results of official controls show various interpretations of the definition of ‘food adulteration’ which is inherent in the Polish regulation.

Abstrakt	W polskim przemyśle spożywczym trwają procesy koncentracji i konsolidacji przejawiające się w przejmowaniu przedsiębiorstw tego przemysłu przez krajowych i międzynarodowych inwestorów. Doprowadziły one do znacznej koncentracji w niektórych działach przemysłu spożywczego, a szczególnie w produkcji piwa, wina oraz wyrobów tytoniowych. Jednak stopień koncentracji przemysłu spożywczego jest wyraźnie mniejszy niż całego przemysłu przetwórczego. Wynika to ze specyfiki produkcji żywności charakteryzującej się między innymi relatywnie małą majątkochlonnością i dużą pracochłonnością, silnym powiązaniem zakładów przetwórczych z rynkami lokalnymi oraz różnorodnością asortymentową i krótkimi seriami produkcji.
Abstract	Concentration and consolidation processes manifesting themselves in takeovers of industry enterprises by domestic and international investors take place in the Polish food industry. These processes have led to a considerable concentration in some branches of food industry, particularly in the production of beer, wine and tobacco products. Nevertheless the degree of concentration in the food industry is substantially lower than that in the whole of processing industry. It results from the specificity of production of food being characterized, among others, by a relatively small capital intensity combined with a great labour intensity, a strong linkage of food-processing plants with local markets, a diversity of products and short series of production

Abstract	Making proper decisions by people who manage enterprises is not an easy work, therefore there is a large demand for the analytical information. The financial ratio analyse is conducted in most of enterprises. However, only its extension by the causal analysis enables to define factors that influence changes in economical phenomena of enterprises. The aim of this work is an attempt to assess the factors which are most powerful in affecting the financial result of the analyzed firms as well as an estimation of the management efficiency based on the conducted research. The partial differences method has been used in the Du Pont analysis model. The study comprised the years 2002–2006. The confectionery companies: Jutrzenka, Mieszko and Wawel, all three quoted on the Warsaw Stock Exchange were analyzed. There have been conducted two types of analysis. The financial ratio analysis and the causal analysis based on the Du Pont model. Obtained results can be used to estimate the financial situation of firms and to make optimal managerial decisions.

Abstract	The paper assesses the cash flow structure of food industry companies from Lower Silesia region in 2002–2004. The research aimed to determine the directions of net cash flow in different types of business activity, namely: operational, investment and financial. Moreover the way the financial gross margin was generated has been assessed. The net profit worked out by the enterprise is not only one measure of its financial condition and not only condition of its existence. There are other important factors, out of which the cash flow is very important. The cash flow determines the liquidity and solvency of the company. The Cash Flow Account describes the flow of money between the balance at the beginning and the balance at the end of the period. It gives the possibility to assess the company’s ability to generate the cash. In short period the cash not the profit is of key importance for a company. Moreover it shows changes that took place in certain positions of balance sheet due to cash flows. It allows also to determine main direction of outflow of cash and to analyze the mechanisms which influence the financial situation of a company.

Abstract	Bankruptcy as a mechanism of natural selection is an inherent element in business. This relates to all business entities, hence also agribusiness entities. The past research on financial hazards to enterprises did not include financial data of this type of entities. In view of the specificity of the agricultural sector it is worthwhile to consider the extent to which the existing financial hazard models allow to make accurate forecasts of bankruptcy of enterprises. Abstract	The paper presents estimated level of equipage and effectiveness of making use of real capital assets in agricultural enterprises with different legal forms of cropland management. The highest level of equipage of real capital assets, in relation to the cropland area and resources of the labour, has been noted in enterprises of direct owners, however the lowest amounted in enterprises of lessees. In owners enterprises the participation of the depreciation in operating-costs was the highest, whereat the difference in relation to Agricultural Property Agency (APA) companies and enterprises of lessees was not so significant. Only in APA enterprises, in the analyzed period, the reproduction of a used real capital assets was confirmed. The adverse tendency in this range have been noted in owners enterprises. The highest revenues amount and the profitability of the real capital assets appeared in enterprises of lessees. The lowest revenues of these resources turned up in owners enterprises, and the lowest profitability was ascertained in APA companies

Abstract	There is some problem with availability of capital sources in SME section. Therefore the factoring could be a financial instrument supporting effective management of the liabilities. A sale of receivables improves the general financial situation of a company. Together with the usage of this instrument the enterprise has got possibility to benefit from a wide range of profits, which results in improved structure of financial statement and better financial condition. Moreover factoring is a catalyst which is increasing a cycle of capital index in whole economy

Abstract	The article presents opinions of managers on investment processes in small and medium enterprises. In most of examined companies, the financial source of tangible investments was the ownership capital. The entrepreneurs consider this source as the safest and bringing the least additional costs. To choose the financial source, the entrepreneurs pay attention especially to the availability, maintaining the liquidity and lack of their own means to implement the investment. For the entrepreneurs, the new investments serve as a source to increase the production and to preserve the market position. They purchase the tangible assets as new ones and manage them reasonably, making periodic reviews and repairs. The enterprise managers realize the barriers of making the investment decisions and in connection with this, they are guided by an intuition and experience. They observe and learn from the environment observation
