Abstrakt	System opodatkowania rolnictwa na Ukrainie przekształcił się z mechanizmu fiskalnego w mechanizm dostarczenia dodatkowych środków finansowych za pomocą specjalnych zasad opodatkowania, funkcjonujących jako stały podatek rolny oraz specjalny system opodatkowania podatkiem VAT. W latach 2000–2009 podstawowy cel wprowadzenia specjalnych zasad opodatkowania w rolnictwie w postaci obniżenia ciężaru podatkowego został osiągnięty. Udział wpływów podatkowych z sektora rolnictwa w budżecie centralnym zmniejszył się o połowę. Jednocześnie na skutek wprowadzenia specjalnych zasad opodatkowania rolnictwo otrzymało znaczące środki finansowe, będące 2–3-krotnie wyższe niż wpływu podatkowe z sektora rolniczego. Mianowicie, wsparcie finansowe przez specjalne zasady opodatkowania podatkiem VAT w latach 2000–2008 wyniosło 31 mld UAH. Mimo krytyki, specjalne zasady opodatkowania rolnictwa pozostają najbardziej efektywnym instrumentem wsparcia rozwoju rolnictwa na Ukrainie, co uzasadnia ich dalsze funkcjonowanie w przyszłości, pod warunkiem korekty niektórych regulacji dotyczących stałego podatku rolnego oraz VAT.

Abstract	The Polish tax system does not differ from the tax systems of highly developed countries of Western Europe. It may encourage a balance budget and the projects financed by the state to modernize national economy. These opportunities are not fully utilized due to too large share of fixed expenditure in the state budget. In Poland, the main objective of privatization was to obtain funds for current expenses or funding deficit in the state budget. Privatisation in Poland was too little used as a tool to repair public finances. For example, did not apply the techniques of exchange foreign debt for shares in privatized enterprises. In this way, the Treasury got rid of most of the their property, which had at the beginning of the process of transition, failed to achieve long-term benefits. The plan of consolidation of government finances for the years 2011–2012 using the same strategy. So, once again, the current needs have been more important than long-term development projects

Abstract	In this paper I investigate the relationship between working capital management strategies, and industrial companies` profitability. Among the branches under consideration are food, metal and machine-engineering. I used sample of 36 companies listed in the Polish Stock Exchange for the period of 2004–2008. The empirical findings show a relationship between working capital management strategies, and companies` profitability. A conservative and moderate conservative strategies in the scope usually allowed to gain the highest level of effectiveness. A aggressive strategy usually allowed to gain the least level of effectiveness. Metal branch was characterized by the highest profitability.

Abstract	This article presents the problem of evolution of agri-business sector and its ability to function in the era of globalization and European integration. Describing the successive stages of development of Polish food the author wonders how they influenced the international cooperation of Polish enterprises and the opportunities arising from their positioning in the global economy. Special regard was given to privatization of enterprises in transition, subjected to the transformation and included in agri – food industry in the EU structures. The author argues that the mere inclusion of our country to the countries of market economy was a move to allow to join the globalized economic structures and legitimated active participation in international economic cooperation. It is considered that six years of operation in the EU structures changed our country both economically and politically. The EU membership has changed the structure of the economy and has continued transformation of privatization and modernization of most companies. Subsequent market-oriented transformation of corporate behavior forced the agribusiness sector and the high positioning of our economy to the international arena. Operation in the EU structures has opened a great opportunity for the Polish agri-business, for all its divisions, and only from wealth in the form of human and physical capital depends its development on a global scale

Abstract	After 15 years since beginning of the economic system transformation in 1989, substantial share of the polish sugar enterprises was characterised by domination of the state capital. In the research there were compared the strategies of operation in private sugar enterprises owned by chosen foreign investors and sugar processing companies grouped in the sugar holdings, possessed by the State. For that purpose operations of the research enterprises were decomposed into four function areas: production, human capital, marketing and finances. In result of undertaken analyses and comparisons of operation courses among groups of the sugar enterprises according to the above-mentioned areas, operation strategies realised by sugar enterprises grouped according to the differential ownership form were identified, described and evaluated.

Abstract	The paper deals methods of solid biomass estimation for energy purposes. Several ways of estimations are available at present what causes discrepancy in the figures. In the article useful methods were described for local government units, and enterprises interested in using biomass for energy purposes. Estimation methods of wood, straw and energy crops were presented. Estimating of resources of renewable sources, especially biomass, could became a significant practical problem, which can be meet by local government representatives, entrepreneurs interested in renewable sources technology development. Methods of estimating have complex and diverse character what could be seen like an obstacle in define raw material sources in farms for instance. Farms have many specific characteristics within technical and logistic organization, are placed in specific localizations sometimes very hard to cultivate because of agro technical factors. Those conditions dot not exclude the possibility of biomass estimating in the scale of province, poviat, commune or even in single farm. The present estimating methods need to be adopted by preparing common measuring standards which allows to prepare reliable calculations of biomass for fuel and energy sector. Methods of estimating are improving during process of research and current updating.

It was found that an adequate sample of research is crucial to obtain representative results. Mistakes in the selection of the sample may give differences between the distribution of characteristics in the sample and the general population. In this situation the hypothesis may remain unresolved.

Abstrakt	W pracy przedstawiono działania ekologizacje, jakie są prowadzone w przedsiębiorstwach mleczarskich na terenie Wielkopolski. Badaniom ankietowym poddano 32 jednostki, wśród których występowały przedsiębiorstwa małe, średnie i duże. Respondenci odpowiadali na pytania związane z czynnikami motywującymi do podejmowania działań pro środowiskowych, a także priorytetami, czy też barierami takich działań. Przedsiębiorstwa mleczarskie określały zmiany parametrów środowiskowych oraz zmiany w polityce środowiskowej firmy. W badanych przedsiębiorstwach podejmowane są działania pro środowiskowe, których forma oraz intensywność zależą od wielkości jednostki produkcyjnej W większości badanych przedsiębiorstw poprawie uległy parametry środowiskowe, takie jak waga odpadów w przeliczeniu na produkt gotowy, ilość opakowań odzyskiwanych w stosunku do całkowitej ilości opakowań, wielkość emisji do atmosfery, czy też ilość ścieków powstających w procesie produkcji.
Abstract	The ecologization activities ware presented in the article. They were conducted in Wielkopolska dairy companies. 32 units were included in the inquiry, among which there were small, medium and large companies. The respondents answered to questions which concerned the factors motivating to undertaking the pro-environmental activities and the priorities as well as the barriers for these activities. The dairy companies indicated changes in their environmental paremeters and changes in the company environmental policies. The pro-environmental activities are being taken in the examined companies. Their form and intensity depend on the size of production unit. In most researched companies, the following environmental parameters were improved: the weight of wastes with respect to the weight of finished product, the quantity of recovered packaging in comparison with the total amount of packaging, the volume of emissions to atmosphere and the quantity of sewage produced in the production process.

Abstrakt
Abstract	Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are handled differently in different countries. Whereas global acreage of GMOs jumped to 134 million hectares in 2009 [Cultivation... 2010], in many European countries opposition to GMOs is still strong, and their acreage is very small. This situation poses a difficult situation for many companies and their corporate social responsibility [CSR] strategies. Against this background, we conducted an online survey of 170 agribusiness firms in order to shed some light on how companies handle the conflict between, on the one hand, the growing use of GMOs worldwide and, on the other, the rejection of GMOs by European consumers. The empirical results show that many agribusiness firms perceive the use of GMOs as a highly relevant management issue that shapes their CSR strategies. All in all, agribusiness firms apply a wide spectrum of CSR activities, furthermore, CSR is considered a top management responsibility. GMOs are of aboveaverage relevance in firms that have been criticized for their attitudes towards and use of GMOs. The empirical results have interesting implications for the management of CSR and legitimacy in the agribusiness sector

Abstrakt	Celem pracy była ocena informacji zawartych na opakowaniach wybranej grupy produktów spożywczych (płynne przetwory przemysłu owocowo-warzywnego: soki, nektary, napoje), a w szczególności informacji mających wpływ na kształtowanie wiedzy żywieniowej konsumentów. Badania zostały przeprowadzone w sklepach detalicznych dwóch sieci handlowych, przy pomocy techniki obserwacji, z użyciem karty identyfikacyjnej oznakowania wyrobu. Badania pozwoliły na sformułowanie kilku istotnych wniosków. Informacja zamieszczana na opakowaniach ocenianych produktów jest w większości przypadków poprawna, jasna, czytelna i zrozumiała, za wyjątkiem informacji o partii produkcyjnej oraz nazwie produktu, w przypadku napojów owocowych. Ponadto, informacja podawana na opakowaniach soków, nektarów i napojów w większości przypadków była przyjazna konsumentowi, ponieważ uwzględnia ona informacje ważne z punktu widzenia edukacji żywieniowej konsumenta. Najczęściej występującą tego rodzaju informacją była informacja o wartości odżywczej
Abstract	The aim of the paper was to evaluate the information included on packaging of selected food products (liquid fruit-vegetable goods like juices, nectars, drinks), especially information having influence on the formation of consumers dietary knowledge. The research was conducted in shops of two retail trade networks with the use of an observation technique applying an identification card of product labeling. The conducted studies allowed to draw a few of relevant conclusions. Information included on packaging of evaluated products in most of cases is appropriate, clear, readable and comprehensible with the exception of information on the production batch and name of the product in case of fruit drinks. Information on juices, nectars and drinks packaging is in most cases consumer friendly, because of including dietary information having influence on the nutritional education of consumers. The most frequent information of this kind was the nutritional value information.
