| Abstrakt | The research aimed to identify the impact of the implemented projects on the change in the economic size and direction of farms. The research used studies of the literature on the subject and data from 4 803 farms that kept continuous accounting under the FADN system in 2005-2013. The analysed economy was grouped according to the value of investment outlays in funds, economic size, and production type. Research shows that the increase in the level of investment is conducive to increasing the economic strength of farms. However, these investments must be high enough to ensure the appropriate level of difficulty. For the lower average level of questions, smaller languages are less and very small. Moreover, investments favour and accelerate the processing of farms, which may also improve their economic effects. In the analysed group of mixed-type farms, they changed the destination for the cultivation of cereals and the place of milk. |

| Abstrakt | The purpose of this paper was to assess the prevailing relationships in the supply structure of the agribusiness sector in European Union countries over the years. The study focused on 25 European Union countries (Cyprus, Luxembourg and Malta were excluded) to address the changes in the supply structures of agriculture and food industries, the two major components of agribusiness. The study was of a dynamic nature. Although the study period was 2000–2014, this paper only presents the figures for the first and the last year, i.e. 2000 and 2014. The main focus was on drawing conclusions on the trends observed which proved to be relatively stable in the years covered. The input–output analysis was used by aggregating the sectors of the economy for a better transparency of the inference process. As shown by this study, EU countries at higher development levels witness a decline in the share of the chemical industry in the mix of goods and services supplied to agriculture. Conversely, less developed countries saw that ratio increase. Also, the share of goods supplied to agriculture from the fuel and energy sectors goes up in most EU countries. As regards the food industry, this study observed high shares of agriculture, services and self-supply in the supply structure of EU countries. This analysis extends the existing knowledge on the relationships in the structure of materials supplied to the agribusiness because in addition to agriculture itself (which was addressed by similar studies found in literature) it takes account of the food industry. Moreover, based on long-term observations, it endeavors to capture the prevailing relationships in several countries at a time. |

| Abstrakt | Rynek mleka od początku integracji europejskiej należał do najbardziej uregulowanych. Jednym w kluczowych instrumentów, które miały zapewnić jego stabilizację były wprowadzone w 1984 r. kwoty mleczne. Dążąc do większej liberalizacji rynku mleka UE zdecydowała o zniesieniu od 1 kwietnia 2015 r. limitów produkcji. Fakt ten znacząco zmienił warunki funkcjonowania gospodarstw specjalizujących się w produkcji mleka. Celem artykułu była próba ukazania jak zniesienie limitowania produkcji mleka wpłynęło na funkcjonowanie polskich gospodarstw mleczarskich. Podstawowym źródeł informacji były wyniki badań ankietowych przeprowadzonych wśród 1047 właścicieli gospodarstw specjalizujących się w produkcji mleka. Informacje te uzupełniono danymi Agencji Rynku Rolnego, Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego oraz Eurostat. W opinii ponad połowy respondentów na skutek likwidacji w 2015 r. kwot mlecznych pogorszyła się sytuacja ich gospodarstwa. Wynikało to przede wszystkim z niskich cen mleka, które wpłynęły na obniżenie opłacalności produkcji. Z tego względu aż 62% badanych było zdania, że na rynku mleka powinien być większy stopień interwencji. |
| Abstract | The milk market was one of the most regulated since the beginning of European integration. One of the key instruments to stabilize this market was milk quota. It was introduced in 1984. Aiming at greater milk market liberalization, the EU decided to lift limits of the production from 1 April 2015. This fact significantly changed the operating conditions of dairy farms. The aim of the article was to show how the implementation (along with Poland's accession to the EU), and then the abolition of milk production, affected the situation of Polish dairy farms. The primary sources of information were the results of a survey in 1047 dairy farm owners operating throughout the country. This information was supplemented by Agriculture Market Agency and Milk Market Observatory data. In the opinion of more than half of the respondents, as a result of the abolition of milk quotas in 2015, the situation of their farms worsted. This fact was primarily due to the low prices of raw milk, which was driven by lower efficiency of production. As a result, 62% of the respondents believed that there should be a greater degree of intervention on the milk market. |

| Abstrakt | Norwegia jest państwem o największym na świecie ekwiwalencie subwencji dla producentów rolnych – PSE w państwach OECD. Pomimo to od lat zmniejsza się tam zatrudnienie w rolnictwie i następuje wyludnianie obszarów wiejskich. Rozwój turystyki wiejskiej przyczynia się zarówno do spowolnienia tego procesu poprzez zwiększanie dochodów wiejskich gospodarstw domowych, jak i do zachowania tradycyjnego krajobrazu, wartości ekologicznych oraz dziedzictwa kulturowego, szczególnie kulinarnego. Za zarządzanie rozwojem turystyki na poziomie krajowym odpowiedzialne są głównie Ministerstwo ds. Klimatu i Środowiska, a szczególnie Departament Dziedzictwa Kulturowego i Środowiska Kulturowego i Departament Bioróżnorodności, a także Ministerstwo Rolnictwa i Żywności1. Na poziomie lokalnym dzięki innowacyjnemu podejściu do zarządzania przedsiębiorstwa turystyczne, chcąc ograniczyć negatywne skutki dużej sezonowości w tym sektorze gospodarki, przygotowują zarówno oferty typowe dla sezonu zimowego, jak i letniego. Umożliwia to zarówno lepsze wykorzystanie takich zasobów jak baza hotelowa oraz restauracje, jak i utrzymanie poziomu zatrudnienia pracowników. |
| Abstract | Of the OECD countries Norway has the world’s largest Producer and Support Estimate (PSE). Despite this, employment in agriculture has been decreasing for years and the rural population is dwindling. The development of rural tourism contributes to the slowing down of this process by increasing the income of rural households, as well as preserving the traditional landscape, ecological values and cultural heritage, especially culinary heritage. The Ministry of Climate and Environment (Department of Cultural heritage and cultural environment) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food are mainly responsible for managing the development of tourism at the national level. At the local level – thanks to an innovative approach to management – tourism enterprises, wanting to limit the negative impact of high seasonality in this sector of the economy, are engaged in the preparation of not only typical winter sport offers, such as skiing, but also of summer sports. This facilitates the better use of resources such as hotels and restaurants, and also helps to maintain employment levels. |

In the practical part, the attitudeof the group of students of the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the WULS-SGGW to the necessity of pro-ecologicalbehaviours and their expectations regarding the ways of propagating knowledge and activities in thefield of environmental education is presented. It turned out that more than 90% of the respondents considersuch behaviours as a necessary one, while around 60% believe that the entities responsible for promotingit among the society – in the form of obligatory education – should be schools and universities. Finally, thestudy contains original conclusions and findings regarding the observations made during the research. |

In addition, there was a regress of organising the fruitand vegetable market in the European Union. Therefore, it is suggested that according to the assumptions ofMancur Olson’s theory, selective stimuli (institutional support) motivating members of groups/organisationsto produce a common good that can be, i.a., overcoming the barrier of production scale or competitivenessof the sector should be applied. |

| Abstrakt | Celem niniejszego opracowania jest ocena poziomu rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego powiatów województwa wielkopolskiego. Zakres czasowy obejmował lata 2005–2007 oraz lata 2015–2017, w ramach których uśredniono wartości przyjętych cech. Przeprowadzone badania przy pomocy syntetycznego miernika rozwoju Hellwiga pozwoliły na dokonanie analizy porównawczej powiatów i obserwacji zmian, jakie nastąpiły w badanych okresach. Poszerzony zakres obserwacji wskazał ich znaczenie pod kątem wyodrębnionych aspektów społeczno-gospodarczych. Ponadto zaobserwowano zależność potencjału demograficznego, gospodarczego, infrastrukturalnego oraz środowiskowego. Przykład stanowią powiaty wschodniej części Wielkopolski. Niekorzystne zmiany w sferze potencjału demograficznego przeniosły się na aspekt gospodarczy i zdecydowały o poziomie rozwoju społeczno-gospodarczego. |
| Abstract | The purpose of this article is to assess the level of socio-economic development of the poviats of the Wielkopolskie voivodship. The time range covered two periods: 2005–2007 and 2015–2017, within which values of the adopted features were averaged. The research carried out with the help of a synthetic Hellwig development measure allowed for a comparative analysis of poviats and observation of changes that occurred in the examined periods. The extended scope of observations indicated their importance in terms of separate socio-economic aspects. In addition, the relationship between demographic, economic, infrastructural and environmental potential was observed. An example is the poviats of the eastern part of Wielkopolska. Adverse changes in the sphere of demographic potential have moved to the economic aspect and have determined the level of socio-economic development. |

| Abstrakt | W opracowaniu autorzy podjęli problematykę dywersyfikacji źródeł dochodów ludności wiejskiej, a więc szans na ich kreowanie ze źródeł innych niż rolnictwo. Stwierdzono, że na terenach wiejskich w przyszłości większą rolę będą odgrywały działalności niszowe, a jednym z nowych kierunków działalności może być tworzenie domów spokojnej starości na wsi. Wysycenie kraju w takie jednostki jest zróżnicowane. Najwięcej ich jest w województwach największych, najludniejszych i najbardziej zurbanizowanych. Pod względem dostępności natomiast najkorzystniejsza jest sytuacja w województwie opolskim, świętokrzyskim i warmińsko-mazurskim. Na terenach wiejskich najwięcej było domów pomocy społecznej w województwie mazowieckim, małopolskim, wielkopolskim i śląskim. Biorąc pod uwagę jednak populację województw, najkorzystniejsza była sytuacja w województwach: pomorskim, opolskim i śląskim. Największa dostępność miejsc wystąpiła natomiast w województwach pomorskim, opolskim, mazowieckim i śląskim. |
| Abstract | In the study, the authors tackled the problem of diversifying the sources of income of the rural population, and thus the opportunities for their creation from sources other than agriculture. It was found that in the future rural areas niche activities will play a greater role, and one of the new directions of activity may be the creation of retirement homes in the countryside. The saturation of the country in such units varies. Most of them are in the largest, most populous and most urbanized voivodships. In terms of availability, however, the most favorable situation is in the Opolskie, Świętokrzyskie and Warmian-Masurian voivodships. In rural areas, there was the most social welfare for homes in the Mazowieckie, Małopolskie, Wielkopolskie and Śląskie voivodships. However, taking into account the population of voivodships, the most favorable situation was in the Pomeranian, Opolskie and Śląskie voivodships. The highest availability of seats occurred in Pomeranian, Opole, Masovian and Silesian. |

| Abstrakt | The labour market is constantly changing. Employees, depending on their age, experience and qualifications, have different expectations towards the employer, and at the same time expect other motivators in the employment process. A particular challenge for employers is to motivate young people who enter the labour market, because it is difficult to motivate them in such a way that they do not give up work and want to get involved with the company for longer. Due to the topicality of this issue, the purpose of the study is to indicate the reasons that make young people quit their jobs. The study uses reports on factors determining the behavior of young people on the labor market, as well as the results of surveys conducted among students of selected universities in the Wielkopolska region. These studies have shown that the most common reasons for changing jobs identified by young people are: unsatisfactory pay, a bad atmosphere, and inappropriate relationships with their superiors. |

| Abstrakt | The demand for raspberries and blackberries has risen sharply in Europe and North America in recent years. Ukraine is almost one third of the world’s black earth, a favorable climate for growing vegetables, fruits and berries, as well as a good ratio of daytime and nighttime temperatures and optimal length of sunny day. Therefore, the authors consider that Ukraine could become a reliable supplier of berries in Europe and America. Berries will not give the same high gross production as cereals. But these products are perspective in terms of processing, value added and profitability for the manufacturer. Considering the strategic importance of growing berries in Ukraine the subject of the research is to study the competitiveness and prospects for production of berries in Ukraine. The conducted assessment of the status and prospects of growing berries shows that Ukraine has been steadily producing within the range of 130-135 thousand tons of berries in recent years. Due to the fact that the products of private households and horticultural societies are not actually taxed, they have significant competitive advantages over agricultural enterprises, which is one of the reasons for the curtailment of industrial horticulture in Ukraine. But, on the other hand, they are inferior to large enterprises because of not failing to implement sanitary, technical standards, certification etc. In order to ensure the competitiveness of domestic producers in the external market, berry producers need to be more actively involved in the process of improving product quality, since in Ukraine only five agribusinesses have a Global GAP certificate, which is a minimum condition for access to the EU market. According to the results of the study, the authors consider organic production of berries as another perspective direction for the development of domestic berries. |

Wskazano, iż rozwinięcie rynku żywności lokalnej oparte jest na tradycji wytwarzania i spożywania produktów pochodzących z własnego gospodarstwa, stanowi efekt rozwoju metod produkcji, przechowalnictwa, transportu, dystrybucji i współpracy środowisk lokalnych. Zaprezentowano dane dotyczące rynku żywności lokalnej oraz przeprowadzono dyskusję na temat definicji żywności lokalnej. Przedstawiono producentów żywności lokalnej, jako autentycznych „strażników” systemów jej produkcji, mogących wnieść istotny wkład w popularyzację modelu zrównoważonej konsumpcji. Potwierdzono tezę o istotnym znaczeniu produktów lokalnych w realizacji idei zrównoważonej konsumpcji. Stwierdzono, że rynek żywności lokalnej stanowi szerokie pole działań i wymaga dalszych prac, następnie zasygnalizowane przyszłe kierunki badań. Artykuł ma charakter przeglądowy, a prowadząc analizę, dokonano analizy danych wtórnych, w tym także własnych badań naukowych w tym zakresie. |
| Abstract | The aim of the paper was to characterize the concept and origin of local food and to discuss its meaning in the context of the sustainable consumption idea. The paper points that the development of the local food market is based on the tradition of production and consumption of food products that come from private farms and is the result of the development of production methods, as well as methods of storage, transport, distribution and cooperation between local market subjects. The paper presents data concerning the local food market and discusses the definition of local food. It shows local food producers as authentic “guardians” of local food production systems who can significantly contribute to the popularization of the sustainable consumption model. Moreover, it confirms the thesis about the importance of local products in the implementation of the idea of sustainable consumption. The local food market turns out to be a wide field of activity and requires further scientific work. The paper proposes some future research directions. It is a review that includes analysis on the basis of some secondary data, including also the author’s own scientific research in this field. |

| Abstrakt | The formation of professional competences of modern economists requires from the educational institution, from the teachers fundamentally new approaches in professional education: the integration of pedagogical, economic and entrepreneurial knowledge, skills and abilities. The aim of the study is to analyze modern approaches to the formulation of the concept of »competence«, to find out the components of professional competence for the preparation of future economists. General scientific methods of research have been applied: induction and deduction, refinement and classification. The modern approaches to the formulation of the concept of »competence« have been analyzed in the article. Historical and terminological analysis of its essence made it possible to find out the components, the structure of professional competence. Special attention has been paid to the content of key and substantive competence. The formation of professional competence of economists must be carried out taking into account the modern requirements in the field of education, educational programs of the specialty. Thus, a highly skilled economist one can become due to a high motivational indicator, confidence in the correct selection of the future kind of activity, the desire to acquire as much information professional material and its transformation into knowledge, which will lead to professionalism in the process of the vocational practice. In the subsequent research, we will substantiate the process of forming the competitiveness of future economists. |

| Abstract | The main goal of this article was to present carsharing as one of the most popular forms of sharing resources in the broader context of changes taking place in the environment of contemporary humans. Changes in the needs of today`s consumers and preferences of their implementation are present in the scientific discourse on the sharing economy, as well as a new trend of research: social logistics, including city logistics. The article is of a review and descriptive nature. The synthesis of scientific and journalistic literature and reports was adopted. Supporting the presented observations, the survey was conducted among the users of the carsharing system in Warsaw, and its results were presented in a descriptive and tabular form. |

| Abstract | The purpose of women who living in rural areas work was to present what their professional situation really looks like. The author presents information about their duties and professional work. The financial reason was the main impulse to work of women who living in rural areas. The research showed the problem that despite the lack of satisfaction with their work in non-agricultural fields, they would not decide to change it. |

| Abstrakt | Celem artykułu było wskazanie determinant rozwoju ekoinnowacji wprowadzanych w przedsiębiorstwach agrobiznesu oraz głównych barier powodujących niechęć dla działań inwestycyjnych o charakterze ekologicznym. Badania przeprowadzono w drugim kwartale 2019 roku na obszarach wiejskich województwa pomorskiego wśród właścicieli, kierowników bądź osób zajmujących się ochroną środowiska. Badania wykazały, że oprócz korzyści środowiskowych czynnikiem determinującym wprowadzanie ekoinnowacji są korzyści ekonomiczne i społeczne. Badane przedsiębiorstwa inwestowały najczęściej w OZE, segregację odpadów i modernizację linii technologicznych. Wskazano również na bariery, na jakie napotykają przedsiębiorstwa agrobiznesu. Wśród najważniejszych należy wymienić przestarzałą infrastrukturę, ograniczenia finansowe, wysokie koszty ekoinnowacji i prowadzenie działalności w warunkach niepewności rynkowej. |
| Abstract | The aim of the article was to indicate determinants of the development of eco-innovations implemented in agribusiness companies and chief barriers that trigger reluctance towards investments of ecological nature. Research was conducted in rural areas of Pomorskie Province in the second quarter of 2019 among owners, managers and others who operate in the field of environment protection. The research showed that, besides environmental benefits, the decisive factor for the implementation of eco-innovations are the economical and social benefits. The surveyed companies mostly invested in RES, waste segregation and modernization of existing technological lines. Also, certain barriers were indicated which agribusiness companies still encounter. The most important of those include outmoded infrastructure, financial limitations, high cost of eco-innovations and operating in the conditions of market instability. |

| Abstrakt | Economic literature pays a great deal of attention to economic and financial efficiency, expressed in terms of competition, concentration, productivity and profitability. This paper provides an all-embracing framework for the various existing theories in this area and illustrates these theories with practical applications. Currently, changing the size of the production potential in agricultural units in the Republic of Moldova depends to a great extent on the influence of different trends in the modification of production resources: the reduction of labor resources and agricultural land, quantitative and qualitative changes in fixed assets, and in current assets, etc.The notion of resource potential means the totality of the volume of all resources (natural, labor, material, intellectual, information, etc.) on specific enterprises, territories, branches, regions. Evaluating a broad field of research, the paper describes profit maximizing food products and demonstrates how several widely-used products can be fit into this framework. The authors also present an overview of the current major trends in the food sector and relate them to the assumptions for food products, thereby displaying their relevance and timeliness. The results include a set of recommendations for future research on this topic.The design, methodology and approach of this research is to explain why efficiency can help obtain a profit surplus, and to measure this efficiency. For quality of methodology we apply a range of statistical methods, as well as the strategic capability of organisations – made up of resources and competences. One way to approach the stategic capability of an organisation is to consider its strengths and weaknesses (for example, where it has a competitive advantage, profit, efficiency or disadvantage). Based on our research and results, we sought to understand the concepts of financial effciency and to apply these concepts to practical situations. At the start of each analysis entrepreneurship plays an important role. Most organisations have to innovate constantly to obtain profit and efficiency for food products. They need to be first into a market, or simply a follower of customers in developing new products and services. Original studies in Moldova and Poland regarding farm concentration in terms of Gini Coefficient, Gini Index and Concentration Index of the utilized agricultural area. Original calculus formula to determine the Concentration Index of the UAA for the top 10% largest farms in Moldova and UK. |

| Abstrakt | Celem badań było określenie przewidywanych plonów, efektywności wykorzystania N (NUE), wymywania N, emisji N2O i NH3 w zależności od zmian klimatu do 2050 r. Badania wykonano, z zastosowaniem modelu DNDC, dla okresów lat 1991-2010, 2011-2030 i 2031-2050 oraz 10 lokalizacji w Polsce. W symulacjach uwzględniono zmianowanie roślin: kukurydza na ziarno – jęczmień jary – rzepak ozimy – pszenica ozima, które uprawiano na glebach lekkich, średnich i ciężkich, przy nawożeniu wynoszącym odpowiednio: 140, 90, 160 i 120 kg N ha-1. Stwierdzono, że zmiany klimatu przyczynić się mogą do wzrostów plonów kukurydzy na ziarno (6-43%) i rzepaku ozimego (2-8%), spadków plonów pszenicy ozimej (od -18 do -5%) oraz nieistotnych zmian w plonach jęczmienia jarego. NUE wzrośnie w uprawie kukurydzy (2-17%), zmaleje w uprawach pszenicy ozimej (3-22%) i jęczmienia jarego (3-17%) oraz nie ulegnie zmianie w przypadku rzepaku ozimego. Zmiany NUE oraz straty N nie wpływały na konieczność zmniejszenia dawek azotu w przyszłej uprawie badanych roślin. |
| Abstract | The aim of the study was to determine the expected yields, the efficiency of N (NUE) use, N leaching, N2O and NH3 emissions depending on climate change until 2050. The research was carried out using the DNDC model for the years 1991-2010, 2011-2030 and 2031-2050 as well as 10 locations in Poland. In the simulations, the crop rotation were considered: maize for grain - spring barley - winter rape - winter wheat, which was grown on light, medium and heavy soils, with fertilization of, respectively: 140, 90, 160 and 120 kg N ha-1. It was found that climate change can contribute to increase in the yield of maize (6-43%) and winter rape (2-8%), decreases in winter wheat yield (from -18 to -5%) and negligible changes in yields of spring barley. NUE will increase in the cultivation of maize (2-17%), it will decrease in winter wheat (3-22%) and spring barley (3-17%) crops and will not change in the case of winter oilseed rape. NUE changes and N losses did not affect the need to reduce nitrogen doses in the future cultivation of the studied plants. |

| Abstrakt | The activity and efficiency of agricultural biogas plants are important issues in the field of low-emission development in rural areas and in agribusiness. The essence of the problems concerns mainly sustainable waste management in agricultural production. The main purpose of this study is to analyze the volume of agricultural biogas production in Poland and the structure of consumption of raw materials used for production of agricultural biogas. The analyses were carried out in the period of 2011–2017. The paper also presents results of empirical research on the agricultural practices as part of the subject area of the development of the agricultural biogas market in Poland. The aim of the questionnaire surveys of agricultural holdings was to obtain information on the use of the biomass from field crops and grasslands for energy purposes and the interest in the development of agricultural production towards the cultivation of energy crops. The results of the analyses were presented in the spatial arrangement of research. |

The study showed that the 2010-12 period saw the most product and process innovations being introduced. On the other hand, innovations in marketing were found to be more popular in 2013. Three groups of similar innovations were distinguished. The milk industry stood out when it comes to the extent of innovations implemented. Fewer innovations were found in the poultry meat industry. Beef and pork meat processing was the least innovative. The innovativeness of enterprises is greater with larger numbers of employees and the increase in scope of their field of operation. The implementation of innovations resulted in: improvement of the quality of goods (services), increase in stock, productive capabilities and revenues from sales, emergence of new markets, increase in competitiveness and prestige of the firm. Those are confirmed by the very good performance of foreign trade and better competitiveness rates of Polish meat producers. |
