Abstrakt	Wymagania prawa żywnościowego przyczyniły się do wzrostu konkurencyjności przedsiębiorstw przemysłu mięsnego i mleczarskiego, m.in. przez modernizację infrastruktury tych przedsiębiorstw. Z punktu widzenia zarządzania przedsiębiorstwem wprowadzenie systemu HACCP powinno się traktować jak inwestycję, która w niedalekiej przyszłości przyniesie zwrot poniesionych nakładów, zapewni łatwiejszy handel na rynku krajowym i międzynarodowym oraz da większe szanse na utrzymanie starych i zdobycie nowych konsumentów. Przedsiębiorstwa branży mięsnej i mleczarskiej, jako jedne z pierwszych były zobligowane do spełnienia wymagań unijnego prawa żywnościowego. W porównywalnym stopniu przedsiębiorstwa obydwu branż, jako pozytywny skutek spełnienia wymagań prawa żywnościowego (wdrożenie systemu HACCP) uznały m.in. wzrost samokontroli pracowników, czy też podniesienie jakości wyrobów.
Abstract	Requirements of food law contributed to an increase of competitiveness of meat and dairy industry thanks to a modernization of plant infrastructure. The implementation of the HACCP system from the point of view of company management should be treated as an investment which in the future brings repayment of costs, guarantees easier foreign and domestic trade and gives an opportunity to hold the old and to get new customers. Companies of meat and dairy industry were the first obliged to comply with the requirements of the EU food law. Companies of both branches in the same degree acknowledge, among other things, an increase of their employees’ self-control and an increase of product quality as positive effects of meeting the EU food law requirements (implementation of the HACCP system).

Abstrakt	W artykule przedstawiono zmiany zachodzące w zasobach siły roboczej w rolnictwie w latach 1996-2007 pod wpływem przemian społeczno-gospodarczych oraz członkostwa Polski w Unii Europejskiej. Szczegółowej analizie poddano zmiany liczby pracujących w gospodarstwach rolnych w jednostkach AWU na tle zmian demograficznych i ekonomicznych (wielkości gospodarstw rolnych) oraz zmiany w strukturze płci i wieku użytkowników gospodarstwa rolnego.
Abstract	The article shows the changes in the labour force in agriculture in the years 1996-2007, against the background of changes in demography and economy (farm size), as a result of socioeconomic changes and Poland’s membership in the European Union. The fact that Poland joined the European Union has positively influenced the economic activity in agriculture and, at the same time, it has slowed down the process of transferring agricultural labour force to non-farming jobs. In 2007 a positive change in the demographic structure of farming population was recorded. Generally, between 1996 and 2007 a decline in labour force was noted, but between 2002 and 2007 a slight increase was recorded. A negative phenomenon, however, is the fact that a large portion of the labour force in individual farms remains unused. Over-intensive employment in farming may lead to both open and hidden agricultural unemployment. Structural and quantitative changes in labour force show diverse intensity in individual voivodeships. Northern Poland, where large-size farms predominate, has lower density of farming population and a larger percentage of hired labour force. Central and South-Eastern Poland, however, shows a high density of population working in farming and a high share of people in working age running family farms.

Abstrakt	Celem niniejszego opracowania jest próba ukazania wpływu cech jakościowych zasobów pracy jako czynnika różnicującego wydajność zbioru owoców truskawki. W analizie zostały uwzględnione takie czynniki jak wiek i płeć zbieraczy, suma dni pracy, wiek plantacji, data i termin zbioru (początek, pełnia i koniec zbioru). Przeciętna wydajność zbioru owoców truskawki w badanym gospodarstwie w 2008 roku wyniosła 6,47 kg na jedną godzinę pracy. Wiek i płeć pracownika miały istotny wpływ na poziom wydajności zbioru owoców truskawki.
Abstract	The purpose of this paper is an attempt of showing the role of qualitative features of labour resources as a factor which diversifies the level of strawberry harvesting productivity. Such features as age and sex of pickers, total number of picking days, age of plantation and harvest date and time were taken into consideration in the analysis. The average productivity in strawberry picking in the investigated farm in 2008 amounted to 6.47 kg per hour. The age and sex of pickers had an influence on the level of strawberry picking productivity.

Przeprowadzone analizy obejmują zmiany powierzchni reprodukcyjnej cebul i bulw kwiatowych w poszczególnych krajach, zmiany struktury obszarowej gospodarstw, struktury gatunkowej upraw i jakości cebul i bulw kwiatowych. Powyższe zjawiska określono przy wykorzystaniu indeksów jednopodstawowych i wskaźników procentowych.
Abstract	This work presents the current state and changes in flower bulbs’ production in Poland and in selected EU member states, as well as prospects for its further development. The analyses concern the changes in flower bulbs’ production area in respective countries, the changes in the farms’ land use structure, in the proportions of species grown and the quality of flower bulbs. The abovementioned phenomena were displayed by using single base and percentage indices.

Abstrakt	W opracowaniu dokonano analizy znaczenia kredytów bankowych w strukturze zewnętrznych źródeł finansowania rolnictwa, w warunkach członkostwa Polski w Unii Europejskiej. Badania wykazały, że kredyt bankowy pozostaje wciąż ważnym źródłem finansowania gospodarstw rolnych. Zainteresowanie rolników kredytami jest coraz częściej powiązane z absorpcją funduszy UE wspierających inwestycje i rozwój gospodarstw rolnych.
Abstract	Importance of bank credits in the structure of external sources of financing agriculture, in conditions of Polish membership in the European Union is analysed. The findings show that bank credits are continually the most important source of financing in agricultural farms. Farmers’ interest in bank credits is more often related to the absorption of European Union funds supporting investments and development of farms.

Abstrakt	Artykuł poświęcony jest prezentacji struktury agrarnej polskiego rolnictwa i jej wpływu na aktywność gospodarstw jako dostawców surowców dla przedsiębiorstw przemysłu spożywczego. W artykule wykazano, iż trwające od dwudziestu lat przemiany obszarowe gospodarstw indywidualnych w Polsce mają właściwy kierunek, jednak tempo tych zmian jest niezadowalające. W latach 1988- 2008 liczba gospodarstw indywidualnych o powierzchni powyżej 1 ha użytków rolnych zmniejszyło się o 16%. W strukturze agrarnej nadal dominują gospodarstwa małe. W 2007 udział gospodarstw indywidualnych z grupy obszarowej 1-5 ha wynosił 57,4% ogółu gospodarstw indywidualnych o areale powyżej 1 ha użytków rolnych. Natomiast gospodarstwa o powierzchni powyżej 15 ha stanowiły w 2007 roku tylko 11% analizowanej grupy gospodarstw. Zwrócono jednocześnie uwagę na duże zróżnicowanie aktywności ekonomicznej gospodarstw między poszczególnymi grupami obszarowymi. Wraz ze wzrostem areału zwiększała się skłonność gospodarstw do koncentracji pionowej i poziomej w łańcuchach dostaw. W 2005 roku 43,7% gospodarstw o areale powyżej 15 ha było członkami grup producenckich. Natomiast dla gospodarstw z grupy obszarowej 1-5 ha wielkość ta wynosiła 1,3%. Istniejąca struktura agrarna polskiego rolnictwa utrudnia więc poprawę poziomu organizacji w łańcuchu dostaw żywności.
Abstract	The article presents the agrarian structure of Polish agriculture and the influence of this structure on the activity of farms as deliverers of raw materials for food industry. It has been shown that the area changes in private farms in Poland have admittedly the right direction but the dynamics of those changes is to slow. In 1998-2008 the number of private farms having agricultural land bigger than 1 hectare decreased by about 16 percent. The agrarian structure is dominated by small farms. In 2007 the part of private farms with area between 1 and 5 hectare amounted to 57.4 percent of all private farms with area of more than 1 hectare. However, farms with area of more than 15 hectare constituted in 2007 only 11 percent of the analyzed group of farms. An attention has also been paid to the great variety of economic activity of farms belonging to different area groups. Along with a growth of area a tendency increased in farms to the vertical and horizontal concentration in delivery chain. 43.7 percent of farms with area bigger than 15 hectare were members of producer’s groups in 2007. The same index for the area group between 1 and 5 hectare amounted to 1.3 percent. Therefore the existing agrarian structure of Polish agriculture hinders an improvement of organizational level in the food delivery chain

Abstract	The paper aims to analyze the possibility of deduction based on the Du Pont model. The analysis were carried out using classic Du Pont model as well as its modifed version. Moreover the strength and direction of selected factors that drive the level of return on equity was determined based on multiple regression methods. The analysis for the 2006 were conducted on the example of industrial processing companies. The results show that the most important factors which are determining the level of return on equity are: the profitability of sale and the rotation of assets (in basic model) as well as the operating margin and the structure of capital (in widened model). Despite of the different construction of these ratios, they have similar informative content. They show, that the advantages of owners of the capital dependent on price policy, the effective utilization of assets and the policy of formation of capital structure

Abstract	The paper assesses the cash flow structure of food industry companies from Lower Silesia region in 2002–2004. The research aimed to determine the directions of net cash flow in different types of business activity, namely: operational, investment and financial. Moreover the way the financial gross margin was generated has been assessed. The net profit worked out by the enterprise is not only one measure of its financial condition and not only condition of its existence. There are other important factors, out of which the cash flow is very important. The cash flow determines the liquidity and solvency of the company. The Cash Flow Account describes the flow of money between the balance at the beginning and the balance at the end of the period. It gives the possibility to assess the company’s ability to generate the cash. In short period the cash not the profit is of key importance for a company. Moreover it shows changes that took place in certain positions of balance sheet due to cash flows. It allows also to determine main direction of outflow of cash and to analyze the mechanisms which influence the financial situation of a company.

Abstract	The paper presents analysis on credits and loans used in financings the activity of agricultural farms. The empirical research is based on data collected under Farm Accountancy Data Network for the 2005. The aim of the paper is to determine the dependences among the level of debts and the European Unit Size of the agricultural farms depending on committed credits and loans. The results show the relation to the repayment security of the liabilities in farms and the sums of credits and loans counted per one hectare of cropland area. Farms with the highest level of debts were characterized with the diversification of the committed financing resources together with enlarged participation of the outside capital. The economically weaker farms (with a lower ESU) possessed higher participation of the short-term liabilities in the capital structure. It is connected with a reasonable financing strategy. Farms with the highest debts level were diversifying loan capital structure by maintaining higher participation of long-term financing resources, which is rational behaviour

However, the article 28 of The German Constitution guarantees the municipalities in this country local autonomy by granting them the right to manage all their affairs on their own responsibility. The right of self-government also includes responsibility for financial matters. The basic aim of this article is to present the scope of municipal tax autonomy and its influence on the structure of incomes collected by local-governments in Germany. The author emphasizes among other things the fact, that there exist considerable differences in the incomes sources between the former East and West Germany. The revenues of West German municipalities are composed mainly of taxes, fees and contributions, while the basic source of revenue for eastern communities are the federal and state grants

Abstract	There is some problem with availability of capital sources in SME section. Therefore the factoring could be a financial instrument supporting effective management of the liabilities. A sale of receivables improves the general financial situation of a company. Together with the usage of this instrument the enterprise has got possibility to benefit from a wide range of profits, which results in improved structure of financial statement and better financial condition. Moreover factoring is a catalyst which is increasing a cycle of capital index in whole economy

Abstract	The total amount of consumed food decreased in Poland. It is observed the decrease of consumption of cereals, potatoes, milk and butter. The changes are observed within the structure of food consumption as well. Beef consumption decreases, and poultry and plant fat consumption increases. In the future there are expected lower changes of consumption. There is observed the decrease of energy and nutritious value of daily food rations, what is justified. The change of nutritious value causes a lot of hazards to health. The most dangerous effect is the drastically decrease of calcium intake in the period of 20 years

The calculation of that category is done by a method use at European Farm Accountancy Date Network (FADN). The highest level of farm income was gained in Pomorze and Mazury region. Małopolska and Pogórze had the lowest level of farm income. It was a result of the differentiation of the agrarian structure of Polish agriculture

Abstract	The expenses incurred by our country on agriculture and rural areas’ development depend on the agricultural policy and financial abilities of the Budget. The aim of the article was firstly to analyze the changes in the structure of support instruments and, secondly, in the size and dynamics of public funds assign enables the absorption of union funds but, on the other hand, enforces us for refinancing union programs. As the analysis of the budget of the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture has exerted, all this caused changes in the size and structure of the mentioned expenses.
