Abstract	The aim of this paper is to identify the factors determining the agricultural holdings’ incomes in the EU and to measure their strength and direction of impact on incomes achieved in holdings from specific types of farming. The FADN data from 2006 were used in the study. In order to realize the aim of this analyze the statistical method of multiple regression was used. The research showed that the strongest impacts on agricultural holdings’ incomes have: total utilized agricultural area, technical equipment of labour, inputs of current assets and subsidies on current operations. The strength and direction of influence of these factors are diverse for particular types of farming.

Abstract	Innovation in companies is a large degree which depends on their financial resources. It influenced both the use of companies’ ideas concerning new choices and new technologies as well as the access of the external sources of innovation i.e. the purchase of license and modern fixed assets or the employment of highly-paid specialists. The purpose of this study is the discussion of the questionnaires results about financing innovation activities. The research has been carried out on 575 enterprises which conduct their activity in Podlasie area. The elaboration is a part of wider work, which aim was monitoring the Regional Innovation Strategy of Podlasie voivodeship.

Abstract	The elaborations presents the level of agriculture tax in farms which conduced, during the researched period, agriculture accountancy according to FADN system. The article deals also with the relationship between generate sales revenues (total output) and family farm income. The presented research was surveyed in 2004–2007 in Mazowsze and Podlasie region. Farms have been characterized by criterion of cropland area, agriculture type and Economic Size Unit. The highest agriculture tax burden noticed in farms which characterized with the lowest economic power. The level of paid agriculture tax in relation to sale revenues was low and the highest tax burden noticed in group 10–30 ha of cropland area. The visible influence of this tax was perceptible in farms which managed a crop production.

Abstract	The accession of Poland to EU coincided with the growth phase of Polish economic cycle. However economies of western European countries had come into the phase of economic slowdown and western investors had been looking for the new areas of economic expansion, also among the new EU member countries. But the inflow of money into Poland in the form of Greenfi eld investments was lower than the amount of reinvesting profits and credits of companies, which gained foreign strategic investor before the accession. There have been used new efficient technologies – imported from Western Countries, which improved the competitiveness and modernity of goods produced in Poland. This process has been continued after the accession. The function of foreign capital in stimulation of Polish economy should not be assessed unambiguously, because the correlation ratio between the PKB growth and the inflow of Foreign Direct Investments is low. After accession the growth ratio was high as a result of activity of investors tightly connected with Polish market, which reinvested their profits for modernisation and extension of production. Synthetic indicator of the growth of wealth of Polish society was the increase of nominal GDP per capita – two and a half times – between 2000 and 2007. Although according to the purchasing power parity the GDP per capita has grown this time only about 50% (from 10,6 thou USD to 15,9 thou USD).

Abstract	The elaboration presents the debt level in relation to possessed cropland area used in agriculture farms. The article deals also with statistical regression model in which as a dependent variable chose the level of liabilities calculated per one hectare of cropland area. The presented research was surveyed in years 2004–2007, in Mazowsze and Podlasie region. Farms have been characterized by criterion of cropland area and were divided into six groups according to classification of PL-FADN. The regression models, estimated in elaborations showed that a variable of debt calculated per hectare of cropland area influenced on the degree of financial leverage and supply turnover in each year. It presented specific factors which had an impact on farmers investments decisions. The highest number of agriculture farms, which recorded foreign capital usage in financing structure, noticed in group of farms which noticed over 40 hectares of cropland area.

The highest relation between agricultural tax and cropland area in 2006 recorded in all voivodships. The relationship between agricultural tax and possessed equity capital was comparatively low. Therefore, it could be ascertained that agriculture tax was relatively small tax burden for farmers and did not contribute to their activity production strategy. Most of farmers were against the implementation of income tax instead agriculture tax.

Abstract	In article undertook attempt to asses the financial leverage and rate on equity (ROE) in two agriculture farms which differentiate with the level of cash and financing strategy. The elaboration deals with two types of investments: purchase of a cropland area and animals, which were supported by preferential credit from Agency of Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture (ARMA). The conducted research indicated that the level of cash did not affected the level of obtain financial leverage, whereas it was necessary to take advantage from foreign capital used in farm activity. The survey confirmed that farmers should not postpone investments because it had negative influence on the level of possible losses

Abstract	The main aim of this paper was to assess the level of human capital in rural areas of Poland and to make its cross-regional comparison. There was proposed the human resource development index or human capital index having six essential elements (education, enterpreunarship, economic activity, employment, health, and migration). In 2007, the opolskie, slaskie and malopolskie provinces were characterised by the highest levels of the human capital in rural areas.The paper provides also the investigation of the link between rural human capital and economic development in Polish regions concluding that in the slaskie, mazowieckie and wielkopolskie provinces high level of rural human capital was accompanied by high level of regional economic development as measured by GDP per capita. The results of human capital study at the individual level (questionnaire study in the sample of 120 farm owners from Mazovia and Podlasie regions, 2009) show that the education is the main determinant of farmer’s human capital improvement.

The goal of the paper was to identify most important factors that have influence on the development of entrepreneurship what leads to improvement of life status in rural areas. Social and economic transformation of Polish rural areas is still in progress. Low level of technical and social infrastructure, the characteristic feature of Polis countryside does not attract investors. Therefore the entrepreneurship level can develop proper only if supported by local and state authorities.

Abstract	The aim of the paper is to define the size and differentiation of agricultural tax concerning farms participating in the system of accounting data collection system FADN in years 2004–2007. The agricultural farms were classified according to the area of productive land and by type of the farming. The highest agricultural taxation was found in the smallest farms areas and in types: „ field crops” and „mixed crops”. In these groups of farms low relation of the agricultural tax to the size of support from the government was observed. This relation showed the real decrease of agricultural taxation burdens what resulted in the decrease of market accommodation processes.

Abstrakt	Artykuł poświęcony jest prezentacji struktury agrarnej polskiego rolnictwa i jej wpływu na aktywność gospodarstw jako dostawców surowców dla przedsiębiorstw przemysłu spożywczego. W artykule wykazano, iż trwające od dwudziestu lat przemiany obszarowe gospodarstw indywidualnych w Polsce mają właściwy kierunek, jednak tempo tych zmian jest niezadowalające. W latach 1988- 2008 liczba gospodarstw indywidualnych o powierzchni powyżej 1 ha użytków rolnych zmniejszyło się o 16%. W strukturze agrarnej nadal dominują gospodarstwa małe. W 2007 udział gospodarstw indywidualnych z grupy obszarowej 1-5 ha wynosił 57,4% ogółu gospodarstw indywidualnych o areale powyżej 1 ha użytków rolnych. Natomiast gospodarstwa o powierzchni powyżej 15 ha stanowiły w 2007 roku tylko 11% analizowanej grupy gospodarstw. Zwrócono jednocześnie uwagę na duże zróżnicowanie aktywności ekonomicznej gospodarstw między poszczególnymi grupami obszarowymi. Wraz ze wzrostem areału zwiększała się skłonność gospodarstw do koncentracji pionowej i poziomej w łańcuchach dostaw. W 2005 roku 43,7% gospodarstw o areale powyżej 15 ha było członkami grup producenckich. Natomiast dla gospodarstw z grupy obszarowej 1-5 ha wielkość ta wynosiła 1,3%. Istniejąca struktura agrarna polskiego rolnictwa utrudnia więc poprawę poziomu organizacji w łańcuchu dostaw żywności.
Abstract	The article presents the agrarian structure of Polish agriculture and the influence of this structure on the activity of farms as deliverers of raw materials for food industry. It has been shown that the area changes in private farms in Poland have admittedly the right direction but the dynamics of those changes is to slow. In 1998-2008 the number of private farms having agricultural land bigger than 1 hectare decreased by about 16 percent. The agrarian structure is dominated by small farms. In 2007 the part of private farms with area between 1 and 5 hectare amounted to 57.4 percent of all private farms with area of more than 1 hectare. However, farms with area of more than 15 hectare constituted in 2007 only 11 percent of the analyzed group of farms. An attention has also been paid to the great variety of economic activity of farms belonging to different area groups. Along with a growth of area a tendency increased in farms to the vertical and horizontal concentration in delivery chain. 43.7 percent of farms with area bigger than 15 hectare were members of producer’s groups in 2007. The same index for the area group between 1 and 5 hectare amounted to 1.3 percent. Therefore the existing agrarian structure of Polish agriculture hinders an improvement of organizational level in the food delivery chain

Najwięcej miejsca poświecono wymaganiom przy ubieganiu się o poszczególne stopnie i tytuł naukowy oraz trybowi przeprowadzania przewodów. Ukazano projektowane założenia nowego modelu kariery akademickiej oraz odniesiono je do stanu aktualnego.
Abstract	The paper presents the state of the art of formal and legal issues connected with the development of scientific career as well as analysis proposed changes in this area. The legal documents were analyzed concerning the degree of Ph.D. and post Ph.D. namely assistant professor degrees as well as title of professor. The paper pays attention on the formal process of obtaining those degrees. Additionally new model of scientific career was analyzed.

Zwrócono uwagę na potrzebę dostosowania infrastruktury nauki i podejścia naukowego do wymagań wynikających z potrzeby holistycznego postrzegania zjawisk, zachodzących w zwiększającym swój zasięg i złożoność otoczeniu.
Abstract	The paper aims to present the basic problems of microeconomic researches in the area of agribusiness in Poland. It points out the importance of different approaches to microeconomic analysis (reductionism and holism) as well as their effects for quality of identification of socio-economic systems and problems of enterprises functioning. There were formulated general expectations of microeconomic sciences as well as described present bottlenecks and goals of microeconomics of agriculture. Special attention was drawn on the need to adjust the infrastructure and scientific approach to challenges coming out from the need of holistic approach to phenomenon occurring in changing, growing and more complex environment.

Abstrakt	W artykule przedstawiono niektóre aspekty współpracy między większymi producentami mleka a spółdzielniami mleczarskimi na podstawie wyników badań. Omówiono zagadnienia współpracy ekonomicznej, także w okresie trudności finansowych i organizacyjnych spółdzielni.
Abstract	The purchase milk prices do not depend only on individual producer, but he should care about the highest quality and because of that achieve possibly the highest price and improve the production profitability. In the milk purchase on the bigger part of research area occurs a lack of competition in purchase between milk cooperatives. However some of the farms manage to change a receiver to achieve a higher price of sold milk. The farms with the lowest direct profitability index by five years of searching very seldom change the receiver, but the most effective do it very often. Accepting in the macro region the lowest purchase price on 100%, the highest price was 148,1%, so the difference was significant and could economically finish farms near a weak dairy, where did not exist competition in purchase or extra improve financial condition this farm which sell milk to entity offering the highest purchase price. The participation of farms with a direct sale decreased and at the end of researched period was 16,7%. The direct milk sale increase direct profitability of production. Specialized milk farms and their milk cooperatives should support each other on all economical areas and think together about high processed milk products both on the internal and external market. Making more and more attractive selling products could be a strong base of agreement in the area of optimal purchase price between cooperative and milk farms.

Abstrakt	W artykule zaprezentowano nową formę turystyki wiejskiej, tj. agroekoturystykę i determinanty jej rozwoju. Ten rodzaj usług turystycznych na wsi dotyczy organizacji pobytu dla wczasowiczów w gospodarstwach agroturystycznych. Jednak od typowej agroturystyki różni się tym, że rolnicy zajmują się produkcją ekologiczną. Żywność pochodząca z niej jest serwowana turystom wypoczywającym w obiektach agroekoturystycznych. W części teoretycznej artykułu ukazano istotę rolnictwa ekologicznego. Ukazano także liczbę producentów ekologicznych oraz przetwórni ekologicznych w kraju według województw. Następnie przedstawiono liczbę gospodarstw agroekoturystycznych w Polsce. Przedstawiono ponadto czynniki rozwoju agroekoturystyki w województwie małopolskim. W części empirycznej pracy ukazano natomiast wyniki badań przeprowadzonych w 20 gospodarstwach agroekoturystycznych w tym regionie.
Abstract	A new form of rural tourism, i.e. agriecotourism, and determinants of its development were presented. This kind of touristic services in rural areas includes organizing a stay for holiday-makers in agritourism farms. However, it differs from the typical agritourism because the host farmers practice the organic way of production. Tourists who stay in a agriecotouristic farm are served with food made from farm’s products. In the theoretical part of the article the essence of organic agriculture was shown. Numbers of organic producers and organic food processing plants in Poland were presented by provinces. Next, the number of agriecotouristic farms in Poland was presented. Moreover, factors of agriecotourism development in Małopolska voivodeship were presented. In empirical part of the work results of a research conducted in 20 agriecotouristic farms in this region were shown
